Fools will never learn. The TIC has raised salient points but the biafran brutes will never learn until they are crushed in even a wrose way than 1967. Bunch of idiots!
Only a fool thinks the right to exercise the inalienable liberty given to mankind by God is foolish endeavor. Ndiigbo are not brothers and sisters to Yari.ba, Hausa, Fulani or Kanuri. Ethnic nation states are growing in leaps and bounces in Nigeria and the disintegration of the cesspit is very inevitable.

The right of self-determination is an inalienable right which any reasonable individual can exercise at his/her willing. One wonders if these goons actually thought about the struggle of their forbearers to achieve independence for the zoo called Nigeria. A success is the beginning of a life journey not the end. Having achieved independence for Nigeria does not in any way or form stop any group in Nigeria from seeking self governance. The stream of thought of these dunces explains why Nigeria is perpetually backward.
Politics › Re: Yoruba Message To Igbos. Please Understand by Duru1(m):
aljharem:
For your information, Yoruba are not the most hateful tribe. The most hateful tribe regions would not flourish they way all Yoruba regions are flourishing. The right question should have been; Why Yoruba's are the most jealous tribe? the answer is this; Misrepresentation of facts about Yoruba. We Will educate many by sharing this historical facts . We must reject in total BIGOTRY in any form...We should celebrate our progress. "By 1872 Lagos was a cosmopolitan trading center with a population of over 60,000 people. Colonial Lagos developed into a busy, cosmopolitan port, with an architecture that blended Victorian and Brazilian styles. The
Brazilian element was imparted by skilled builders and masons who had returned from Brazil. The black elite was composed of English-speaking "Saros" from Sierra Leone and other emancipated slaves who had been repatriated from Brazil and Cuba.
By 1872 the population of Lagos was over 60,000, of whom less than 100 were of European origin.
In 1876 imports were valued at £476,813 and exports at £619,260.
Telephone links with Britain were established by 1886, and electric street lighting in 1898.
In August 1896, Charles Joseph George and G.W. Neville, both merchants and both unofficial members of the Legislative Council,
presented a petition urging construction of the railway terminus on Lagos Island rather than at Ido, and also asking for the railway to be extended to Abeokuta. Lagos history is rich in Yoruba tradition, trade and commerce, infrastructural development and cosmopolitanism." -
EXTRACTED
With the little facts above, I would like to educate
those making stupid assumption from
blind sentiments that they developed Lagos.

1. Lagosians had telephone presence in 1886, Itu
and Calabar got connected to Telephone in 1923,
while between 1946 and 1952, a three-channel
line carrier system was commissioned between
Lagos and Ibadan and was later extended to Oshogbo, Kaduna, Kano, Benin, and Enugu.

2. Communication technology is a major signifier of civilizations and if Lagosians were already making telephone calls more than 70 years before their
daddies, where then did they get the warped idea that they came to develop Lagos?

3. By 1856 Cable and Wireless Company of the UK
had commissioned a submarine cable link
between Lagos and London and In 1851 a post office was established in Lagos; all these before of the emergence of Nigeria as an amalgamatedvcountry.

4. If I may ask again, where did the funny idea that Igbo developed Lagos came from? OR that Lagos was developed with Nigeria's money when Lagos was not even part of Nigeria until
1914.

5. I always feel embarrassed anytime I read and hear even so-called educated people from the East making these sentimental assertions that has no basis in history or fact.

6. The first Yoruba lawyer Christopher Alexander
Sapara Williams was called to the English Bar in 1879 whilst the first Igbo lawyer, Sir Louis Mbanefo, was called to the English bar in 1937.

7.Again the first Yoruba medical practitioner, Dr.
Nathaniel King, graduated in 1875 from the University of Edinburgh whilst the first Igbo medical practitioner, Dr. Akannu Ibiam, graduated
from another Scottish University in 1935.

8. Again I ask, where did the ignorant hypothesis of the
backward Yoruba race who needed development by the superior Igbo race come from?

For the sake of our generation and posterity we need to teach factual history and not just cook up some
cock and bull ego-centric concoctions as facts.
The attitude of recycling long tales steeped in empty arrogance should be discarded before you
miseducate your kids with fictions.

