is MTN 4g into those places covered by glo?
MTN covered by 80% of Lagos, Abuja and PH right, why haven't they spread to all other States ?
Look, Glo 4G coverage is largely on paper, not in reality. Those cities where they claim to have coverage, are just where they plan to cover in the nearest future. As an indigenous telco, we all want them to succeed. But what i dislike is deception on their part.

By the way, i like the fact that Glo is deploying its LTE using fiber-optic, at least here in Abuja, which will ensure better service delivery. As you know, it's far more expensive and way better to deploy LTE via fiber-optic than cell tower or cell site. So, I'm particular happy about that.

Thanks for this. I have searched for glo 4G in Wuse, Maitama, Garki and Durumi but not available. I doubt if glo 4G is available in Abuja.
Contrary to what Glo agents have been bandying about on this forum, i can assure you that Glo 4G LTE is currently not operational in Abuja. If anything, it's only being deployed at the moment.

mtn has covered 80℅ of Lagos and abuja.. Don't know about pH though..

Glo is yet to cover 40% those states.. Jumping around covering small universities is not coverage..

Glo should go and siddon.

As much as I really want to make use of glo, being made In Nigeria and all.. That network just sucks at coverage. Even there 3g is terrible. I'm not optimistic about this 4g.
I live in Abuja, and me and my friends have been searching for Glo 4G at all the locations they claimed to have coverage, but nowhere to be found. MTN, on the other hand, has coverage all over Abuja, albeit low signal strength due to the band they chose to go with. But at least it's there to be seen.

Glo, on the other hand, has no 4G coverage in Abuja. Trust me, i know all about bands and frequencies, so device compatibility isn't the problem.

Though there seems to be rapid deployment of green fiber-optic cables around Abuja metropolitan, so i suspect Glo is just deploying its LTE now, not that it's operational already.

My anger is that, Glo were in a haste to announce its nonexistent LTE simply because MTN beat them to it, and Glo didn't want to be left behind, which is deceptive, in my opinion. So i also suspect that Glo doesn't have LTE coverage in all those other locations it claims it does.

This Glo 4G is something else... I got their sim today, later sent a text to 4G to 400 to confirm. I was told my sim is 4G ready but need to change my phone... I'm using IPhone 6... I guess I'll have to stick with MTN
Only the 6s and 6s plus that support band 28. 6 and 6 plus don't have band 28 support.

Your phone is an at&t variant, hence why it's displaying 4G instead of H or H+. At&t coin its 3.75 as 4G, for marketing purpose.

Your device doesn't support any of our network LTE bands. Here is your device bands - LTE band 2(1900), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 17(700)

Don't be deceived. The OP and the third poster are the same person. He has been creating multiple monikers just to promote Glo's nonexistent 4G LTE. I've been going round Abuja metropolitan in search of Glo's LTE coverage, but found nothing.

BabaB2:
Hello Guys,

I make bold to say Glo is just trying fooling us all.

I purchased a 4G sim because on their coverage map, their mast on my street has 4G coverage. I have tested their sim on 3 devices verified to be compatible with band 28, but neither 4G nor LTE comes up on these devices, even when locked to 4G or LTE only.

I went back to their head office on Adeola Odeku, where it's sure that they have 4G LTE coverage, I went with my 3 compatible devices, they did everythig, I spent 2 hrs there, no 4G or LTE came up. I asked them to show me one of their devices showing or running their 4G LTE, they said they don't have any yet.

They asked me to go that they would get back to me, it's about a week now, nothing!

I'm aware that MTN had been testing their 4G LTE for months before launchiong last week. A reliable source told me Glo was aware MTN was going to launch last week, so they decided to "launch" and announce theirs before MTN, just so they can have the bragging rights to say they were the first to launch a 4G LTE service with a nation wide coverage.

They are actually not ready with a working 4G LTE network, they just rushed out with a product that's not working just because of MTN, in my opinion, that's a SCAM!
I have same opinion as well. I've been going round places in Abuja where they claim to have LTE coverage, but i haven't found a single one. I can authoritatively say that Glo 4G is all lies. They simply announced the launch of the nonexistent 4G because MTN Launched its own, and Glo were afraid of being left behind.

Though i noticed an intense deployment of green fiber optic cables around Abuja metropolitan since weekend. Maybe it's just being deployed. But this is simply scam on Glo's part. I'm very disappointed in Glo.
