Other ethnic groups watched carefully and played their politics towards national relevance while we the Igbos got carried away and played politics of the pocket where semi- illiterate money bags charted the cause for us! Those who have access to Aso Rock and got fat contracts sustained the lies to hoodwink both Aso Rock Gods and the Igbos. In blind response devoid of any logical reasonings the Igbos put all their fragile eggs in one basket that had lost form and shape to protect them. As the results of those fatal errors set in the same money miss roads are now fanning the ambers of secession as their next meal ticket bargaining chip while the teaming youth they lure with money and lies risk losing everything including their lives for nothing in the end. Compare the Igbo TAN money bags and/or failed politicians to the likes of Aliko Dangote, Mike Adenuga, Femi Otedola who are hardly seen or heard playing partisan talk less of ethno-religious politics! Imagine Dangote gathering the leaders of Northerners in Lagos and imposing political party or candidate in Lagos State politics on them. Such is near impossible! Kyase: The paramount ruler and Obi of Onitsha in Anambra State, Igwe Alfred Achebe, has condemned the widespread protests by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), who are calling for the separation ofthe entire south-east regionfrom Nigeria. The condemnation came on the heels of agitations and protests for Biafra nation across parts of the country, especially as the protesters clamoured for the release of the Director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, who had been in detention since October.Speaking in an interview shortly after his inauguration as the Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, IgweAchebe told the protesters to shelve the idea of secession from the rest of Nigeria. He said that such agitation would only amount to violating the constitution ofthe country and the principles of democracy. The traditional ruler reminded the pro Biafra agitators of the inherent dangers involved in their action, emphasising that Nigeria remained a united and indivisible country irrespective of the numerous challenges. He urged them to channel all their grievances to their elected representatives in the National Assembly for consideration, rather than embarking on violent protests that could result into breakdown of law and order in the region.- TodayNG

boman2014: The Nigerian presidency has warned those agitating for a breakaway Biafra republic to have a rethink, saying the federal government would not fold its hands and allow anyone plunge the country into crisis.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who gave the warning on Saturday, in Jos, said government would not watch while some individuals and groups create unnecessary tension in the country in the guise of seeking to break away from Nigeria.
“We need to build the civic capacity to defeat the false and dangerous premises and assumption of violence extremism. Never again should we allow mindless violence inspired by false and evil precepts to threaten our national security,” Mr. Osinbajo said.
“Let me again call on persons or group in the country who have some grievance or disaffection to submit to peaceful and democratic means of expressing themselves.”
The vice president spoke at the graduation ceremony of the Executive Course 37 of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) Kuru, which graduated 63 participants Saturday. In his spech, Mr. Osinbajo reminded those embarking on mass protest for Biafra that their “right to protest is limited by the rights of others to safety and peaceful existence”.
“We can offer our country opinion without violating the law of the land or threatening law and order.” He urged the protesters to join hands with the Buhari-led administration to develop Nigeria, saying the administration would soon end the Boko Haram insurgency in the country.
“Let me reiterate that Boko Haram terrorism as well as their ideology will soon be defeated and consigned to history,” Mr. Osinbajo said. He admitted there were educational setbacks in the country, but said the APC-led administration would tackle the challenges in the sector as a means of ensuring better future for Nigeria’s younger generation.
“While accepting that our educational system is in a dangerously parlous state, the solutions are obvious even if not easy,” the Vice-President said.
“We have to focus on early child education, retrain teachers, ensure that our curricular will prepare our children for the 21st century.” He charged the NIPSS new graduates to use the experiences garnered during the 10-month course to develop Nigeria in their fields of endeavour.
Earlier in an address, the Director General of NIPSS, Ahmed Tijani, said the course’s 37 participants made valuable contributions for national development, particularly in the educational sector.
PREMIUM TIMES learnt that with Saturday’s graduation, NIPSS has since 1979, when it was established, graduated 1781 course participants.

