Ngwakwe: Why call Kaduna Nzeogwo Igbo when you should know he is not from South East according to Yoruba and Hausa gospels.

He has now suddenly become Igbo because he led a negative example.

Doyakanu and Others who always tell us that two wrongs don't make a right have changed their gospel by referencing Kaduna Nzeogwu to exonerate Buhari the arch Murderer and a Coupist.
I see you attended your Law of Evidence lectures.
However, this is not mere hearsay. This goes beyond hearsay to issues of justice and national reconciliation. We have never revisited the events leading up to the civil war, the Hausa- Fulani officers have distracted us, as such everyone keeps talking about Kaduna Nzeogwu.

Buhari and his ilk murdered their comrades in cold blood, some in their sleep. Let's not forget the other one namely, John Shagaya.

Let's talk about now, because the generation of soldiers who witnessed these atrocities are dying out.
If you go through my posts in the past I have always argued that the events leading to the civil war should be revisited. I believe that when we as a nation talk about these things, maybe some people (especially the Igbos) will find a closure.
But for Point B who claims to be Igbo to single out just one man out of the many that participated in the July 29, 1966 coup and ask that we condemn this man is just the height of Unfairness and Bigotry.
If Nigerians want a Soverieng National Conference all well and good. But I have never and will never stand for Unfairness all in the name of me being Igbo.

What about GEJ that clearly states that he knows those behind October 1st bombing, and till date they have not been brought to Justice?
Please take this man BUHARI to court if you think he has gone against the Laws of the Land. Stop being Bigoted in your reasoning, if you must debate on a forum debate with Logic and if your Logic is better than mine, I will definitely deferr to your reasoning or at least conceed that you are better.

ceejay4real: My dear fellow Compatriots, lets ask ourselves a question. Were the Northern Officers and Soldiers justified 2 murder close to 400 Igbo Officers & Men of the Nigerian Army on the 29th of July, 1966? Afterall, Major Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu & co only killed 8 Military Officers and 4 politicians on the 15th of January earlier in the same year, totalling 12 people in all. To keep the records straight, the 12 victims are as follows: Sir Ahmadu Bello (North), Sir Tafawa Belewa (North), Chief Ladoke Akintola (West), Chief Festus Okotie - Eboh (Midwest), Brig. Samuel Ademulegun(West), Brig. Zakariya Maimalari(North), Col Kur Muhammed(North), Col Robert Shodeinde (West), Lt. Col Abogo Largema(East), Lt. Col Arthur Unegbe(East), Lt. Col Yakubu Pam (North) & Major Sam Adegoke(West). Even the East had a ''fair share'' of the dead. I may dare say that what happened under Nzeogwu's command was a bloodbath but by no means a massacre not to talk of being a planned annihiliation of politicians & members of the Armed Forces 4rm a certain section of the country or Ethnic group by the Igbos! We should pls reason like patriots here and not bigots. The British Imperialists and the Northern Oligarchy (hegemonists) were behind d false & misguided rumours abt Maj. Nzeogwu's motives just 2 make sure Gen. J. T. U. Aguiyi-Ironsi was deposed asap and replaced by a Northern Head of State so as to foster d Northern Agenda. OK, lets assume d Northern Officers were justified killing hundreds of their colleagues in cold blood, were the Pogroms (against civilians) of 1966 and Genocidal war of 1967 - 1970 also justified? Pls lets always be fair minded and avoid petty hatred and sentiments in our posts here on NL. On Gen. Buhari, I believe he was ill-advised and misguided as at the time. He was barely 24 yrs old then. So I 4give him and pray d entire Igbo race do. God bless the dead. Long Live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!
This is the very thing I fear.
Did you read the OPs opening post and subsequent ones?
Do think think the OP ever thought of Fairness before he opened this thread to single out one man out of many, to condemn?
Do you sincerely think that the OP will ever forgive Buhari (that one is even irrelevant)?

TOMORROW THE IGBOs Will be all over NL protecting their own, while some Bigoted Igbo person (whom it seems was obviously paid) will be thinking of another thread to open and condemn someone from another tribe. If we must demand for Fairness, we must be seen as dealing with others in Fairness.
If Nzeogwu were alive today and contested for presidency will the northerner vote for him?
Your answer is mostly likely to be a no
So why on earth should any SS ,southeasterner ( or a southwesterner with commonsense ) vote for Buhari?
I believe that you have a problem with comprehension. Where ever in all my post on this thread did I mention "election" or "Voting". Point B, opened a thread out of mere HATRED for the person of Buhari, and he wants the Igbos to join him in condemning a man whose action(s) was not done in isolation.
When other tribes start writing rubbish tomorrow about the Igbos and their heros, people like Point B will cry foul.

