In The Digital Age, Online Dating And Swiping Right are the Status Qui for Romance. Practically gone are the days of meeting "the one" in a pub. But what about flirting by the water cooler or over Zoom? The consensual office relationship has been both a romance trope and a taboo for decades. There are many reasons someone might enter a workplace relationship. Research shows that people gravitate towards like- minded people with common personality traits, backgrounds, belief systems and ideas. Proximity and familiarity also influence attraction; something psychologists call the mere exposure effect. For better or for worse, offices are a place where like- minded people are in close proximity to each other for many hours, so it's no surprise that many people are open to love at work. A 2020 YouGov poll found that 18% of Brits met their current or most recent partner through work. If you're thinking about entering a relationship with your desk neighbour, or even your boss, here are some things to consider. 1. Is It a Heretical Relationship? Despite their prevalence, office romances are still frowned upon, and more so after the #MeToo movement. Deciding to enter a hierarchical workplace relationship (when one partner is in a higher position at work than the other) is not something to be taken lightly. 2. How Might It Affect Your Work Performance? With love and sex on the brain, is anyone getting any work done? The general stance is that canoodling is bad for business and affects productivity. Studies have found that feelings of passion and love, especially in the early stages of a relationship, can negatively impact productivity because our minds are elsewhere than the task at hand. More and more people are becoming glued to the screens on their devices daily in the rising world of technology. Whether it be watching TV, using our phones or working on a computer, people don't seem to realise the increased risks of excessive screen time, and one of the main ones is exposure to blue light. First of all, let's understand what blue light is. Visible light accounts for 50% of the sunlight spectrum, and, as the name suggests, it's the only part of the light that the human eye can detect. The blue band of this visible spectrum has an exceptionally high energy level. The longer the wavelength, the less energy it transmits. Blue light has very short, high-energy waves. There are some positive effects of blue light, such as it being widely used in photodynamic therapy, which is used to treat a range of skin conditions like acne, eczema and skin cancer, and it speeds up the process of wound healing. But the negative effects of blue light are likely to outweigh the positives for healthy people. So, how does blue light cause damage? As mentioned before, blue light emits a high energy level compared to other colours in the visible spectrum, and this high energy is strong enough to cause damage to our cells. This results in eye strain, dryness, headaches, nausea, dizziness and many more. Some research has stated that blue light or High Energy Visible (HEV) light releases free radicals and triggers oxidative stress, which can cause harm. Also, staring at screens for long hours can break down skin collagen supply, leading to premature signs of ageing such as fine lines, wrinkles, age spots and sagging skin. One more thing to mention is that the high exposure to blue light also affects how you sleep as most people develop a habit of scrolling through their phones before bed. Blue light suppresses melatonin production in the body, which is essential for getting a well-rested sleep. So now that you know all about how excessive exposure to blue light damages your skin, you probably want to know how you can best protect your skin to prevent further damage. Here are a few options that you can try. Broad Spectrum SPF Digital screens emit lights such as UVA and UVB. Therefore, you should also apply sunscreen inside the house to prevent your skin from any damage. View Article Link Read more health tips on dysh

The 2023 Nigerian elections are weeks away, and more than ever, the candidates, as well as voters, are getting prepared. As we know, Nigeria practices a multi-party system of government, where we have different parties showing up with their candidates, and this year we have candidates from eighteen (18) registered parties like PDP, APC, LABOUR PARTY, ACCORD... just to mention a few of them. For the 2023 election, Nigerians are planning to vote in a direction they have not voted before since we have a governorship candidate in a direction that lots of people thought is impossible. Yes! When it comes to our health, there are two different sets of people. Some people completely disregard it. Perhaps their mentality is "live and let's live," with no concern or tension. Or they've developed certain unhealthy habits through time that they can't shake. Or maybe they don't know how to be healthy. Then we have the HEALTH FREAKS. You know who I'm talking about; they leave no stone unturned when examining an ingredient list or menu. No day goes by without them exercising, stressing about how much (or how little) they eat, and obsessing over how to do better. We can't all be flawless, after all. But there must be a healthy middle ground where our habits should just be good enough. Let's talk about some frequent negative behaviours and suggestions about how to fix them. You should be kind to yourself. 1. BAD HABIT: NO TIME TO EXERCISE. What to do instead: • Take every opportunity to walk more. Use the stairs instead of the elevator, get off the bus one or two bus stops before yours, and park your car in a far corner of your garage. • Make yourself take laps around the office. • Stand up and move around for one to two minutes every 45 to 60 minutes. • Take your long phone calls pacing around. • Use a standup desk. • Watch your favourite TV show in a vertical position (i.e.not, lying) View Article link Follow us for more wellness Tips at https://www.facebook.com/dyshmedia Was this solution helpful let us know Join our Wellness community on the Dysh app where we talk, share information to help our body Cc dominique Sissy3
