Truckpusher: It is easier for a thief to call another man a thief because he feels that everyone is capable of his nefarious activities.
I'm an Ogba man from Egi land to be precise which is home to two major multinationals , with an arable land mass and constant supply of fresh water from river sombreiro and Orashi river. I'm from the Imeagi family and my mom is Epkeye( Ahoada ) agwolo ishi koloko family of akoh family. I bet you have no idea what these names means . So pray tell how am I Igbo( Isoma) ? How are we related. Does cultural affiliation determine ones ethnicity ? You have German speaking people in Austria and you've got French speaking people in Belgium does that change their identity. You even have English speaking people in Brittany in France soil does that make them English ? You have the Navajo speaking people in North America can you classify them as native Americans or American Indians? My friend go and sleep and stop hallucinating here and end your phantom agitation in your five Eastern states because any attempt to encroach an inch into the land of the Niger Delta man shall be met with the use of force.....Go figure..... You jumped into a subject you know very little about. I am not interested in your silly bastardization of nomenclatures in local vernacular in part because of colonization and attempt on delusional denial of oneself. What have been Igbo speaking in Nigeria got to do with Biafra? The IPOB had said that not every dumbass that pass as Igbo will make a citizen in the reconstituted Biafra. I shall be happy to see you as Igbo speaking in Nigeria while the rest of us remain the Igbo speaking in Biafra. In the Belgium, there are native Dutch, French and German. The French in Belgium are not denying their ethnicity as French so do other two. |

Minister of Power, India
P.S - I have purposely stayed clear of more developed countries, where oblong pegs are usually placed in triangular holes You are trying to compare Oranges and Apples. Nigeria needs a foundation laying experts who can lead by example. The countries you have so far mentioned have individuals with heads above their shoulders. However, you have failed to tell what experiences the appointees had in the sector before been appointed ministers. In most developed countries where certain individual may have obtained certificate in education but widely knowledgeable in power industries. Nigeria, as far as I am concerned, is practical joke. Were the ministerial appointees grilled on the rudimental knowledge of ministry he/she will head? Rather what was obtained in the Senate during the confirmation hearing was circus of deluded jackasses. |

FisifunKododada:
You will be surprised how many Nigerians (Yorubas for example) are in full support of the actualization of Biafra. I spoke to a Lagos state indigene who told me how the overpopulation of Lagos is largely driven by Igbos running out of the South East. To make matters worse, when these Igbos get to Lagos are large segment of them always display an arrogant disrespect for the culture of the State. At one time, the Igbos in Lagos wanted to install an Igbo King in Lagos - with the help of Akinwumi who lost the election. I can guarantee you, that the day Igbos vacate SW the Yoruba people will celebrate publicly on the streets. So don't think that people are stopping you from forming your own country. Many want you to leave and go back to the East. Please, do it quickly. And also make sure you vacate every major city in the North too. I guess the above write-up would have been unnecessary if the Yoruba people who fought against Biafra in 60s were wiser. It brings to point that stupidity usually is inherent. |

obailala: Your own interpretation of the situation ironically proves you to be the stuppid one here. The problem of power in Nigeria is an administrative/management problem and not an engineering problem. Meanwhile the so called professor of Mechanical engineering that was made power minister previously, what did he achieve?... The engineering professor even claimed the problem of power was witches and wizards.
