Stanley08: Yes. I was coming online to write this when i saw ur post. However, according to a manual i downloaded, Bs-508 only supports LTE FDD: B1/B2/B4/B5/B7/B28
See attachment below. This manual might be more genuine then. When i saw the 508 and 605 with the same bands support, i knew something was not right. |

saint2ace: Dustmalik I believe you've finally found the mifi with everything you want lol...
As for me I have the spectranet e5573s-606 maybe i'll just get the 320 from mtn, blow the 20gb and have a reserve mifi, both combined can do all the networks available I still haven't decided on whether to go for the Glo mifi. I would have preferred the 606 so that I may, from time to time, switch batteries with my MTN 320 once one is down. |

Stanley08: MTN uses band 7(2600) and 20 (800) Etisalat uses 3(1800) Ntel 8(900) and 3(1800) Spectranet and Swift 40(2300)
Please tell me if I'm wrong, it seems to be E5377Bs-605 because that's the one with Glo's 28(700) band.
I'm assuming from the photo below, and comparing the bands of the E5377 glo sells, it should work with all the above carriers. Please refer to the photo below. Thank you Glo's own is E5377bs-508. I saw it well written on it. According to this website, it supports the same bands as the E5377bs-605. See screenshot

TheRealGEJ: You're right, I just did an update to iOS 10 and got the 4G LTE signal on my Glo... thanks I'm thinking of getting the 4G LTE Mifi, but I'm still not sure if it's worth it, given that it costs 25k, and knowing how slow Glo is on 3G. What is your experience so far? Is it really fast on 4G? |

Seems to support all 4G networks. MTN, GLO, Ntel, Spectranet, Swift
it has bands 7(2600), 28(700), 3(1800) and 40 (2300).
Thank you. Yes, it is. I saw it at their head office in Abuja. it comes with 60gb at the cost of 25k. It uses v3 algo, so yes, it can be easily unlocked. |

johnolusetire97: Its quite sad considering the only reason I bought the mtn mifi was because of the 20gb. The same happened to me, why advertise something and not carry on with it. I thought getting 20gb for 5k would have been a pretty sweet deal, so I bought the mifi. I even confirmed the 20gb offer through email and at their office after purchasing the mmifi. Only to get home and see only 10gb. I contacted them but they just keep on stalling till you get tired. I will probably unlock it and sell it. akinsuraj: I have been battling with thesame issue since monday this week have sent several tweet to them all they will reply is that their working on it at a time I was ask to check my data balance just for me to find notting,my next option now is to send a tweet to NCC, because I will not let it go just like that I'm very disappointed at Nairaland mods as well, especially Seun and lalasticlala, because our grievance is genuine and we've a solid case here, yet they didn't deem it fit to push it to frontpage. 10gb is no small data. |
Phones › Re: How MTN Nigeria Defrauded Me Of 20gb Of Data by dustmalik(op): 10:24pm On Oct 27, 2016 |
Dam5reey: @dustmalik... I told you what happened...
When you buy a new MIFI you get it for 10k, 5k for the MIFI and 5k for 10GB plan.... If you gett the double bonus offer the that is 20GB.....
Your data was activated Data before the sim was inserted.... So no offer for double data on both sim...
That is why T and C always apply to any promo...
I work with a company that does promo as well you must read and accept the terms and condition first then make deposit to activate the promo it is automatic added...
However we do add manually in case something like this happened...
I did the same my Data was activated before the sim was activated...
So on my next data i will get the 100% surely...
A new user can learn from this activate everything in their Office Please, stop this already. Referring to the emboldened, Is it my fault that MTN, who is the company making the offer, doesn't know any better? If what you say is true, shouldn't they know better than to activate it at their office? Should I be the one to take responsibility for their stupidity? |
Phones › How MTN Nigeria Defrauded Me Of 20gb Of Data by dustmalik(op): 8:12pm On Oct 27, 2016 |
Over the weekend, I came across an MTN offer, offering to give its customers 20gb of data when a 4G LTE MiFi is purchased from one of its stores, at the cost of #10,000 naira.
So, on Monday 24th, October, i went to the MTN store at Lagos street, Garki 2, Abuja, to purchase two of the MiFis. The MiFi is bundled with a sim which the 20gb would be credited to. After purchasing two of the MiFis and, of course, registered the bundled sims, the MTN agent told me that the 20gb have been credited to those sims that are bundled with the MiFis, that I should insert the sims in their respective registered MiFis.
I didn't get to use the MiFis nor the sims on that day, but the next morning, on the 25th of October, I inserted the sims in their respective MiFis and checked how much data was included. I was disappointed to find only 10gb on each of the sims, instead of the advertised 20gb. Meaning, 10gb is missing from each of the sims.
So, I went on Twitter to complain to @MTN180, and they requested that i forward the IMEIs (International Mobile Equipment Identify) of the two MiFis and the numbers attached to them respectively, which I did. But they have refused to credit the remaining 10gb to each of my two sims. It's been more than 48hrs, and they haven't done anything about it. I have been complaining bitterly on Twitter, and threatened to bring the issue to Nairaland if they failed to credit what is due for me. Others too have complained of the same experience, yet MTN has refused to do anything about it. You can check my Tweets @dustmalik.
MTN is a fraudulent company, and they're out to defraud Nigerians. A company that can't keep to its word is fraudulent.
lalasticlala, Seun, honsule, I want this to make front page so that others don't fall for this scam. |
Phones › Re: Who Has Been Able To Unlock The MTN 4G Mifi by dustmalik(m): 1:36am On Oct 26, 2016 |
amnps: I tried doing this on my own by going through Google to see if I could get any help, but every guide I got was hazy and all confusing. So, I had to give a friend in Computer village to get mine cracked and voila, I have other network sims like Etisalat, Ntel, Glo (except Spectranet and yet to try out Swift and Smile) working on it. The only problem is that I'm limited to 3G from Glo and Etisalat. Well, I guess it has to do with the 4G "band" wahala. Spectranet and Swift can't work on it since it doesn't support band 40. But Smile should work fine. By the way, I bought two on Monday, and they were both bundled with 10gb each instead of the advertised 20gb. Did you guys experience this? |