9. Awolowo will continue to be the Yoruba hero not
because of blind followership but because he gave
his people the system of free education, free healthcare and he introduced Television to the Yoruba; making Yorubaland the first region to
have a TV station in Africa and even the Soviet Union all done with revenues from Cocoa. It is crass ignorance and naked buffonery to claim Lagos was built with Nigeria's money.

10. In addition, where did the foolish idea that the Igbo brought civilization to Lagos and Yoruba-land come from?

11. The aim of this post is not to deride any tribe but to correct the dangerous misinformation trending
among some Igbo youths and common in their narratives that Lagos is a no-man's land and that their fathers built and developed Lagos.

Your forebears came to Yoruba-land like every other
settlers and we appreciate their contributions but the stupid claim that Igbo built and developed Lagos is a gross display of stupidity because Lagos was already developed before your
forebears came here from their villages and towns.
The first storey building in Nigeria was built in Marina, Badagry in 1845, long before some of hinterland people gave up the idea of conical mud houses with thatched roofs which some boastfully
called 'ancient mansions.' How can you now claim your grand-sires developed Lagos?
Please if you are one of those spreading the fiction, I
expect you to desist from self-delusion and
collective amnesia forthwith.

12. The first Igbo alphabet-character set and Igbo
primer (Isoama-Ibo) was published by Bishop
Samuel Ajayi Crowther (a yoruba man from
Osogbo in now Osun, States) in 1857. The question is jealousy not hatred.
What arrant nonsense for the slow learners. Can the dumbass goon who wrote the crap above tell us the last Yari.ba who was minister of Lagos? Per #6 above, Christopher Alexander Sapara Williams was not even born in Africa. He and his family were returnees. His younger brother who was medical doctor was born Sierra Leone.

Per #7, Dr. Nathaniel King was born in Sierra Leone and like the above Williams was a returnee. Yari.ba are known as shameless claimers. They will even claim Jesus Christ as Yari.ba.

Per # 12, it is very apparent that the goon who wrote the above crap cannot strike a different between a publisher and author.

A former Secretary-General of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, Chief Frank Kokori, on Sunday described those agitating for Biafra Republic as miscreants and dropouts lacking any iota of what they were demanding.

Kokori, who spoke with our correspondent on the telephone, also urged genuine Igbo leaders to speak out against the situation which he noted was a stage the country had passed.

He said, “It is very unfortunate what the Biafran agitators are doing. They are not really serious about it.

They do not know the enormity of what they are demanding. Those goading and pushing them into the protests are doing so for selfish reasons. They are playing on the intelligence of the agitators who are mostly miscreants and dropouts. There are no serious persons among them. At this stage, the real igbo leaders should tell them that we have passed that stage in Nigeria.”

The ex-NUPENG scribe added that it was important for the Igbo leaders to speak out in order to end the manipulation of the agitators by those he termed selfish individuals.

According to him, the Boko Haram menace aggravated by the refusal of the northern leaders to speak out when it initially started.

“It is not that the pro-Biafra protests are anyhow similar to that of the bestial attacks of Boko Haram. But the Igbo leaders must speak out in time to check the situation. I do not think any serious Igbo will support their demands. The agitators do not even believe what they are clamouring for. The protests are even only within the South-East. Delta, Rivers, Akwa Ibom and other states are not fully involved, ” he stated.

Members of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra and the Indigenous People of Biafra have continued to agitate for Biafra Republic through a storm of protest.

The Nigeria Police have also intensified actions to curtail the protests by arresting some of the agitators.

I think and believe that in Nigeria today, Igbos love themselves more than every other tribes. If you see any Igbo rich business man, listen to his story how he got to where he is today, he will always start with, 'I was a poor boy at home with my parents when my uncle, brother, or relation took me and brought me to the city to learn trade with him and finally settled me to start my own'.

