Hello Romancelanders I want to narrate my experience with online dating.

Have always been sceptical about online dating but decided to give it a try after a one year break of dating. I opted out of my previous affair because my ex's family was against him marrying from my tribe so had to end the shiiit, and i gave myself a break since he was acting so indecisive about the whole thing. Now my experience...

I am one of the few nairaland babes that do respond to pm especially if your contribution to this forum has been matured and reasonable irrespective of the section you frequent.

So of all the pms I do have, I sieve and respond to few but so far I'm not impressed with the calibre of men searching online.

After taking risk to exchange my contact and get to meet (in chaperone oh) few of them, about 3, I found out that most men searching online has something terrible about them that makes ladies turn them down in real life that's why they run to online; it is either they are unkempt, razz or not presentable. Some can't even talk like a real man, they are either too weak or timid in real life, no class no nothing.

Forget all those edited pictures used as dp and the likes most of them in real life are dirty!!!

How can a grown up guy don't know how to clean up and look neat. I mean why must your personal hygiene be zerohuh You're meeting someone for the first time and your mouth oozes. I mean, who does thathuh Or is that also attributed to poverty?

I have male cousins that earn less than 50k in a month but they still look neat and presentable.

Is there someone that has experienced the same, be it with male or female?

Or am I alone in thishuh
This OP is a big joke!!! See her composition! Who are the hopeless guys on NL hooking up with someone like this Bikohuh Persin wey no even sabi compose English? Are NL guys that desperate? OP is a nonsense mgbeke feeling funky. You've just exposed your own razness, in fact you're officially the razzest gal on NL now.

SIRTee15:
@op
please lets get some things clear.
-There's no big deal in managing animal bite wound. its all about aggressive wound dressing and subsequent grafting(that's if the wound is deep) after adequate granulation. Any plastic surgeon can do this and do not need any special treatment in india or anywhere else for that matter.
-The child was treated in a world class PRIVATE hospital in india and NOT an indian govt hospital. A world class private hospital here in naija that has a plastic surgeon in its pay roll will equally do a good job.
- I'm sure when the poor boy was admitted in LASUTH, the father had nothing on him except a promisory note from Gov Fashola that the boys medical expenses will be paid by the govt.
Now, anybody who knows how govt works in naija will know that fashola's statement was merely political and will most likely not be honored in any govt establishment.
Rather, the boy's father will be expected to provide for the dressing materials and antibiotics needed to treat his child. Something he failed to do.
if at all he will be reimbursed by the lagos state govt, that will not be immediate due to bureaucratic process that delays such payments.
Neither LASUTH nor the medical staffs will eat promisory notes, but they wont complain. Fashola is their employer, thus they will continue to do whatever they can to help the poor boy. Obviously their effort was too weak to have any effect..
The boy was flown to india with an adequate treasury chest backed by delta state governor. if he had gone to india with promisory notes, he would also have been rejected.
pls, lets be fair in our comments.
thanks.

note, I'm not exonerating our medical staffs, but as far as this case is concerned it has financial constraint written all over it.

I'll come back and reply that girl called onegal (she's just spamming nonsense all over the thread) and also profer solutions on ailing heathcare system.
I've actually learnt more from her posts than anyone else's. I don't get the promissory notes part. Are you referring to the consultants that would have handled the plastic surgery or the normal doctors and nurses that should have treated the infection? Are you suggesting that doctors and nurses pay for the drugs and the treatment from their own pockets? Aren't they paid by the government? If their employer, the government, tells them to take a case pro bono, I don't understand why the boys father would have had to pay for the dressing or antibiotics.

A badly infected wound would always smell. We don't k ow if the infection was hospital acquired or not. There lies the issue.
The point is the boy was at LASUTH long enough for any infection resulting from the bite to have been treated. Did you read the part where the boys father described the attitude of the nurses when treating the wound? They would leave the wound open and wait for hours for the doctor to have a final say.

