shymexx: Fighting? - How? Pockets of dissidents with firecrackers when the Germans were all over France eating french fries.Lol! Perhaps i stretched the Charles de Gaulle part, but he is considered a hero. You really carry a red passport, which you are proud of. Kudos. |
Kingmojo: The British empire will most likely go down as greatest empire the world has ever seen. I am still amazed how a small island were able to take over most of the world. They took what they wanted. Remember most of the Americas was controlled by the French and Spanish. Look at it today. Britain has had more influence in the world than any other country. No doubt, the British empire is one of the greatest.(don't know if they are greater than the Roman empire). The world is in cycles The Roman empire The British empire The American domination. (Remember the French role in making America the supposed land of the free.) Now CHINA. |
vedaxcool: we should have stood our ground.Didn't they? You were referring to Biafran war in your post in case you forgot. |
vedaxcool: bros 1billion likes it is a pity our leaders cowed so easily, to the same France that armed biafra instead of feeding them.Should Nigeria have attacked France? |
shymexx: Brother, when it comes to defending homeland - everything else becomes irrelevant. They can always rebuild another Paris and Louvre, however, when you lose your freedom - there's no coming back from that. You've to make sacrifices. Imagine if the Hitler and the Nazi's had not gone on their ego trip and attacked Russia, France would be a German colony now. The Brits fought with everything they have got despite all the bombs the Germans were dropping on all the UK cities. Heck, Buckingham Palace got hit, but they kept on fighting like warriors. Russia gave everything it had to defend the homeland - sacrificing 20 million people is not a joke. However, they had to pay that price for freedom. There was Vichy France and the rest of France. France continued fighting. They also sacrificed a lot Charles de Gaulle kept on fighting from exile. Trust me Britain would have fallen to the Germans. The same Brits have fallen to the French several times and vice versa. |
Wake me up when he lifts a mikano, not I pass my neighbour. |
shymexx: After what happened during world war 2 and how the French didn't put up any resistance - I doubt their image would ever recover from that. Subsequently, they have been smacked around in almost every other country except militarily weak sub-saharan African countries. The French did put up a resistance, Free French movement, fought throughout. I agree WW2 will remain an indelible embarrassment, but come to think of it, perhaps if a proper battle was fought, the world would have lost the priceless treasures of Paris including the Louvre. A large chunk of European history and civilisation would have been erased. In any case, do you think if Britain and France were to swap locations, the same fate would not have befallen the Brits? Lol at mini Napoleon complex. Sounds good. |
alanmwene: you are just trying to justify cowardice!Vietnameses took on French with all the odds stacked against them ,but they crushed frenchs in Dien bien phu:In other words, you are saying that Vietnam is stronger than America and France? I don't know how to help you really. |
shymexx: Come on, now. I doubt Hitler really wanted to defeat the UK, to be honest. I believe he just wanted to bring the country to its kneels, but everything was more of a game than anything else. The Royal Family is German - and best believe they had direct communication with the Germans during the war. Heck, all of Germany's best military assets were deployed against the Russians in lieu of the UK.You are mostly right about the Russians, but I can see your sentiment lies with the Brits(The Brits are notorious for calling the French pu***). Even the Americans were disgraced by the Vietnamese not just the French. Was it not the French that struck the first blow against Libya while UK was still waiting for their American masters to give them a go ahead? Truth is France has sworn never to lick anyone's buttt after WW2. They have been testing their nuclear weapons since the 80s in the midst of controversies. The French have had very embarrassing war records in the past just like every other world power. It's just that the Brits make it a point of duty to rub it in their faces and being a former British colony, that's what we see. |
daz_york: "Advice" is also a plural noun so it is grammatically incorrect to attach the singular "a" or "an" to "advice". You should have said "I gave some candid advice" instead of adding "a".See Phildon's post. Thank you. |
phildon: I disagree with you on injecting 'candid' into his sentence. While the noun number structure is not his, the qualification of the noun is entirely his business.Thank you. Jakande schools don't teach this. |
The Secretariat is taking shape. Pls how many floors is it? |
Orlando Owoh: It is only a fool, like those that have already, that will believe this lie. Ask yourself, how come the pilot and those in the cockpit were arguing over the air worthiness of the plane without the passengers noticing? Is the cockpit that enclosed that the passengers in the front role could not hear the "argument?"Have you ever been in an airplane?! ![]() Or you just want to troll? |

All these glorified secondary schools littered all over the SW. Tai Solarin , OOU, etc; Should learn to give lectures in English, if it is not Yoruba major being taught. |
Why the title plumber? Does it alter the crime? |
Pls can someone throw more light on what makes mastery of Microsoft word special. |
jullary: My wife is from AKWA-IBOM, she doesn't understand yoruba! And am from OGUN-STATE! I don't understand her language so the only way we can comunicate is english so my children don't understand yoruba. What about thatTry and speak Yoruba to them irrespective, they will understand. I have a friend, the father is Igbo the mother is Hungarian. He and all his siblings can speak Igbo and Hungarian fluently,as well as English. Their parents spoke their respective languages to them. This helped the mum to learn Igbo and the dad to learn Hungarian. |
The mountain of fire and miracles ministry Enugu main branch is undergoing demolition. The building is said to be located very close to a water way and drainage and will hamper the ongoing construction of a dual carriage bridge at Zik's Avenue. Several notices have been allegedly served to them, by the state government, but they were apparently unheeded. Clarification is needed by church members on the reason for not relocating. |
