My friend has a presentation on the above topic. I would need contributions from my fellow nairalanders. I'm confident your comments and contributions would go a long way to help. Thank you.
Being single here refers to the category of people who have reached the age of getting married but are still single. Questions are raised why they are still single all the time, but what do they spend their time doing while being single is the question.
The above topic is broad in the sense that it might refer to your action towards being a single person, or it can also how you decide to cope with the pressure of being single.
Personally i would look at it thus: If i'm single, do i let my emotion get the better of me? in terms of decision making, especially when it has to do with emotions. Do i compromise just because i want to leave this state of single-hood?
Should i join church activities as a way of getting noticed? Should i change my way of dressing into that of S.U. so as to look responsible? Should i attend weddings often even if i'm not invited? Should i say yes to everyone who asks me out on a date?
Single but not stu-pid. I think means you accept where you find yourself even though you don't like it, but it won't affect your decision making. |

information1: Lagos—President of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote yesterday said plans have been concluded to construct a gas pipeline to address power supply challenges in Lagos State. He disclosed this during a courtesy visit to the office of the Lagos State governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode. He said; “We also assured him that we are going to do a Gas Pipeline from Bonny (River State) to pass under the sea (to Lagos.) When it is completed, Lagos state will never ever experience blackout. There will be electricity 24 hours a day.”
Addressing newsmen after the meeting with Ambode, Dangote said they also discussed the ongoing construction of the largest fertilizer plant of two to three million tonnes of Uranium and Amonia in the Lekki Free Trade Zone, Ibeju-Lekki.
He noted that the company is also building ”the largest ever single refinery of 650,000 barrels per day, which is by far more than the consumption of Nigeria and that would satisfy our consumption at least for the next seven to 10 years by the time we finish.”
All these projects Dangote said are no small projects.
‘’We will have challenge in getting people to work there, because at the height of it, there will be close to 38,000 people working at the same location, this is something that we have to partner with the state government.
‘’Having 38,000 people on one site, not every one of them will be from the community, others will be from other states, there would be cultural issues and all that, we need to integrate everybody to ensure that the whole thing works out fine.”
He stressed that the visit afforded him the opportunity to assure the governor of his commitment to complete these ongoing projects already embarked upon by the company. https://informationengine./2015/06/11/photo-dangote-to-supply-24-hour-power-to-lagos/ After all said and done................................ |

moneyallowed: Why not? It uses nanomachines so the technology is sound. Remember he didh't just jump to it, he's been making small improvements to his armour and adding designs based on his friends and foes. He got the Hulkbuster armour from observing the Hulk, Destroyer armour from Asgard, Adamantium and so on. When the Mandarin took over his suit he knew he had to find a way to make his suit a part of him and he got the clue from the Extremis virus. Right now the bleeding edge is inert cos he lost extremis, reading between the lines he became too powerful and the writers had to find a way to depower him, but the next step has already been taken-he is Iron Man now, down to his bones and no one can take it away from him even when he drops the title and gives the suit away In summary, he keeps evolving |

This suit is kept under his skin in his bones, controlled by his thoughts, made up of nanotech, can transform into any type of superstructure, is invulnerable and self-healing. He's beaten Red Hulk, Thor....Stark is no longer the man in the suit, he is the suit now, he's the literal Iron Man. pictures please. And when did stark start having his armored suit under his skin. |

rapmike: This is the most stupid question I have seen so far on Nairaland. Superheros can't just be judged only on strength and abilities, if what makes a superhero was based on that alone, then it will be very childish.
Mind you, the fact that Batman does not have super strength like Superman or Thor does not mean he is weak, I can say that Batman is very strong. He will likely defeat Hawkeye and Black widow on one to one combat, he should be able to beat Flash and Green Arrow too (only that Flash is ern too fast?) and will hold his own against Green Lantern and Hawkgirl. The real nerd among all the Superheros is Ironman, without the suit, he is very weak compared to the rest. I agree. Stark is an ordinary fellow without his suit. Can the same be said of peter parker? i dont think his suit makes him powerful. |

Tell your friend the truth. He is not new in the company hence he would know how to present the case. When he has played his part by telling the management, you'll be called to say your own side as well ad the others involved. Your friend's number of years and how efficient he is in terms of hardwork will not be neglected. As for you, I hope you have a good record since you joined the coy.
With a good panel in place to hear the case, the verdict would go thus: your friend will be acquitted because he wasn't aware of the whole scheme, since you would have confessed this. You and the rest on the other hand will be indicted for being a part, but you might get lucky if you can convince them you didn't know they were stolen goods. In anycase, those colleagues of yours would definitely bring you down with them. If you all end up getting sacked, be rest assured they will hunt you and make life miserable for you as you are the cause of their downfall.
Dude, you are really in a mess. Keep mute and your friend get the boot and live with it for the rest of your life. And who says your friend will not find out later about it.
Talk and get your friend free but face the risk of torment from your colleagues.
I say, tell the truth. God will not abandon you, not this time. |

