Liking Rohr more and more these days. Good to see him speak up for his assistants. I'm shocked Agu doesn't have a contract.

ChrisKels: But Etafia and Ikeme of 2008 follow for the depth wey u say na die nah
Enyeama was overly erratic until 2010 worldcup. His heroics against Argentina changed everything about how fans viewed him, and that was majorly what informed Lille's decision to sign him. So Enyeama wasn't really that special, neither was ejide nor Aiyenugba.
Bros I would play Ndidi ahead of Mikel in the defensive midfield position, and shift Mikel to the CM in place of Obodo, who could only play once for Udinese in the season in question, and a total number of 78games from 2005 - 2012. Infact Obodo of 2008 wouldn't make Eagles bench today. Hence, in that midfield, only Mikel can break in to give us an Ndidi DM, Mikel CM and Iwobi AM set up. Stop oo. Obodo of 06-08 > present Etebo. |

What England lacks is that winning mentality in at the big stage. Yep. The likes of Trevor Brooking deserves all the credit. Dude was amongst the guys that pushed for reforms in the English game. Now England are reaping the benefits. This is what we should be doing at naija...bring the likes of Kojo Williams and ex internationals like Odegbami, Emenalo, Oliseh, Olofinjana, etc. |

England stinks!! This isn't the 90s. England are producing players on par with their euro counterparts in terms of technical ability, quality on the ball, etc. A guy like Lookman would make our first 11 easily. England have players in their u21/23 that would make our first team easily. This our arrogance don dey too much. |

tbaba1234: NFF announces return of Salisu Yusuf, thanks Imama for services as Olympic Eagles Coach
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have announced the return of suspended Coach Salisu Yusuf, who served a one-year ban for receiving bribe while in-charge of the Home based Eagles.
Yusuf was laid off for a year and fined US$5000 for accepting a “cash gift” of $1000 to select and field two players during Nigeria’s 2018 African Nations Championship in Morocco.
The 57 year-old served his suspension between September 2018 and 2019.
In a statement on Thursday, the NFF confirmed the Coach’s return.
Previously, Yusuf was in charge of the Home Eagles and also the Head Coach of the Olympic Eagles.
During the period of his ban, Imama Amapakabo served in his stead as Head Coach and assistant to Gernot Rohr in the senior men’s national team.
The NFF statement reads:
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Football Federation has noted that the Chief Coach of the Super Eagles, Salisu Yusuf has now fully served the one –year suspension clamped on him last year.
The Federation thanked Coach Imama Amapakabo for his sterling efforts while in charge of the U23 National Team in the absence of the suspended Yusuf, and for eventually seeing to the team’s qualification for the U23 AFCON.
Although the NFF is yet to confirm Yusuf will return to all his previous roles, besides as Super Eagles Chief Coach, it is believed he will take over Nigeria’s preparation for the Africa U23 Cup of Nations.
Source:BrilaFM Disgraceful from NFF. Salisu should never be allowed to coach again for this nonsense. Pinnick can be so annoying at times. He should've made an example out of Salisu. One year suspension only to return to his 2m a month job. Seriously?? |

Danielnino00: Aribo is good but I don't think he will displace Etebo any time soon.. Etebo is well suited for Africa football.. Pace,stamina,power.. He has it all... I think Rohr will be tempted to field both alongside Ndidi from time to time. It'll be difficult with Iwobi new found form as 10. Good headache to have. |

benji93: Honestly, although i maintain my stand that the "saviour coach" is mostly clueless . I am not holding the ukrainian match against him. He was experimenting, and some of the specimens in the experiment just didn't fit in. I am refusing to comment on the "saviour coach" cos i am on the fence with respect to the opinion that the deterioration of our play against Ukriane was his fault. We will see if he has repented from his cluelessness under pressure when he decides on a more or less constant crop of players. I haven't watch the game properly in full but for once I find it hard to blame Rohr. He made the right subs but timing might have been a lil bit wrong. Nothing wrong with bringing on Esiti and pushing Etebo to CM. It's not his fault Esiti was disappointing. |

Etebo and Aribo are similar players. Both are two way box to box central midfielders. I don't understand why people think Etebo is competing with Ndidi. Anyhow Na Rohr I blame for this. I don't understand why he'd be playing him as the deepest midfielder. This is why being versatile can sometimes be a curse. |

darkelf: Mikel wasn't the best we had Nerdy. Its not about negatives. Its the truth nobody choose to admit because we looked to his past glories.
Aribo would have done better than Mikel as a CM at the AFCON. I would've even taken Ebere Eze in place of Mikel. Mikel was invited on pure sentiments. He wasn't even the best or most important player in his championship team. Mikel had a great end to the season with Boro therefore he deserved to go to the AFCON. Yeah he didn't play well but he was the only DLP we had. In a way, his poor form coincidenced with Iwobi finally making the 10 spot his. Like a said time and time again, on paper the Mikel - Ndidi - Etebo mid was balanced on paper. I personally feel we might have beaten Algeria if Mikel was on form. Nothing like sentiments. Dude captained Boro a few times at the end of last season. |
