Police have arrested an HIV-infected soldier identified as Sgt. Maj. Jakkrit Khomsing who allegedly blackmailed and raped more than 70 teenage boys in Thailand.

Police said in a statement that they received a complaint that Khomsing was using fake social media profiles on Facebook and the gay dating app Blued to win the trust of his victims. Police Lt. Col. Nacharot Kaewpetch said the victims would send their nude photos to Khomsing before agreeing to meet him.

When they found out he was not who he pretended to be online, he would threaten to make their nude photos public if they refused to have sex with him. Kaewpetch said police discovered medicine for treating HIV when they arrested the 43-year-old Khomsing at his home on Wednesday in the northeastern province of Khon Kaen.

They said tests confirmed he was infected with HIV. So far police have determined that Khomsing had more than 70 victims between the ages of 13 and 18. “Even though the suspect is a soldier, this behavior and I’ve consulted with army commanders is a personal issue, not an organisational one,” police Maj. Gen. Surachate Hakparn said.

Police said they are widening their investigation and attempting to contact other victims who have not yet filed charges. Police have so far charged Khomsing with six offenses, including sex with a minor under 15 with or without their consent, punishable by 4-20 years in prison.

Other charges are indecent assault of a minor under 15 using threats, punishable by up to 10 years in prison; separating a minor under 15 from their parents without reason, punishable by 3-15 years in prison; blackmail, punishable by up to 3 years in prison; and coercing minors to conduct inappropriate acts, punishable by up to three months in prison.

A gunman killed 12 people, including sheriff sergeant Ron Helus, after opening fire at a bar in Thousand Oaks, California, late Wednesday. .

The gunman was found dead at the scene. Police officers headed to Borderline Bar & Grill in Thousand Oaks at around 11:20 p.m., Ventura County Sheriff Bill Ayub said, after receiving multiple calls of shots fired. .

They found 11 deceased victims as well as the suspect, also deceased. About 10 to 12 people were also found with different levels of injury who were rescued and taken to local hospitals. .

More people with minor injuries took themselves to hospitals as well. Ayub didn’t provide additional information about the gunman but said no links to terrorism had yet been determined. .

Borderline, which bills itself as the “biggest dance floor in town,” had been hosting an event called “College Country Night” when the shooting occurred. .

The bar is reportedly a popular spot for college students from nearby California Lutheran University, Moorpark College and Pepperdine University.

Prince Charles has spoken about the ongoing dispute over whose Jollof rice is best, only to side step the issue of revealing his own preference.

Speaking in Nigeria at the end of his West Africa tour, he said:

Having also visited The Gambia and Ghana over the past week, our visit to Nigeria may perhaps provide an invaluable opportunity to compare – if one ever dares do such a thing! – the relative merits of each country’s Jollof rice… however, for fear of sparking a diplomatic incident, I suspect I shall have to let you draw your own conclusions about which country’s Jollof we found to be the most delicious!"

The last high-profile British person to dare to talk about Jollof rice was the chef, Jamie Oliver, who at least seemed to unite West Africans in condemnation of his own recipe.

We suspect that Prince Charles was briefed about the ongoing rivalry over the traditional dish made with rice, tomatoes and spices because he was so careful not to reveal his favourite.

There has even been a song written by a Ghanaian about how much she can't stand Nigerian Jollof rice.

A chief who refused to removed his traditional headgear, was, yesterday, denied entry into a plane at the Enugu airport.

Togolese cook who was accused and arrested for allegedly killing Chief Ope Bamidose has made some shocking revelation.

Yesterday, the Ondo state police command arrested 22-year-old Togolese cook, Sunday Anani, over the murder of his boss, Chief Opeyemi Bademosi, a socialite and chairman of Credit Switch Technology.

Chief Bademosi was found dead in the pool of his blood by his wife, inside their home in Parkview estate on Wednesday, October 31st.
Anani who is the prime suspect in the murder of Chief Ope Bademosi, was arrested at his hideout in Ondo State yesterday, November 2nd.

In a video posted online, Sunday alleged that some persons, believed to be assassins, came to their home on the day of the incident and killed the deceased.
''I am not the one that killed him. About four people entered the house that morning. They passed through the front door and opened the kitchen door. Immediately I asked who is that.

They blew my face and neck and then started to drag me on the floor. They asked me where was chief? I used to call him Oga. So I asked them who be chief? I told them Chief is inside his room.

They said where is his wife? I said his wife had gone out. They told me if I don't say the truth, they would kill me. They blew me again and immediately I pointed to Chief's room,'' he said.

