Onegai:don't mind that hypocrite igbo friend of urs, you made a strong point of personalities, maybe every case should be judged on its own merit and not used as a yardstick for generalisations. Though from tonychristopher angle, he speaks more on issues beyond the personality or idiosyncrasies of the couples themselves but rather the broader perspective with respect to external factors the couple face, eg relatives, tradition, identity crisis with children. You both make very strong points in ur perspectives and are both right to me in combination, guess the difference is the conclusion |
You all getting emotional aren't seeing the big picture, there are generalisations and of course exceptions, most with successful inter-tribal marriages are exceptions and very blessed, tonychristopher isn't very far from the truth with respect to the majority of cases. It's everybody's opinions and experiences. The challenges poses is why we sought successful experiences from the successful ones |
KingRex1:a technical approach is very glaring, diversification and economic prudence. It's a solution that involves everybody irrespective of status. The oil sector will never recover it's previous value and we can't continue to hope it does. Our waste culture, poor maintenance philosophy and worse of all, kleptomaniac political class must be done away with. Resources are scarce and we aren't robust enough to accommodate frivolousness |
Life is hard, life will be hard, life has been hard, the rich will also cry. These are some prophetic declarations people made. Yet nobody heeded. Look at the current mess the economy is in, if not oarrested soon by a sudden improvement in global oil prices, we can envisage a period of hardship for common Nigerians. Yet it's a wonderful how we got here, how visionless our leaders were and how sheeple the citizens were. Anyway, stability is a strong deciding factor for mediocrity. Years and years of the oil boom made corruption and inefficiency attractive. The system was robust enough to accommodate them. We brewed a political class fueled and run by the most corrupt of the lot and some judged the performance of an elected official by how much his corruption benefited them, today the oil is almost valueless and recent trend aren't showing signs of recovery. Is this nation doomed? Will the economic crisis finally bring us all to our knees to face reality? That answer is very dependent on the Nigerian reaction to the current crisis, should we wail, point accusing fingers, politicise our situation etc, we will be doomed, should we learn from the current situation and become adaptive, then yes there will be light at the end of the tunnel. We can't keep importing toothpicks, we can't afford foreign trips to hospitals while our hospitals are in perpetual decay, we can't continue to have a non existent middle class, we can't continue to run an expensive government, we can't continue to give excuses In the power sector, we can't continue to afford failed refineries, we can't continue to undignify honest labour as opposed to sharp practises, in a nut shell, WE CAN'T CONTINUE NOR AFFORD TO BE USUAL NIGERIANS. The civil war proved that Nigerians are adaptable and creative, this economic crisis must force a rethink of everything Nigerian, there will be light at the tunnel-end, if only we react properly. #eddygourdo |
ckmayoca:thank you sir |
plaetton:mockery brings no lasting solutions except stagnant economic and political growth. My post didn't exempt or excuse the apc goon. It rather attempts to empower our youths to live up to expectations |
7lives:hahahahahaha you got it spot on. Awon freeloaders. I hope things change for better. |
kurlz:naughty you...... Goats aren't intelligent so they should be eaten na |

Things like this makes me doubt my masculinity some times, as a child, all doctors and nurses at ikeja medical centre all know me and prepare for my arrival with their running shoes and canes, till they learnt physical restraint. The mere thought of anything chooking me gives me chills, now see me a full grown man always disgracing myself everywhere. I have had typhoid since November, the only permanent solution is heavy dose of antibiotics intravenously, since I have used gentamicin and ciprotab all to no avail. I have chosen death than to go through the ordeal. But thinking of my loved ones, I don't wanna die. I am at a lab where I redid another widal with hope God has intervened. I wept profusely to the amazement of the sexy lab attendant as she took my blood. She was stupified. I don't know where this phobia came from, I am sitting in the ward with shame now amongst grinning patients who heard my scream. I need to handle this issue and handle it fast. Is there anybody who has successfully outgrown this phobia? If yes how did you do it... I have tried looking away but I can't oh. |
E383:hahahahahaha you sef no dey forget something....... |
Flexherbal:They can only do that via constructive criticism, not the current method of taking partisan sides, thus all we hear are complaints and no solution is proffered |
Redoil:really? Bloggers are watch dogs of the common man in Nigeria..... Very educative..... . Please bro sound intellectual |
Redoil:I rightly mentioned the apc goons in my post. Can you tell me how aisha behaviour hinders or encourages the dividends of democracy from getting to you. As a citizen those dividends should be your concern, the development of the nation for our future should be our concern, not the shameless behaviour of people who should know better, we should concern ourselves with issues that affect our growth and not gossip columns. |
