Jumbojnr:
The simple answer is "NO" . Dangote is all about monopoly in the first few years of manufacturing or production, combined with an upward review of price. Get ready to buy the different distilled crude products at double the current price.
But don't you think that it might affect removal of subsidy?

Has any Dangote product crashed the price of any commodity in this country? Get ready to buy fuel at twice of what you're currently paying
That means that Dangote would only get richer at the expense of Nigeria, then do you think that is there is any good part to this news?

CelebritiesWhich celebrity is an "Idan"? by DyshApp(op):
The slang Idan has continued to enjoy massive social media attention. Since its inclusion in the vocabulary of numerous netizens, curious minds have begun to seek more information about the street slang that has become a favourite amongst many.

Idan began garnering massive traction a few days ago after a Twitter user published a thread recounting how president-elect Tinubu offered to help African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore through an intermediary, an offer that he reportedly declined.

Sowore's choice to shun Tinubu's offer of help and then proceed to run for the same office as Tinubu, even though he lost, earned him some degree of reverence by this author, who also referred to him as 'Idan' in his thread signifying a person who achieves a difficult feat.

It should also be noted that this term is pregnant with meaning that largely depends on the context in which it's used. For this piece, we will be looking into the contextual meaning of this word as street slang.

Without further ado, here are things you didn't know about the street slang "Idan'.

1. The word Idan is a dialectal word that originated from the Yoruba-speaking people of Nigeria.

PoliticsWill Dangote Refinery Reduce The Cost Of Petrol? by DyshApp(op): 1:19pm On May 22, 2023
The Dangote Refinery begins operations on Monday (today) and is located at Dangote Industries Free Zone, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos. it is set up to process crude oil grades from the continent of Africa, Asia, and America, with a delivery of a surplus of close to 38 million liters of petrol, diesel, kerosene, and aviation fuel for Nigeria daily.

Data in a document obtained from the company, on Sunday, showed that the Dangote Refinery could support the establishment of 26,716 fillings stations, create 100,000 direct and indirect jobs, and provide a $21bn market for Nigerian crude oil annually.

The National President, of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, Chinedu Okonkwo, said, “That refinery is going to create further hope for this nation.

The time spent in importing petroleum products will be eliminated and Nigeria will gain a lot from it, moving forward,” he stated.

He said operators were hopeful that the facility would eradicate cases of poor petroleum product supply, which often led to an incessant scarcity of Premium Motor Spirit, popularly called petrol, across the country.

With the coming onboard of the Dangote Refinery, we believe that Nigeria will say goodbye to PMS scarcity, as well as the poor supply of other petroleum products,” Ukadike stated.

There certainly are a lot of weird things going on in Hollywood these days, and we don't know whether to laugh or gasp as more interesting news makes its way into international headlines about some of our favourite celebrities.

But even in the madness, the news about Jamie Foxx's collapse on a tv set after being allegedly almost scammed by a staff member and escaping a real- life bomb threat during filming is one of the strangest stories yet. If you're shocked by all of this, just know that the story gets even weirder.

Christianity EtcFaith As Currency In Our Finances by DyshApp(op):
A faith currency is a supernatural belief, an exchange with God that expects Him to meet our needs, especially during difficult times. It is a currency used by Christians around the world, often activated in prayer in expectation for God to deliver on his word and provide for us.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hp5gdi9o0ns

Currently, in the downturn economy that we are experiencing, coupled with high inflation, these events can negatively affect us, and it is in these moments that we ought to learn how to use our faith currency more effectively.

In the first of the six series. I'd be focusing on Jesus. He taught us in Matthew 6:25-33 how not to worry:

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.

we are required to follow his command to pay attention to the needs around us and give sacrificially to support those that are in lack. It is often difficult to be perceptive about others if you are also in need.

I know some may be reading and saying, "But I have no money and no peace". If you are feeling this way. I'd like you to pause and reflect I'd like to encourage you to rest in his peace by enjoying the simple pleasures. In this season, join a fellowship, give to others, and receive from others. Share your prayer requests and ask your group to pray with you and do the same for your neighbor.

