Politics › Re: "Soldier Poured Acid On Saro-Wiwa After Killing Him" - Eyewitness by Eastlink(m):
APCHaram:
IKENNA NWEKE & PAUL ACHALLA
KARMA IS FAIR AND JUST!!
COPIED
The biggest crime committed against the Ogoni people was the killing of Ken Saro Wiwa and his eight colleagues. Their crime was that they mobilized their people against the exploitation of their land. The tribunal was headed by Justice Ibrahim Auta. Other members of the tribunal were Justice Etowa Eyo Arikpo, Lt Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali (the incumbent Comptroller General of Customs), while the government prosecutor was Mr Joseph Bodurin Daudu SAN.
The Provisional Ruling Council (PRC), the highest decision-making body of the Abacha regime that took the decision to kill Saro Wiwa comprised General Abacha, Maj. General Patrick Aziza (Minister of Communications under Abacha); Major Gen. Tajudeen Olarenwaju (GOC); General Abdulsalami Abubakar (Chief of Defence Staff); Lt. General Oladipo Diya (Chief of General Staff); Maj. Gen. Victor Malu (GOC); Ibrahim Coomasie (Inspector General of Police); Mike Akhigbe (Chief of Naval Staff); Maj. General Ishaya Bamaiyi (Chief of Army Staff); Nsikak Eduok (Chief of Air Staff), and Lt. Gen. Jeremiah Useni (Minister of the Federal Capital Territory). There was no Igbo man.
It was Chief Emeka Anyaoku, an Igbo man, who as the secretary-general of the commonwealth of nations, that led a protest that made the Commonwealth of Nations to rise to the occasion, and warned Abacha not to carry out his wicked act. Although he later did, the Commonwealth under Anyaoku sanctioned Nigeria.
Today, ask an Ogoni man to show you his enemy, he will point at an Igbo man.
May the spirit of Saro Wiwa, and his eight colleagues hunt you for your foolishness.. An eye opener..