onatisi: wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong. I think u need to leave nigeria to appreciate the fact that nigeria is the easiest easiest easiest place to make money if you are skilled . Tell me ,what do u want to create or produce in uk or the developed countries which isn't there already ?? But in nigeria ,the oppotunities are limitless. You guys don't know the oppotunities you are throwing away in nigeria. Believe me ,in 2years time you will remember what I am telling u now, only by that time it maybe too late. Just get trained and skilled in a vocational trade, add ur education and exposure to it and be creative about marketing urself and u are on top in nigeria. From nigeria ,you can catapault urself abroad, but if u think importing and selling is the best,by the time the shock hits u,u will have nothing to fall back on. I keep telling ppl , know the nitty gritty about the products u are selling,if you are selling phones ,get the technical know how about how to assemble and repair ,if it is fashion ,then get trained on how to repair and sew or even design. That is why the chinese and indians are on top, what they send to u in nigeria ,they know about it inside out . Very true. You couldn't have put it better. I would like to get acquainted so i can share some personal stuff if you dont mind. |

onatisi: u just shot urself in the foot. Kindly look at all the examples u mentioned and see if they aren't products created by ppl with technical skills? Why don't u give me an example of a trading company among ur examples? I am telling u that the only way to survive in todays world is to be productive and todays world productivity isn't about moving around trying to convince ppl to buy things u are selling produced by someone else. U left out the part where I said u should get trained and skilled in technical and vocational skills. If u are good in doing things ppl will pay for ur services but buying and selling isn't a marketable skill in todays world. For a country like nigeria where creative art is not appreciated. Tell me where such a person with such skill would be appreciated? In UK i bet. |
Career › Re: It's Time To Resign! by Eberex(m): 7:33am On Jun 04, 2015 |
onatisi: let me tell u the undilluted truth. In the nigeria economy and even world economy remove your mind from buying and selling. That is not business or entrepreneurship, in todays world you have to be skilled in a vocational skill and versatile in many fields. If you are thinking of buying and selling,it is like putting a hangman rope on ur neck. The only way to survive in todays world is to be able to use ur hands to create something or repair . If u can do that then u are good to go. |

Education › Hardly Any Good News From Imo State University (IMSU) by Eberex(op): 7:52am On Jun 02, 2015 |
Just yesterday i read Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State Monday relieved the former Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Prof. Ukachukwu Awuzie of his appointment as the Vice Chancellor of the Imo State University (IMSU). Meanwhile i thought that was the only news i was going to read from Imsu. I was wrong.
Just yesterday night after making a call to a friend at about 8pm, promising to call back. At exactly 10pm a call came in from an unknown number. When i picked it was my friend, asking me to call back. Instead of calling the number i tried her number instead. But no one was picking, even after three attempts. I had to call the unknown number, she picked up and said ''we have just been robbed by two students''.
How did it happen? i asked. Well apparently she went downstairs to get bread accompanied by a neighbor (male). On coming back she met two huge guys in the room with her sister and cousin. They asked her and the friend to come in. They refused. Only when they brought out weapons and they had to oblige. They were asked to lie down. Search was made on each one of them and phones, money and all gadgets were taken away by these students.
I could hear the shock from her voice while narrating her experience. This happened in IMSU. I don't have the name of their lodge but i do hope the School authority would do something about this.
So much wickedness in this world. Robbing fellow students is just too bad ! I have already asked God, since He listens to my prayer without hesitation, to pour His wrath on these student thieves and make them not see peace until they change their ways. |

Nairaland General › Re: The Parable Of The 8 Monkeys by Eberex(m): 7:12am On Jun 01, 2015 |
ddaammyy: The parable of 8 Monkeys
(This is reportedly based on an actual experiment conducted in the U.K.)
Put eight monkeys in a room. In the middle of the room is a ladder, leading to a bunch of bananas hanging from a hook on the ceiling.
Each time a monkey tries to climb the ladder, all the monkeys are sprayed with ice water, which makes them miserable. Soon enough, whenever a monkey attempts to climb the ladder, all of the other monkeys, not wanting to be sprayed, set upon him and beat him up. Soon, none of the eight monkeys ever attempts to climb the ladder.
One of the original monkeys is then removed, and a new monkey is put in the room. Seeing the bananas and the ladder, he wonders why none of the other monkeys are doing the obvious. But undaunted, he immediately begins to climb the ladder.
All the other monkeys fall upon him and beat him silly. He has no idea why.
However, he no longer attempts to climb the ladder.
A second original monkey is removed and replaced. The newcomer again attempts to climb the ladder, but all the other monkeys hammer the crap out of him.
This includes the previous new monkey, who, grateful that he’s not on the receiving end this time, participates in the beating because all the other monkeys are doing it. However, he has no idea why he’s attacking the new monkey.
One by one, all the original monkeys are replaced. Eight new monkeys are now in the room. None of them have ever been sprayed by ice water. None of them attempt to climb the ladder. All of them will enthusiastically beat up any new monkey who tries, without having any idea why.
And that is how traditions, religions and systems get established and followed.
Think twice before following a tradition, religion or system blindly .. it wud make more sense if u get ur own understanding of it...... Good analogy. Food for thought too |