I'm sure you are a graduate, but unfortunately, paper certificate (irrespective of the grade) does not guarantee intelligence. It is people like you who believe a president must study POLITICAL SCIENCE in school. I guess you are not confusing Mechanical with Electrical Engineering. There must be a need for rudimental knowledge of how a system works before anyone can lead by example. Nigeria that houses individuals such as you is a dead end. Per the bold, I guess your foolery will not allow you to understand the connation of the word, graduate. |

mbulela: By: Osigwe Omo IkirodahOct 31, 2015
The itinerant luxury bus medicine dealer starts with prayers, sings choruses and sells fake ‘omnipotent’ drugs to both the sick and the healthy. He touts a particular knowledge of staphylococcus and expertise in improving watery sperms and weak erections. He will suggest his bag contains cures for every known disease. He will jump off the bus but not before he is done . He tells tales like the ‘zoo’ story, playing on the vulnerabilities of an impoverished and ignorant society. The police escort on the bus stands aside and lets his aloofness authenticate the scam . The consequences will fall on pockets but more on public health. When they realize it is not benevolence the nomad has dropped off the bus. The sons of Sceva have taken center stage. It is noble and often effective to ignore obnoxious attention seekers. But when rabble rousers show signs of lunacy they deserve attention. Because when speech comes to be filled with hate and incitement to violence , continuing silence becomes recklessness. When the rabble is roused, devilry is afoot and typically dissent is not brooked. Soon Igbos whose opinions contradict radio Biafra and its reprobates will become enemies of the land, saboteurs or Efulefus (misfits). And since hysteria occludes reason, fellow Biafrans , supposedly shackled by ‘zoo’ keepers , would be the first targets because , like the Hutus and their interahamwe theorized, an efulefu is worse than the real enemy. Biafra should be sacred because at the cost of over a million lives with torture and horror on scales that make Rwanda pardonable , Biafra should be strictly ‘out of the reach of children’. Biafra should not be trivialized or desecrated, neither by conceited scoffers nor by peripatetic con men with confused minds and mobile radio transmitters. When shadowy megalomaniacs given to flimsiness and gifted with volubility run out of life options but seek emergence from obscurity, nothing is sacred. You can wonder if they contemplated opening a church and selling fake gospel before opting for Biafra . Yes, shed anonymity like Simon the socerer , the man from Gitta, by holding people bound with spells of charm, magic and sophistry until those who can find them him out. But I guess Igbo politics is so bereft of integrity and purpose and destitute of true apostles now that radio Biafra can continue with its sorcery for quite sometime . But the tragedy is that, like Simon who later took to following the apostles with magic in his pocket and greed in his heart, these latter day Biafran magicians insinuated themselves into Ojukwu’s politics, temporarily and only for ulterior interests. Simon, the wolf, needed apostolic clothing . His flirtation with Christianity, like the pimps hawking Biafra, would yield money but will adulterate doctrines and values . There is no pogrom. Igbos are not under any life threatening siege. These hustlers are enticed by Ojukwu’s fame. Yet they wont form a political party as he did and mobilize the people. No. They do not even want a referendum. They want guns and bullets. They , with irritating nonchalance , say violence is unavoidable. Their Biafra is a sham. Simon, like many fake pastors today, profited from hoodwinking the public, selling the counterfeit . Like fake pastors , these Biafran speculators do incalculable damage to the authentic concept by inviting mockery and scorn rather than belief, dignity and conversion. Radio Biafra has made a laughing stock of the Igbos. Charlatans, whether on buses selling fake drugs or on Radio Biafra polluting Biafra , selling adulterated toxic freedom, can be charming. And many susceptible to razzmatazz succumb to the seduction of the false promise of paradise. Biafra is dear to many Igbos and is guarded jealously. Though perhaps a mere vent for ethnic chauvinism for those devoted to chest beating and superficiality. For many thoughtful Igbos and many who saw the war or its aftermath, the attachment is more meaningful and deeply emotional. A struggle against murderous oppression. An excruciating toil to withstand death before a ‘no victor no vanquished’ gallant capitulation . A collective resolve to overcome annihilation, to grasp at freedom, to pursue greatness undeterred by staggering odds. Biafra is hope in the face of impossibility. Hopefully, the scar of a bad wound. Igbos are sensitive to the contempt Biafra receives from others whose sense of patriotism or of conceit , as conquerors, mandate a disdain for the supposed vanquished and anything Biafra . All who cant help but see Biafra as real nuisance. As an impracticable fantasy , a manifestation of the perceived greed and domineering tendency of Igbos whose crude penchant for disregarding bounds of propriety is consuming. These victors are often confounded by the egotism and vainglory they read in the attitude of Igbos towards Biafra, and the incongruous air of triumphalism they furnish themselves even from that defeat. When scorn is poured on Biafra