Ogun is a GROSS under achiever, that is not utilizing her proximity to Lagos optimally. Abeokuta is a shadow of what it shld be(a glorified semiurban settlement, instead of a thriving tourist destination). There is nothing of note in those pics. The one with AMOSU in a pit struggling to commission a project is outright ridiculous! |
AMOSU may well be doing some work. However, going by these pics, i cant see anything impressive. Pls lets not help these politicians loot us freely by blowing their trumpets |
Abyjah: Way to go , boy. The entire armies of the UN put together cannot stop a vision whose time is at hand. Be steadfast and you'll colonize planets.Dayuum! Spot diagnosis substance abuse. ?weed, cocaine, LSD, Gum, BZDP |
UNN at it again! Just yesterday a UNN prof sold his art work for 11.4M I believe UNN still produces the best graduates till date. |
@petrodollar Ben Enweonwu's work went for 13.5M previously. His works also rake in big cash |
jammyng: He's ghanaian by birth, very quiet man. He taught me a borrowed course while in school.I am beginning to wonder if Ghanaians are better at everything. |
okpara ugo: I visited one man's house in Ohafia, Abia state, there wasnt any type of artefact i didnt see.It is an impressive trend. Many of the buyers are foreigners though, who end up reselling to international art collectors and museums at higher prices. |

“Grandma’s Cloth Series VI” worth N11.4M by El Anatsui(Oil on wooden panels, 132 x 262 cm. 1992)

The ArtHouse Contemporary Limited auctions really deserves a resounding round of applause. Also laudable is the full-house gathering at every one of its editions. On its ninth edition last Monday at the Ikoyi, Lagos-based Wheatbaker Hotel, the biannual art event trundled on, in blissful oblivion of the gloomy economic prognoses of the outside world. El Anatsui’s oil on wood panels “Grandma’s Cloth Series VI” (Lot 54) edged out others to become the auction’s bestselling work at the hammer price of N11.4 million. Anatsui was born in Anyako, and trained at the College of Art, University of Science and Technology, in Kumasi, in central Ghana. He began teaching at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, in 1975, and has become affiliated with the Nsukka group.(wikipedia). Yusuf Grillo’s oil on board painting, “Sango Worshipper” sold for the hammer price of N 7.4 million, as the second bestselling work. Ben Enwonwu’s oil on board painting, “Agbogho Mmoo” and his bronze head, “Remi”, sold for the hammer prices of N3 million and N2.5 million, respectively. Granted, there was this homage to the masters, which accounted for the fact that their works clinched the first five positions as the bestselling works. Yet, it is undeniable that the bidders’ whims – albeit momentarily – seemed to take flight, far off into more conceptual realms. That explains why Nnenna Okore’s clay and burlap work, “Akwa Ocha”, could sell for a respectable hammer price of N1.5 million or Chidi Kwubiri’s pointillist oil and acrylic on canvas offering going for N1.1 million. Then call the N1.6 million hammer price sale of Peju Alatise’s mixed-media relief, “Aso-Bora”, a nod to both industry and creativity. http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/a-time-for-masterly-offerings-/132276/ |

Spyder Can you pls give some update on the proposed secretariat building. Heard it is a massive project |
Since Aba residents and the traders' association are not vocal enough to fight for their right to good governance. I can only say that they deserve what they are getting. |
PROUD-IGBO:Thanks for throwing more light. I dont think the jetways will be asking for too much since it is an international airport. It should be standard. |
Pls can anyone answer this question? Has it been proved beyond reasonable doubt that the 2 pharmacists actually sold the said medication to the murderers? |
Wonder if the passengers can board the aircraft directly from the terminal building without having to walk to the plane, that will really be nice. |
4chi: And why not? Your brothers have taken their brigandage to another level and you don't want the world to know. Your land lies is infested with extreme criminality and you sit down in Lagos talking crap. It's amazing that up till now, ohaneze has not made a single pronouncement on this extremely negative tendency of the ibo to make money out of the pains of their kith.continue to hide your head in the sand spuriously claiming 99% of Lagos and 101% of Abuja yet unable to go home for Xmas..pathetic lotHave u met me in Lagos before? Is there any ethnic undertone in what i said for u to resort to name calling or are u hallicinating? You come across to me as a gullible nitwit. Stop fabricating and conjecturing what i never said. |
