Kossyso: This gigantic project will be great for the entire Aguata and Orumba after completion. Yet I am sorry to say that nothing serious is going on here. With this pace, I doubt if Soludo will deliver this project in his first tenure.
Christmas is fast approaching and if nothing significant is done on this project, then it will be very difficult for motorists to navigate this roundabout. Are they going to make it inaccessible for those going to Mkpologwu, Uga, Oko, Nanka, Agulu, and the rest?
It may seem as though I am demanding too much but then what our Governor is delivering at the moment is not on par with what he promised during his campaign. So we will keep on pushing and demanding for the best. God bless our dear state! The sub structure actually takes a long time to be completed especially if the company handling the foundation is not experienced! I wonder why they did not use Trevi foundation or Honewell ?........anyway Thank God the project is moving ! |

1Dray: Bandits sack 15 communities in Taraba, monarch laments By Charles Akpeji, Jalingo 13 September 2023 |
The district head of Gamfurum Community in Bali Local Council of Taraba State, Muhammed Gamfuru, has lamented complete takeover of 15 communities in the council by bandits. Gamfuru, who narrowly escaped from one of the communities with his wives and children, said the bandits are in the communities roaming around freely. The monarch lamented that the situation is making Governor Agbu Kefas’ dream of bringing his military background to bear in addressing the security challenges in the state a mirage. According to him, hundreds of people from the communities are in custody of the kidnappers, while those lucky to have escaped from the areas, have taken refuge in Garba-Chede, the administrative headquarters of the chiefdom. The monarch said bandits attempted to abduct him and members of his family severally, but escaped, and was compelled to relocate from the area with his family. He said: “We have no option than to run away from our towns and villages to safe areas, because the bandits are in large numbers and armed with AK47 guns.
“The bandits treat abductees as slaves; they chain and force them to carry loads. whenever they are moving to another base or location.” The traditional ruler called on relevant authorities to, as a matter of urgency, put mechanisms in place to address the situation, as the bandits had in the last one week, abducted many, including women and children in his domain, He added that six victims from the communities regained freedom after paying N7 million ransom. Other persons from the communities, who spoke to The Guardian, pleaded with the state governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, to use his military background to reach out to the bandits. Confirming the development, spokesperson for Taraba State Police Command, Abdullahi Usman, said the command has come up with a joint patrol to arrest the situation. He said the joint patrol comprises the military, police, hunters, and the vigilantes, With the collaboration, Usman said the team would soon flush out the bandits who have been making life unbearable for the people. He said: “Last Friday, the Commissioner of Police drafted more men to join that operation. He briefed them at the headquarters before drafting them, and more men will also be sent to beef up operation.”
https://guardian.ng/news/bandits-sack-15-communities-in-taraba-monarch-laments/ Every state should be allowed to set up and run their own police force! With all these fulani police commissioners in command.......these bandits will continue to roam free! |

festacman: Aesthetically, Florence Ita-Giwa is at liberty, like any other woman, to make effort to look beautiful. Politically, however, there is basically no difference between Donald and Florence Ita-Giwa. They are part of the selfish politicians that keep riding on the back of people of Cross River people to advance political and financial interests since the formation of PDP in 1989. They may change political parties, but their motives remain the same.
What is still baffling today is how Donald Duke, as governor of Cross River State, sunk billions of Naira in Tinapa Project, a project of which he alone seems to understand in the whole in Cross River State because even Liyel Imoke the successor governor he installed abandoned it and successive governors followed suit. The buildings are still there wasting away and he, Donald Duke has not even been able to explain how to put the buildings to use as the one who conceived the project.
All over the world, a massive project as Tinapa comes with a document that shows the plan, the phases, the objectives, cost/benefit analysis, opportunities it offers, scalability, how it will impact other sectors, etc. This helps everybody to buy into the project and successive governments would find it easy to continue or even improve upon. Tinapa looks now like Donald Duke's personal pet vanity project.
Donald Duke should shut the f*ck up. Even sef is Donal duke not paternally from Anambra state...........word is his father is from onitsha or oba?? |

Politics › Re: Why I Am SCARED Of An Igbo Presidency by ebufa: 10:20pm On Sep 11, 2023 |
Quintessence44: I fear an Igbo presidency. With each passing day, and with each anti-Nigerian comment I read on social media, of which 98% are from Igbos, the more I fear, and the more my soul rejects an Igbo presidency.
I reckon they lack the patriotism to be trusted with power over this federation, and could use that power, if granted them, to sabotage the country, leading to its disintegration.
We can’t afford to take that chance in my view.
I can imagine the ruling classes also see this trajectory of deep Igbo unpatriotism, and are equally taking notes on the need to prevent their presidency anytime soon. When will you Africans pick up your history books.......Igbos were largely instrumental to pushing the British out! The civil war changed the Nigerian narrative and the country has never recovered its equilibrium. Inequity and the jaundice you preach is what will break up Nigeria not an Igbo presidency |

Christianity Etc › Re: Reno Omokri Replies Christians On 'Jesus Mother Of Mary' Mosque by ebufa: 1:00am On Aug 22, 2023 |
Truthday: It is somewhat surprising that Nigerian Christians, and even a newspaper like Punch, are surprised that there is a mosque named after Mary, the mother of Christ, in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
Those asking Nigerian Muslims to learn from Dubai, are actually the ones who should learn from Nigerian Muslims. They are relatively ignorant of Islam.
The most Islamic state in Nigeria is Sokoto. And one of the most common names in that seat of the Islamic Caliphate is actually the name of Christ. Isa is not a Hausa name. Isa, or Yisa, or Issa, is the Arabic version of Yeshua in Hebrew and Jesus in Greek.
So revered is the name in Sokoto that a Local Government Area is named after Him-Isa Local Government Area, Sokoto.
As a matter of fact, you cannot be a true Muslim if you do not believe that God sent Christ.
When prophet Muhammad, Salla Allahu alayhi Wasalaam, had his first revelation of the Quran, he went with his wife, Khadijah, to consult a man named Waraqah ibn Nawfal. Waraqah was a monotheistic Christian, who revered Maryam (Mary).
When the Quraysh wanted to kill prophet Muhammad (SAW) and the first Muslims, the Muslims escaped to the Christian nation of Ethiopia, where they were protected by the Negus, which was the first hijrah before the hijrah to Medina.
Christ is mentioned by name in the Quran more times than anybody except prophet Muhammad (SAW), and his mother, Maryam, of whom the Dubai mosque is named, is the only woman mentioned BY NAME in the Quran. (Other women were mentioned but not by name).
So, if Al-Quran mentions Maryam, why is it surprising that a mosque is adorned with her name?
Christ Himself is described in the Quran as Al-Masihu Isa (Yeshua The Messiah) in Quran 4.157, 4.171.
So, it is only people unfamiliar with Islam in general, and with Islam as practiced in Nigeria, that will marvel at the Dubai mosque named after Maryam (Mary).
How can you ask Nigerian Muslims, who named a whole Local Government after Yeshua (Jesus), to learn from Dubai, because they named a mosque after Maryam (Mary). Who should learn tolerance from who?