Kenule Saro Wiwa was the champion of that foolishness. A man educated at the famous Government College Umuahia ( Fishers) and University of Nigeria,vNsukka. He led the federal forces against the Biafrans and for his betrayal was made Administrator of South east state. He asked that Igbo properties be declared abandoned properties and be forfeited to them. He personally took over Ojukwu father's property in Port Harcourt which he occupied at a time with a certain Lt. Sani Abacha his friend and killer. To rub in the humiliation of Igbos whom he hated so much, he wrote " Toad for Supper" which was a mockery of how they made Igbos suffer so much during the war that they fed on toads and lizards. He encouraged the Ikkwerres to deny their Igboness and assisted Elechi Amadi to invent the corruption of Igbo names by adding "r" and "y" to form jargons like Rumuokoro and Oyibo instead of Umuokoro and Obigbo. This they said is Ikkwerre a distinct language and tribe.
It is important to note that Ken Sarowiwa was not killed by his co travelers for agitating for environmental rights. Environmental rights was one of his pastimes which he used to extort money and exert influence on government and oil companies. He was killed for the murder of five Ogoni chiefs( Chief Fugbara, Kogbara Kobani et al) . These were men who were opposed to his immoral and outlandish lifestyle and actually wanted a more responsible engagement with government and oil companies. He labelled them vultures.
Masterminded and led a mob attack on these men and killed the five of them in a single day. It was a murder trial and environmental issues was not on the charge sheet. He was found guilty, convicted and hanged. His friend and collaborator in arms, now Gen Sani Abacha was the Head of state. It was not in vain that Ojukwu, (may his soul find peace), made effort to see him at Port Harcourt prison before his execution. Of course all effort to save him by the emasculated Igbos had failed. Emeka Anyaoku did his best. God bless him. Ojukwu visited him and greeted him " Good morning" in broad day light. The Igbo spirit is a forgiving one, the day the Yoruba, Efik, Ibibio, Rivers, Ijaw people will come to terms with the Igbo, that will be when Nigeria will have everlasting peace
This is why I laugh at IPOB foolery and Nnamdi Kanu trying to lump us with some of these tribes.
The Igbo nation must never allow charlatan and self righteous crooks drive us to our end. It's either you stay in Nigeria and fight only for the interest of the Igbo nation or forget about Biafra. Any Biafra idea is bound to fail except the country called Nigeria desolves on his own.
For the Ogoni's I know them very well,I have lived with them and can tell you how they blame Ndigbo for their misfortune, forgetting how they dinned with the Hausa/Fulani's. Come to P/H and you will see how General Gowon is idolized. Go to Bayelsa and General Abacha is a hero over there. And I ask were these the only states created by the military? I hardly see other states be this foolish, not even the northern States like Kogi and Benue only my Rivers state still has a Yakubu Gowon stadium (formely Liberation stadium) a reminder of the oil politics of the civil war, which transfered leadership from the East to the demonic North.
Igbo nation needs a new group to unite all Igbo tribes including us in the SS by finding a common ground to forge Igbo interest. IPOB are a disaster and are too myopic to carryout this task. Biafra of Kanu is doomed to fail and no true Igbo sons or daughters should join him in such mission. Allow IPOB die a natural death and support any group out to fight for our people in this country.
During the last national conference, I was so proud of my people in the SE. I could remember them suggesting at least 2 states in the SS such as Orashi state for us in Rivers and Anioma for those in Delta. I never believed that the Igbo representative could put us in their plans too. This is a pointer that our elders despite their defects know the politics in this country. No one should join any foolish group in harrasing them. If you must criticise them then let it be constructive and not joining any idiot beat them up. Other parts of the country are not doing better than the SE yet their own people keep mute to leadership failure in their zones. Was Sowore not from the SW, didn't they team up against him? Who the hell is Kanu to think he can get the sympathy of other Nigerians towards his cause. Has he even done half of what the likes of Ekweremadu has achieved in Igboland? Yet the albino is championing beating of our leaders. Thunder locate him there in UK.
However, for the Ogoni's they should keep blaming us for their treachery. No one should excuse the Ogoni 9 from what they did. Ken Saro Wiwa had a hand in the disgraceful death of the Ogoni Chiefs and was found guilty by the military tribunal. What stop Ken from carrying his protest to Abuja to meet Abacha and Shell. Why kill his own leaders in such despicable manner. Saro Wiwa was a despicable human with the manner those Chief's were killed and he paid dearly for it.
Yoruba's shouldn't come here to form self righteousness because the soldiers who carried out the militarization of Ogoni land cuts across all tribes. Even championed by Abacha and Diya.

Celebrities › Re: Jidenna: Homosexuality Is An Africa Thing, Europeans Didn’t Bring It by Eastlink(m):
Obi1kenobi:
Yes, 2 consenting grown men. The fact that they are grown men is why their sexual preferences shouldn't be your business. I'm not their father or their god. Even if I were their father, they stop being my responsibility as adult men who make their own decisions.
Two consenting grown men used to be the argument in the past, but not anymore. Countries where pro-gay laws and same sex marriages were passed have had a significant rise in homosexuals. This is not suprising anymore. Homosexuality which should be a thing of privacy is now taken into public spheres in countries where it is legalized, in schools, in malls, in the social media, in churches, in weddings, in pubs and in every socio-political discuss in these countries.
Children, teenagers and even vulnerable straight people with identity crisis are now being cajoled into coming out as gays. There is now a major increase in shemales and ftm transgender in the western world. Imagine a flimsy argument of surgical sex change of little kids as old as 5 years, simply because they exhibit unusual sexual behavior. How can a little child be rational enough to know if becoming a transgender is best for him or her at such age. If it's not madness, what else will you call this?
The rise of gays is now a problem the Europeans and more importantly the Americans are grappling with ever since the Obama lobbied Supreme court ruling. In high places and in low places, most gays use every opportunity they find to convert vulnerable people into homosexuality. It's one thing to be gay and indulge in private sexual relationship with your types and it's another thing to be gay while still be a molester, who go about molesting vulnerable people and expanding the homosexual chain.
I'm of the view that, the homosexual community are like kleptomaniacs, give them one opportunity and they come calling for more rights. Give them equality and they ask for gay marriages. Give them civil union and they request for adoption. Give then right to own kids and they request for stiff penalty to be handed out to anti gay opponents.. Prosecute opponents of homosexuality and then everyone is made to be silent and watch the world gradually wipe off the last vistage of heterosexualism. The militant attitude of the LGBTQ community in the west is steadily bringing about a radical far right groups even among former gay right sympathizers.
I won't be surprised if these western countries and their intercontinental allies begin to deconstituitionalize their pro gay laws for conservative laws in the long run.
Nigeria and Africans should never allow gays such unimaginable liberties. Criminalizing gays won't solve the homosexual issues or diminish their sexual orientation or anything, but rather not acceding to their humongous liberties, just like it was the norm before is the best solution in nipping their unnatural behaviours in the bud.
Sexuality is an option, the same way criminality is an option.