Sir, i am one of the best in my field. Some people like u are experts in fault finding. U jump up and shout when u hear news like this without pausing for a second to think and investigate. But when u hear abt world class surgeries being performed in Nigerian hospitals u put on ur doubting cap and become a thomas. So u think LASUTH cannot handle a mere case of dog bite? Does that mean there has not being cases of dog bites in Nigeria, abi do we all travel to india to treat dog bite in this country? Haba! Concerning the "referral letter" are u sure it was written in LASUTH? When a patient decline ur treatment and request to be treated in another hospital for a medical condition u can treat, u dont have to give the patient a referral letter! The patient DAMAs. Discharge Against Medical Advice! Are we sure the boy did not DAMA from LASUTH to get a referral letter from anoda source? I AM NOT SAYING OUR HOSPITAL DONT HAVE PROBLEMS, am just saying we should not constantly bring down the morale of our health care workers that are trying their best in the harsh working environment they find themselves. When our doctors compete in foreign exams, they come out as d best, and u guys are here killing their morale! Its unfair!
Mtshewww! You're one of the problems of the health care sector in Nigeria. Instead of calling a spade a spade, and painting black as black and white as white, you're busy looking for different shades of white and black. Nonsense!

This is not true. It shows how "uneducated" some of our educated Nigerians are. There is no way a wound caused by a dog bite will not have infection even if it is being treated in the best hospitals in d world! Its called a dirty wound with an infectivity rate of greater than 45%. Such wound requires patience on the part of both the doctors and the patient's relatives to heal. I know that our health institutions are far from where we ought to be but we have the best of doctors and nurses in Nigeria. I dont work in LASUTH but i KNOW that the hospital has one of the best doctors and nurses in Africa. Now the INDIANs are smart! They are into medical tourism. They will do anything to "toast" Nigerians to travel to INDIA for treatment. They know that Nigerians dont believe in their health care system and will do anything to get "foreign" treatment so they will say anything to discredit our hospitals. I have seen many Nigerians run back home with several complications from treatments in india.
You're probably the doctor that wrote the useless note that was lampooned by the Indian doctors

This topic typifies how governance in Lagos works. Fashola invited the media to witness him offering free medical aid to the child, and when the cameras shifted elsewhere, his attention shifted with the cameras. See LASUTH that Fashola has been boasting about cannot treat a common infection. God knows how many more innocent people have died from the negligence of Lagos state health officials and the politicians at the helm. If the boys father hadnt muscled his way through the filthy Lagos state bureaucracy, his son would be dead now.

3.How many B.H did Cameroonian soldiers kill last year?
4.Just last week how many B.H members was killed and chased out of camp by Chadian soldiers?

Does it mean that all this people are more feed and equipped including the local hunters than Nigerian soldiers?

Have we ever asked ourselves this question...
1.What is B.H fighting for?
2.Why in GEJ's Regime ?
3.Why are they in North-East?
4.Who is sponsoring them?

God Bless Nigeria!
Oga forget long story! The money meant for them is not reaching them. Someone\people in Abuja are pocketing all the money meant for the soldiers. The little that eventually leaves Abuja Is chopped by the Generals and other senior officers before it gets down to the war front in the North East. The soldiers sef don try. Before they no dey give tori, they would just seize power by force. Now they're writing letters and appearing on CNN to highlight the problems in the military and what they're getting in return is death sentences and persecution. If they seize power again nobody should complain. The military has been more civil than our lousy politicians.

Available information has shown that four-year-old Abraham Omonigho, who was attacked by two German shepherd dogs in Igando area of Lagos State, in September 2014, was infected while at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja.

This was said by the medical personnel at the Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad, an Indian medical facility in Telegana State, where Omonigho was flown to late November, 2014, after his father, Odia, took him out of LASUTH.

After spending about two months at the Apollo Hospitals, Omonigho returned to Nigeria on Thursday. The treatment of the undisclosed infection was said to have lasted over one month.