honsule: LOL SO 10GB disappeared on it own. did u check it in their office before leaving? No, I didn't. I went back to complain though. They said they would resolve it within 24hrs. I'm not going to let it slide. They must give me my 20gb. |
Phones › Re: Glo 4G LTE - First Speedtest & Review by dustmalik(m): 2:30pm On Oct 25, 2016 |
duwdu: Hmm... This doesn't add up, in my view. The double data offer is for new (or older but tweaked - *wink* ) devices only, and for six months max. MTN advertises the MiFi + 20 GB data for a total of N10k, and no mention of some double data activation ish whatsoever. [I got the invite text from MTN for the MiFi bundle offer myself.]
Bottom line: dustmalik has a solid, direct case, and will probably succeed getting MTN to keep their word. MTN's known to mix up issues when it comes to offers, anyways, and have had to be pushed to fully redeem some of their offers, especially of recent. Good luck redeeming the rest of the data, dustmalik - for the sake of the rest of us.
P34c3 ........ ..... ... You are very correct. I made a complaint at the office where I bought it, and they said they would resolve it within 24hrs. |

Seem your data was activated before you insert and put on the sim... In this case you get 10GB
You must activate the line then you get the double data offer.. then activate the 10GB double offer I went back to their office to make a complaint. They said that they would escalate the issue and that it would be resolved within 24hrs. |

ColeworldMD: but MTN supports 2 bands so I guess that's why. Plus someone here said the second band is currently not deployed Yes. Right now, the band being officially used by MTN is band 7, and your device doesn't support that, hence why MTN 4G isn't working on your device. Maybe when they resolve their litigation issue, NCC might give them the go ahead to deploy band 20. One of the reasons MTN acquired Visafone was because of the 800mhz spectrum. |

Here are the bands it supports LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 8(900), 13(700), 17(700), 19(800), 20(800), 25(1900) - A1533 GSM, A1533 CDMA MTN system got that one wrong. Maybe it assumed, since it's an iPhone 5s, it should work, without considering the various variants of it. |
