DDeliverer: I thank God almighty because Feb 14 is few weeks from now..
All these noise will soon end!
What we will notice is 1.APC dragging PDP to court accusing them of election rigging. 2. Few bombings and killings in the North and a mild protest in Lagos. 3.Heavy presence of military in kano, kastina, yobe and adamawa. 4.Amaechi going into exile. 5.Buhari retiring in daura with his melu-melus. 6.Tinubu, nobody will know his whereabout.. 7.Rochas will decamp to PDP. 8.APC e-rats will de-activate their Nairaland accounts while some will register new accounts.
OR
We divide Nigeria! 1.GEJ remains the president of the south-south, south-East, part of south- west, part of the middle belt. 2.Buhari becomes the president of abokiis and their slaves. |

obayaya: The soldiers erred.. the cause of their actions notwithstanding!!!
Everyone always have a cause for their actions.. A cause they believe is right and just!!!
These coup plotters GMB murdered in 84 probably had an admirable and good cause for their actions.
But it didn't count then.. Why will the cause of the mutineers count today?
It's still the same Nigerian Army and their laws haven't changed that much. If they erred, then Buhari too erred in plotting the coup that overthrew Shagari's government. |

Joel3: Just up. Since the partial removal what impact can we feel from it? If the government cannot build 100 full scale refinery in nigeria without subsidy remove at first than I give up on jonathan.
Jonathan is too afraid to step on toes. And corrupt and clueless as well. One of the objectives of deregulating the downstream sector of the oil industry is to remove government interference in the sector and open it up to private investment. The government cannot build any refineries because it would defeat the purpose of deregulation. The 3 refineries we have are not functioning and are conduict pipes for corruption because they're government run. Asking the government to build more is telling the government to go on with corruption. If we deregulate and remove the subsidy, private companies come in and build refineries and compete with themselves and bring down the price of petrol, like it happened with GSM. Jonathan wanted to remove the subsidy and allow private companies come in and build more refineries but you people refused. Now that other countries are enjoying the benefits of a deregulated oil sector, you're complaining like the children of Israel in the desert again. What exactly do Nigerians want? |

ifevictor: Like we are enjoying on diesel that has been fully deregulated..? You guys have forgotten that diesel is fully deregulated and the price/litre has refused to go below N150 per litre....Naa subsidy cause that one too.... We are taking about corruption and ineptitude of government, u are finding excuses for them. Instead of speaking out against this malady we are playing sentimental politics with our future and that of our children...
All i think is that we need change of guard..... What you should do is try and understand the issues instead of jumping on popular sentiment. You clearly don't understand what the subsidy is or how it works. |

Keegan: Did you just say abolish corruption?! Who? Gej?! He no fit, why couldn't he try to probe one, just ONE out of various other corrupt incidents that plague his administration like leprosy? Why is it always the subsidy palaver you Pro-jonathan refer to, and by the way who stops him from doing his job? The guy is a failure, an excuse specialist that is surrounded by incompetent opportunists engaging in a trial and error form of governance. Who's pro Jonathan? I'm just trying to be objective. If we'd allowed the government continue with the deregulation of the downstream sector of the oil industry in 2012, we'd be enjoying N50 or even N40 fuel now. 3years on and we still don't have functional refineries, petrol is still expensive at N87 (when the rest of the world is enjoying cheaper fuel) and there's still subsidy corruption. So with the benefit of hindsight, who was right and who was wrong? |

Joel3: one barrel of crude oil is now below 50$
One barrel of crude if refine is equivalent to 150 liters of fuel.
Do the maths
Why can't we own a refinery?
If we refine this crude oil in nigeria there will be no need spending money for imported fuel.
We could simply buy locally refine fuel for 20naira.
Oil thefts steals 400,000 barrel per day.
And nigeria only need free 250,000 barrel per days to power our economy, but only few people enrich themselves with GEJ.
This will only make us to spend for refining cost and by then it will be around 10naira if crude oil is free.
This will make our economy more stronger and the poor will feel the impact of a government. No robbery and kidnapping.
to power electricity and the whole nigeria economy is 250,000 a day. Oil thefts steals 400,000 per day.
Jonathan failed nigerians
You're using both ends of the same stick to crucify Jonathan. When he wanted to remove the subsidy to encourage investors to build refineries and abolish the corruption in the petrol subsidy scheme, you refused. But now that the price of oil has gone down worldwide and we can't enjoy the benefits cos we still don't have any refineries, you want to crucify Jonathan again. You have to decide on exactly what you want. |

Will Buhari truly fight corruption when he's seeking the support of Atiku, Ibb, Tinubu and Obasanjo, the fathers and uncles of corruption? The difference between the Buhari of 2003, 2011 and the Buhari of 2015 is that desperation has forced him to form evil alliances and compromise on his values. This is not the Buhari of 1983 |