Omonigho’s scalp had been covered up by the doctors but Odia said his son would return to India in June 2015, for a micro surgery.

Saturday PUNCH learnt this on Friday during a visit to the Abrahams in their Akesan Estate residence in Igando area of Lagos.

Our correspondent had reported that Omonigho was riding a bicycle with his brothers-Bobby and Osemidiamen-when they were attacked by the two dogs owned by their landlord.

The PUNCH had reported that while the older brothers jumped down from the balcony of their one storey apartment, the victim was ravaged by the dogs, which tore his scalp.

Neighbours and policemen were reported to have stood at the gate, helpless, until the victim’s mother arrived at the scene.

Our correspondent reported that the crowd persuaded her not to go in, but she was spurred to move in after seeing one of the dogs emerge from the balcony with blood in its mouth.

Helen reportedly fought off the dogs singlehandedly and rescued her son while the crowd assisted in taking him to the hospital.

The victim was taken to LASUTH and the State Governor, Babatunde Fashola, ordered the management not to collect money from the family.

However, the victim’s father, Odia, had a running battle with the hospital management, which he said still charged him for drugs and other medications.

Odia later raised the alarm that his son’s condition had worsened as a result of neglect by the hospital.

The Delta State Governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan, intervened and together with a non-governmental organisation, Global Initiative for Peace, Love and Care, a trip to India was arranged for Omonigho to undergo a surgery.

The Lagos State Commissioner, Jide Idris, in a press release cautioned against the trip, saying the victim’s condition was delicate.

Idris alleged that the victim’s father declined the state government’s offer for Omonigho to be flown to another specialist hospital in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Odia, however, insisted that his son’s head had started to rot and that the Indian trip had been concluded before the state government gave him the Dubai offer.

Odia said the Indian doctors thrashed the medical report LASUTH issued to them, which he said was termed as “mere paper.”

He said, “They said the report did not give them any information and couldn’t have been written by a doctor. They said it was good I quickly brought my son because his head was getting rotten and had been infected while at the hospital. The doctors told me they could not start with the surgery because they had to treat the infections first.

“You remember I cried out that my son’s head smelled, but the LASUTH people said it was granulation. I had always suspected things were wrong because at LASUTH, the nurses would open his head for dressing at 6am and leave it open for the doctors, who would not show up till 12pm. And when they did, they would ask the nurses to close it up. I remembered that no doctor showed up for two weeks during a particular time. That was when I got mad because his condition was becoming critical.

“But in India, they dressed his wound three times a day, and at least five special senior doctors attended to him every day.”

Our correspondent was shown a medical document of the hospital which confirmed that Omonigho’s head was infected.

It read, “At the time of admission, there was: large raw area over scalp with infection; the raw area was extending from frontal scalp, bilateral parietal scalp to occipital region; the raw area was looking pale and slimy; Infection+.

“Dr. Durga Prassad, consultant paediatrician, was consulted for evaluation of medical problems. He (Omonigho) was diagnosed as a case of infected raw area over scalp.”

Odia said the doctors told the family they needed to do skin grafting to temporarily cover up the wound before the major operation would be done after his return to India in June.

PoliticsRe: Open Letter To President Jonathan By Army Officers by duni04(m): 5:34am On Jan 31, 2015
First it was soldiers shooting at their corrupt and incompetent GOC in Maiduguri. Then it was a senior officer writing an open letter to the president, which was later retracted under duress. Then Jonathan appointed someone from his hometown as Chief of Army staff. And now soldiers are rebelling in groups and discretely because they're scared of the persecution and the death sentences Jonathan's people are dashing out like ice cream.
Its in our best interest that this man is not re elected as President or we might just have a major rebellion in the Military. If he or his party tries to rig the election, the consequences will be very unprecedented. Things have gone so bad in the North that Chad, poor useless Chad is now helping us secure our territory from Boko Haram. Jonathan has ceded a large chunk of the territory he inherited to Boko Haram. His time is clearly up.
