yeah because the virus is self limiting and will be cleared in two weeks except for some underlining ailments it could take more than two weeks, also have it at the back of your mind that the virus is still under study and as such could stay more than two weeks like the case of atiku's son and el-rufai

1.Ideally, till we have had no new cases for several days (New Zealand just achieved that milestone today, so they would be lifting their lockdown....gradually. )

2.We could lift the lockdown now, but the problem is, a lot of people will die....and knowing Nigerians, they won't tolerate the deaths of lots of people.
Plus, covid19 overrunning our hospitals means that beds would be filled with patients, meaning that people who have preventable diseases could die because no access to care (During the last ebola outbreak, Liberia lost a lot of people to diseases like Malaria and diarrhea because all beds were taken up by ebola patients)

If they extend the lockdown it would be harsh on the economy and hunger would increase, and people would die. Lift the lockdown, and hundreds of thousands of people will die. Either way, it doesn't look good.
the only problem is people of the affected states are not properly catered for, if the government could do their mapping and get to people of the states with palliatives, the lockdown can be extended till the Virus chain/circle is broken

Buhari lifts curfew or not, Lagos State Gov already lifts curfew for 2weeks
And if the federal extends by 2 weeks then the curfew lifted by Lagos remains invalid. It is one of the states in fact the epicentre of covid-19 in Nigeria so it is of utmost interest to the federal government.

Instead of FG to be looking inward, they are expecting China and other foreign govt to help them.

I once mentioned here that government should place testing centers in all local govt and one imp here was insulting me telling me its not possible. I wish that person would see this thread
Apologies on behalf of the imp, same thing I was telling someone too every local government should also have an isolation centre, with the case of calling ncdc without responses, it will be much easier to evacuate these persons to the closest isolation centres for immediate treatment.

The Coronaviruspreneurs have not realized they could loot by inviting Cubans doctors. Cuba has an excess supplies of doctors that on the average they are paid less than $200 monthly in Cuba.
All they need to do is invite them rate $1000 daily and pay them their salary through their government.
Note this, they will soon invite them in Nigeria if they understand this.

I thought those Chinese doctors will come and perform wonders in Nigeria but it seems revise is the case.
as at yesterday, there are no corona virus patient in Wuhan China again, all have been discharged from the hospital and they are doing well, I am not making any case for the Chinese doctors, they need to have a swift meetings with the players in the health sectors and share their ideas on how they were able to achieve that feat in China. I won't be a party to the fact that they should start treating Nigerians, our doctors have been doing just fine before their arrival, so let see what the week holds for us from them, and please don't think they are not seeing these trashes that some people will say they have come to infect us the more, if na you, you go gree workhuh Make people no attribute the death of the country men due to the stubbornness of the country men to the expertise of the Chinese doctors.

you are on point bro and also found through my quote I mentioned "if" which is conditional, I am almost certain that those palliatives won't be available but then like you said let's hope for the best, this thing is getting scarier by the day.

That Buhari’s extension of Lagos lock down is certain
I doubt because of the positive vibes we are getting from sanwo olu, he has been advocating compulsory mask wearing, but if the president can extend in Lagos with adequate palliatives, security and more test kits then we will be better of but as it stands I still doubt if lockdown in Lagos will be extended.

Now you see we are just wasting some more money. Thanks bro
You are right bro,if not for the insincerity of our government, these lockdown we had would have been the best time to break the virus cycle /chain what they would have done is make kits available, provide palliatives, send trained health workers to each of the local government areas for mass testing, encourage people to come out enmasse for testing with some Tantalizers, like get tested get palliatives. Nigeria my country..... Hmmmmm

They have laid aside the ones that they and their families will use, plus the ones they will sell. If you recall, someone was offering test kits for sale on one of the threads yesterday.
Those test kits being put up for sale here won't work, they are called the rapid test kits akin to the pregnancy test, malaria test, hepatitis test kits, and if used will always give either a false positive or false negative results, the best method is the PCR and as such gives them the direction to know the line of treatment. The government should please at this point in time forget about looting and order as much test kits as possible so Nigerians can be massively tested.