Hear yourself.
So North and Igbos have been collaborating all these while even when a Southerner like Awo was on the ballot paper abi.
Why are you now pained that Yorubas are collaborating with same North? Why are you seeing such as betrayal now?
Something must be wrong with you people.
Nobody is pained. Only that your paternership with the north is like a master slavery relationship.
When an Ekwueme was Vice President in a solely northern NPN dominated party the south wasn't bullied. The sharing of positions was even and the south had more say in government than the north.
The same applied with a neutral Obasanjo heavily backed by the SE/SS/MB. Nobody was schemed out of things.
Even when GEJ was VP to Yar'adua it was as if the south were the ones ruling. Nobody felt inferior or pushed over, not the Niger-Delta, the SW, the SE, the MB and even the north. Equality thrived!
But the for the first that you managed to use your platform to decide the political fate of the country, you showed how hate filled your government is.
Fulani herdsmen and Ruga were empowered by your platform. Federal character became northern character during your platform. The south as far as key positions were concerned were gifted mainly to the SW. Allocating southern slots to your tribesmen was the norm as well as helping to support northern domination and Islamization.
For the first time in the history of this country a certain section of the country were totally marginalized from political and military positions and you jubilated in support if it.
If this is the trait of the kind of undiluted Yoruba Presidency you've been fighting for since the time of Awolowo, then I'm afraid it won't work. Obasanjo Presidency which deviated from the hate filled bolekaja politics you're known to play and of whom you hated him for, may end up being your first and last.
Unless you backtrack from the political Golgotha you're heading to.

My brother leave nairaland lies of the north like igbos
Do u realize there are some places in the north where pdp didn't use Peter obi picture ?simply because an average northerner sees an igbo man as another nnamdi kanu n they will prefer to vote a non Nigerian than igbo
Do u realize many northerners were even tired of buhari reign n they looked up to atiku but the moment he picked an igbo man as VP majority of them decided not to vote again. Bro b4 u argue blindly, call someone in the north to confirm cos majority in nairaland has lost touch with reality. N with the way igbos keep showing that they hate buhari, do u think any northerner will b proud to associate openly with an igbo man during elections? I pray pdp fields an igbo man as president then u will see landslide victory for the opposing party
Buhari is not the north. Buhari the god of CPC was demystified in the last election where it took dying minutes rigging to allot him victory. Buhari the political messiah of the Yoruba's is retiring from politics after 2023 and you people should be getting ready to life after him.
After his tenure, he goes home and retires in peace never to be heard again. Igbo's have become political nobody's while the Yoruba's have become the political mavericks of the south all thanks to Buhari.
But it was this same Buhari that couldn't stand toe to toe with names such as Shehu Shagari, Aminu Kano, Shehu Yar'adua not to talk of Umaru Yar'dua in the same north. Where was this Buhari before 2015 when these names had the north in their pouch politically. Maybe he was still rallying the Miyetti Allah. The same Umaru Yar'dua took Buhari to the cleaners in 2007.
Because he defeated a weak GEJ with the joint help of all northerners irrespective of party doesn't elevate him to a godlike status. Because he exalted himself in 2015 after his serial failure doesn't makes his the last President that will emerge from the north.
I wish the SW best of luck after the retirement of Buhari come 2023.