rather than the fraudsters peddling its counterfeit , Igbos are forced into defensive sympathy with charlatans. Only a few doubt that the breathtaking ingenuity , imagination , creativity and resourcefulness worthy of veneration that Biafra unveiled can be owned, even fleetingly, without feeling special. Biafra , in spite of the horrors, manages to leave some room for some nostalgia. Some still regret the loss of a greatness that could have been or that had begun. That wistfulness must be more harrowing 45 years after, ‘one Nigeria’ still imports toothpicks. The susceptibility of some Igbos to the incantations of radio Biafra is not therefore totally inexplicable Biafra isn’t just unity and oneness , it is justice, moral justice. Because regardless of the interpretation that may be given to the events leading up to the pogrom , the pogrom in itself, in being allowed to fester unrestrained, in its scale , was egregious evil. Innocent everyday people hunted and disemboweled? The pogrom made Biafra almost inevitable. Then the agony of dying and death of infants in state sponsored starvation . Asaba saw savagery that the Hutus in their murderous prime may not have matched. Recurrences of disturbances and dislocations have continued to grate scars. And persistence of injustice and lack of equity continue to make the idea attractive to many. And groups are morally and legally entitled to right to self determination. Biafra is not necessarily treason. But true freedom fighters are easy to discern. Personal sacrifice, dedication, honesty to the course and painstakingness make freedom fighting not just arduous and valorized but a vocation not undertaken by flippant merry making fellows attending wild and wet parties thousands of kilometres from where the shackles are. It doesn’t start and end with delusions of grandeur and with threats of making Nigeria worse than Somalia . A shallow , scheming , manipulator remarkable for overt opportunism and glibness cannot be a freedom fighter. A man of promise? A visionary rather than a scoundrel? Mbanu, no. And because the number of many lives and livelihoods needed to service these delusions , to catapult to a position of some influence , money and crumbs of power is subservient to such outsized ambitions , mania rather than sheer cruelty could be responsible. Desperation impairs diligence and cautionary appraisal. When frustration and hopelessness engender or entangle desperation even a drug addict hallucinating in the right direction , any direction of remote promise, will be embraced. And they, his zombies, believe that Nigeria is a zoo. Yes impunity reigns here. But there is no lopsided distribution of social evils. Prophecy has taken the place of philosophy, even in universities. And practicing atheists clothe their guiles with the refrain “ to God be the glory”. It does appear that any hallucinating youth , incapable of sobriety and self reflection let alone charity, can , if he chooses, become an emancipator, a messiah. Igbos have a God that is exclusively theirs, we are now told . Europe has a secret she wont admit – the realization of Biafra would end human existence. When he speaks red herrings, syllogisms, fabrications and confabulations tumble over themselves. “ We are being deported and killed in Lagos. Our shops have all been burnt. So we need guns and bullets …… Everything happens in triangles, Hausa Fulani fixed Rochas in Owerri , once they take Uyo and Port Harcourt , we are finished “. He pauses and lets a sardonic smile create an impression of wizadry. Inscrutability is lent to the mundane to create mystery. Everything , blasphemy included, is done so barefacedly that cringing is forced on the audience. Archbishops now sprout overnight, like weeds. So a depressed charlatan can look at himself in a mirror in London and see an emperor and look in the atlas, see Igbo land , and say “ Yes I can”. Yes, he is the leader of a new farce. The fellow whose pedigree needs some archeological excavation to unearth, in a society where even confessed fraudsters publish colourful biographies and flaunt their habitation of the National Assembly. He remains deliberately as rootless as a ‘UFO’. But pedigrees and values and convictions are superfluities where vice competes with virtue for honors. The last time a similarly named apparition hovered around Abuja, he was choreographing a charade that was earnestly, in all honesty, yearning for servitude. A Nigeria where equity and fairness reigns, where lives and property are sacrosanct, where potentials are maximized, is Biafran. It is not a sin, however, to seek self determination. It is not a sin to canvass iconoclastic political options and alternatives. But these endeavours must respect the rights of the collective enshrined in the constitution. Boko haram wants a sharia region and they could have gone about it sanely. When greedy politicians recruited sharia to exploit the people they laid foundations for radical Islamic fundamentalism because they sold the counterfeit. They sought not societal transformation but private political profit. And that was why even boko haram managed to attract sympathy rather than blanket scorn in their early days. They came selling fake sharia. Things have gone full circle and the northeast is decimated. March visited gnashing of teeth on may southern politicians . Let these politicians leave Biafra out of their intrigues. Ojukwu we know, Achuzia we know , Okpara we know, Mbakwe we know, Ekwueme we know, Nwabueze we know. But who are these? Sceva’s sons have arrived.