NB
I am very shocked to wake up and see this thread on the Front Page. A thread that will only show NL as a place where Tribal Bigots can come and unleash their hatred and intolerance on other tribes.
The Rwanda Genocide should serve as an example to all other African Nations, but alas Nairaland is gradually turning to a veritable ground were Bigotry is promoted. God forbid it that Nigeria should fight another civil war, but if that happens..... I can only imagine what the HATE MODs are promoting today will turn into.

Dede1: I had the rare opportunity to meet with Flt Lt Andrew Nwankwo who was the air force ADC to Ironsi in person. There was no time or instance in his narratives where issue of Fajuyi blocking the door came up. If the instances in government house in Ibadan were to degenerate to point of one soldier blocking the door and another pushing to gain entrance, then saga must be child’s play indeed.

Even in the event of arrest by police of suspect in civil case can not be allowed to degenerate to the point where suspect can block the door from the police.
Dede,
I have always suspected that you are advanced in age, at least older than most of us here. I can't argue with you on these things, but I read some of them. I equally know that you have come across some authors who described the events of those turbulent times, a little bit different from what you know to be True or untrue.
Again my respect, as I humbly bow out of this thread.

Politics › Re: How Muhammadu Buhari Murdered His Colleagues! by eagleeye2: 8:59pm On May 07, 2013
Dede1: I can safely say you are person of average intellect and baring laziness you are also capable of separating facts from fictions. Coup is not a child’s play as it is matter of life and dead. When the group of soldiers who were involved in July 29, 1966 arrested Ironsi and Fajuiyi in government house in Ibadan, anybody who understands an iota of military parlance can easily discern that both Ironsi and Fajuiyi have no command of the gatemen talk less of the sentries.

One wonders how Fajuiyi died while protecting Ironsi. Even the ADCs and Chief security officers of Ironsi and Fajuiyi were active members of the plot to overthrow the government of Ironsi. Ordinarily, the ADCs and Chief Security officers should have been the first line of protection for the C-in-C and governor. One ADC who tried to put up a fight was outnumbered, outgunned and subsequentely arrested.

Whenever you have time, I suggest you read Gowon’s biography by Eliagwu.
This is why I love Dede, as per my senior in Intelligent quotient I say "respect Sir".
But I thought one of Ironsi's aide escaped, actually I read somewhere that that the said aide and another aide from the Northern side reached a pact that if the July 29 coup(because another coup was already being rumoured to be in the offing) were to take place the man whose tribe carried out the next coup should save the other.
Also, it was this aide that narrated how Fajuyi blocked the door (even though he is actually no longer in command as you said) when they wanted to go for Ironsi. The coupist actually had to gun down Fajuyi before they were able to drag Ironsi out and humiliated him before he eventually died.
Dede, I am not disputing the fact that I am of average intelligence but I have also done a bit of reading and will equally visit the book shop soon to look for the book you talked about. Thank You.

Point B, if you want to bring Buhari to Justice, take him and all that were involved in the July Counter coup to court. There is no way in hell that you will overlook some because they are no more public figures (they chose to stay away from the limelight) and single out Buhari because some of you in your twisted logic thinks all Igbos are bereft of common sense, and will support you in condemning a man who acted alongside others.
You shame me brother.
Politics › Re: How Muhammadu Buhari Murdered His Colleagues! by eagleeye2: 8:11pm On May 07, 2013
PointB: I'll take the bolded to imply that you personally informed Azikwe and Okpara of the plot. Perhaps you should create a thread to educate us on that. This thread is interested in how Buhari murdered his colleagues in the counter coup, if I may remind you. So if you have nothing to contribute, take your rantings to another thread.
You should be above this type of Pettiness. Haba, this thread is childish. How can you in your dream world expect that only Buhari will be singled out from the whole lot that participated in the July counter coup and punished.
So Buhari should be punished because Point B says so..... abeg guy I am ashamed that I am fromt the same tribe with you, because your reasoning is bereft of any form of logic and in your mind you want other Igbos to join you in pulling down a single man who from all indication acted along the dictates of the time.

