What Jesus Christ instead told you of those two commandments found in Deuteronomy 9 vs 6 and Leviticus 19 vs 18 is that they are a culmination of all the Law of Moses and the Prophets that came before Jesus Christ, in verse 40 Not once did Jesus Christ say those laws apply as far as the Kingdom of God which He instead came to establish.

The greatest commandment is found in John 8 vs 31 - 36 & John 14 vs 15 - 23 & John 15 vs 7 - 14 - Live your life in continuous submission and obedience to the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ, God's Truth, and Law in the Kingdom of God. All other commandments which He gave His followers are subsumed in this one commandment/ mandate.

As a young man who was terrified of any sort of commitment, I found that I could only allow myself to fall for a girl if she was at least 500 miles away. The first time, we both genuinely tried to make it work, but things fell apart spectacularly, mostly because we were both too young and immature to handle the distance.

It is not clear what the new policy will bring in, but ending the subsidy has led to a rise in the price of petrol and could have a knock-on effect on other prices.

Despite its oil wealth, Nigeria is unable to refine enough crude to meet local demands, so it imports petroleum products, which are then sold at a government-set price.

However, the subsidy is a huge drain on public finances. Last year it gulped 4.3trn naira ($9.3bn; £7.5bn), and for the first half of this year, 3.36trn naira was budgeted for it.

The new president announced that the subsidy could no longer be justified and that the funds would instead be spent on public infrastructure and to improve the lives of people.

I would like to share how having faith in God can shield us better from financial worries. This is a six weeks series that explores bible characters and how they were able to draw on this faith when they had very little. Hebrews 11 credits them for their faith.

I'd be focusing on Jesus. He taught us in Matthew 6:25-33 how not to worry: instead, he encourages us to "seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well". It's a verse I have often heard on numerous occasions, and you might be asking how that applies now when we seem to be time-poor and have less to give

Jesus points us to the greatest commandments in Matthew 22 37- 40. where all the Law and Prophets hang on these two:

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.

It is important to feel assured that God is interested in you, and he is also fondly interested in your neighbor, those he has placed around you.

For example, at the end of the week, when I often get rid of stale meals. I am reminded of how food waste in a recession isn't good financial stewardship. Now, I try to buy just enough, which means I can save just a bit more and give to others.

There are other times, however, that you may be expected to sacrifice first in obedience and reap the rewards later.

Proverbs 17:22 says, "A joyful heart is a good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones." I have been healthy throughout the pandemic and have not had to use my funds to pay for medical bills, saving my cash for my vitality. Blessings don't always show up financially; they can come in a need that is being met.

Diesel cost should be a good indicator.

Deregulated AGO(Diesel) current costs ₦650 per litre so PMS(Petrol) should be somewhere in that range.

Some have estimate that it will be N700 or more, people might have to switch to a different power source

Marketers estimate it to be around N500/liter, but that's a worst case scenario. With subsidy out of the way, government pressure on NNPC for revenue would ease a bit, and this would positively affect the price of the product. This is entirely my opinion though.

President Bola Tinubu said yesterday said that the era of petrol subsidy was gone, noting it was not sustainable.

In a knee-jerk reaction to the confirmation of fuel subsidies removal by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, marketers and operators have increased petrol pump prices to N210-N500 per liter.

These price changes happened less than six hours after Tinubu’s announcement during his inaugural speech at Eagle Square, Abuja.

In his inaugural speech, the President said since the immediate past President, Muhammadu Buhari, did not budget for fuel subsidies in the second half of the year, the payment is gone for good.

Buhari had budgeted for fuel subsidies till the end of June, which implies that most fuel products available are still enjoying the subsidies regime.

Mr. Mike Osatuyi, the National Operations Controller, of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, said that the pronouncement being part of his campaign promises is the first step towards Tinubu’s fulfillment of his campaign promises.

According to the IPMAN boss, “The money used on subsidy will be diverted to develop other sectors.

“That means Tinubu has begun to fulfill his campaign promises,” he said.

First, contrary to what many may like to believe, Hebrews 11 vs 1 does not contain a definition of the word faith . Rather what the writer does in the context is attempts a figurative comparison of faith with the evidence/substance, the promises of God, that come as a result of ir. Faith itself is not defined in the context of that passage. For this reason, the word faith, in the context, is used in reference to efforts made by such a person as Abraham while pointing out the evidence/benefits that resulted from such effort.

God Himself explained what the word faith means in Genesis 26 vs 5 when He pointed out that the reason why He made a promise to Abraham had to do with the fact that Abraham lived his life in submission and obedience of His, God's, teachings and commandments - Faith. God gave that as the one and the only reason why He made Abraham His friend. This offer we observe Jesus Christ makes with all those of His followers who will do as He says - John 15 vs 9 -14 — those who will submit to and obey His teachings and commandments in the Kingdom of God. So, there you have it. Faith refers to living one's life in continuous submission and obedience to God's commandments and teachings, and in our case, in Jesus Christ. This definition is observed as being used in the Old Testament as well as in the New Covenant by Jesus Christ Himself.
