We are continuing this 6-part series, Faith, a dominant currency. In the second of the series, we are encouraged that there are seasons where having enough by God's measure is God's own currency and a way to demonstrate our love for Him https://youtube.com/watch?v=Hp5gdi9o0ns&feature=share9 The parable of the Rich Fool depicts the futility of believing that wealth can secure prosperity of a good life. How grateful are we to God for our health, and how often do we appreciate and see each day as a gift? By choosing to live a life of contentment (in little or plenty), our faith encourages us to have a heart of gratitude and allows our praise be rich towards God. "For even a live dog is better than a dead lion (Ecclesiastes 9:4-61" Live a day at a time. Sometimes not having enough is a way of God testing our dependency on Him. Are we content with our daily bread, or are we storing up riches for tomorrow? Gather what you need and rest in God's peace, and do not worry. Miracles happen when we look up to God. If you found this helpful and would like to engage over the six weeks series with others, we'd love to hear from you, join the Faith in a recession community |
But don't you guys think that the Dangote refinery might help stabilize the fuel price? |
Kobojunkie:well you make a fair point ,would love to hear more from your point of view, you're invited to join us on our Thursday sessions on faith by 8pm |
MrBrownJay1:So true, the revelation was quite shocking though I never imagined that she dated Drake |
Kobojunkie:Check out Matthew 22:36-40 and you'll see what Jesus had to say of the greatest commandment |
Passpands:Jesus greatest commandment was in fact "thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might, and with all thy strength" you can find this in Matthew 22:36-40. what this teaching is trying to explain is how we exercise faith through his teaching you can check out the video for a brief explanation |
tensazangetsu20:No wonder, that would mean that fuel price only affects their transportation? |
•Is he/she worth waiting for? •Are they feeling the same way I do? •Am I kidding myself thinking this can work? •Would I be better off dating the mailman instead? At least he comes to my house every day. •Does my boyfriend even exist or is this just an elaborate Nigerian credit card scam? As a young man who was terrified of any sort of commitment, I found that I could only allow myself to fall for a girl if she was at least 500 miles away. The first time, we both genuinely tried to make it work, but things fell apart spectacularly, mostly because we were both too young and immature to handle the distance. The second time, we both agreed that our lives were taking us to different parts of the world, and we were probably better off letting it go- we then struggled to, you know, actually, let go for another year, and it sucked. The third time, and perhaps because we had both done this before, we immediately made plans to end the distance as soon as possible (six months) and then made the appropriate sacrifices to do so. And now we're married. When it comes to surviving the distance, here's what I've learned: Be a part of our Relationship Lounge where you can unravel inspiring stories, connect with singles, and indulge in thrilling games! |
"Whatever this is, we pray it brings favor and greatness to us" These have been the words of every regular Nigerian since the swearing-in ceremony of the new president of Nigeria, H.E. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. While the new president and vice president were happy about this new phase, the president used his inaugural address to make a major policy announcement to ease pressure on government finances. Bola Tinubu declared that the decades-long subsidy on petroleum products was being scrapped. He said, "Fuel subsidy is gone." It is not clear what the new policy will bring in, but ending the subsidy has led to a rise in the price of petrol and could have a knock-on effect on other prices. Despite its oil wealth, Nigeria is unable to refine enough crude to meet local demands, so it imports petroleum products, which are then sold at a government-set price. However, the subsidy is a huge drain on public finances. Last year it gulped 4.3trn naira ($9.3bn; £7.5bn), and for the first half of this year, 3.36trn naira was budgeted for it. The new president announced that the subsidy could no longer be justified and that the funds would instead be spent on public infrastructure and to improve the lives of people. While this sounds like a good idea for Nigeria's economy, Following the president's announcement, some filling stations have hiked the pump price of their petroleum products. Read The Full Story With this new development, will the removal of the Fuel Subsidy remove the monopoly by Dangote?