PointB: Now in sane countries, people like Buhari will cower in shame, guilt and regrets; and life a reclusive live, perpetually praying for forgiveness and cleansing of such blood of innocent souls staining their already darkened souls. But it's like the country is not only full of madmen, but equally shameless ignorant sycophants who worship them; urging on these dark soul to lord over their live. I hope they get what they yearn for, on a personally level, that is.
POINT out the sins of Buhari or remain quiet. JUSTICE FOR ONE IS JUSTICE FOR ALL.
Politics › Re: How Muhammadu Buhari Murdered His Colleagues! by eagleeye2: 7:36pm On May 07, 2013
PointB: My brother thanks for your wisdom,
I do not intend to entertain him. I only want to reach others who, though redeemable, yet think like him.
When you come up with such a sensitiv topic, you should be capable of passing across your opinion to your audience without resorting to "EMOTIONAL BLACKMAIL".
So because Buhari participated in the July Counter Coup, we should all over look the fact that it was A COUNTER COUP/RETALIATORY COUP, just because Igbo Officers were killed.
I like the Idealogy of Nzeogwu's Coup/Revolution, but for the fact that History recorded that no Major Igbo politician was killed in that Coup (that infact Azikiwe, Opara and others had a foreknowledge of the coup) it all boils down to one thing. "the killing of top men from other tribes".
Point B, next time you will do well to gather enough POINTS before opening up a thread in order to single out an individual and condemn him for an act that was not solely carried out by him.

Can you sincerely tell this forum Nairaland why you created this thread?
Politics › Re: How Muhammadu Buhari Murdered His Colleagues! by eagleeye2: 6:49pm On May 07, 2013
PointB: Actually, I am not disappointed in anyway to encounter a so-called Igbo defending the murder of his fellow Igbos by hausa/fulani elements, hiding under circumstance. Actually, there are quite a number of Igbos like yourself, who prefer to play the ostrich and pretend all is well even as Igbos are continually massacred in the north with the connivance of their leaders, in mold of Buhari, despite the fact that the we are not in the 'era of coups and civil war.'

I also wonder where you saw absolve Nzeogwu in this thread, or I praise him for killing civilians or his other soldiers during his naive coup. As a matter of fact, Nzeogwu is dead, and Ojukwu never won any election in Nigeria on the account of his role in Biafra.

As for Buhari being a murderer, I can only say you lied when you claimed it was my opinion. The source of the story is provided for you to verify. Buhari indeed either supervised or participated in the murdering of his comrades. Perhaps, you should be wondering how many of those Igbo officers Buhari personally killed in the orgy, his demeanor when he pull the trigger to send those surprised and half awake comrades to their maker.

It is shameful that you easily conceded that Nzeogwu and co in the first coup killed other soldiers, but when it was revealed that Buhari also participated in revenge killing Igbo soldiers, you defer to a court of competent jurisdiction. Pray, which court of competent jurisdiction convicted Nzeogwu (who was given a state burial by FG)? How would you claim you defend Igbo, yet pander to double standard when judging Igbos conducts vis-a-vis others? Some of you don't even know who you are anymore. It such a shame!

Nevertheless, I have not forced my view of any Igbos. I only aim for intelligent people (non Igbos inclusive) to know the man - buhari, better, especially in view of the revelation that he participated in killing defenseless people. What they do with such knowledge is entirely up to them.
POINT B,
We can argue back and forth till thy Kingdom come. The truth is that in your hatred for Buhari, you will prefer that he alone be singled out and punished for a crime that was not solely committed by him.
Go through my posts and you will see me vigorously defending the Igbos, especially the killing that took place after the July coup.
BUT WHAT I WILL NEVER DO IS TO SINGLE OUT A SINGLE MAN AND CONDEMN HIM FOR AN ACTION TAKEN BY MANY OTHERS. THAT MY BROTHER FROM IGBO LAND IS HYPOCRISY.
Politics › Re: How Muhammadu Buhari Murdered His Colleagues! by eagleeye2: 6:42pm On May 07, 2013
Dede1: You are simply ignorant of the facts. At this stage of your life, you are still dwelling on silly rumors and innuendoes such as “Fajuyi paid with his life, when he decided to protect his guest and C-IN-C Irons”.
Since I am Ignorant, Dede I will appreciate it very much if you will educate me on the events that led to Ironsi's death.
Politics › Re: How Muhammadu Buhari Murdered His Colleagues! by eagleeye2: 6:41pm On May 07, 2013
Dede1: It is unfortunate you are twisted out of human form because Muhammadu Buhari’s record as a soldier is made public. Let me inform you that one’s record as a military officer is not a subject of court deliberation. Lt Muhammadu Buhari was active participant in the July 29, 1966 coup that saw to the massacre of Nigerian officers of Igbo dissents and soldiers from eastern region.
Dede,
I have no doubt that Buhari actively participated in the July 29, 1966 Coup. The July coup was an answer to Nzeogwu's coup.
If Nzeogwu and co did not deem it fit to carry out a coup in which some Officers of the Nigerian Army from other tribes were killed, their would never have been a retaliatory coup by Buhari and co.
Please stop being clouded by Sentiment. I am not justifying any of the coupist, but don't just give a dog a bad name in other to hang it.
Take Buhari to court let him be tried for his sins, that is all I am saying. Because if Buhari is taking to court all other coupist will be taking along with him.
Justice for one is Justice for all.

