fyneguy: Lie from the pit of Ministry of Agric grin

Processed rice otherwise called Parboiled rice is more nutritious sir. Unprocessed rice is called paddy rice. Now google both for confirmation.
I have done so sir and came up with this.
All types of rice begin life as paddy rice,
including the highly nutritious brown rice
varieties. The harvested rice kernels begin
processing with the removal of the hull.
Every brown rice product is simply rice that
has been harvested from the hull and has
not been subjected to intensive processing.
White rice products go on to a more
comprehensive processing in order to obtain
the bright white appearance that is enjoyed
by many consumers.
Note that in my previous post i said that imported rice undergoes more RIGOROUS processing.
Note also that imported rice is often much whiter than the local rice which tends to be brown.
This is basic Agric.
I never equated locally processed rice to paddy rice.
Thank me for the lessons.

No dumbo
Are you trying to say that it was the airport which was built just in 2006 that accelerated Thailand's economy in retrospect because prior that Thailand was already an economy to reckon with.
You don't put the cart before the horse.
Do you want the FG to replicate Bangkok airport in Enugu?
How much will it cost?
Or would you rather a have a gradual natural process of expansion like happens everywhere in the world.
London Heathrow didn't start off as big as it is presently.
It has continually undergone expansion.
Same with Hong Kong, Singapore's Changi, Korea's Incheon etc. They all had humble beginnings.
Symphony007: and you think thailand became among the most visited capital cities by using primitive airports like us. Listen kiddo, in 2006, thailand closed the don mueang international airport and built the suvarnabhumi international airport which stands today and has made travelling in thailand very pleasurable thereby increasing passangers. How pleasurable it is to travel via MMA or any other nigerian airport? Ever heard how britsih airways and some other airlines and diverting nigerian passangers to ghana for take off? That speaks volumes.

Was it the increase number of passengers that made them shut down the old airport and construct a new one or was it the new airport that caused the number of passengers to increase?
Don't reason like a mop please.

Secondly, that airport is not by any level international airport standard. I have emphasied that in so many post earlier. And lastly my good friend, if every nigerian thinks like you, this country will never development. No offense!! Seriously, just read the last few lines of your post.
You are beginning to sound like an uneducable broken record.
Others are also tired of telling you that the terminal is the refurbished LOCAL wing.
Construction of the international terminal is underway.
The runway expansion is complete hence the commencement of international flights.
FYI Bangkok is the most visited country capital in the world ahead of London, Paris and Tokyo, so don't draw ludicrous analogies.
You are one of those who think they are intelligent but often get flawed because they fail to get the basics.

Destoned local rice is often more expensive than the regular imports.
I agree they are not always available but that depends on where you live and how much you are willing to pay.
Local rice is also healthier and more nutritious as rigorous processing of imports tend to reduce its nutritive content.

joshuapharm: All this are just crap! Shudnt be a basis for prescribing. Except surgery, ob & gyn, and radiology, there nothing special about what u just wrote. The key thing to prescribing is in knowing the aethiology, pathophysiology and say epidemiology and all the pharmacology involved in a disease state, which we do fully in clinical pharmacy at undergrad level. We do full pharmacology (just to let you know), so spreading the diff topics into diff semesters and sessions only give room for adequate and full study of the various topics(pharmacology is very wide, u must know that) .. I wonder y med stds jam pack everything into a year and few months, they'll open their mouths and say they know pharmacology.. *deep sigh*. I shud rest my case here.. Work dey to do abeg..

I respect pharmacists, and they have a pivotal role to play in health care.
That role however DOES NOT include drug prescription.
We seem to forget here that the word prescription has a prefix doctor's.
It is DOCTORS' PRESCRIPTION not nurses' or pharmacists' etc.
No where in the developed world can one obtain medication unless OTC without a doctors' prescription.
Just picture a patient walking into a drug store with a paper written diagnosis breast cancer.
What will the pharmacist do?
Will he start doling out chemotherapy drugs? Isn't the idea way ludicrous.
Even if it is an apparently "simple" diagnosis like malaria. The drug given differs depending on so many other underlying factors.

What are you going to prescribe for a post op patient when you are not privy to the pre and intraop conditions.
How will you monitor the patient and decide when to alter your prescription if need be when you are not trained to do so.
Don't, you see you are deviating from your role.