IGBOS ARE RARE.
1] You will see one Igbo man who has trained and settled more than 100 young men and all are doing well in their businesses.
2] It is only Igbo man that I have seen who would train a child that is not his in schools up to the university level.
3] Only Igbo man would send a relation abroad to go and find means to survive without minding how much it cost him.
4] Every Igbo man want his brother to live comfortably and don't have to rely on others.
5] Igbo man would rather teach you how to catch a fish than to give you already caught fish.
6] When an Igbo man marries, he takes good care of his wife and children unlike the other tribes that doesn't respect their wives.
7] My sister Murna has always said that she would love to marry an Igbo man because they know how to take good care of their wives and those related to her.
8] Igbo man, no matter what and where he maybe would always have home at heart and wherever they see their people, they make themselves known.
9] Wherever they are, they would surely have Igbo meetings and gatherings of their local governments people.
10] Igbo man would go to meetings every Sunday where they meet with their people.

I wonder how anyone could say that Igbos don't love themselves, In fact we are jealous about Igbo people for how united and together they come all the time. When something happen to one of them, they would come together and assist. I have seen people from other tribes buried here when they died, but when an Igbo die here they must gather and take the body home in solidarity.
Things Igbo people do together I never see in other tribes in Nigeria. An Hausa or Yoruba rich man would never do anything to help you, they would rather be giving you 20 Naira every time they see you, that is after you must have greeted them tire.
If Biafra goes away from Nigeria, I will be the first to apply for their visa, I want stay with them, very intelligent people, they know how to make things happen. - Idris Abubakar, Dakata, Kano. - Hope For Nigeria.

3. Kenule Beenson Saro-Wiwa
https://media.premiumtimesng.com/wp-content/files/2012/12/saro_wiwa_.jpg
(Oct 10, 1941- Nov 10, 1995):

Ken Saro-Wiwa was an inllustrious Ogoni son and Niger-Delta legend that was born into the family of Chief Jim Beenson Wiwa in 1941. He was a writer, an administrator and an activist

His Heroics:
He was appointed as the administrator of Bonny, Rivers state during the Nigeria-Biafran war. He was very vocal for voicing the position of his people and the entire Niger Deltans during the war. One of the demand of the Ogoni people is fiscal autonomy. This Wiwa advocated while serving in the Rivers state cabinet, as state commissioner for Education during the Deiete-Spiff administration and which cost him his job in 1973. Wiwa was appointed by General Ibrahim Babangida as part of the transition team into democracy rule, but Wiwa would later resign because he considered IBB to be insincere with the Nigeria people. Ken Saro-Wiwa led a non-violent fight against marginalisation and environmental degradation of Ogoniland(and to an extent the entire Niger-Delta) through the Movement for the Survival of Ogoni People(MOSSOP). This agitation cost him his life in 1995 under the brutal Gen Sani Abacha. His execution was very instrumental in gaining the sympathy of the world towards the Niger-Delta cause.

Wiwa's life as a novelist proved that the pen is indeed mightier than the sword.

May God bless everyone that showed solidarity to the people of Ogoni and all Niger-Deltans during the period of Saro-Wiwa's persecution.

Wiwa's Famous Quote

This is not to deny the prominence of other greats from our region but I hope you understand.

Now let us roll...

1. Oba Akenzua II of Benin Kingdom
https://41.media.tumblr.com/03abc5bfdbdbe4ae40a2ced8b592aea0/tumblr_mjd67llgEO1s4t0wlo1_400.jpg
(1899-1978):

The Omo n'Oba n'Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Akenzua II was the first son of the late Oba Eweka II of Benin kingdom. He was born in 1899 and assumed the throne of his fathers in 1933 after the demise of his Great father, the King. As the monarch of the Benin kingdom, he was a member of the Western region House of Chiefs.
His Heroic
Oba Akenzua II was not only instrumental to the realisation of an automous MidWest region from the then Western region, he also played active role all through this period of agitation pre and during the Premiership of Obafemi Awolowo and Ladoke Akintola of the Action Group. Make no mistake, Akenzua II was a member of the Awo's cabinet(as a minister without portfolio), his son was a member of AG and even contested election under the AG(but lost), yet it never stopped him from agitating for MidWest Region that will bring government close to his people in Midwest. One unique thing about this great man was that his agitation was for a referendum to be held among people of the midwest. He never advocated for violence nor preached hate towards the Yorubas. Even when Western Premier(Awo) went as far as creating Ministry of Midwest to take care of some of their problems, it never stopped the agitation for an autonomous MidWest region. As God will have it, a referendum was finally held in 1963 and the Midwest region was created on August 11, 1963. It is worthy to note that the Midwest referendum is the ONLY referendum that has ever been held in Nigeria. Oba was so selfless that he wasn't interested in assuming the premiership of the New Midwest unlike most politicians. Thumbs up to the Great Oba Akenzua II.