I would like to share how having faith in God can shield us better from financial worries. This is a six weeks series that explores bible characters and how they were able to draw on this faith when they had very little. Hebrews 11 credits them for their faith. I'd be focusing on Jesus. He taught us in Matthew 6:25-33 how not to worry: instead, he encourages us to "seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well". It's a verse I have often heard on numerous occasions, and you might be asking how that applies now when we seem to be time-poor and have less to give Jesus points us to the greatest commandments in Matthew 22 37- 40. where all the Law and Prophets hang on these two: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself. It is important to feel assured that God is interested in you, and he is also fondly interested in your neighbor, those he has placed around you. For example, at the end of the week, when I often get rid of stale meals. I am reminded of how food waste in a recession isn't good financial stewardship. Now, I try to buy just enough, which means I can save just a bit more and give to others. There are other times, however, that you may be expected to sacrifice first in obedience and reap the rewards later. Proverbs 17:22 says, "A joyful heart is a good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones." I have been healthy throughout the pandemic and have not had to use my funds to pay for medical bills, saving my cash for my vitality. Blessings don't always show up financially; they can come in a need that is being met. President Bola Tinubu said yesterday said that the era of petrol subsidy was gone, noting it was not sustainable. In a knee-jerk reaction to the confirmation of fuel subsidies removal by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, marketers and operators have increased petrol pump prices to N210-N500 per liter. These price changes happened less than six hours after Tinubu’s announcement during his inaugural speech at Eagle Square, Abuja. In his inaugural speech, the President said since the immediate past President, Muhammadu Buhari, did not budget for fuel subsidies in the second half of the year, the payment is gone for good. Buhari had budgeted for fuel subsidies till the end of June, which implies that most fuel products available are still enjoying the subsidies regime. Mr. Mike Osatuyi, the National Operations Controller, of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, said that the pronouncement being part of his campaign promises is the first step towards Tinubu’s fulfillment of his campaign promises. According to the IPMAN boss, “The money used on subsidy will be diverted to develop other sectors. “That means Tinubu has begun to fulfill his campaign promises,” he said. Ever tried roasting Suya with Peanut Butter? Originally created as a complement to Jollof rice, this West African-style skewer, known as suya, has become a beloved marinade for beef. Surprisingly, the secret ingredient in this recipe is peanut butter, which adds a unique and delightful flavor to the dish. here are some key insights from the chef: The Power of Peanut Butter: Peanut butter plays a crucial role in this recipe, despite not being a typical ingredient in meat marinades. However, it works wonders and brings out the best flavors in suya. Achieving Perfect Caramelization: Initially skeptical about the peanut butter burning on the grill, I was pleasantly surprised by how it instead caramelizes and browns beautifully. This not only enhances the visual appeal but also adds an exceptional taste and texture to the dish. A Flavor That Delights Everyone: The flavor of suya is both unconventional and comforting, reminiscent of beloved dishes from cherished places. It's a crowd-pleaser that will leave you wanting to grill it again and again. While the authentic method of using ground nuts instead of peanut butter is worth exploring, this version using peanut butter has won the chef's heart. So what do you think, if they tell you to make Suya with peanut butter will you give it a try? You can check out the recipe on Dyshus webpage(link in bio)

I once gave a seminar to Singles on the differences between Men and Women and the best analogy I could use to describe our differences was crockery. Men and Women are different in function and once we can embrace these differences we can actually exploit its significance. Women are just like forks. Shapely by design, for the function of bearing great loads with a flare of sophistication and grace. A true example of our ability to carry great loads is the journey to Motherhood. We are able to carry and deliver children, not once, but often multiple times in quick succession. It is said that if a man were ever to go through labour for just an hour, they would die. Women are able to carry multiple problems and foster effective solutions with great empathy. In addition to this, women are able convert things from one form to another. For example, give her a house and she'll give you a home, give her a seed and she'll give you are garden, give her criticism and she'll give you......I think you get my drift. A Fork is very useful but its ultimate function is enhanced when used in collaboration with a knife. When deciding on a future partner one should think: Is this the knife for my fork? You don't want a fork to align with a chopstick or a knife to align with a tweezer. This is the recipe for frustration! Hunger is your body's natural cue that it needs more food. Most people can go several hours between meals before feeling hungry again, though this isn't the case for everyone. There are several possible explanations for this,This article discusses 14 reasons for excessive hunger. 1. YOU EAT WHILE YOU'RE DISTRACTED If you live a busy lifestyle, you may often eat while you are distracted. Although it may save you time, distracted eating can be detrimental to your health. It's associated with greater appetite, increased calorie intake, and weight gain. 2. YOU DRINK YOUR CALORIES Liquid and solid foods affect your appetite in different ways. If you consume many liquid foods, such as smoothies, meal replacement shakes, and soups, you may be hungrier more often than you would be if you ate more solid foods. 3. YOU'RE EATING TOO MANY REFINED CARBS Refined carbs have been highly processed and stripped of their fibre, vitamins, and minerals. One of the most popular sources of refined carbs is white flour, found in many grain- based foods like bread and pasta. Foods like soda, candy, and baked goods, made with processed sugars are also considered refined carbs. 4. YOU'RE NOT EATING ENOUGH PROTEIN Consuming enough protein is important for appetite control. Protein has hunger-reducing properties that may help you automatically consume fewer calories during the day. It works by increasing the production of hormones that signal fullness and reducing hormones that stimulate hunger. Due to these effects, you may feel hungry frequently if you're not eating enough protein. 5. YOU'RE OVERLY STRESSED Excess stress is known to increase appetite. This is mostly due to its effects on increasing cortisol levels, a hormone that has been shown to promote hunger and food cravings. For this reason, you might find that you are always hungry if you experience frequent stress. Read all the reasons why you're always hungry on Dyshus webpage(link in bio) Become a member of our Food Stars Community now and delve into a variety of recipes🧑🍳.