I can autoritativly tell you that the northern elites have no qualms with the Igbo's. Only the Yoruba's propagate such nonsense. Didn't Atiku pick his VP from the east despite your shenanigans?
Your politics of hate only began bearing fruit in 2015. Where were you lightweights when the north and east were collaborating. Allow the progressives who have been in the terrain do their thing. Your lucky charm expires 2023, unless you change your ways and strengthen the south. Failure to do that sends you back to perpetual opposition of which Buhari won't come back to rescue

And who told you that the SW care about Fulani domination. Why should the Igbo's care too. Power is returning back to the north in 2023 if the SW fail to put their mischief behind and work with the SE for the greater good of the south.
This is politics and the same Fulani's have the upper hand. Only when the SE/SW work together that the Fulani's will become relegated politically. But that is still goose chase.

[s]Shut up ,you are talking nonsense with no proofs.
All Igbos in Bonny are strangers.
Jaja was a slave(stranger)
Bonny was founded by three Ijaw brothers from Ebeni.
Asimini was not an Igbo .He was a brother to opuamakuba and Alagbariye. The three brothers were from Ebeni in Ijaw land.
Wikipedia
Bonny Island or Grand Bonny Island was founded by Priest and Premier King (Monarch) Alagbariye (also known and referred to as “Kala-beni”, Alagbariya, Alaigbariya, Alagbaria, Alagbarie, Alagbariagha and Alagbarigha). Alagbariye (known in Bonny tradition as "Amakoromabo", meaning "founder", and his brothers, Opuamakuba and Asimini were the leaders of the founding group of Bonny Island Kingdom (otherwise known as Grand Bonny Kingdom).
The virgin lands and territories of the Island Kingdom was founded about or before 1,000AD.
The founding group of the Island Kingdom from the Ebeni-toru area, precisely from Isedani Lineage of Kolokuma, in the present-day Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area of Bayelsa State (in Ancestral Ijawland in the Central Niger Delta), was led by three direct blood descendants of Ebeni.
These are Opuamakuba, Alagbariye and Asimini. From these leaders and the entire founding generation of the Kingdom evolved the lineage/ward/house system of governance, as a result of which the welfarist institution of traditional rulership of the Kingdom came into place,
with the exalted position of “Amanyanabo”, Monarch/King, meaning “owner of the land”; and the position of “Amadapu”, meaning component/subordinate traditional rulers of the Kingdom.

Wikipedia source :
The Kalabari are a sub-group of the Ijaw people living in the eastern Niger Delta region of Nigeria.[1] Originally, they were known as the Awome.
The name Kalabari was derived from their ancestor Perebo Kalabari who was a son of Mein Owei.
The Kalabari people are Ijaw speaking settlers who came from the Bini fringes of Ijaw land from the lineage of a man called Mein Owei. The people were originally fishermen before the coming of the Portuguese to the West African coastline.
The Kalabari, like most Nigerian coastline tribes, were wealthy as a result of their interactions with the Europeans.

Wikipedia source :
Okrika
Formerly a small fishing village of the Ijo (Ijaw) people in the mangrove swamps of the eastern Niger River delta, Okrika became the capital of the Okrika kingdom in the early 17th century and actively dealt in slaves. It served as a port for the exportation of palm oil after the abolition of the slave trade in the 1830s, but it was a less significant port facility than either Bonny (18 miles [46 km] south) or Opobo (32 miles [81 km] east-southeast).
All Igbos in Ijaw lands are strangers.
**Ijaws are not igbos**[/s]
Asari Dokubo, the Amachree family and Ateke Tom thinks otherwise. The Bonny and Opobo people think otherwise too. We have no problems with the Ibani's. They speak our language, and attend our cultural gatherings when invited.
The Ibani and Opobo people are Ijaws in ethnicity and we've no qualms with that.
Focus on your Eko with Bini links. The Oba of Lagos has in the umpteenth time reminded you that they aren't Yoruba's. That should be your major concern.

