goodslayer: burst your lies once more damn more poor peeps. Get your a55 to southeast hinterland and see first class poverty. Help shared relieve materials during the last flood disater in alaigbo and i see the whole igboid follies of emptiness. Tell me which south west state is poorer than ebonyi state. How many southwest state has slum worst than opoko, woliwo, akunnie, awada et al. Dont just go there with me. Anambra with all their mouth cant boast of a single airport you have to fly into the state through enugu isnt that a disgrace.
I believe he was just quoting national statistics.

CyberG: I live in a big city here and there are still slums! Now that is bring realistic but you say ibo land is filled with gold and silver like paradise and no slums? Well, go back to your land while we transform our country one slum at a time! grin grin
I don't and have never lived in Lagos.

Everyday some peeps come here and yap all day long about some backward overcrowded slum called Lagos.
I wonder what Parisians and Singaporeans will then do?

It helps test loyalty and endurance and weeds out the leeches/gold-diggers.

NO Nigerian girl will ever say no to a range rover.

PoliticsRe: Dress Code In Lagos House Of Assembly Worthy Of Emulation by eaglechild: 9:58pm On Aug 06, 2013
Jaidey-one:
if you are hell bent on showcasing your cultural heritage at every given time then by all means get rid of your non-cultural clothes, U can trek to work or better still ride a donkey. We are quick ti embrace planes, cars, computers and mobile phones but we still feel dressing to work the western way is not African. Its African. Its the global trend and it should be embraced. There should be dress codes for public officials and its the norm all over the world. Take a look at pictures from AU summits and tell me how many countries are trying to showcase their cultural heritage. The same public officials showcasing the so called cultural heritage wear agbada and launder our money into foreign bank accounts. Why should doctors, lawyers, bankers, etc wear suits and western clothings when the public officials are exempted? Shouldn't we cease every given opportunity to show case our cultural heritagehuh Or are these the only people that should be mentally enslaved like u claim?

Suits and ties are no longer western culture, just the same way English is now a global language. Its either we embrace civilization or we get left behind while embracing our cultural heritage.
U are utterly moronic by your very stupid analogy of equating trekking to being African.

There are better sources of protein out their.
Pythons are mostly kept as pet not barbarically cut up in this manner.

I really feel for Yorubas.
For a hardworking and focused group of people to come to the nations former capital and develop it, taking up all the choice areas and leaving the slums for them.
It think that really sucks.
I mean the type that will make u want to reach out for a bottle of rat poison and put yourself out of misery like the custom dictates.
I guess the major disturbance is that tout-ism is fast becoming obsolete and giving way to more acceptable sources of income and they can't compete.
I really wonder why they gloat over other people's hard work in a country's capital albeit former.

I wonder why no other portion of their land is developed.
I mean why is adoekiti desolate and ibadan a pitiable scenery of dilapidated rusted brown roofs begging for civilisation.
Why is Oshougbo gripped by the tenets of a false native religion.

How come only Lagos saw the 'light'?
Could it be that a progressive group of people found it humane to develop and share their forward thinking nature.
I hope what happened to most of Africa when the Europeans left will not happen to Lagos.
I pray the buildings will not stagnate and turn rusty like the buildings in their true native towns.
I hope their northern masters will not turn every street corner into minarets like Ilorin.

Whatever happens the property of the progressives which are in the majority will not be touched.

HealthRe: Benue State University Teaching Hospital In Pictures. by eaglechild: 12:39am On Jul 31, 2013
Hospitals are not run on empty colourful buildings.
The theatre i saw looks depressing.
However, kudos for the good landscaping and serene environment.
The main challenge is equipping the hospital.
A CT, MRI,Radiotherapy, and MODERN theatres etc are the way to go.
Then MANPOWER. The easiest way to kill off the place is to employ just natives cause they will not be able to provide all the expertise esp at this stage. So they need to be liberal.

fsb: My brother thank you for your post. When accidents happen on bad roads they say the roads are terrible. When they happen on perfectly smooth, 10 lane roads they say it is due to obsolete design.

I lived in Abuja until recently and accidents will continue to happen on those roads esp ONEX road because:
1. A lot of money-just-come-buy-'new'-tokunbo with ZERO driving experience start dragging with experienced hands at high speeds
2. Careless driving by so-called experienced drivers (I once saw a car swerve from the fast lane into the service lane and he got himself bashed luckily not by a trailer)
3. Nigerian factor: in this case the boldness to disobey driving laws with reckless abandon because we are a national of lawlessness.
lol!
So true, u see a lot of people with a 14 year old 99' camry trying to outdo a tear rubber range rover sport. Easy way to get yourself killed. Know your car's limit and keep to it.

PoliticsRe: How Would You Manage Corruption In Nigeria If You Are President? by eaglechild: 7:05pm On Jul 29, 2013
Fire all political office holders from Vice president to local govt counselor and hire Koreans or Singaporeans to do the job.
That way they can effect the death penalty i would have put in place for any form of embezzlement(including 20 naira)of govt funds.

Remember seeing him in MMA departure in 2009.

Epitome of wisdom. One of the best Nigeria ever had.

He is actually super-normal.

Except that your reasoning is too low to catch up.

No problem, that is why you see pupils taking last in a classroom.

We are not evenly endowed. Soyinka is far beyond your reasoning level.
