abdulkayus: Subhanallah. To the Chinese Muslims, be steadfast Allah is with you. The chinese need to rescind this discriminatory rule and allow ppl to practise their religion. And who told them that fasting is risky to someone's health. This is balderdash
Please also advise Saudi Arabia and some other Middle Eastern countries to stop religious discrimination.

@OP,
If you have no problem buying a gold or diamond ring why should you have a problem paying bride price? What you should be against is not the practice but those greedy people who demand excessive bride price. For me after traditional wedding, every other thing na giara .

Beazy: Me I know say I will never release from here, but I never mind.

I am here because of Allah Subana Wata Allah and I am even prepared to die to make the world Muslim, everybody.

I don’t know anything I can tell you more because if I talk more they can kill me because it is offence to tell secret things about our people, that is why since I come here many days now I have refused to talk. Do you want them to kill me? As you people want to kill me, if I talk and I go out they will follow me to kill me is it what you want? So I have no matter with you please.
First, he knows he will never be released, then he is ready to die and then he is afraid for his life when he is released (knowing that he will never be released and he is ready to die anyway). I think this hope for nigeria group should be proscribed.

jasmine01s: But Doyin Alegbe, a Personal Assistant to Caverton Managing Director, Mr. Shola Falola, dismissed the letter saying that it was “a gross case of insubordination”

She said because expatriate workers are paid in dollars and Nigerian staff are paid in Naira, the company had challenges selling the dollars and this caused some delay in December.

She said everyone has now been paid.
Can she be this dumb to suggest this as a reason? undecided

These guys were not found guilty so The place had to be reopened. Sadly in Nigeria one is considered guilty even after being declared innocent. Nothing evidence was found linking the owners to terrorism.

emmysam2: @ Ceejay4real or whatever you call yourself, given your comment above, i was prompted to take a cursory look at your profile. I noticed you joined Nairaland sometime in January this year. But am appalled that more than 75 percent of your posts on Nairaland has been abusive and altercative. And to think that this is just what you post, Only God knows what you do or say.
In what way are you adding value to Nairaland? People like you shouldnt be on Nairaland. Have you ever taken time to ponder at your useless life? Its either you are a psychic case or you are possessed. Which ever case, you are a no good to the society.
With due respect sir, no one will ask you for a bribe to give you a job with NNPC. If the person is in a position to help you get a job then that person will gladly help you. And chances are that rather "sell" the position, the person will give it to a relative or friend. And by the way the ultimate "influencer" will not be below the rank of a manager. What I have seen in the past is that some youth corps members especially those serving with HR organise some of these scams. The impression a lotof people outside have of NNPC is erroneous.
Politics › Re: A Thread For Christian Northerners For GEJ 2015 by dustydee: 2:43pm On Dec 26, 2013
That some Nigerians vote along religious and ethnic line shows that they are happy with the status quo and are not ready for a change. I will not vote for GEJ in 2015 because he does not have the leadership qualities to lead a diverse nation like Nigeria. Some of my friends were angry with me in 2011 when they found out I wasn't going to vote for him but since then they are the ones that cry the loudest about how bad things are, I have managed to maintain my cool. I hope they are wiser.

Edeze: .... guy it's like u re not from dx part of d world(naija)....U BE LEBANESE MANhuh huh
Why? The problem is that we limit ourselves too much. If you pay for a job then you have no moral right to complain against corruption in Nigeria. There are bribe takers simply because there are bribe givers. By the way I got a job with them (which I reluctantly took) without "knowing" anyone. Same with most of my colleagues.

There was this rumour (baseless in my opinion) on facebook about people (Alleged to be Boko Haram members) being imported into benue state from Niger republic. This may not be unconnected with the rumour which urged people to take care and also mentioned that some of them were being accommodated in the mosque. I think people that spread hate need to be dealt with. When will we Africans grow up?

Nairaland General › NASA Images Find 1.7 Million Year Old Man-made Bridge by dustydee(op): 5:59pm On Dec 17, 2013
The NASA Shuttle has imaged a mysterious ancient bridge between India and Sri Lanka. The bridge was purportedly passable on foot until 1480 AD when a cyclone moved the sand around.

This recently-discovered bridge has been found to be made of a chain of limestone shoals. Its unique curvature and composition by age reveals that it is man made. The bridge currently named as Adam’s Bridge (most popularly known as Ram Setu) is about 18 miles (30 km) long.

This information is a crucial aspect for an insight into the mysterious legend called Ramayana, according to which the bridge was built under the supervision of Lord Rama who is supposed to be the incarnation of the supreme.

This bridge starts as chain of shoals from the Dhanushkodi tip of India’s Pamban Island and ends at Sri Lanka’s Mannar Island. Water between India and Sri Lanka is only 3 to 30 feet (1 to 10 meter) deep. Owing to shallow waters, this bridge presents a problem in navigation as big ships cannot travel in the shallow waters of the Pamban channel.

The discovery of this bridge is not only important for archaeologists, but it also gives an opportunity to the world to know an ancient history linked to the Indian mythology.

Politics › Re: The letter :Obasanjo Accuse Jonathan And Tinubu Of Foul Play. by dustydee: 10:00am On Dec 12, 2013
I read through the letter last night and the contents call for deep reflection by the politicians and the Nigerian people. If we must move ahead, we need to eschew every form of tribalism and sectinalism. Nigeria is bigger than any individual or group of people. Mr president may want to re assess his relationship with some of his advisers. It is obvious to me that these guys do what they do just to be seen to be loyal to the president and by so doing they withold the truth from him. The ADB/Rivers issue needs to be addressed by the president. I do not want to believe that the president is aware of this unfortunate situation, but if he is, then the saying "that power corrupts absolutely" may well be true. You cannot punish the Nigerian people because of your disagreement with an individual. To put it mildly, that is wickedness of the highest order.