Her mum began with "Hilly baby, mummy is here..." Omg! I couldn't. 🥺

Thank God they won together. It ended in praise.
Another favourite moment was when Hilda's mum knelt down to glorify God for everything, after Hilda broke the record.
So touching.

CareerIs It Right To Confront Bosses On Social Media about Career Issues? by DyshApp(op):
Notice: Generation Z, colloquially known as Zoomers from the mid-to-late 1990s as starting birth years and the early 2010s as the ending birth years.

Frustrated Gen Z employees are quitting and exposing their toxic jobs live on TikTok, hinting at a generational disconnect between companies and their young workforce.

Whilst some workers still opt for the traditional method of sending a nicely worded notice email, Gen Zers are opting for sitting in front of a camera and airing their work grievances.

These live quitting videos often gather thousands, if not millions, of views, suggesting lots of other young workers relate to feeling trapped in toxic workplaces.

Rethinkly's research reveals that 28% of Gen Z employees lack a voice at work. Additionally, 23% endure unmanageable stress, and 98% face burnout symptoms. With Gen Z projected to comprise 27% of the workforce by 2025, addressing these issues becomes imperative.

PoliticsWill Tinubu's Swearing In Ceremony On May 29th Still Hold? by DyshApp(op): 8:30pm On May 16, 2023
It is only a few days away before Asiwaju Bola Tinubu's scheduled inauguration, and five citizens of the Federal Capital Territory, or FCT, Abuja, have petitioned the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court to stop the ceremony.

In the lawsuit with the file number FHC/ABJ/CS/578/2023, the plaintiffs requested a court order barring Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, the Chief Justice of Nigeria, from swearing in any candidates for the February 25 presidential election as President or Vice-President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria until the matter has been resolved in court with certainty or by the Constitution.

They further want a declaration that "the plaintiffs and other FCT residents have a legal interest and constitutional rights to be heard on the question of whether a President-elect must secure at least 25% of votes cast, on the first ballot, in the FCT, Abuja.

CareerThink and Grow Rich Hacks for a successful career by DyshApp(op):
"Think and Grow Rich" is your go-to guide.
first published in 1937, and the principles are for anyone looking to improve their life. While the text is specific to financial success, the principles outlined in the book can be used to achieve success in all aspects of life.

PRINCIPLE 1: THINK SUCCESS BY DEFAULT.
Whatever you believe, you experience!
The power of thought is very important to succeed. Although many people don't exercise their ability to manage their thoughts🤔, you can achieve your goals or become wealthy if you learn to control this strength💪.

PRINCIPLE 2: SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
Schools offer general education, but frequently this education lacks applications in the real world. The type of information you require to become wealthy is specialized and unique to the business or venture you have decided to pursue as your career.

This is why earning a college degree isn't a guarantee that you'll succeed in your profession; formal education should only be seen as the start of learning.

PRINCIPLE 3: ORGANIZED PLANNING
A man without a plan is like a ship without a compass. To transform your desires into success, you must have practical plans through which the transformation can be made.

If your first plan doesn't work, switch to another one. Replace it in turns with another one until you find a plan that aligns with your dream.

PRINCIPLE 4: SEX ENERGY TRANSMUTATION
The book suggests that sex is the most potent human desire, and some people take risks to satisfy it. Nevertheless, this powerful energy can be utilized to propel you toward your objectives.

Hill believes that sex is both an emotion and an energy and has three advantages: ensuring the continuation of the human race, promoting good health, and transforming average talent into brilliance. By shifting your attention from the physical aspect of sex to creative endeavors, you can utilize its energy to attain wealth and success.