Notable mention: E.O Imafidon, Chike Ekwuyasi, JO Odigie, Omo-Osagie, Dennis Osadebe, Dalton Asemota, Okotie-Eboh and every midwesterners(Delta and Edo states) that championed and believed in the struggle.

The Western region must also be commended because after the referendum, they held send-off in their parliament and exchanged hugs and pleasantries. They understood that the agitation wasn't borne out of hatred but the need to bring government closer to the people.

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has reacted to the statement by Enugu-based fire-brand catholic priest, Rev. Father Ejike Mbaka, where he called on the pro-Biafran youths protesting and causing discomfort to innocent Nigerians, to go back to their businesses as the protests could lead to their death.

During a sermon at his weekly Adoration Ministry, Mbaka criticised Biafra supporters who embarked on the protests across South-East and some South-South states, to demand Nnamdi Kanu’s release.

Mbaka had said: "Locking up your shops and disrupting economic activities will not add any naira to your pocket, whatever grievance you have could be resolved through dialogue."

But in a reaction to Father Mbaka statement, the Biafra group said
the popular pastor is a compromised priest speaking from both sides of his mouth. Deputy Leader of IPOB, Uche Mefor, who fired back at him, stressed that “Biafra is more than money!”
Uche Mefor noted that the youths are protesting against injustice, oppression and subjugation, which is the motivating factor leading them to seek their freedom.

The Radio Biafra deputy leader wondered why Mbaka who is a pastor could not condemn the government’s who he accused of extrajudicial detention of Kanu. He also advised him to refute his statement.

According to Uche Mefor, Biafran youths have seen the truth having been enlightened by Radio Biafra.

We Need Good Leadership In The South East Not Biafra by Crazyman - A Rebuttal

Thank you for finding time to comment on the on going agitation in the SE by IPOB. Your opinions are wonderful yet intrinsically individual, know that you are an easterner. But your line of criticism is akin to what is obtainable at a bus stop after a Barca - Bayern game. Nwanne, okwu ana aso anya anaghi ebi gbooo.

Lets take a look at your postulations:-

* Do Biafra need ''powerful'' Igbo leaders to succeed? Can you kindly cast more light on that word powerful? Do you know what a generation mean? Have you heard about breaking the jinx? Why not speak for yourself as an incapacitated being who is unable to change his situation? Everyone cannot have your line thinking.

You need some tutorials about revolution. Zik, Awolowo, Balewa, Enahoro et al, were they ''powerful'' in the colonial days? Were they Emirs, Obas, Obis, VC's Ministers, Entrepreneurs during the struggle for Nigerian independence? How did they win? The so called powerful Igbo leaders are not key to the struggle.

If not for the fact that you are one of the faceless entities on Nairaland.com, i would have offered you a copy of Mandela's Long Walk To Freedom for your perusal. Before his incarceration, he was just a member of ANC's youth wing. He was never among the top ranking members of ANC yet he changed the history of South Africa. If you are given South African visa now, you will host a thanksgiving service before jetting out of the country.

* Jobs are created. They are not oil that is just drilled and sold. You mentioned government agencies that will relieve Biafrans of their current positions at the emergence of Biafra. Your common sense never told you that there will be similar parastatals in Biafra? Do you realise that Biafra is a country? Whatever office and trappings of officialdom you may have seen in Nigeria will also be in BIafra with excellent modifications.
You wrote about Exodus and its likely consequences. The exodus you witness every december in Igboland during december period, who takes care of it? Today, Lagos as a city ticks. Why if i may ask? Its only an issue of population and nothing else. One Biafra is flooded with returnees, meeting their daily needs is the business that empower and employ people worldwide.
But what percentage of Igbos do you have in government employment? Igbos are more of productive and functional entrepreneurs. After all in Nigeria the Igbos created their empires via independent input and subsequently pays tax to the FG. Don't worry, Biafrans will never miss Nigeria.