You guessed right. But what I don't understand and one is yet to tell us something about it is that of those ones discharged, those it mean they are now immune to the virus, they can't ever catch it again cuz if they still have to protect themselves after being discharged, then we are going no where. We are just wasting money and resources. Please can you tell me what you know or guess something? Thanks
Those ones that recovered are not immune to the virus, they get reinfected if they are exposed again that is if they come in contact with an infected person or with the virus without doing the necessary things to prevent the virus from getting into them, then they become a new case, as at the time being there is no research result that has told us that those treated are immune to the virus. So it is.more like a cycle or a chain.

How many of you noticed that ever since the Chines medical experts got here our cases begins to increase drastically

Just saying undecided undecided undecided
you are right but let's leave the Chinese doctors now, the fact is how many persons are ready to be tested even though we have no enough test kits, even, some infected persons are asymptomatic and they spread this virus without them knowing they have it, government should be fast in procuring as many test kits as possible and the people should not wait to be compelled to come for the test but to willingly surrender themselves for it. That we can be sure of curtailing this virus, even the recovered patients can be reinfected so all are at risk

The number of discharged ones is slowing down I hope this isn't deliberate and attempt to loot some money by telling us people are not getting better and that they need some more money to treat them huh huh huh
I guess the lack of test kit they keep complaining is the issue, after series of treatment, the patients will be tested and retested to be sure he or she beat the virus twice within a space of one week of testing negative.

Since sanitizer (water+alcohol) disinfect/kills Convid-19,
Why can't alcohol kill the virus when is in the body system, I learnt it stays in the lungs, but alcohol pass through the oesophagus to the body system which mixed with blood and transport through the capillaries to the lungs, ideally can't alcohol kill the virus in the body system, since it kills the virus when it's on a surface or on our hands.. even after mixing some percentage with water, not to talk of taking it raw..
Rate this!
But make sure you do have any proof or fact why it won't work ? No guessing.
Ncdc is wise because if they dare follow this logic everyone will turn to a drunk grin grin : grin shocked kiss na joke o

Did NCDC put a call through to these people before coming to evacuate themhuh? The way they visited the site of evacuation has given room for obvious stigmatization of the covid-19 patients even when they recovered, firstly the call will be for them to know if the covid-19 patients can make it to their isolation facilities on their own with a time frame and if they have the means like a personal car or something and if not they will come and pick the person up after the time frame has been exhausted, what transpired between the both parties definitely may lead to another bout of infestation, I understand some people might want to be funny like to run away after receiving the call or want to infect people the more but the norm.should be a call should be put through to tell them hey you are infected with the virus and you can survive it if you start the treatment asap.

No be even that have you noticed that most of these security men don't even use nose mask when they flag you down to ask for your permit and funny enough they will lean very close to your car with their face so close to yours, funny enough he would have been one of these guys doing road blocks and asking for police permit before you drive off, he could have sneezed on his palms and rub them together, then go and use the ATM, and another non infected person will come and use the same ATM and then become infected, this is why we are having very large community infestation. God help us.

We are both aware, maybe somewhere in our inner mind, that Nigeria Nigeria's public health atmosphere would have been painted red by now. The US recorded over 2,000 deaths in 24 Hours three days ago. What would you say about that? They have the amenities. The truth is, as little as this "stay at home" may appear to you, it is really helping the essential workers to manage the spread of this virus.

I really understand the frustration that hunger could cause, and I blamed our government for attributing less value to its citizens.
nice quote you got up there, see the major problem here is hunger, if government could address the issue of hunger with proper security, people will be willing to stay for extra weeks, for Christ sake our mentalities differ, there are people that can stay with hunger and be on lockdown because they know the gravity of what is on ground and there are people who care less, let the government address this and we will reach a level playing ground that will suite all. From the way things are going, it seems like our last hope is vaccine. Aside that, we will keep going in circle. A country might fully contain the virus, then it will take just one person to bring in the virus into the country again... And the circle continues.
you are right, but vaccines are for preventive measures in your body to quickly develop antibodies immediately the body system senses the virus, vaccines will not work for the infected, that is y I always advocate go for testing the earlier the better. Please don't consider what anyone will say about you. Covid-19 is not a death sentence, if you catch am no be you bring am come Nigeria, it is a global pandemic, please let us all go and be tested.
