PoliticsRe: FG Considers Ondo For Deep Seaport by Ebeano49(m): 11:52am On Jul 04, 2019
And being from Niger Delta makes you an expert on this subject?? Talk of being clueless! The Cross River deep sea port project will be majority private owned. So, if it actually sees the light of day, it will be prohibitively expensive to use compared to 100% government owned ports in Apapa and maybe this one in Ondo. It will therefore die a natural death! Educate yourself please! Oh, I AM FROM NIGER DELTA too but that's neither here nor there!!!

martineverest:
do u even realise that rivers and delta have at least 4 ports?....do u realise that akwa ibom and cross River states are building the biggest deep sea ports in nigeria?...mind u I'm from Niger delta

chuksmad:
You can ask that question to your brother GEJ when he was the president, yet could not do such to his region. Thats why I marveled the way SE especially praise this man to high heavens, yet no single development in both SE and SS. Even his state can have the seaport.
So do not blame this current regime if they are doing the right thing as they understand better. I rest my case.
So, by your warped logic, if an Ijaw man becomes president tomorrow, he should ignore the seaport Buhari is building in Ondo and build a new one in his own area, right? It is thinking like yours that has kept this country where it is. You are correct, GEJ worked on things he thought were more expedient for Nigeria and not just his village. He expended a lot of resources building almajiri schools in the North. He permitted Adesina to heavily invest in irrigation in the North. He built the Kaduna-Abuja railway. He modernised nigeria's airports. To mention a few.

Goods imported into Ondo will still be ferried by road to Aba, Onitsha, PH. It makes no sense, but then again, you are not engaged in this discourse to make sense.
So this is the first thing that came to your mind immediately you saw this topic?
.......but why are some people life filled with so much TRIBALISM this way.
Is this the way you live your life everyday?
DEEP TRIBALISM!
You deserve a 2nd chance to live o.
What a life!

These politicans have been so successful in using tribalism and religion war to mess up with y'all brain since 1960!
No, you are the one being tribalistic and supporting evil due to irrational hatred. Why Ondo? That's a sensible, patriotic question to ask. PH, Warri and Calabar have ports already which are deliberately neglected and dilapidated. It will be cheaper to develop these ones than build a new one in Ondo. Onitsha and Aba based businesses have the highest need for a seaport and PH, Warri or Calabar are much closer to them.
The question, why Ondo? is therefore legitimate but YOUR tribalism and hatred wont let you see the logic in it.

A country that masters car production techonology has conquered high tech because to make a car you require skills in electronics, mechanics, structural, glazing, rubber and plastic processing, etc,. Innoson is capable for employing hundreds of thousands of Nigerians if well supported.

PoliticsRe: Igbos Voted Atiku, Why Demand SFG From Buhari? - Northern Group Mocks Ohanaeze by Ebeano49(m): 2:23pm On Jun 17, 2019
Las las, Ala Igbo is still far more developed than the North and large portions of SW..

Which northern state capital comes close to Owerri, Enugu and Awka in developemt terms? We can hold our own in education, commerce, finance, etc. So, no, Ndi Igbo doesn't want your presidency or political appointment if it means prostrating before people we consider less able/capable than us!

All we want is for merit to prevail everywhere - from school admission to employment.
Finally, and most importantly, we want our destiny to be decided in Enugu by an Okechukwu and not in far away Abuja by an Abubakar with whom we share zero affinity or apiration. That's all!

I am not surprised that you want to argue.

It is laughable that you want me to agree to the falsehood that Igbos were at the helm of all the sectors in Nigeria at independence.

Which political party was the most dominant in Nigeria as at independence? Who was the most influential politician in Nigeria in the first republic? There were just three or four brigadiers in the entire Nigerian army between '60 and '64, were they all Igbos? Agriculture was the mainstay of Nigeria's economy, did Ndigbo lead in Agriculture too?

Please, be specific about how Igbos led in Medicine and Engineering. Were the first indigenous doctor and engineer in Nigeria Igbos? Are the sectors you pinpointed the only ones in Nigeria? What about the arts, construction, music, literature, law, politics etc?

Is not everything your dad or uncle tells you that you believe my brother. You should do some good research.
Please read Cambrige's Paul Anber's Modernisation and Political Disintegration: Nigeria and the Ibos published in 1967. He's not Igbo or Nigerian so presents, i hope you'd agree, an unbiased assessment of Nigeria's status quo pre war.

This extract summarises my point: “With unparalleled rapidity, the Ibos advanced fastest in the shortest period of time of all Nigeria’s ethnic groups. Like the Jews to which they have frequently been likened, they progressed despite being a minority in the country, filling the ranks of the nation’s educated, prosperous upper classes… It was not long before the educational and economic progress of the Ibos led to their becoming the major sources of administrators, technicians, and civil servants for the country, occupying senior positions out of proportion to their numbers.”

Have a great day, brother.

Oga, the Igbos couldn't have been above all the other ethnic groups in everything...perhaps in a few sectors but certainly not in every sector. I am not just Igbo, I am also a good student of history.

However you look at it, every ethnic group in Nigeria has evolved in the last 50 years, and a whole lot of these tribes, including those hitherto regarded as minorities, have proven their mettle in key sectors of the Nigerian economy.