* SE is not impoverished. We are doing better than many states in the west and north. Anambra has a better road network than Lagos state. You may not know all this unless you are a frequent traveller and can compare and contrast. Our town unions help the state government extensively in core developmental projects. You can get to any part of Anambra in thirty miniutes on a good road. Among the Igbos, when there is no light, generator are always standing by.
Do we lack well equipped primary and secondary schools in South East yet Imo state has the highest number of professors in Nigeria? [refer to NUC]. In the national school enrollment and graduation index, all Igbo speaking states except Ebonyi ranks among the first 10. Drinking water - has any Igbo speaking state suffered from any water related epidemic? O no na ndo fu onwa no n'igwe.
I love this quotation of yours ''It is time for the Igbo youth to come together and reverse the trend of ubiquitious leadership ravishing Igboland and put a system that would enable the best of us emerge as leader'' This dream of yours is what Biafra has come to achieve. The process has begun with non-violent protest championed by those born in Biafra-the youths!

* Inability to stand independently. One of African Icons ans Igbo man, Nnamdi Azikiwe-Zik is a classic example to thrash your thinking. He sailed to the Americas empty handed and came back with just knowledge to liberate Nigeria from colonial dominance. Thus, so may Igbos of this age. Are aware that orphans are successes today?

You painted Ebonyi as a poor state, they must be the least in Igboland. In Biafra, the way Nigeria drilled oil from Niger Delta to develop Lagos, Abuja and host of other states, the excesses of Anambra, Imo, Enugu and Abia states will be used revamp Ebonyi. This and more is what you will see how it will be programmed seamlessly. Tag along with this slogan ...............onye aghala nwanne ya.

I am Happy you mentioned Rochas as a deviant governor from the SE region for exporting a business that would have been done better at Ariara-Aba to China. He is an ApC governor. Anambra state under Mr. Obi bought more government vehicles from Innoson Motors. Thats the real Igbo signature.

* Dis-unity and inability to make accurate political calculations. Biko, are you a student of Lai Mohammed and Western Nigeria press? Did you think for yourself to come up with this or you are regurgitating what you have been feed? You need some demographic research and tutulage on the characteristics of each of the component make up of Nigeria. Igbos are republican in nature. However, Igbos are no more interested in Nigerian presidency, Biafra is a better option. But how many Jews are presidents in America.

SE without major FG presence has made quantum leap in all areas of life. In this century, they want to use Biafra to show the world that man has solutions to man made challenges. Just give Biafra a chance and you will see that Dubai is a childs play.
Bros I thank you very plentiful for your comments. I would have been tempted to say your rebuttal to the myopic views expressed by Crazyman was a waste of your precious time but sometimes if fallacies are left a minute to live, they could turn into substantive references to dumbass clowns in the same social stratum as the author. The crap from the Crazyman has been consigned to the dustbin.

Yes, bros!! The 15th Brigade he commanded was chased from Oguta all the way to Elele Alinmini. He even sent SOS to Army HQ. The undiscipile vandals took out the frustration on the Ogba people accusing them of letting their Igbo brothers through the track roads.

Politics › Re: PUBLIC OPINION: What An Ordinary Akwa Ibomite, Feels About Biafra by Duru1(m): 6:04pm On Nov 13, 2015
Lordsocrates:
PUBLIC OPINION: What An Akwa Ibomite, feel about biafra, (A days experience at the An Akwa ibom Park)

"EKPEKAB EWOD MmMO UKED" how i wish, they would kill them all, exclaimed one woman, as another narrated her experience, n traveling to Aba.

moving closer with my school back, i got to feel the womans frustration, as she was cursing the protesters, whose protest led to the closure of the market, hence her trip there a futility.
At that point, another man, who was also standing with us, awaiting the "Akwa Ibom Ado Owk" bus, (a long marcopolo bus, for conveying people cheaply from Uyo to Oron for #200 as against #600 ) quibed in, "Nkor Mmoh Enam fuel Asoboh mm"(shey they are responsible for this fuel scarcity.
he then went into the long process of lambasting them, stating how selfish they are as a group, how they would always want to eat their cake and have it, another went joined, starting how happy he was to see thw military shoot at them in Rivers, how their leader escaped, leaving the others to be arrested and remanded in custody,
Another now lamented how stupid those protesters are, stating that most of those arrested now would never see the light of day, that he's uncles nephew, that got arrested in a showdown like this, during Obasanjo's era to this day, have not been heard of,
then another contributed "yak mmoh eki try ndisemeh mmo ado mi oo, mak mfinah" (let dem not try that their rubbish here oo, to avoid trouble"...
then the driver, now added, "nkor ekpeh eyung eyak mmoh eyonghor, yak eduok emem" (they should be alowed to go, so that we can have piece"

