nikkykay: Nonsene attention seeker! Lole buru ozu onye ozo o' dika o' bu osisi.... It's always un-important until, it happens to you or someone close to you. |
what if the Op did not do anything? What if Wifey has found someone else, better than Op.... in bed..... Financially.... more handsome.... or she just fell in love with another? What if Wifey is just fed up? Why must women always ask "what did you do to her?" when a man is at the receiving end? But when a woman is at the receiving end of wife battering, infedelity from the husband, or the husband leaving her..... women don't ask such questions. It could be that the Op did nothing wrong. Or it could be that he did something wrong. Let him tell his story first, before all of you will rush off to false assumptions. |
ritux: I wrote Jamb once.WOW.....Goodluck is you portion and may this Goodluck never depart from you. |

Redhot111: Why do u suggest he resigns? Putting urself in his shoes, wat else would u hv done?I thot Jona didnt have shoes? *justasking* |
yuzedo: Wait! She paid N250,000 for a job whose annual salary is N164,272??!??You guys don't understand how this works. N162,272 is the annual basic salary. But the racket they will be doing in the course of their duty is the koko of the matter. You will be surprised at how many Grade level 8 or 9 officers that live large on that meagre salary. If things work in their favour, that 250,000 willbe recouped in the first year of work. And moreover they will probably start up a business along side their job, in a very shortwhile. People outside the civil service don't understand these things. |
ifyalways: Pictures are definitely not of the said babies so I doubt the credibility of the story. Bloggers and traffic.Ify, of recent you havee turned to a doubting Thomas. I don't know if the pix is of the babies. But the story reads credible enough. They left home with 2,500. By the time they got to LUTH it was remaining 1850. They were asked to bring 4000 to buy drugs for the remaining two, since one has died on the way. By the time they will go and return, the two remaining babies have died. RIP to the babies. |
ifyalways: Not denying or affirming the story but that Picture cannot be that of a Nigerian Lawmaker. No wayYou better believe what you see and hear. Nigeria is a *Wonderful land*. |
Lyns32uk: ode!....4x4,12-man produced Chinua Achebe, Wole Soyinka n d restWhy are you bothering with names. If private Universities were in Vogue during our father's days how many of them would have been graduates.j |
ILIDEFI: That is outrageous!!! 3 million per session to study medicine? Lord have mercy. My brother, some people here believe that as long as Education is Expensive, then it is Qualitative. Someone even said that Graduates from ABTI will not struggle for jobs with his/her peers that graduated from Fed or States Uni. As per connection things. |
Acidosis: Stop shouting.. Can you stand a graduate from American University of Nigeria - ABTI ?Ehmmmm......ABTI alumni, connection aside (cos I know that most Graduates from Private Unis are children of the so called Elites AKA Lootocrats), what kind of job do ABTI alumni "struggle" to get. Moreover, why are all these graduates from Private Universities not creating employment? Why are they not turning the inveestment made on them to dividends for their parents? Why do we not hear of Enterpreneurs breaking new grounds and those enterpreneurs are graduates of ABTI and other private Universities? Please stop spewing nonsense all in an effort to make sense. |
Sorry Bro, don't take it personal but the fact that you finished from MAU Lagos, or COSCHARIS boss's kids attend Unilag doesn't mean anything to me or the topic. As a matter of fact, It wouldn't even help reduce the school fees. Like I said and you quoted, qualitative education isn't for everyone - I am sure those that attend(ed) Babcock can tell you that. I still insist, Everyone can't live (or own a house) in Lekki phase 1 or Bouillon.
I thank the Lord that I had QUALITATIVE EDUCATION without making my parents break the bank, even though they could have easily afforded it. Goodluck to all Babcock students. |
The Writer: .Expensive does not always equate Quality. I did MBA also in UNILAG with the air conditioned classroom and all the high tech gadgets that go with such. Without Qualified and Dedicated Tutors, your parents will just be wasting their money. |
u need to change the way u think...av a positive mindset.. There is a price to pay for everything.. Just to call him na wahala but u want free things..
Preacher preach on. Likee I said initially, goodluck with your endeavours. |
exxell: HOW MANY TIMES THIS YEAR WILL THIS SAME TOPIC MAKE FRONT PAGE? I WOULDNT BE SUPRISED WHEN I WAKE UP ONE DAY AND SEE "BEHOLD SEUN'S LONG MANHOOD" ON NAIRALAND FRONT PAGE! |
@all How do you expect private universities to be ranked ahead if UI, UNN, UNIBEN etc. They've only been around for about 14 years and some are actually doing okay. It is UNLIKELY any university within 15 YEARS would exceed other well established ones: Most of which - albethey presently in a worse state - are noted for excellence. But believe you me, in years to come, if the state of government universities does not improve, PROPERLY run private universities would leave them in the dust.
