TravelRe: 2 Nigerian Students Deported From Canada After A Year In Hiding by eaglechild: 9:47am On Oct 19, 2013
R.Fella:
I really pity this country. Our tainted image is not even helping matters at all...any small tin u do abroad, will bounce back simply because ur a Nigerian....I bet u, if these girls were British or American, they would NEVER be deported!
Why would an average Briton or American go to Canada for university education?
HealthRe: Nigerians Spend 250bn On Medical Tourism Annually by eaglechild: 9:33am On Oct 19, 2013
kalokalo: Nigerian medical professionals are so clueless and vision-less. What stops hundreds of doctors from coming together, pool resources and expertise and found world class hospitals that will meet the needs of any medical specialty needed by patients in Nigeria? Must they wait for the government to do everything considering that the government is peopled by just as clueless folks as the average Nigerian? The best hospitals in the world are partnerships from as many as 500 doctors (Mayo Clinic, Johns Hopkins, MD Anderson etc)

All our own doctors know how to do is jostle for civil service health jobs and going on strike over poor conditions. There are several other professionals in Nigeria e.g lawyers, accountants, estate surveyors etc and what they do is found partnerships / firms that can compete with multinationals e.g Akintola Williams & Co (Accounting) FRA Williams & Co (Law) Diya Fatilimilehin & Co (Estate Agency). These professionals have Nigeria's market on lock-down and we don't need to travel abroad for foreign expertise. Why cant our doctors do the same?

One the the best hospitals in Nigeria is Eko Hospital. It was a partnership founded by Dr. Eneli, Dr. Kuku and Dr. Obiora. Our Banks came together and today have the local market on lock-down. Do bankers have 2 heads or it is cheaper to establish a bank than a world class hospital? A world class hospital in Nigeria will break even in its first year of operation.

Our people go to India for medical expertise in private hospitals set up by average Indian doctors who earn the equivalent of 65 thousand Naira per month. Our own medical professionals for all they earn cannot replicate same. If bankers, Lawyers, Accountants and other professionals in Nigeria can thrive without government intervention and can compete with foreign multinationals in the same market, Nigerians have no business going abroad for medical care.

We didn't need government run law firms, accounting firms, banks for these professionals to take the bull by the horns and thrive in their own country. We don't need any government intervention in health care for it to thrive. We only need entrepreneurial medical professionals to set up world class hospitals. The market is already there.
Bullocks!
Health is a different kettle of fish.

How many Nigerians can afford EKO hospital bills?
Maybe 1%
Don't be deceived, it is still those people who go to India.

We should focus on providing good facilities in govt hospitals and health insurance for the populace.
If health care professionals take loans and set up "world class hospitals", perhaps malaria treatment could cost as much as 50k.
You will still come back and accuse them of being elitist.

The most useful benefit of carrying a European passport is "free" medicare.
CelebritiesRe: Yinka Ayefele’s Band-boys Disappear During US Tour by eaglechild: 7:14am On Oct 19, 2013
It is very surprising that almost no one has come out to clearly condemn this act which further gives a bad name to Nigeria.
Instead people are busy suggesting solutions to a crime.

If it is Okoro, Okeke, or Sambo and Aminu.
All hell will have been let loose.

Bigots.
FoodRe: Is Palm Oil Really Bad For Your Health? by eaglechild: 6:49am On Oct 19, 2013
0monnakoda: At the person who said he does not eat congealed oil . The truth is oils that are artificially hardened by hydrogenation are used in the food industry in foods like biscuits, bread, cakes and pastries almost always. People eatig these food rarely think they are eating fat but they are. Refined and deodorized to enhance palatability these fats are ubiquitous. Palm oil is natural and in my view safer than butter or lard which are widely used in baking. The other thing is interest groups promote and champion research that favours them.
Correct.
TravelRe: Remodeled Enugu Airport In Pictures by eaglechild: 9:35pm On Oct 18, 2013
Ewarrior: Look.. All wot u av listed is just attending to one half of d problem and leaving d oda half to decay,

Whether u have total radar coverage of the whole world sef if a plane is not fit to fly, it will eventually crash..

Let me tell u, 90 percent of all d aircraft used by our local airline operators are not fit to fly,it is only by the grace of God dat we don't record crashes daily..