ragiluhivo: By AbdulSalam Muhammad KANO – The march towards 2015 General Election took a dangerous dimension in Kano Wednesday following calls by youths under the auspices of Arewa Youth Development Foundation for the division of Nigeria as a political entity.
The protest that was held outside the palace of the Emir of Kano shortly after a courtesy call on the on the monarch, attracted hundreds of youths believed to be students drawn from tertiary institution in Kano.
Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, appealed for calm and enjoins the youth to imbibe the lesson of peace in their entire endeavour considering the critical role they play in nation building.
Sanusi II told the protesting youths during a courtesy call on him that “it is only natural that people of different and divergent culture to live in one entity as a nation, and I enjoin you people to imbibe the lesson of peace considering your role in nation development”.
The youth carrying placard with inscription that support the dissolution of the country hold a rally outside the palace and was addressed by the Secretary General of the Group, Comrade Alfred Solomon who decaalred that their stand was informed by what he called “continued intimidation of Northerners by the federal Government.”
Some of the placard bore the message “Hold your petro dollars, let everyone goes his direction”, Southerners are not welcome here in the north”, Southerners must Go, Shegu” Nigeria belong to all of us not militants” we say no to Northern identification in southern Nigeria”.
Other messages on the placards also reads “Southerners are militants, kidnappers/ rituals, armed robbers, drug pushers, terrorists, sons/daughters are products of baby factory”.
A prepared speech jointly signed by National President and Secretary General, Barrister Aliyu M Usman, and Alfred Solomon respectively but read by the Secretary General during the protest urged northerners to “rise and support agitation for peaceful dissolution of this union called Nigeria for every region to go its own way.”
Alfred directed that “we urged all artisans, students, public and private sector servants , traders business holders currently operating , residing or intending to do so in any part of Nigeria to relocate back home within the next two weeks” Alfred Solomon in the same vein further advised non Northerners residing in any part of the northern Nigeria to relocate to their various regins of origin within two weeks to make room for accommodating our northern brothers who would be returning home.
Solomon noted that the “measure would bring an end to the mutual suspicion that is presently causing some southern states to demand Northerners to obtain resident permits and perhaps any similar action that may arise from northern state Government as a consequence”.
The rally that was originally schedule to criss cross designated streets in Kano was cancelled while no reason was given also by the organizers for canceling of visit to the Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso at the Government House.
http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/07/2015-northern-youths-call-dissolution-nigeria/ One wonder why such agitation has fizzled out since the election of Daura Dumbass called Muhammadu Buhar, a northerner. Politics › Re: Ohaneze To Biafra Agitators: Stop This Madness - The Nation by Duru1(m): 11:27pm On Nov 20, 2015 |
Kyase: The apex lgbo socio- cultural organisation, Ohaneze Ndigbo, has warned the south East, south south youths to stop the secession agitation, saying that it will never work.
Rather, the body called on the youths to give support to the administration of President Mohammadu Buhari for him to have a look at the dilapidated roads in the zone.
Briefing reporters Friday in Awka, the chairman forum of state presidents of Ohaneze in the seven Igbo speaking states, Elder Chris Eluemunoh, said the group would never support agitation of Biafra as being demanded by the youth.
The seven states of Ohaneze included Anambra, Abia, Ebonyi, Enugu,Imo, Delta and Rivers.
Before now, the youths in the zone had held cities like Aba, Awka, Onitsha, Owerri, Enugu, Abakiliki, Asaba and Portharcourt hostage in the past weeks calling for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, Benjamin Onwuka and others by the federal government.
The youths were doing the demonstrations under the aegis of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) with few other members of the Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) involved.
However, the Ohaneze chairman Friday said that what the youths were doing could be described as pure madness, adding that it would have been a different ball game if they were protesting against the bad state of roads instead of agitation for Biafra.
According to Eluemunoh, “Ohaneze as Igbo cultural group cannot support insurgency, we are totally against it and we will never support it.