Yoti: NIGERIAN ENGINEERS: A lawyer heading Power sector, Works & Housing. Am imagining a day where an Engineer will be appointed to minister Justice or Health sector. Where are the Engineers? What an insult? When shall we start fighting for our right and proving our professional integrity and ethics? Fashola is a man of integrity, full of knowledge and wisdom. No one is doubting his capability when it comes to project delivery but heading power sector, works and housing is a challenge to the Engineering family. How many equations a lawyer can solve before engaging into Engineering affairs? NSE, NATE, NISET, etc. Does it mean that Nigeria lacks professional (Engineer) that posses all qualities to head Power, Works and Housing ministry? Nigeria, your quest for economic growth will not be possible without Technology. Senior Engineers are sleeping & busy counting their years of experience in practice while younger once are crying for their future. God have mercy, I hope that I haven't make a wrong choice of career... This is one major reason Nigeria is a certified failure. You have Lawyers talking about road, bridge and other engineering projects. In the other hand you have physicians and engineers heading banking sector. You have Arabists (Arabic Studies) in charge of Banking system. You have lawyers in charge of health sector. What a zoo. |

IS THE SOUTH EAST REALLY DEVELOPED?
We need to define development, South east has a robust economy no doubt but I ask, is it not what they are about to destroy with this agitation, what was left of the SE in 1970 after the first agitation? is that what we really want?
When I visit the SE, I see a lot of individual efforts more than I see collective government responsibility being fulfilled, is that what we confuse for development? over 20yrs most places in Enugu rely on tankers for clean water unlike the 80's when the government provided water for everyone through the water board, such collective infrastructures are lacking in the whole of south east not just Enugu. Enugu and Anambra are the only SE states that can boast of good road network the rest are cesspits of varying degrees of gullies, from Abia to Ebonyi, so why are we confusing individual efforts with development?
You built your house, I build mine is not development but individual effort, when you start benefiting from Government/cooperative provided low cost houses with Govt/cooperative provided access roads, central sewage, incinerator, electricity and security only then will you feel you are developed, as we chat, one of the most expensive estates in the SE Ngozika estate in Awka lack these amenities that people elsewhere consider basic yet we call that development, I disagree completely. The South eastern Governors owe the people more than Abuja does, the fire power of the street demo of last week should be directed at the incompetent Governors that have left the South east comatose over years.
ARE THE IGBOS REALLY MARGINALIZED?
I am happy that Nnamdi Kanu did not succeed in twisting that part of our history, the Nigerian government won in battle as such there are consequences in defeat, I make out time from my busy schedule to enlighten people who are willing to learn on the consequences of their agitation, you don't go to battle and lose then expect your life to remain the same, there is agony in defeat Igbos should know better, let me take you on a tour round the world to buttress this situation so you can go and enlighten those urchins that blocked my office last week.
Japan today is not allowed to conscript their own soldiers beyond a particular number monitored by the united states who have repackaged the situation as an alliance yet by proxy undermining the sovereignty of Japan, do you have any idea how many military bases the US is maintaining in Japan? as at today, the US has 3 airforce bases (Kadena, Misowa and Yokota), 3 Army bases (camp zana, forte burtner and Tori station), 13 marine corps bases (courtney, fuji Gonsalves etc) and 4 Naval bases. A total of 23 military installations in another man's soil.