Common sense should let d minister know dat as she is remodelling airports and installing safety equipment, she should also make sure dat planes should be inspected on a regular basis, erring operators be sanctioned and faulty planes be grounded. But it seems common sense is very uncommon in dis FRESH AIR ERA..

Don't even get me started on the issue of flight delays, flight cancellations and attitude of airport officials
You sound like a naughty witch.
The guy took time to list all her achievements and this is the thrash you come up with?
PoliticsRe: Stella Oduah Given 72-hour Ultimatum To Resign By Anti-corruption Network by eaglechild: 8:34pm On Oct 18, 2013
Pukkah: Your argument is pointless and baseless. Your reasoning is unpatriotic (Nigerian/Biafran) and ungodly.

Why not let Oduah be tried in court like Bankole and Fani-Kayode?

Why are you cuddling corruption just because she HAPPENS to be an Igbo woman? Aren't you ashamed of this line?

How many of Bankole and Fani-Kayode's kinsmen on this forum defended them because of their TRIBE?

Are you so insecure?

Why not let the law take its course?

Would you cuddle this type of corrupt allegation in your private company?
Some ignorant folk somewhere reading your posts may actually think you are sincere.
We all know better.
PoliticsRe: Stella Oduah Given 72-hour Ultimatum To Resign By Anti-corruption Network by eaglechild: 8:19pm On Oct 18, 2013
anonimi: The issue not whether she uses bullet proof car or not.
The issue is the stealing through over-invoicing, which is corruption to be condemned by anyone with an iota of sense.
Get it huh
I'll think about what you wrote.

Ehe,
Who authorized the transaction?
What is the worth of the car?
if it is truly over invoiced then it is wrong.

dbride: Another sheep brain here comparing his/her 'bloody' MD in a corporate org with civil service. Ok, the two bulletproof cars are even parked at the minister's house in VGC Lekki while she is in Abuja. Does your 'bloody' MD park his in his village while he uses other car to and from work wherever you may be? Btw, who compelled you to comment?
Pls my MD is working for the federal govt of Nigeria so shut it!
I repeat it is NO BIGGIE.

Car TalkRe: How Does One Control A Car When Front Tyre Blows Out On High Speed? by eaglechild: 4:16pm On Oct 17, 2013
ihimami: It is because of this kind of situation that I like my Audi A6 brands and my previous 2003 VW Passat. I have had a lot of experiences of tire burst on top speeds without my heart jumping out. In 2010 I recommended and help my friend bought 2003 VW Passat and they have cause to thank God for saving their life because as he was travelling to KD from Abuja in his Passat at a speed of 170k/h, when suddenly he said he heard a noise like as if the tire pick something. By the time he stop the car and came down he discovered it was the front tire that had busted, in fact, he called me immediately to thank me for recommending the car to him. Most Nigerians shy away from these German models because of supposed high maintenance cost in favour of Japanese models which has less safety features. To me safety comes first before any consideration for cost of maintenance.
Burst tire at 170km/hr shocked shocked
I hope you know that car is front wheel drive
Looks like you have more of it to sell undecided
TravelRe: The Best Passports For Unrestricted Travel Around The World by eaglechild: 3:57pm On Oct 17, 2013
Venchy: You are living in denial by your comments.

Nigerians definitely get harassed by the criminal working at the airport while Top countries get preferential treament because they can't stand their diplomatic trouble or been sacked.
You are quoting me out of context.
It is faster to get cleared if you travel to Nigeria with your Nigerian passport.

I mean when you get into Nigeria, there is a separate line for Nigerians which is express,
other nationals have a separate line.
I have never had any trouble getting into Nigeria with my green passport.

Anyway the Japanese are the only nationality that do not require a visa to China.

I figure in today's world that is the most valued passport.
Forget all the Euro hype.

Currently if you travel with with your Nigerian passport, you don't get to queue up.

What is this? angry
Private vocational university?
Must she put university behind?
She is simply opening a vocational centre.

Nigeria is yet to recover from the proliferation of substandard glorified secondary schools esp in the SW (like Tai Solarin, OOU etc)
Now she wants to add Iyalode vocational centre abi university.

She should focus on learning how to apply make up in a less scary manner, not something over her head.

Corp members should endeavor to have something on that easily identifies them.
This could make all the difference.
