PoliticsUzodinma Stops Pensions, Gratuities To Former Governors, Speakers, Deputies by EBMedia(op):
Gov. Uzodinma Stops Payment Of Pensions, Gratuities To Former Governors, Speakers, Deputies

IgbereTV reports that Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has assented to a bill repealing the law that created pension allowances and gratuities for former governors, deputy governors, assembly speakers and deputy speakers.

The governor while signing the bill pointed out that the 1999 constitution stipulates that a pensioner must have worked for at least 10 years and must be up to 45 years whereas many of the ex-governors, deputies, speakers only end up serving eight years in office.

He also expressed dissatisfaction over the fact that some of the beneficiaries of such payments also get a huge amount of money as salaries and allowances in other positions they occupied, such as serving as senators or members of the House of Representatives.

He said: “Apart from the inconsistency of such a law to the provisions of the ground norm, which is the Constitution of 1999 (as amended), this has led for very long time precedence that does not encourage diligence and prudence in service delivery.”

Dear folks,
I need your advice, I am in a very big temptation.
My sister in-law visited us before the lockdown .
She is the elder sister of my wife and a widow.
I have been helping her and her kids ever since the husband died in auto crash in 2014.
During this lockdown that she is in my house with her kids , I noticed that she was just too nice to me in particular.
When the government eased the lockdown , one of the Mondays my wife went to her shop and the kids as usual were playing in the compound , she came into my bathroom were I was having shower, she met me naked and saw my third leg and the 2 big groundnuts hanging behind it.
She drew closer and I asked what was doing here.
She started crying , I quickly reach out to my towel and wrapped off my unclothedness .
Why did you just did what you did , I asked her again, but she continued crying , and eventually had to open up and tell me that ever since her husband died in 2014 that no man has ever touched her , she said the death of her husband affected her psychologically until I came in and started helping her family.
She confessed that the help made her to fall in love with me and would appreciate if I could screw her .
I pushed her away and came out of bathroom.

Ever since then , she has been disturbing me .
I was tempted to tell my wife about it , but the fear of both of them querelling for life or killing themselves I stay clear.

Please guys what do I do

Once my wife goes out she comes disturbing me to give it to her .
Ok , in one of those instance I asked her do you remember I am your sister husband , she said that is even the reason why she need me because it is one blood .

COVID-19: Just In!!! Abia State Relaxes Lockdown, Work Resumes, Worship Centres, Markets, Re-Open

IgbereTV reports that the COVID-19 lockdown in Abia State has been relaxed.

According to a statement made available to IgbereTV on Friday morning by the Secretary to State Government/Chairman, Abia State Covid-19 Committee, Barr. Chris Ezem, the Abia State Goverment decided to ease the COVID-19 lockdown in the state after consultations and considerations, including advice from medical experts.

It stated that the COVID-19 lockdown in the state has been relaxed in the following ways:

1. All markets in the state shall open only 3 times a week viz: Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, from 9am to 3pm daily. Relevant markets leadership have constituted a 17-man Enforcement Team that shall ensure provision of a minimum of 20 litres bucket with tap for running water, in addition to soap and sanitizers by each trader, and the wearing of face masks by both sellers and buyers in the market.

The enforcement teams are charged with the full responsibility of ensuring full compliance to social distancing in the markets at all times. They are also vested with powers to justifiably seal up any shop that circumvents any or all of these directives. Let it be noted that should there be any lapse on the part of the enforcement team of any market leading to a breach of these directives, such a market will be closed down by relevant local or state government authorities without any further recourse to the traders.

2. Commercial tricycle (Keke) operators and all other intra-state commercial transporters will now operate from 8am to 4pm daily. While keke operators can only carry 2 passengers at every point in time, mini buses (oke bekee) and other buses must not seat more than 2 persons per row with all passengers including the driver wearing face masks.

3. Burial ceremonies in the State are now allowed to hold only on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays of the 1st and 3rd week of every month.

For burials to be conducted by churches whether on a field or church premises, attendance to such events must not be more than 30 persons while only 10 persons are allowed for the ones to hold at private residences. The same protocol applies to burials to be conducted according to native rites.