Can we see clearly that Japan is Under US occupation militarily (what Nnamdi Kanu will call military bondage) never mind their level of development and accomplishments, do you think the Japanese will not want to return to the pre WW2 era when they had a military that could match the US, soldier to soldier, combat to combat? today they have lost that privilege thanks to their defeat at Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Let me take you to South America, since Argentina was defeated in the Falkland conflict, the Argentine Government is denied of all the revenues accrual from that prosperous Island that originally belongs to them as a matter of fact, they are behind a territorial marker set by the British, Argentina MUST seek the permission of the British to use or Visit an Island that originally belonged to them that is the agony of defeat.
Lets go to the Middle east, since Palestine never won Israel in any of their recent conflicts, West bank and Gaza strip has remained under perpetual occupation and subjugation, it is so bad that as little as food rations and medicines has to be approved by Israel before the people of Palestine will feed, that is the Agony of defeat.
Let us go to Europe, I need not say much here but for the sake of enlightenment, below are the conditions given to the Germans after their WW1 defeat, the document is called, "Treaty of Versailles", Nnamdi Kanu doesn't know this much I suppose.
1) Germany had to accept the Blame for starting the war (Clause 231). This was vital because it provided the justification for harsh treatments 2) Germany had to pay £6.6 million (called Reparations) for the damage done during the war. 3) Germany was forbidden to have submarines or an air force. She could have a navy of only six battleships, and an Army of just 100,000 men. In addition, Germany was not allowed to place any troops in the Rhineland, the strip of land, 50 miles wide, next to France. 4). Germany’s colonies were given to Britain and France, Germany was forbidden to join the League of Nations, or unite with Austria. 5) SAAR coal fields belonging to germany was given to France to operate for 15yrs 6) Poland will be given a corridor into the Baltic cutting off East prussia from Germany 7) Posen a very rich farm land given to Poland free Danzig will be owned by the League of Nations (our modern day United nations) 9) Alsace Lorraine will be given to France free 10) Eupen and Malmedy will be given to Belgium free 11) North Shelswig given to Denmark free 12) Germany was not allowed to unite with Austria which leaves Germany as a tiny, land locked desolate piece of land
You see young people, Nnamdi Kanu is feasting on the ignorance of most of you, can you compare what US did to Japan or what the League of Nations did to Germany with your 20 pounds saga?
If Bi@fr@ was Japan, Imagine if Nigeria sends military administrators to rule over all the states in Bi@fr@ with military bases everywhere to ensure you guys don't cough, for your importation business and the likes, you must seek permission from Nigeria before you can do that, how would you feel? japan has lived through that agony for over 50yrs.
If Germany was Bi@fr@, can you imagine Half of Bi@fr@ land will be seeded to Cameroon and the rest given to Benin Republic, how would you feel? Germany lived through that between 1914-1948, matter of fact the wall of Berlin actually fell in 1991, can you extrapolate the agony of the Germans in such situation? that is the Agony of defeat, in your case you were given 20 pounds and you are complaining, bros, it could have been worse, Nnamdi Kanu knowing that you have no idea the terms of the Versailles treaty, sold you the 20 pounds saga and you hated Nigeria for it, that is what propaganda does to feeble minds.
Bi@fr@ was not punished enough for their rebellion going by what was obtainable at the time, I believe that is why there are still individuals who want to cross that line again, make no mistakes, this time around no one can predict what lies ahead.
I have written here severally that Nigeria will take all Igbo properties in Nigeria if they get Bi@fr@, a lot of people don't believe me do you know why, because they are not enlightened enough to read the land use act of 1978. That law gives Nigeria the legal Justification to do that and not even United Nations will fault that, because Nigeria had the law before Biafra broke away hence it will not be adjudged as a form of punishment, be careful what you wish for because very few of you can actually see the end of your Bi@fr@n Journey.
