thanks guys. indeed its been quite a while. its really exciting seeing all the new developments happening
on the thread and so many new members getting hooked on solar.

ever since the price of fuel sky-rocketed, its been my desire to revisit that calculation I did in 2010 and I
I was quite surprised at the outcome. what a difference six years makes.

on a side note, my system is still firing on all cylinders with no issues at all - discounting weather.
when I look back at all the money spent and this calculation, I realize that in six years, my system has
more than paid for itself in terms of cost-savings alone. right now, what I'm using is free energy!

i think what happened was , ur house doesnt hv a lightening protector [that spike on the roof], thus when there a direct hit, the lightening didnt hv a direct path to ground thus it was jumping all over the house, and chanced on the inverters, the ones that didnt burn either have better electronics inside them, or thier casing is less metallic than the others.
in real life this scenario is played out if a human being is standing under a tree during a rainstorm, and the tree receives a direct strike, the lightening will try to discharge to ground through the tree trunk, but as its going down..it senses a better conductor...which is the human body, thus it will jump from the tree to the person, and fry him, all these happens in nano seconds.

1 may escape a direct hit if some of the following occur.
1. your house is a bungalow and there is a 1storey of higher structure very close to u.
2. your roofing is made of ceramic tiles, while ur neighbours is long span aluminuim [the lightening will choose ur neigbhours house - all things being equal ]
3. you hv ur lightening spike, and grounding connected properly...i repaet properly, its best you dont hv a spike than you have a spike system consturcted wrongly, it will attract the lightening..an the lightening will burn down ur roof if it doesnt see a good path to ground, this will happen if you use fae./wrong copper strip connection to spike

You need protection. The house can be a conductor. Have an avenue for the lightning to discharge through when it hits the building. Get a lightning protector for your inverter.
Shell out a bit more for a good system. Switched off from the inverter but was it off from the battery to the inverter?

Please n'lande, my sister is now at the age 21 and notice dat she never seen/observe her menstruation period in her life, we urgently needs medical advice. I started seeing-exomphalos, gastroschisis, prune belly syndrome (1 in 35000) as a student, and have witnessed d all the surgeries and conservative treatment for them. abandoned keee ;Dabandoned keee are always a busy person and I don't want to disturb at work, d hybrid setup is getting famous these days n it also save the stress of getting another cc, besides i like them because they give full details of all yr setup...... Is your hybrid inverter integrated with pwm or mppt controller?

From all I have read about grounding .. all system in an off grid setup should be connected to the same ground in a process called bonding. Your panels and their frames and your controllers batteries inverters and all appliances in the house should all terminate to the same ground. Grounding separately (again from my readings ) defeats the purpose of creating 1 path of least resistance to ground. Might want to look it up.

I have my system setup this way although the controller and batteries are yet to be connected to ground.

I belive That is an Axpert inverter. Are u using flooded batteries?

long time sir, Sorry for the loss we got the controller the same time back then.... Hw are you connecting the setup now since the cc is now redundant

I have been using this charger for over 5 years without incident. I don't want to believe this charger is not smart, remember it was removed from telecom rectifier. If it's not smart MTN, GLO and other telecom companies that use rectifier are at risk of battery damage. In fact, I use this charger to revive any of my battery that is performing below expectations.

People should not comment without facts

1) Cost of generator , cost of fuelling it in a year for 8hrs & cost of maintenance =

Vs

2) Cost of getting an inverter with battery that can last same 8hrs, same with solar.

Eg. If it'll cost me 50,000 to buy a gen (2.8kva)
1,000 daily to fuel for 8hrs; 365,000 a year
Cost of maintenance a year = 30,000
Total = 445,000 a year spent on generator,

How much will it cost for a solar or inverter to supply the same 8 hrs in a year. That's the analysis we need here not beer parlour gist

Hello doc..I was having hot sensation in my groan area went to the hospital and my urine mcs showed E coli .doctor prescribed antibiotics and I was getting some relieve from the hot sensation..after some time it was back again and I had to do another urine mcs and vdrl test..urine showed no growth and vdrl came out negative..doctor just assured me and gave me multuivitamins..buh I feel so uncomfortable especially when I sit or rub my thighs together..what do u advise I do pls..its really affecting me