So if Ojukwu (God bless his heart) had won an election while alive you people will be jumping and jubilating.
Ojukwu (as we Igbos know, is our hero), but to some other people he represents other things.
Abeg, let's be fair when we bring other people for scrutiny. Buhari (I don't Hold Forte for him) acted with the times and circumstances he found himself. It was either that he supported the Northern agenda at that time or he was killed for going against the North. Fajuyi paid with his life, when he decided to protect his guest and C-IN-C Ironsi.
That was the era they lived in, and that is what obtains then. Either you go with the rest or you are killed with the rest. Your Choice.

http://www.waado.org/nigerdelta/nigeria_facts/MilitaryRule/Omoigui/NorthCounterCoup.htm
Point B,
I may disappoint you with my reply, but I have always believed in the saying that what is source for the Igbo man, should not be poison to the Hausa or Yoruba man.
In your righteous exultation, you have forgotten that the Hausa man will always come up with the arguement that It was an Igbo man, Nzeogwu, who first introduced coup in Nigeria. Did you ever stop to think how the other people felt when a fellow soldier(s) took up arms and went to kill both civilians and Other Soldiers in the wake of the first coup in Nigeria.
You are entitled to your opinion of Buhari being a muderer and should not try to foist your views on other Igbos and/or try to make theem feel guilt for supporting Buhari and his Ideologies.
By the way am Igbo and will defend the Igbo course, but I will not foolishly think that the events of the 60's especially the era of Coup and blood letting leading to the civil war, will make me emotionally blackmail.
Until Buhari is tried by a competent court of Justice, he still remains Innocent of all the accusations you levelled against him.

Ishi,
I agree that Flow didn't need to mention your name in his reply, but if you can calm down and look at it from as an outsider or a bystander you will understand that Macjive was trying to lock both you and Flow's horn together. An example of what Macjive was trying to do is like a man trying to compare his first wife other women. And the man did thee comparison in the presence of his wife or to her hearing.
I am a fan of both you and Flow, and I must commend both of you. Every style of writing is like a signature, each writer has his and it will take a 360 degrees turn around for a writer to change his style of writing.

BeautyFULL85: You knw Ishilove, u took those words right off my mouth! I've been following his thread for a while now, and i've noticed he doesnt seem to knw how to handle criticism! Instead of trading words with ur critic like ur fans did, t'would have bin better if u said "thank you", and continued. U dont have to agree with wat he said! Shows a level of maturity on ur part. And besides, d critic just mentioned tinz he wasn't comfortable wit in ur story... I for one couldnt understand most of d tinz u wrote in there, seems u're not too particular abt some of ur reading audience. And would u pls do as d lady said and stop using her name for ur argument...! I'm so sure in a matter of minutes, some goons will be here quoting me and spewing rubbish. Well, knock urselves out!
Please be adviced that I am not a goon, or one of Flows azz lickers. Having said that, I agree with you that a more tolerant writer would have said "Thank You" and brushed it off. But the Macjive of a guy did not criticise Flow's work, what he did was to tear down the writer and his style of writing, rather than critique his work.
A piece of art/writing is like a product from the manufacturers factory, there is a target audience in mind before the writer ever set out to start writing. Flow wrote his work for people who appreciates the Nigerian Pidgeon English, which some people refer to as Waffi Language. If you cannot understand his style of writing or his language you would have simply unfollowed his work/thread, rather than tear down the man.
I will also state that, Flow shouldn't have mentioned Ishilove in his reply. But, I disagree with some of Ishilove's reply. Even though Soyinka, Adichie, et al still give out there work for criticism before publishing (as it is standard in the literary world) Macjive did not CRITIQUE Flow's work. What macjive did was to attack the person of Flow and that to me is not criticism.
Please enough of this back and forth arguement, I will end with Achebe's words "IF YOU DON'T LIKE A MAN's STORY, WRITE YOUR OWN".
