I've analysed lots of responses and there was one issue that came out i'd like us to dissect. What if your wife/gf had always been such that is quick with the hands and cos you're a gentle man,you always let her get away with it and one day you realize she's beaten your mother up for reasons not good enough? What would be your reaction? For the women who feel men shouldn't hit women for any reason,what would you advice the men to do in such scenario?

When she cooks, do not eat her food. Those days women will be greatly touched and really hurt when their husband doesn't eat their food but women of these days like Mrs Chima , they no send you. Even if you don't eat their food for two weeks, they don't bother as long as you are dropping cash so when you meet a woman like that, stop dropping cash in the house but never raise your hands on them.

This is a rather controversial issue.Some men feel there's an extent to which a woman would be wrong and it'd warrant hitting her and some women also share this view.What's your take on the issue? Is there any time or any reason when you feel it's ok to hit a woman? Women,do you think there's a time when it's excusable for you to be hit?

I love your warrior spirit Mrs Chima! What I think Zim Drill is saying is that the wife is not demanding respect from the men around her. MOST men are going to respect a woman if she carries herself in such a way that he knows there will be consequences if he crosses the line.

I do not agree with the husband on beating her, but again she has failed to set boundaries. Sometimes men only respect strength.  The minute he threw the first punch she should have been on him like fleas on a dog. Grab the skillet, pot, broom, mop, whatever you can and inflict as much damage as you possible is my motto. My husband knows if he ever raises a hand to hit me, he better kill me on the first one, because if he doesn't, Armageddon will look like a picnic.

They are both wrong. But the common denominator in both situations is the woman not making it known that there are consequences for disrespecting her.

Now this is as matured as the replies should come!

The woman was the right person to do the talking to the 'arse tapper',not the husband.The husband's business is with the wife.The only time it is necessary and also wise for the husband to approach the 'arse tapper' is if the guy does it even after the woman scolded him.

It is not necessary,but very imperative.It doesn't matter for how long,but just be her friend.The reason is this; women are very sensitive beings,to win their hearts and gain their trust,you need to prove yourself a friend first.I was friends with all the ladies i dated before we even started dating,some a few days,some a few weeks,some a few months and some a few hours !

Really,some responses just made me laugh while some are just appalling ^{*good thing is everyone is entitled to his opinion*}.My opinion is this; it doesn't matter whether the wife wasn't the one who slapped her colleagues behind,she was wrong.From the story,that kind of thing prolly had happened before because she laughed and playfully chased him around.A morally reasonable woman would blow her top and seriously scold her friend."How you carry yourself determines how people act around you".However,the husband acted less than a man by hitting his wife,whether in public or not.The reasonable reaction would've been to leave her (if him too vex o) then really scold her when they get home.Na d way i see am sha!

It depends on the pple involved.If they are both ready to tie the knots,then y not? Else,as far as they understand each other,it' really ok.The gulr mighty be ready but the guy isn't finally ready,if they jump into marriage in such instance,then they'd end up frustrated cos of finance.Another thing is age,if they are were both very young,u don't expect them to get married cos it's bin long.My very good friend had a gurl who he dated for 7yrs.They were both young wen they met (attempting WAEC).That's d way i see it though!