They claim Igbos are the most developed yet they beg for development again, are they not speaking from the two compasses of their mouth? Instead of brooding about who will develop you, why wont Igbos synergize to form a common political front that will project the Igbo interest beyond umbrages? afterall, Nnamdi Azikiwe and Nwafor orizu were all igbos who operated at the highest level of governance in Nigeria, go back to that formula and you will get what you deserve, how do you expect a government you are rebelling against to help you? How many votes did you give to Buhari to help you? Jonathan a Bi@fr@n (by Nnamdi Kanu's conjecture) you supported fully, what did he do to develop you? If your own brother can not develop you, is it anarchy you will use to get your enemy to develop you? at what point will Igbos realize that Jonathan was a failed project, dust themselves up and re strategize on how to define their interest around APC?
Pushing for Bi@fr@ will be both political and geographical suicide, don't say I did not warn you guys!! Arrant nonsense!!! The sketches are so incoherent and analogies are at best idiotic. If Biafra has existed for year before Nigeria precipitate the war attrition on it, Nigeria would not have defeated it. |

It is pity most Nigerians are starkly ill-educated. Besides tribalism, the next inhibiting factor in Nigeria is dishonesty. There is no doubt you are not from SE hence the idiotic question about what they should eat. I guess you are the basement ninny feeding the SE today. Besides the idiotic SS crap, may I ask your ethnicity that you are so ashamed? By the way, one of the best economies in Africa is situated in a landlocked country with no single drop of crude oil. |

Buhari just dey look una wit one eye, yet una no wan get sense, u cover urselves under Biafra flag wit a protest u claim to be peaceful, yet u destroy properties and maybe lives too, and later u'll blame Nigerian police if they begin to shoot u biafrans at sight,,,most of u can't even give 2 good reasons why u want Biafra, ur just following d crowd, u can't link or have an opinion of ur own, u wanna fight Nigerian govt abi? U keep risking ur lives in d streets whereas d reasonable igbos like capital money and co are busy making their lives better, u think Enugu or Anambra wil turn to Dubai if Biafra is achieved, some pple are simply deluded in seeing facts before them... Ps, I don't need ur comments cos al u do is rain insult on anyone that doesn't believe in dis fraudish scam called biafra, wake up pple, wake up and receive sense.. #copied The above is a product typical of a mindset that belongs to idiotic Nigerians who would want to travel abroad to enjoy the fight of death by those who see self-determination as a key factor to good and prosperous life. Udmaster: This article is from me a Proud Igbo from Abia State. Can this Nnamdi Kanu Disciples see the kind of insults that are directed at the Great Igbos? Why not Republic of AlaIgbo INSTEAD of Biafra in which He went and started drawing a map which include Ijaws, Itsekiris etc. That Is Stupidity! IGBOS are Not Troublemakers, We are peaceful in nature, and have lived, intermarried and intertraded with our Neighbours(Ijaws, Ibibios etc) for years. Do NOT use the activity of Nnamdi Kanu and his followers to judge a whole IGBO NATION! Nnamdi Azikiwe played a part in creating this nation and we will stay and fight for our rights. Igbo Lands have been balkanized, some Igboid groups have denied being Igbo due to the stigma effect of the civil war, The Ohanaeze NdiIgbo should stand up and draw a plan on how to unite the Igbo People both in SE and SS even in Benue, Kogi, TOGETHER and they also build a political bridge with other part of the country inorder to produce a President of Igbo Extraction! I will NOT sit down and watch Nnamdi Kanu Activites attract insults to the Noble Igbos, what about our Investments in the North and South West? Are we going to forfeit them? Why including Ijaws, Itsekiris etc in his map without consulting them to know their opinion? FINALLY, No IGBO Governor, Senator, or great personality is supporting Nnamdi Kanu, Do Not Insult IGBOS because of his actions. If I want to Seceed, I will want a Republic Of AlaIgbo, it will contain all Igbos. If Lagos state with 3345km2 landmass can contain up to 20million people, then Abia state with 5,430km2 landmass can contain 30million people! FYI, The South East is bigger than Israel, Rwanda, Singapore, Gabon etc in landmass. Republic Of AlaIgbo. NOT Biafra. You are a confused Igbo man to say the lest. What make you think that Biafra of today is a replica of Biafra of yesteryears? Most Nigerians lacked the ability of push-pull thought process hence the worst country on earth with reasonable amount of resources. Have you be able to see the inmost working committee of Nnamdi Kanu and his new IPOB? Now, there is nothing opting for Republic of Igbo land which I strongly supported over Biafra but I shall not publicly criticize Nnamdi Kanu for a thing I know little about except junks from news media. Being an Igbo man does not make you a silly arbiter of what should constitute the IPOB. |

Obiagu1: People get wiser as they grow old. If there's any growth intellectually in the SS, they should have learnt one thing or another from Nigeria and dangers the future portends.