It was at this point that i made my own contribution "nkor emeh diongho keh mmo ebor keh nyin yeh mmo idonghor kiet ke biafra ?" (shey, you all know that, "they" believe that we "ibibion" and them belong in biafra ?)
to that question i got an Unanimous "Abasi Akan(God forbid), "Itipekeh (not happening) and other words showing total disagreement...
At that point, one Igbo man, joined sayinf, "shey una Akpabio marry Igbo woman, we are one na, Uneghe yhe ibibio, ido kiet(igbo and ibibio, we are one)
it waa then that the angry throng turn on him, sone asking him what he was doing here, some telling him to go and join his...... brothers, another asking how peaceful (IKA and neighboring igbo community has been living, fighting and killing each other till date).
With that, i had this sense of fulfilment in me, that my people, dreaded the "biafran nightmare as i did, and didn't want any part of it.... from the experience in #AKWA Ibom city park, Mbiabong# its obvious, Akwa Ibomite, and probably Cross Riveriens(our sister) do not share an inch of the Biafran dream..

we are Nigerians, and if the worst comes to the worst, we would rather be on our own, than join the Biafranz..
11-12-2015...

At this point, i checked my watch to discover that i wont catch up with my evenings schedule, if have to wait, for the bus, thus i mopped my entire pocket, held the proceeds and reluctantly headed to the taxi to pay triple the amount #650. instead of 2
#200, officially am going home broke, thank God though its home.. lolz.

There is no physical force needed. Those who want to join Biafra will do so while those who want to remain in Nigeria will have their opportunity. These bus people should wait and see how difficult it will to come to Biafra for buying goods. They will need to apply for visa and wait for the approval. grin grin

mowah:
Since the beginning of General Mohammadu Buhari's regime, the igbos have been bringing up this issue of Biafra republic and probably a Biafran war II, claiming to have been regarded the least in the Nigerian government and mainly because of their oil Rich Land which the rest don't have, well, I guess they are only looking at this issue from a myopic point of view, why don't we look at the benefits of one Nigeria rather than a biafra and a Nigeria. The facts remains if Nigeria were to be divided
1.we wont be africas largest economy
2. We wont have won the fifa u-17 world cup
3. Nollywood would no longer exist
4. We wont have won the #kenyansvsnigerians twitter war grin
5. Most importantly, we wont be giant of Africa any longer
6. (I leave it up to nairalanders to complete)

TO all my Igbo brothers, let's forget about biafra, and let's all work to build a better Nigeria, probably, the giant of the world,
Here I bring you some heart breaking pictures of the biafran war (1967-1970) to show you all that war is a senseless and unnecessary thing.
The other side (Nigeria) needs to have the taste of perils of war if they attempt to stop Biafra this time around. What makes you think that war this time around should fought on the Biafra soil. Next time, every place in Nigeria should be a war front.

Management and leadership skills are paramount.
You must understand that running a governmental ministry is different from managing individual business outfit.

Right, so the countries I mentioned have individuals with heads above their shoulders but their counterparts in Nigeria are headless?
You are far losing the little bit of objectivity you still possess, our bile-filled elder. Every comment you post shows you enjoy being disagreeable just for the sake of it. angry

Instead of leveraging bombast, as you are wont to do, why don't you regale us with examples which actually buttress your point?
Too much to ask? Or is it that you are simply shooting the breeze, with the hope that those of us who know your antecedents won't notice tongue
No, I am going with the wind of Nigeria as it blows across other substantive countries as you posited in your previous post. There is country I know and before anybody is allowed to head any ministry, regardless of individual's academic qualification, the person is required to have rudimentary knowledge of what the ministry does. The expertise or lack thereof on the day to day activities of department should be known on the floor of Senate during confirmation hearing. In the case of Nigeria, it was a plain circus of idiocy played out on individual idiosyncrasy as accustomed to Nigerians.