Music/RadioRe: Does Tiwa Savage Deserves All The criticism? by DyshApp(op): 3:30pm On May 15, 2023
NonBinary:
Unfortunately the average African does not read and therefore is ignorant of his own history. How can we understand issues when we don't even really know ourselves. We keep raising the issues of slave trade and colonialism, but what we fail to understand is that everything that has ever happened to us and is currently happing to us (the contraption called Nigeria) took place because the so called oppressors succeeded in enticing those in power (who could've stood up to them) with riches and promises of power/dominance over their fellow African brothers and sisters.
That's what both slavery and colonial conquests in Africa boiled down to at the end of the day, getting powerful people who could otherwise have opposed the "oppressors" to see personal gain in cooperating with them.
This is where we still get it wrong till date, rather than analyze issues logically, we use emotional, religious and ethnic sentiments. Before the Portuguese ever charted a course to Africa, we had been engaging in bloody wars for centuries and keeping slaves who were dehumanized and tortured, perhaps even worse than the white men who came along later ever did. To the point where the descendants of slaves in some parts of Nigeria were categorized into their own caste and considered inferior, a custom that was only recently abolished and which still lives on in the minds of some. Yet we make a hue and cry whenever we hear cases of racism in the West, as if such descendants of slaves would be treated better in their own fatherland. Are you people even aware that after the abolition of slave trade, African chiefs/kings protested and insisted that they had already established an economy driven by slave labour and trade and it took the British to coerce our own chiefs/kings to diversify. Are you aware that the so called colonial masters only succeeded in Nigeria because they set the North against the South and kept the South in check by threatening to back the North in it's drive to "conquer" the South. There was no time in history where Europeans ever invaded Africa with a naval force strong enough to overwhelm entire kingdoms at once, they took advantage of our hatred and spite for each other and picked us off one by one, a house divided.
Tiwa Savage did not perform for slave masters or colonial masters, she performed for opportunists, and I don't know about you, but I believe there's a greater curse upon the boy that killed his father than on the outsider that paid the boy to do it.
You're not wrong as the saying goes those who don't take note of history are doomed to repeat it
TV/MoviesWho Was The Real Queen Charlotte? The Story behind the Scenes by DyshApp(op):
Who was the original Queen Charlotte, and how did a German-born princess of color ascend to the British throne as the ruling Queen? It may sound like a fairy tale, but Netflix's hit series "Queen Charlotte" is based on a true life story. I'll separate fact from fantasy in the hit Bridgerton series "Queen Charlotte" and the true love story between the real-life Queen Charlotte and King George.

WHO WAS PRINCESS CHARLOTTE?
The Netflix series "Queen Charlotte" portrays the character as existing with no mention of her parents, aside from a brother played by Tunji Kasim, who arranges her marriage to a stranger.

However, in reality, Queen Charlotte's backstory was quite different. Born in 1744 to German nobles Princess Elizabeth Albertina and the Duke of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, Charlotte had a sheltered upbringing with limited exposure to court life. In contrast to the Netflix series, she was one of ten children.

At seventeen, her brother arranged her marriage to King George of Britain, who faced challenges in securing his inheritance after the deaths of his parents and uncle. The Seven Years' War further complicated his position as the Duke of Mecklenburg-Strelitz.

Andoh didn't hold back on her thoughts and said, "We have gone from the rich diversity of the Abbey to a terribly white balcony. I am very struck by that. I am also looking at those younger generations and thinking: "What are the nuances that they will inhabit when they grow?"

HealthWhat To Avoid During The Rainy Season by DyshApp(op):
The rainy season in Nigeria usually lasts from May to September, depending on the region. This season is characterized by frequent rainfall, especially in May and June, increased humidity, and cooler temperatures.

Malaria is a major public health concern in Nigeria, with over 50 million cases and 207,000 deaths recorded annually. Children under five and pregnant women are the most vulnerable groups, accounting for 70% of all malaria deaths. An estimated sum of #2.04 trillion is still routinely spent on treatments yearly.

Preventing malaria during the rainy season requires a combination of measures that target both the mosquitoes and the humans they bite.

it is important to take preventive measures . Using insecticide-treated nets, indoor residual spraying, wearing protective clothing, using mosquito repellents, keeping your environment clean, and seeking medical attention are some of the measures that can be taken to prevent malaria.

Remember, prevention is better than cure, and taking proactive measures during the rainy season can help protect you and your loved ones from malaria. Stay safe and healthy during the rainy season!
