[b]During the days of regionalism in Nigeria, the southwest had cocoa & sea port, the North was doing great with groundnut pyramid and agriculture while the Southeast had nothing but little deposits of coal in Enugu which has since gone extinct. In this modern Era, if the country were to be divided, Lagos alone is enough to carry the southwest coupled with cocoa and gold deposits in Osun and other SW states. The north has livestock and agriculture to sustain their economy. The south south has huge deposits of oil and gas to sustain themselves while nothing can be said of the southeast cos presently the region is contributing virtually nothing to the federal purse. The point here is the Igbos are the one's benefitting the most in our united Nigeria due to their limited natural resources. They are the most travelled tribe in the country and well accepted and shown love by every Nigerian. They should be glad other regions are covering their resource deficiency under the umbrella of Nigeria. Biafra is not what the igbos need but to look inward and correct their political miscaculations. The igbos dont have the resources to stand alone as a country and that is why they mostly merge the SS to their biafran dream so they can dominate and control their oil as the majority. We would not want a refugee crisis to occur within our borders due to hunger and unnecessary power tussle. It is better we remain united as a family in one Nigeria.

Constitutionally, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) must hand over all oil revenue – which makes up about 70 per cent of total income – and money is then paid back based on a budget approved by parliament.

Ukura, who presented his findings in a report to lawmakers at the National Assembly, said other government ministries and agencies had also failed to remit funds, taking the total not passed on to 3.3 trillion naira for 2014.

No one at the NNPC could immediately be reached to comment or provide details of the amount remitted that year. According to the latest figures on OPEC’s website, Nigeria’s oil exports are worth about $77 billion a year.

Development in Nigeria, Africa’s biggest oil producer and largest economy, has been stunted by decades of corruption and mismanagement. President Muhammadu Buhari took office last year on an anti-corruption ticket.

Ukura’s report stated that it was based on an “examination of NNPC mandates to CBN (Central Bank of Nigeria) on Domestic Crude Oil Sales and Reconciliation Statement of Technical Sub-committee of Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) meeting held in January 2014”.
“Amount not remitted to FAAC was N3,234,577,666,791.35,” the auditor-general said in his report.

In 2014, the then central bank governor, Lamido Sanusi, was suspended after accusing the NNPC of failing to pay $20 billion into government accounts between January 2012 and July 2013.

Dude I live in USA. I've moved around the states in USA, majority of the food USA is imported from Mexico. Unlike Nigeria, USA actually stamp each product they sell. Anyone that tell you, USA export more than they import in terms of food is lying to you. Any data you read that on is lying to you. I know this for cause I've been around the states in USA and it's the same pattern in all the states I've lived in. Even the most self producing states of USA aka Florida and Texas is dominated by Latinos thus, no doubt that's why those states are the most producing states in USA. Are you sure you have set foot in USA? USA imports agricultural products from South American countries especially tropical products for certain reasons. One instance is to help the economy of those countries exporting the products. However, USA is one of the few countries on earth that can feed itself.

Now he wants to move to Washington, DC, for even a much bigger job. Wife says ''no way. This is becoming crazy. I have a life too''. I'd rather divorce than move this time''.