Do you know their origin, sorry, migration pattern better than them?. You are not even from Olukumi but you are trying to speak for them with authority.
The Odiani clan are not Yoruba's put that into your thick skull. They never were Yoruba's, had no cultural links with you people and despise that Yoruba label. They have nothing in common with you lots, nothing whatsoever that you're obsessed with. You can't even dare go to the Odiani clan to tell them the nonsense you're spilling here or else you lose your life. Stop getting obsessed with this people. Don't prove yourself to be an historical maggot.
Jaja was a slave .
Don't you know that ?
Before Igbo man Jaja (turned ibani) was Bonny not existing.
Your source even says that opobo and Bonny are of the same origin and the founders of Bonny are three Ijaw brothers.
Jaja was an hardworking slave hence he was able to achieve alot in Opobo.
If at all "it is only the lineage of Jaja that would be banished to go back to were he came from before he became a slave in Bonny". Bonny land is not an Igbo territory.

This your propaganda won't work.
Don't mislead the world, ijaws are not Igbos.
Slave Jaja formed" kingdom of opobo"with another Ijaw man and in an Ijaw territory how can you claim such territory.
The name " kingdom of opobo"is even named after an Ijaw man called **Amayanabo opubo **
Get lost.
Ijaws are not Igbos.
Only some Igbo families in Bonny were slaves. They had imported slaves like Jaja and Oko Jumbo but majority of Ubani Igbo families had direct links from the early five Bonny founders and kings. Apart from Opobo, the nearest Kinsmen of the Bonny people are Ndoki's. The Igbo dialect spoken in Bonny as well as the Nwaotam festival came from Azogu in Ndoki. This is why most Ijaws nationalists are trying so hard to claim Ndoki as Ijawland inorder to wipe off every Igbo heritage trace.
Slave tradding in the east was the business of the Aro's who imported Igbo and non-Igbo hinterland slaves to coastly areas like Bonny, Kalabari, Nembe and Calabar to be sold to the whites. The Aros were the slave raiders and middlemen in the slavery chain.
Before the coming of the Aros there were already migration of Igbo people to the coastal areas of the Niger Delta. While they had notable Igbo merchants who settled in these areas such as the Amachree kingship family of Kalabari, the Eshie people of Calabar (The Eshie makes up a clan of the Efik people are multilingual speaking Igbo and Efik till this day), there also had early migrants to Bonny and Nembe before even the coming of the Portuguese. Also in places like Okrika, they had Igbo founding families who makes up the Okrika uplanders. For instance, King Ateke Tom from the Okochiri clan as well as Patience Jonathan have Igbo heritage.
In the case of Ubani (Bonny), they had Igbo founders as well as Ijaw founders. Igbo names like Okpara Ndoli and Asimini led their Ndoki people from Azuogu and sojourned with two other Ijaws such as Alagbarinye and Opuamakuba also with their own group to established what is known as Bonny today.

Your statement goes thus:
'What a useless statement by Obiano'
'No city can... '
'Those foolish ones arguing'

Now, read your first comment and see why I responded in the manner I did.

You immediately made it seem like someone making an effort to catch up with Lagos is Daft. An effort oo.
How can you say that?
Would you rather prefer him to stay in his office, drink coffee and assume that Anambra cannot catch up.

Is his job not to try?
Let's be honest with ourselves. Ethnic Bigotry is the Bane here. And you allowed it to get hold of you as you typed that first comment.
Goodmorning
Suit yourself. The ethnic bigot here is you. Because you are blinded by ethnic patriotism and cannot see the reality on ground.
Until you take that cobweb off your eyes only then would you accept the truth. Anambra can only grow at it's own pace, but competing with Lagos, Mba. Even if 100 Dangote and Innoson relocate to Anambra it will keep playing second fiddle with Lagos unless drastic infrastructural changes is carried out there by the Federal government.