My dear you seem not to understand how the Nigerian system works. First and foremost it was the same Individuals in Nigerian Government that ran down our Federal and State Universities, to pave way for their own Private enterprises in the name of PRIVATE UNIVERSITIES that brought us to this sorry state in our educational journey. If the Lootocrats in Power has not embezzled the funds meant for funding education, where on earth will a Glorified Secondary School be ranking close to any state or Federal Universities. Capitalism is good, but the idea of using every sector of the economy as a business venture will surely kill off Nigeria. |
@eagle,eye Please stop parading that UNCONFIRMED NUC RANKING. It's not on the NUC site.
please you can equally check out this link dailypost.com.ng/2013/04/22/nuc-names-university-of-ibadan-number-1-in-nigeria-see-list-of-top-100/?utm_source=&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=nuc-names-university-of-ibadan-number-1-in-nigeria-see-list-of-top-100 |
citypulseng: Nobody called u a scammer. But If you are truly serious about helping people, there won't be any need to burn credit calling you when you could easily have suggested it here. By so doing, many pple will appreciate uI thought I was the only one who thought the same way. |
Don't get me wrong, the fees are outrageous, but remember, everyone cannot live in Lekki phase 1 or Bouillon in Ikoyi hence the reason for Ajengule and Mushin.
If I am not mistaking one of Nigeria's most affluent men, COSCHARIS (Cosmas Maduka) preffered to send three of his children to UNIVERSITY of LAGOS rather than any of the Private Universities. Does it mean he couldn't afford the price?Expensive Does not always mean Quality. |
Interestingly, most of the private universities (Babcock especially) have public school's lectures working there under strict monitoring (and better incentives of-course) to provide better quality tutoring. I understand they want to start bringing in renowned world-classed Foreign based Lecturers and better equip the School. So lets picture this again, better space and learning environment plus better lecturers, the standard can't be 26th position out of 100. Don't get me wrong, the fees are outrageous, but remember, everyone cannot live in Lekki phase 1 or Bouillon in Ikoyi hence the reason for Ajengule and Mushin.
My dear, we can argue back and forth. The truth remains that with all the money and incentives to the Lecturers in Public schools, Babcock will still not rank in the first ten Universities in the country Nigeria. Moreover, I will forever be thankful to God that I am a product of UNILAG. Any Akokite will compete with his peers from anywhere in the world. Lootocrats can keep wasting their loots in private UNIs, after graduation most of the graduates will have to prove to employers of labour how qualitative their expensive education is really worth. |
samilo88: So where does the NUC ranking place UnIlorin??Copy this link into your url informationnaija.com/list-of-top-100-best-universities-in-nigeria-2013-nuc/?utm_source=9jaheadlines.com&utm_medium=twitter |
samilo88: Pls in which ranking was Unilorin ranked second? Is it the ranking of southwest Universities or Nigeria as a whole? #confusedREAD. I got it off a friends FB update. I did a little digging and came up with NUC ranking later on. |
playah P: For crying out loud its a private university!!.... If you can't afford the school, then move along to another school. Simple and short!!I know your parents can afford it, but when you get off this forum ask dad and mummy how wise they are. Your parents can eeasily send you off to overseas university either in UK or US to get quality education rather than using the prtext of quality education to show off to their peers about how much they have spent on you their child. My dear, it is all about bragging things. "hey my friend, do you know that my first son is studying medicine in Babcock University" Friend replies, " You don't mean it, how are you coping now?" Dad replies, "My brother it's not easy ohh. But God is my strength." |
The Writer: All these guys spewing "ranking", I wonder the basis for that ranking. In which an institution with a 4x4, 12-man room is ranked above one with a 15x15 2-man room. Or one with decaying classrooms is ranked above one with well-functioning and adequately-equipped classrooms.Learning in an air conditioned classroom with the latest technology does not mean you will acquire quality education. Without the right Tutors and qualified personnels, your parents are just wasting their money. |
El Caballa: As an unemployed graduate since 2010,why am i still alive when others who passed out yesterday are killing themselves?Have patience, you will still die. There is no need taking your life, since no comes out of life alive. |

please can you take his picture down. A little respect for the dead and his family. Thank you. |
We really need to start building institutions..... Why can't a policy made today still stand in the next ten years. What is this back and forth for..... Again money will be wasted implementing the new policy. |
Mazi, I pray God gives you and your family the fortitude to bear this lost. RIP, Little one, Nneoma. |
Ishilove: Esere, you didn't factor Love into your analysis. Love can make a woman who is way up there in the food chain stoop to date and stick with a guy who earns far less than her. Love makes mincemeat of your submission, in my humble opinion.Like someone already said, there are exceptions to the rule. "Love" is not the norm in Nigerian relationships, it's an exception. "I love you" from a girl could mean different things. |
