Good win. We worked for it but we were great second half.
Mikel needs to either play as a regista or be benched. He brings a calming presence to the side but we need that further back.
-Iwobi is a 10. That is where he should play from now on. With the emergence of Samu, we don't need him out wide.
- Our front 4 should be Ighalo with Musa - Iwobi - Samu behind. Onyekuru as back up to Musa with Simon and Kalu competing with Samu.
- Line up today wasn't bad. Player roles was an issue. Etebo should've played further forward to make runs in behind instead of Mikel who lacks mobility.
- Musa had a great cameo. Will be obviously starting the next match. It's great we can bring in someone similar like Onyekuru from the bench.
Onauchu was underwhelming but we didn't utilize his height. He didn't get too many crosses to be far. Ighalo is still by far the better option.
Good 3 points and well done to Rohr. His only mistake was starting Mikel as a 10. His subs were spot on and at the right time. Bring on the next game... |

Ighalo is our best striker. Find a better striker or chop sand if you disagree. |

So Rohr puts the only player that can in behind further back while we're lacking incision and movement upfront. Is it a fucking must to play Mikel as a 10?? Rohr is starting to piss me off. |

SerVik: I have zero doubts about xavi's understanding of the game, where I have little doubts is his ability to recognize talents.
I have seen so many xavi interviews where he called some average midfielders his heir, and how they possess 'barca DNA.'
Sure he has alot to learn, he just recently received his UEFA coaching license and I think he has been given the coaching role in his Saudi Arabian club. Let's see how it goes.
But bro, if you're going to feel that way about xavi based on what he said, how did you feel about Henry when he said he started learning how to play football under guardiola? Henry has Pep's balls deep down his throat. I was shocked when he said that. Wenger was the guy who practically made him the striker he was. I can understand praising Pep's tactical acumen but that was just plain dick riding. |

nelszx: If this is anything to go by; our XI vs Burundi 4-3-3 formation Looking forward to seeing what Chukwueze will do today. I would've started Onyekuru. He need someone to make runs in behind. I guess that will Etebo. |

TheGoodJoe: Why I feel Xavi will be exceptional is simply his in depth understanding of the philosophy. You can not impact what you do jot understand. Keep in mind as a midfielder, he led Barca a number of times in orchestrating the play.
You will not find a better person who understands the philosophy in depth as Xavi. Which makes him clearly the best person to pass it on.
As long as Xavi can teach a team to keep the ball for a long time just as he did and his understanding of formidable attackers to use the chances, the possibilities are huge. True. Let's see what he does with Barca B when the time comes... |

comodo: Good news: Kalu has received all clear to participate by CAF medics. Bad news is, many SE players are still down. Musa, Ighalo, Balogun, Shehu, & others not mentioned yet. Like Aina. Waiting to confirm his fitness tho. Periwinkle don tie wrapper my pipu. Na Rohr won't risk it. He has already said he'll start the fitness players. So Samu and Onyekuru/Iwobi will most likely start |

Earthquake3: He doesn't do it frequently as De bruyne or Ozil to warrant a comparison Controlling a game or giving the final ball?? If it's giving the final ball - the likes of Cesc and Ozil are better at that than Xavi too. |

SerVik: If this argument is about who the better footballer is, it is clearly dinho. His talent level was off the charts.
If however, it is about who understands the game more, then it is xavi all day everyday. xavi's understanding of the game is second to none. His utilization of the concept of time and space was a delight to watch.
Let me put it this way. If xavi and ronaldinho where to go into coaching, who do you think would make the better coach? Xavi is guardiola level brilliant Agree but I don't think he'll be a great coach. Being a great coach isn't solely about understanding the game but being able to impart that knowledge on players. I also haven't forgiven him for saying Henry was just a physical player and lacked technical ability. Let's not forget he has bigged up a number of flops i.e Samper, etc. |

Earthquake3: Even Jorginho can do that
What sets Xavi out is doing the simple pass as well as keeping an eye upfront for movement for a through pass
Don't compare Xavi to Alcantara pls Thiago can do that but not at the level of peak Xavi. I think that's what TheGoodJoe is talking about. |

OMANBALA1: Etebor is not a better 10 but he is a workhorse. I mean, Iwobi couldn't play against Europeans and now you think he can play the ever physical African team.
Additionally, Etebor was our best dribbler in the world...So, yes , he can dribble and run with the ball. I never said Etebo couldn't dribble. Infact him being a great ball carrier is the reason I like when he plays in the middle. However he isn't a better number 10 than Iwobi. |

Curtisaxel7: By the way, let's talk about Iwobi for a bit. Sentiments aside, that guy doesn't fill me with confidence at all.
His shooting is pathetic, ditto his long passing abilities, his goal sense below par, aerial ability is zero, ball control average at best....the only thing he has going for him is his one-two passes and once in a blue moon accurate defence splitting pass.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm a big Iwobi fan and I wish him the very best but if I were in Rohr's shoes right now, I'd play Etebo as 10 ahead of Iwobi.
Your thoughts? His ball control is not average - it's above average. He is also a good dribbler/ball carrier. He needs to work on his finishing and consistency. His decision making isn't that bad - just not consistent enough. Etebo is not a better 10. |