You have asked for resource control for over how many years now, asking from people that should not, in the first place, be in control of your destiny and your resources.
Unfortunately, there seem to be no wisdom in the SS. How many of them know how long Nigerian oil are meant to last? If they do, they will know they don't have time. It's either they make full use of their resources now or suffer down the line.
You are asking for 30% from an Hausa man when you can get 100% from Biafra. There's no wisdom, there is none. I have no pity whatsoever for those scallywags that parade themselves as south-south and remains the main reason I strongly insist on the Republic of Igbo land. I guess not every domesticated jackass is worthy of being a compatriot. There are those who will remain a fool forever, period. |

RisingSun1: Who made these people elders?
I can recall that the first city that started this protest was PH last month. The first PH protest was done by Rivers IPOB no outside help.
It was due to heavy clampdown by security agencies in Rivers not to stage another protest that Rivers IPOB had to call in members from neighbouring states for assistance.
These must be Rivers APC elders, because many rivers indigenes are in detention because of this protest while these socalled elders are here talking rubbish.
If all the people in this pic are from other state, then where are the Rivers indigenes in the streets of Port Hartcourt? Bros in Nigeria any dumbass could be president talk less of elders. It worries to hear people say why is Nigeria in awkward predicament politically, socially and economically. The fool from Port Harcourt will be one of those empty-headed Nigerians who jump onto wagon in support of Ken Saro-Wiwa. Yet the jackass also will forget the doctrine espoused by Wiwa which he said that "Self-determination is a God-given right which should be exercised by the people should they want it". |

Epaul: Prohibitive sections runs ring over other sections in a rather ambiguous statute. It is in light of that i think section 138 supersedes section 5(1)(a) on the scale of constitutional strength and equality as section 138 is a prohibitive section while section 5(1)(a) is not. Or do you think Section 5(1)(a) thumps Section 138 - "the president shall not, during his tenure of office, hold any OTHER EXECUTIVE OFFICE or paid employment in any capacity whatsoever".?
I'm aware the Judiciary is torn in two minds about the matter. This thread is my little contribution to the conundrum as a constitutional law student. Bros do not waste your time with moronic Nigerians who will pound their empty heads on the wall screaming “our elders are our political problem” yet only turn around to quote the craps from the same condemned elders. How could section 5(1)(a) thump section 138 which is prohibitive? This can only be a formative thought process in the mind of a deluded Nigerian. |

QuotaSystem: Ndigbo Hail Buhari Over Ministerial Portfolios
Ndigbo Cultural Society of Nigeria (NCSN) has congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari for appointing Ndigbo with worthy ministerial portfolios which complements the recent appointments of federal permanent secretaries. The group noted that the recent appointments by Buhari indicated that the president is beginning to correct the earlier alleged posture of sectionalism.