Pls it is dangerous to misinform the public.
There is a difference between personal opinion and misinformation.

on a good day:
let me enlighten you a bit with this scenerio A patient comes into the clinic, where the doctor, the pharmacist, the nurses and the scientist are their to see the patient, the doctor, who are expert in diagnosis, clerks the patient, comes up with the differentila diagnosis, works with(not order) the scientist to come up with the definite diagnosis, the pharmacist,(the drug expert comes in) asseses the apprpriet drug and vet them, the nurse nurses the patient to health, now if anything goes wrong,we definately know who to hold responsible.mr. dr,did u diagnose correctly,mr pharma, was the drug right for the diagnosis, nurse how did u nurse this patient, and pls mr scientist, did you do your work professionally..But when one man diagnosis, prescribe, dispense, assess and discharge, how can one expect a clean job.
Secondly,if a doctor can become a consultant in paeditrics, why can't a pharmacist become a consultant in paediatric drugs,my brother, you must understand that consultatiothe rpppn is quite different from clerking a patient, all we are saying is about professionalism in line with expertise.
Please, doctors don't hate others for beginning to understand their rights, and importance.
Please stop misinforming the public.
Pharmacists be it clinical or not do not prescribe drugs. They manufacture and dispense drugs.
If a patient undergoes surgery eg prostatectomy and the doctor writes diagnosis post prostatectomy, what will the pharmacist prescribe?
Prescriptions are tailored to each individual patient. It is not a mass production process. Based on the history and examination and lab findings a doctor may decide to give different drugs to patients with the same diagnosis. Does everyone with malaria get to take the same drug?
Lab scientists do not give definitive diagnosis. They carry out the requested investigation.
If a stroke patient comes down with fever and an mp is requested, which later comes out positive, is the definitive diagnosis now malaria?

Pls stop misinforming the public.

on a good day:
My
brother, the strike is not really about money or salaries but mainly for
professionalism and separation of duties along the lines of professional
qualification, people are fighting to free themselves from the strangulating clutch
of medical doctors,people/workers feel that what we run in nigeria is the
ministry of doctors and not ministry of health, the medical doctors feels that a
lab scientist who through his duty comfirms diagnosis before a doctor could
commence treatment is not a professional after five years of education, the
ministry of health feels no other person is qualified to head an hospital (an
administrative post) except a medical doctor, the medical doctors feels that a
clinical pharmacist is not competent enough to prescribe a drug, advice him on
drug use etc,the minister of health is a medical doctor and he foolishly thinks a
medical doctor is a mr know it all,the disharmony in the health sector is
orchestrated by dr ransom kuti and sustained by NMA, The workers feels that as
a profesional, they should be allowed to do their job,and what is due to them
should be given to them, how can a medical doctor feel he/she can do without
the the nurse,if you see the way and manner they order nurses around, you will
feel for them, my dear when and anytime the president and the minister of
health ensure that everyone does their work according to their professional
inclination and compensated as such, then this sort of strike will be a thing of
the past.
You are just being sentimental.
Why would a pharmacist prescribe a drug for a patient he didn't clerk and examine and does not know the peculiarities surrounding the diagnosis (which may be provisional)
A well trained pharmacist will vet the dose of the drug prescribed, look out for any potential drug- drug interaction the doctor may have missed and make sure the prescribed drug is dispensed.
He may also suggest a generic alternative if a drug is unavailable.
His duty is not to prescribe drugs. He may however dispense OTCMs over the counter mediacations.

Nurses work under and with doctors.
They carry out doctors instructions written in the patients' case files.
They are indispensable in modern health practice.

Lab scientists in the hospital setting have a clear role of carrying out lab investigations ordered by the doctor.
They are not the same as research scientists working on specialised labs.

miky: whats mentality with of our people and wanting governments to do everything.. so you want the government to organize and clean market fronts, when the owners are busy doing nothing... we are cursed in that country for real

what happened to government hands out of private venture.. you want nigeria to be like the usa, but you realize the government doesnt do everything except for regulations...
On then contrary most markets I know do have the sellers clean around their stalls .
The problem is with central disposal of waste, which is the responsibility of the govt.
If you notice, the large refuse disposals around the market areas are always overflowing because of the tremendous amt of waste generated which is not promptly cleared.
Again the sellers do pay tax and should get better infrastructure like tarred /cemented markets.

What I see in the picture is comparable to a KIT CAR.

A kit car, also known as a "component car", is an automobile that is available as a set of parts that a manufacturer sells and the buyer then assembles into a car themselves. Usually, all of the major mechanical systems such as the engine and transmission are supplied along with the body.

This should not be confused with 'hand built cars' which are typically built from scratch by an individual.

REPLACE "CAR" with "HELICOPTER" and you will get the JOKE of an "INVENTION"
I don't get it.
I hope I'm not mentally challenged.