“Anybody that has any issue with the federal government should go for dialogue with the president and that is why we went for national conference, Nigeria is a one united country and we do not want any other
“I believe what the youths are doing is to call the attention of the president to see the infrastructural decay in the zone, this region has been abandoned and neglected and not by Buhari, but by previous administrations started by Olusegun Obasanjo which Goodluck Jonathan also tried to bring back.
“Ohaneze is calling on the federal government to declare state of emergency in the zone on roads for purposes of infrastructural development and that is what the youths are saying, we believe and not secession.
“Our president should forget what happened in the last election and Ohaneze is going to give him full support through prayers and other means and in making sure that Nigeria stays as one indivisible entity.
“Therefore, the youths should stop such agitations for Biafra because Biafra died in 1970 and we are saying it again that Ohaneze will never support it,” Eluemunoh warned.
However, the group said if Nnamdi Kanu and others who were spearheading such agitation had committed any offence, they should face the law, but if not, they should be freed.
Furthermore, he debunked the allegation that the youths were being supported by top Igbo politicians, adding that if indeed they were getting any support from anywhere, it should be from outside Nigeria.
He said they believed that such restiveness by the youths could stop if roads like Oba-Okigwe road, Owerri – Portharcourt road which Ohaneze described as the worst in Nigeria were fixed.
“What they call agitation for Biafra is not in the dictionary of Ohaneze Ndigbo and we will never give it a look in, what Ohaneze is saying is that president Buhari’s administration should be supported to move this country forward,” said Eluemunoh.
http://thenationonlineng.net/ohaneze-to-biafra-agitators-stop-this-madness/ When issues as self-determination and economic productivity make themselves available for debate, the statements that emanate from certain sections of Nigeria buttress the fact that most Nigerians are painfully idiotic. The agenda for self-determination are not limited to money, jobs and roads. If such is the case, the Scottish would not have dreamt of independent nation to be called Republic of Scotland. Nigeria is a natural dead end and all the people see is foolish growth without progress. In addition, most Nigerians seem to be experts on anything even things they absolutely know nothing about. It strikes my imagination how the few dumbass jackasses in Ohanaeze arrived at the conclusion that the call for independent Biafra or more preferable to me, Republic of Igbo land, is an untenable proposition. If most of these moronic goons where around in 1942, they would have said that agitation for independent Nigeria was a waste of time. It is even more plausible now than then to agitate for independent entity. Most of the campaigners for independent state of Nigeria were constantly in hiding. The right for self-determination is not and will never be given by moronic Ohanaeze. Such right is granted by God to people who wished to exercise it. When the chilled wind which conveys the mandate of the IPOB blows across the cesspit called Nigeria, most dumbass stiffs in Ohanaeze may not know what actually hit them. It is very good that people who could have sabotaged the will of IPOB if they had maintained silence are now making themselves known to the real agitators of the self-determination for reconstituted Biafra or Republic of Igbo land. The existence of Biafra or even Republic of Igbo land does not spell the end of Nigeria. Even if it does and so what? Those who want to remain in Nigeria are free to do so. Also those who want to belong to Oodua Republic or even Islamic Republic of Arewa can do so. Why must a Yari.ba or Fulani or Hausa or Kanuri or anybody for that matter be compatriots of Ndiigbo? |

The government said its attention has been drawn to planned protest march by some elements outside the state and urged the people of the state, especially the youths not to allow themselves to be used to achieve any self-serving interest.
The State Security Adviser, Mr Jude Ngaji, said in a statement in Calabar Tuesday said that security agencies are on red alert to ensure that no unauthorized march, procession or protest takes place in the state.
“The state government attaches great importance to the unity of the country and warned that any person or group of persons who embark on any protest without a written permission from the police shall be made to face the full force of the law,” the statement read.

The freedom of expression is the cardinal point of democracy. The Cross State is not country outside Nigeria therefore the IPOB group has every fundamental and constitutional right to have peaceful demonstration in Cross River State. Where was the idiotic government of Cross River State when Bakassi was ceded to Cameroon? |
