I see absolutely nothing wrong with what the APC did. They trued to develop a consensus within their members regarding who would emerge as senate president. What obtaned in the past was for the President to select his choice and tell his leuitenants and party members to make his choice "happen" with Ghana must go bags and other forms of bribery. But the overambitiousness of Saraki and Dagora will not end well for them both. Sarai is going down because of the corruption charges hanging on him. If he thinks the Senate Presidency will shield him from prosecution, he's joking. Buhari will even use him as a scape goat, the way Obasanjo used Tara Balogun and Sunday Afolabi as scape goats.
The APCs decision to follow a Clean and transparent system of selecting house leaders may have failed, but I doff my heart for their attempt to restore sanity to the process. No Ghana must go bags exchanged hands like before ( I can't say for the PDP senators).

I am from Nigeria and as far as the leadership of Parliament is concerned it is a House matter. The party can be the ombudsman but there is a process of 'election', not selection that the APC is well advised not to truncate in ANYONE's interert. Nuff said.

Oga everywhere in the world u go, ruling parties reach a consensus on whom they want to represent them before house elections proper. That's how they make use of their numerical strength. The APCs process is even more democratic because for instance in the UK and the US, if you're a democrat, you're expected to vote for the party's choice in house leadership elections. Nothing like internal voting or consensus. The APC is even trying to be democratic by allowing its members emerge from the ranks through internal consensus. Nobody has impose anyone! The only problem is the people who do not want to accept the choice of the majority of the APC house members, and have now started flirting with the opposition just, out of their lust for poer, jist so they can win the vote. you should try to understand exactly what's going on and what obtains in other climes before you form and advertise your opinions.

Trying to scuttle a noble process of pre-selecting favourites? Democracy is democracy. Autocracy cannot work in a democracy. Consensus was the downfall of the PDP. If the APC is not open, fair and democratic, it is just a matter of time.

If Buhari says he would not intervene then no one else should. Buhari is simply saying, let there be democracy, but the other side hides behind 'party' to truncate the system. Is APC the synonym of democracy?

I think the present system is a far departure from the past where the President simply selected his candidates for the house leadership and mandated his party people to do everything possible, especially with Ghana must go bags, to ensure that his preferred candidate emerged. Now the president has hands off the selection process and allowed the party to establish a consensus between its members in both houses. A very noble scheme! The problem here is the greed and selfish Ambition of Dagora and Saraki who are desperately trying to scuttle a noble process simply because it doesn't favour them. That is the PDP way of doing things. Incidentally both of them recently defected from the PDP.

The problem here is greed. Bukola saraki and Dagora, who both recently defected from the PDP are the brains behind this conflict in electing new leaders for the NA. They think they're still in the PDP. The APC has every right to mandate its members to have consensus candidates before the elections. The fear of loss and greed of both Saraki and Dagora is tarnishing the noble in tensions of the APC leadership. The PDP remnants are still causing trouble even after we killed the PDP.

Let's just wait till we find out who owns breaking times. Anyone that believes these sensational stories is a big IDÎOT! Buhari that had to use Tinubus Abuja house to receive John Kerry before the elections in April. All Naval boat has a greater horsepower than ur normal civilian boats and u need that horsepower to be able to catch pirates both in Nigerian waters and international waters, Tompolo company is a security company that protects Nigeria and international waters again pirates and vandals so they need a big horsepower boat that can go a great knot on the high sea.

If those ships had been stripped of their weapons and sold to a legitimate government, no one would be making noise today. See this dunce! Why go and order for a ship that has been previously used for military purposes when you can easily get a civilian ship off the shelf? The intention of those that stripped off the weapons was so they could beat Norwegian laws barring the sale of military vehicles to private individuals. This article is more of hype for Nigeria. Nigeria is nowhere near the class of south Africa. I think "Rivalry" between both countries is between their black populations.