[s]Maybe they can finally go home to sell gala and fan yogo instead of deveroping Lagos.

Sanwo-olu should commence the deportation of these “industrious” biafrans who have performed miracles even in far-away Amelika (according to FBI). grin We don’t deserve you people.

Thank you.[/s]
Trash. The same way Fashola first deported your Uncles to Molete park Ibadan before turning on the 3rd batch sent to head bridge Onitsha.

Im.tired of commenting on NL but you guys are bringing up stuffs that makes no sense.
In academics stats, Ogun cannot compare to Anambra. Check unity schools' & POST UME cut off marks for both states even when Ogun is more populated than Anambra oooo!
Check WASSCE, or academic exploits outside the shores of Nigeria.
See, Ogun has universities who can't buy lands in Lagos with no direct impact on Ogun but for IGR.
On infrastructure, Ogun is better?
Bros name one good state road in Ogun state apart from the Sagamu-Abeokuta way and Abeokuta centrals.
Oga Ogun state is about the worst states in Nigeria when you talk about roads.
Just drive through all the boundaries (Akute, Lambe, Ayobo, Agbara, tube, Ijofin, Ibafo, Ogijo, etc.) of Ogun state and Lagos and you'll understand.
Ogun state is lacking in serious infrastructures.
Imagine the huge IGRs yet with heavy debts and the state is owing civil servants.
Leave Ogun state ooooo!
The governors have not really done well.
Honestly, Lagos is class and this is why every state should emulate Lagos except for the political dominance there.
Ogun state dwarfs Anambra, let alone my own Port Harcourt in industries, stop crying and accept reality. This is the bitter truth! Accept it or find a rope.

Ogun states has far more infrastructures than Anambra.
Apart from exotic buildings, industries, schools etc in Ogun state, these are still some infrastructures in Ogun state that Anambra does not have.
Ogun is maximising her proximity from Lagos. The industries in Ogun state found themselves there due to many factors that tribalists like you can never fathom. As well as the dunce from Anambra arguing their foolishness with you.

Please, can you tell us the daft comment Obiano made?

That he aspires to work harder and make Anambra overtake Lagos?

Isn't that healthy competition?

Isn't that what he is supposed to do?

Is he suppose to just sit in his office and be comfortable with Anambra's current level?

Is aspiring to be like Lagos or even overtake it a daft idea?

Honestly, you seem to be the daft one here. Sorry to say that. Some of you are just unnecessarily hyped up and threatened.

Obiano has a dream and a plan. Let him execute it.
Stop being angry that he aspires something great for his state.
Most of you just follow political statements without understanding the issue on ground. Stop allowing Obiano rub your emotions. Anambra can only grow at it's own pace but never at the expense of competing with Lagos. I repeat, no Nigerian city can compete with Lagos at our current economic dispensation. Cities in the western frontier such as Accra, Abidjan and Dakar despite having viable infrastructures on ground can never go toe to toe with Lagos, let alone an Anambra that is in the hinterland and deprived of a modern railway.
The infrastructural deficit others states have compared to Lagos will keep denying them those investments. Ogun state for instance is only enjoying the spillover industries from Lagos because of it's proximity.
Until infrastructures such as railway interconnecting eastern cities to major export point is constructed, the so called massive investment will be only be miminal. I'm not talking about seaport here. Only a technologically advance means of transportation can bring other states to her potential and not the idea of using trucks to conveyed key raw materials in and out, thereby still profiting the same Lagos where these raw materials have their exit and entrance.

A confirm eastern based Igbo dude was busted and it is expected that his cliques will be Igbo too.
If a Churchill is busted tomorrow or a Ola, the list will be filled with Yoruba names.
Same goes to the Aboki's far north helping the yahoo boys with accounts and forex. Ones they are busted, names like Sambo, Usman and Musa will fill up their own list.
Yahoo Yahoo has no tribe! The earlier some myopic dunce including that Ngene up there laughing her brains out understand that Yahoo is officially anti-tribal the better for them.