Our country is awakening herself to the dynamism of nationhood, which rests more on the inclusiveness of negotiations, partnerships, common good and sustenance than on ethnicity and other biases that bear no real significance in our national project.
With due respect sir, you are a very poor student of history. At independence, Ndi Igbo were at the helm of EVERY facet of the Nigerian society. From education (we actually produced VCs and SU presidents of most Nigerian universities then) to commerce. From military to civil service. Engineering to medicine. Ndi Igbo were at the top. We occupied high echelons of civil service even in the core north. That's where the resentent started.

This comment of yours "Our country is awakening herself to the dynamism of nationhood, which rests more on the inclusiveness of negotiations, partnerships, common good and sustenance than on ethnicity and other biases that bear no real significance in our national project." is so detached from reality and manifestly false that I'm not going to dignify it by responding.

That's why no one wishes for a war...'cos atrocities happen on both sides.

As for oppressing the igbos, that's a figment of your imagination because igbo remains, unarguably, one of the most successful ethnic groups in country.
By 1967 Igbos were above the rest of Nigeria in every thing. Then the war happened and Ndi Igbo were criminally and systematically reduced to nothing and dispossessed of their livelihoods. But then, 48 short years later, Ndi Igbo are back again at the top. It says alot about our indomitable spirit.

CultureRe: People Build Better Houses In The Village: Why? by Ebeano49(m): 12:19pm On May 22, 2019
Demainman1:
Most Igbo villages are under developed and they look like forest if you ever watch Nollywood movies. I really hate that look when i see them on those movies being an igbo myself.

My people, please build in the villages so as to bring these places up to the 21st century standard. Our generation unborn will thank us for it. while at it, proper maintenance culture on those properties are needed so that houses built can last a very long time. Regular painting, nice landscapping readily comes to mind.

For any Local Government Chairman/State Governor reading this, please embark on proper village/town planning so as to give our villages a modern organisation rather than allow the people to put up structures in an unorganised manner.
You really think those 'igbo villages' you see in Nollywood films are really from Igbo land? Have you ever been to the east before?
Ndi my papa say we be Igbo! SMFH!!

PoliticsRe: Uche Okwukwu Backs Amaechi, Says Igbo Can’t Be President by Ebeano49(m): 10:09am On May 21, 2019
What zone has Nigeria presidency really helped? The North is still the poverty and illiteracy capital of Nigeria, despite years of producing Nigeria's leaders. What did the average Abeokuta person or Bayelsans gain from OBJ or GEJ's presidency respectively?
Similarly, Igbo presidency will only benefit the Igbo elite who are already in bed with their northern puppet masters.

For the majority of Ndi Igbo, what we ask for is a reformed, fair and just Nigeria or outright independence.
I want my future to be shaped in ENUGU by an Okechukwu, who shares my dreams and aspirations rather than in far away ABUJA by a barely educated, fundamentalist Abubakar whose interests and mine are not aligned.
PoliticsRe: Zone Deputy To S/E Or I’ll Contest For Senate President ― Kalu by Ebeano49(m): 4:28pm On Mar 27, 2019
Again Kalu is fighting for his stomach using the name of South East. Very typical of Nigerian hearltless thieves masquerading as politicians.

Do not be deceived! The vast majority of Ndi Igbo doesn't care who becomes what in the zoo.

Most of us want one of these two things:

1. A restructured Nigeria where our fate will be decided in Enugu (by an Okechukwu) and not in Abuja (by a Muhammad)

or

2. A proud independent Country called Biafra

Nothing more, nothing less!

THANK YOU

Quite frankly, other Nigerians should act like Igbo people and particularly IPOB.
Why should you sheepishly agree to pray for a peaceful election when we all know that it is a mere transition from one set of uncaring, insensitive thieves to another set?

Nigerians have been voting since 1999 but still their lives have got much worse while a handful of politicians live in immoral opulence.
Infact all Nigerians should boycott this election to show they are unhappy with the status quo and the viable alternative on the table.

Kanu could have bolted through an already prepared special exit. He knew what he was calling for long before it happened.

Remember we're talking of a man who entered Nigeria through illegal means - he didn't use any of his passports (British and Nigerian).

Lastly, he lost all rights he could lay claim to the moment he embarked on his war mongering and call to arm crusade.
Could have... Would have... Those are conjectures and innuendos or alternative reality, at best.
Let's face the things we know to be true. That he entered Nigeria without travel documents is neither here nor there. If 'war wongering' as you put it is against the laws of the land, then you should demand that the government put him through a trial and convict him. That's what will make Nigeria a civilised country and not the zoo Kanu calls it.

Benjamin Franklin said the first responsibility of every citizen is to constantly question authority.
Robert Novak also said always love your country – but never trust your government!

Wish you Godspeed as you reflect on these.

Your evidence please?
I am not saying he wasn't or was, but do you have a proof to your claim?
What evidence are you looking for? These are known facts:
1) He was INSIDE his residence when the army surrounded it
2) The army forcefully gained entrance
3) Nnamdi Kanu hasn't been seen since that date.

Given the above sequenece of incontrovertible events, the only reasonable conclusion is that only the army can account for his whereabout. Instead of sowing seeds of doubt, you should be alarmed that your governement extra judicially infringed on the rights of your fellow citizen, whether you agree with that citizen's believes or not.