We urge our ambassadors in the President Buhari administration to give their best to the nation and mankind, even though the economic fortunes of the country was at all time low, we expect our ambassadors to be shining lights at this dark end of the tunnel. “While we commend President Muhammadu Buhari,we also encourage him to still take a giant step forward and ensure that an Igbo is appointed into the six principal offices of the nation, possibly the position of the Secretary to the Federal Government (SGF), which will help Igbo leaders convince their kits and kin that no region is left behind in this government,” the group further stated. “Ndigbo Cultural Society of Nigeria (NCSN) would also like to plead with our people seeking self-determination to understand that, sometimes, your worst enemy could be your best friend and, therefore, for the avoidance of doubt, give President Muhammadu Buhari a chance to prove himself a friend or foe,” it concluded.
http://sunnewsonline.com/new/ndigbo-hail-buhari-over-ministerial-portfolios/ The writer of the above junk is dumbass swine. Ndiigbo had been appointed ministers in Nigeria even when a British was Governor-General. You and the Daura Dumbass can simply shove it. |
Politics › Re: The Self-appointment Of Buhari As Petroleum Minister Is Unconstitutional - Epaul by Duru1(m): 12:19am On Nov 13, 2015 |
Epaul: ok. I would have ordinarily left your post unreplied since you've honestly fessed up you are not in the loop about constitutionality. But for the fact i love your thought process, i'd answer your question.
As to the question of whether or not the president has the power 'to merger or scrap ministeries'? Yes the president has the power to merger or scrap ministeries. This is because by virtue of the combine effect of Section 5(1)(a), Section 130 and Section 147(1) of the 1999 constitution as amended, the president is constitutionally vested with broad executive powers. For example Section 5(1)(a) of the 1999 constitution provides “Subject to the provisions of this Constitution, the executive powers of the Federation shall be vested in the President and may subject as aforesaid and to the provisions of law made by the National Assembly, be exercised by him either directly or through the Vice-President and Ministers of the Government of the Federation or officers in the public service of the Federation” while section 147(1) provides that "There shall be such offices of Ministers of the Government of the Federation as may be established by the President." By virtue of Section 147 of the 1999 constitution it means the various ministries are tied to the apron string of the president who can appoint or sack the ministers of the various ministries. And as such the president can either merger, scrap or fashion out ministeries as may he may deem necessary for the effective implementation of it's policy. But it must be noted, however, here that the broad executive power of the president to either merge or scrap ministries it's not absolute as such executive power of the president takes the biscuit under the constitution in certain respect like under section 138 of the 1999 constitution which we would consider later. Having this in mind, let's look at your second question which appears like a claim even though you conceded it was an assumption.
Whether or not the president can annex ministries to the office of the presidency since he has the power to merger or scrap ministeries? Capital No! The import of Section 138 is that the president is constitutionally not brooked to annex ministries to his office. He can only merge or scrap ministries pursuant to section 5(1)(a) and 130 of the constitution. This is because annexing a ministry to the office of the presidency amounts to the president holding ANOTHER EXECUTIVE OFFICE as ministries are EXECUTIVE institutions and such is very unconstitutional. The position that the president cannot hold another executive office is expressly laid down under section 138 of the constitution which is a prohibitive section. The said section provides to wit: "the president shall not, during his tenure of office, hold any OTHER EXECUTIVE OFFICE(emphasis mine) or paid employment in any capacity whatsoever". Why does Section 138 prohibit the president for holding another executive office or any paid employment? It is simple. Those who framed our written constitution contemplated that the duties and functions of the president are onerous and it would amount to too much work-load for president to combine two offices at the same time. Another chief reason is to shield the president from distraction that comes with steering one too many affairs. It is for pretty much the same reason the president is immuned against litigation in his personal capacity pursuant to Section 308 of the 1999 constitution.
In conclusion, the president is like Adam in eden. Of all the ministries he can merger or scrap but of the merger of a ministry to his office he cannot pursuant to Section 138 of the 1999 constitution. Bros the essence of constitution is for use by humans of average intellect not for most Nigerians and Buhari included. Mahammudu Buhari is a man who does not know the day joined the Nigerian army. What a duck. |