In all cases, the church leader or traditional ruler concerned is expected to apply to the office of the Secretary to State Government (SSG) through the Transition Council Chairman of the relevant Local Government Area for burial permit. It is an offence to conduct or attend burial ceremonies without wearing face masks.

4. All Eateries/Restaurants must operate only on a take-away basis and close latest by 7pm daily. Management, staff and customers of such eateries/restaurants must always have their face masks on and provide hand sanitizers and/or soap and running water for customers at the entry points.

5. All our borders shall remain closed and all inter-state movements into Abia remain prohibited except for vehicles transporting essential items such as food, drugs and others duly authorized by the federal or state government. Drivers and passengers (not exceeding 2) of such authorised vehicles must wear face masks and be ready to subject themselves to search and medical tests as necessary.

6. It is worth emphasizing that wearing of face masks is compulsory in Abia State and law enforcement agents are authorised to apprehend offenders and present them before the Mobile Court for prosecution.

7. Religious activities/worships will hold only on Fridays for the Muslim communities, Saturdays for Sabbatarians and Sundays for others. Congregation of such worships must not exceed 50 persons per stream and they must all wear face masks while every worship centre must provide running water, soap and hand sanitizers at designated places in their premises.

All worship activities must end on or before 2pm on the days designated for worship.

8. Civil servants are to resume work on Monday 11th May, 2020 beginning with schedule officers on Grade Level 13 and above along with their immediate subordinates. They are to resume at 8am on alternate days of Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and close at 3pm.

All Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) are to function with not more than 20 persons and must provide buckets with taps for running water, soap and hand sanitizers at their offices.

Based on the forgoing, all MDAs are to submit the list of their staff scheduled to be at work in this period to the Head of Service.

9. All our schools remain closed till further notice.

The statement further reads, "Government urges Ndi Abia and residents alike to continue to maintain all COVID-19 protocols as it concerns wearing of face masks, regular hand washing and use of sanitizers in order to stay safe at all times."

"All the directives above on graduated relaxation of lockdown protocols takes effect from Monday, 11th May, 2020."

"Finally, Government commends all our front line service providers, those on essential services, environmental and community health workers, security operatives, State and Local Government enforcement teams, our donors, volunteer organizations, ASEPA and, indeed, Ndi-Abia for keeping faith with Government in the fight against Covid-19 in the State."

IgbereTV reports that Martha Wangari Karua, a Kenyan politician, who is a former member of parliament for the Gichugu Constituency and an advocate of the high court of Kenya, Social justice advocate, has publicly spoken against the testing of the Coronavirus vaccines on Kenyans.

She said on Saturday that if the Ministry of Health says Kenya was ready for the testing process, then the top government officials should be first in line.

“Now that @MOH_Kenya says Kenya is open to the testing of British vaccines in Kenya, let them be tested on members of the cabinet and their families and thereafter all elected representatives and senior government officials" the former minister tweeted.

On Friday, Kenyans got the news that scientists from Oxford University in the UK were planning to test their vaccines in Kenya.

According to a report by the BBC, the scientists are considering trialling the vaccines in Kenya if at all they do not get the expected results in the United Kingdom.

Kenyans have since been questioning the decision to test the vaccines in their country seeing that the COVID-19 cases are still low as compared to other countries.

However, the Ministry of Health denied claims of any planned COVID-19 vaccine trial on Kenyans, stating that if there was any plan for COVID-19 vaccine trial, the public would be informed by the Kenyan Health Ministry.

Coronavirus: ‘We Are Running Against Time With No Laboratories, Ventilators’ – NCDC

IgbereTV reports that the Director-General, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Chikwe Ihekweazu, has said that the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 is running against time as Nigerians are already getting tired of the lockdown.

Ihekweazu spoke during a virtual press briefing by the World Economic Forum/World Health Organisation on Thursday.

He said:-

“We will be transferring some of our knowledge from states to states. We are running against time because people are pushing to live normal life.

“At the same time, we are confronted with the escalation phase of the figures. So how to balance this will be very a difficult decision to be made in the coming week.

“We wished we had the laboratories and ventilators we need, but we simply don’t, and the supply chain of these things are fragmented at the moment, so we will have to make do with what is available."