The check and balance used in accounting and economics can be likened to the opinion of critics in a democracy. Very important set of people. These are the people who keep government on its toes and whose criticisms acts as external unpaid advice for a wise leader, thus it must be admitted that, a biased, partisan or unknowledgeable critic is a loud gong. It produces noise and affects our sanity. Nigeria has the rights to good leaders and good critics for it survival. It hurts me to see that the only control /steering mechanism the populace should possess in airing our view to government policies has been hijacked by tribalists, no do gooders and criminals. It's really unfortunate. The youths of today must prove they are in the jet age, we must be faster in reasoning and demonstrate sound judgement. Sometimes I wonder if the sufferings of unemployment and job unsatisfaction is a deliberate ploy to enslave the mind of our youths to stomach infrastructure solutions. We must rise up as the leaders of tomorrow by demonstrating capacity for sound judgement and ideological discourse. I was talking with a wailer and he kept hammering on the Presidents lack of a certificate, I refused to respond to that and rather tackled him on the economy, every point raised was met with, am an engineer, I don't understand economics, I tackled him on issues on our legislation and it's inefficiency, I was met with same response, I am an engineer I don't understand law, I made It clear that anybody can be a president and it's a temporary position. The development of a nation is never the sole responsibility of who is in charge, but as US president J F Kennedy pointed out " every citizen must do his or her duty towards the fatherland" therefore a critic should not only be about pointing out faults, attributing blames but should be competent enough to proffer likely solutions as well. This is the unpaid advice part. Look at lai Muhammed, fayose, wailing wailers, ipob, apc goons during Gej........ All you see are noise makers, blame agents and no do gooders. They can pin point errors but are unable to proffer solutions or advise. If we come to the agreement that our president is limited academically, I believe the educational expectations of a Presidential candidate as define by law is a high school certificate, yet we have graduates in the category described above who can't differentiate capital and recurrent in a budget, nor can they explain our current economic situation to the market woman, yet they are critics of the same ignorance displayed by the so-called certificate - less president. Criticism should generate accountability, generate true change, generate a brainstorming of possible solutions to help the current government lead us aright. Buhari was wrong to point out the obvious truth to the global public because his actions can never be justified by what he stands to gain in the long run or big picture, same accusations I am pointing out to the unfair critics, what do you hope to gain from ur constant biased criticism, from your unfair judgements..... Are your actions aimed at destroying the nation or building it in hope for better service to Nigerians. Change is needed in the Nigerian personality and not just Nigeria's economy. Mr Fayose, just as the President is saddled with finding our economic solutions as the sole head of the nation, So also are you saddles with same responsibility of finding economic solutions to your failing state as it's soke head,. If you can't find means to augument the short fall in your federal allocations, then your not fit to rule the state just as buhari isn't fit to rule the country. Sheath all swords and let's make Nigeria great. # eddygourdo/unbiased |
Vivly:I am not in the mood for quarrels, thus will let that slide. Cheers |
Vivly:no humane human will accept the I'll treatment of animals. They are living things. Dogs should not be eaten. I have always wanted to do this for a long time. It's only the moral angle that I fault my actions as it's not my business plus it's his livelihood as I pointed out. But not everything is meant for our mouths.. Eating a dog is synonymous with human flesh in my opinion. So young lady if you have empathy you will understand my position at least then criticise instead of ur attacks on my person |
jeff1607:God forbid, I can't dare admit to the crime oh. My reputation will be toast, I will pay back as a samaritan that's why I hope I can get real info on the cost of those dogs. They were so malnourished..... Chai....... I hate this world |
herald9:bros the cross is really heavy. I wish I had more money and dropped the total cost. Do you believe I almost dropped 5k, it was when I saw they were 9dogs dat I added an additional 2k. It makes sense to find the cost of the whole ish and pay the man. I pointed out he was a middle man, so clearly was in it for the business side. Dat was wrong on my part. Will pay him month end but won't admit my crimes. I am very well respected in the area |
Oxcar:hmmmmm mm. Tell all these ladies attacking me to leave me alone. We go settle the matter amicably |
Vivly:carry on the ramblings. Too bad ur not in touch with ur humanity and I am. Yes I will pay him complete because that's the amount I should have dropped Initially but I didnt have more than Wat I dropped. I won't pay him cos I feel bad, really I don't feel bad though might not do that move again |
How much does a local dog go for. On the average. From the attacks here I believe dog meat eaters are here. I wanna know how much I owe. Seriously you all should have more empathy to animals especially dogs. Killing a dog, if you have lived with one before is almost synonymous with killing a human. Eating the flesh is just plain wrong. .... My view though guess u have urs |
Vivly:young lady you are very abusive. I had my reasons and paid Wat I had. It makes sense to pay the balance to the man which I intend to do. But please watch ur utterances |
vickylala239:I gave Wat I had. But I see ur point. I kinda meddled since it wasn't mine. I still feel treatment of dogs I that way is very very wrong. I intend to pay back the balance once I know what they are worth. Thanks for the insults though. But I get ur point. Cheers |
vivaciousvivi:kk. Thanks |
faites:yes oh. Ten dogs. My entire family are dog people. |
uchwar1:ok Bro. Will try to pay back |
vivaciousvivi:thanks dear. But with all the insults I have gotten here and that of the man. I wanna pay the balance on the dogs. Hopefully will pay him this month end. I got too emotional, though I really hate when dogs are maltreated, eaten but maybe like they all said, I was wrong..... Maybe |
KanwuliaExtra:u eh eh...... |
KanwuliaExtra:Well am with u on the big brain thing. Kini no be food. Thank God ur still alive, guess I will soon be killed thanks to those attacking me on a thread of mine on front page. Simply cos I confessed my sins on this forum |
KanwuliaExtra:really? Guess you will have to learn to pet a crying man. The white friends I have are really cool guys though. Very mature. Though I heard their kini is on the micro level. Manage despite all na cross |