All hell broke loose after a Chinese man decided to insult a Kenyan man in his own country by calling him a monkey. It was gathered that the Chinese called the man a ‘Nugu’ which means monkey in Kenya (despite his big size) after a quarrel at the supermarket.

Clearly, the Kenyan man who was not having it, decided to show the foreigner ‘how monkeys behave in their country’.

In a trending video posted online (watch below), the Kenyan man can bee seen dragging the Chinese after the insult before giving him a resounding slap which nearly got him off his balance.

Other Kenyans at the supermarket had to intervene and restrain their compatriot before fully unleashing his anger on the Chinese man.

The video was recorded by another shopper who couldn’t contain her shock at the sound of the slap.

There was jubilation in Owerri, the Imo State capital, following reports that the operatives of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the State Police Command had arrested two most wanted armed robbers and kidnappers in the state.

The suspects, Chinedu Nwoke, popularly known as Assa, 32, and Uzoma Okafor, 30, were arrested in Owerri on Saturday.

A senior police source told our correspondent that the suspects were overpowered at the Control Post axis in Owerri after a gun duel with the F-SARS operatives.

The source said, “We have arrested the most wanted kidnappers, armed robbers and murderers in town. Chinedu Nwoke, popularly known as Assa, is 32 years old and he is from Ezioha Umuduru in the Oru East Local Government Area of Imo State.

“The other suspect is Uzoma Okafor of Number 10, Old Nekede Road, Owerri. They were arrested at Control Post Roundabout by the F-SARS operatives following a tip-off.

“One locally made pistol with two unexpended cartridges and one expended cartridge were recovered. A black Nissan Pathfinder with registration number – KTU 824 FD – was also recovered.

“One of the suspects, popularly known as Assa, had allegedly committed many crimes. He is alleged to have killed four persons identified as Orufe, Ogbuno, Obarammuo and Kwabaiko. He was said to have attacked and killed policemen in Oru East in the past.”

Confirming the development, the state Commissioner of Police, Dasuki Galadanchi, said that the community policing strategies of the Inspector General of Police, which he said was being implemented by his Command, were yielding fruits in the state.

Former Arsenal striker, Nicklas Bendtner has been sentenced to 50 days in jail after being convicted of assaulting a taxi driver, Dailymail reports.

The Denmark international, who is now with Norwegian club Rosenborg, broke the jaw of the taxi driver following a night out in Copenhagen back in September.

A court in Copenhagen watched a video of the incident filmed from inside the cab. Bendtner, 30, will appeal the sentence having previously apologised.
He was able to walk free from the courtroom because the appeal is pending.

Rosenborg have stood behind Bendtner despite expressing their disapproval of his actions.

Bendtner was charged with beating and kicking the cab driver in the 2.41am incident on September 9 after he and girlfriend Philine Roepstorff had been at the exclusive nightclub Lusso.

Having quarrelled over the £4.80 fare, Bendtner punched the driver in the jaw before kicking him as he lay on the ground.

The argument started when Bendtner, who admitted he had been drinking, told the driver to 'keep left' only for him to turn left.

As tensions escalated, Bendtner claimed he felt threatened and left the taxi for his own safety.

The pair then squared up on the pavement, with Bendtner claiming he hit out in self-defence when the driver moved towards him.

Bendtner admitted hitting the driver but claimed it was in self-defence after the argument over the fare led to the driver throwing a can or bottle in his direction.

Bendtner has been handed an unconditional sentence and told to pay the driver £1,330 in compensation.

The cab driver was acquitted of violence but fined £355 for using his telephone while driving and not wearing his seat belt.

A Delta Pastor Emmanuel lost his life while running away after police found him in the company of some suspected Kidnappers.

The General Overseer of the Grace Dispensation Prophetic Ministry International located in Amukpe Axis of Sapele Delta State, Nigeria has disowned a pastor believed to be working with his church who has been shot dead by the police as he tried to escape when police accosted a robbery gang he was a member of.

One pastor Emmanuel lost his life while running away after police found him in the company of some suspected Kidnappers.
Obviously the incident is likely to damage the reputation of the church, hence its overseer, Apostle Joshua Oribhabor has distanced the church from the alleged criminal conducts of the deceased pastor.

He said:

“My Ministry Grace Dispensation Prophetic Ministry Int’l is not and can never be a party to his evil deed, we are informing the general public that we know nothing about it and the name of our Ministry should not be dragged to the mud.”

Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, has fired some hot shots to the Chief Judge of the State, over a recent controversial comment on the outspoken politician.

In a press statement issued on Ayodele Fayose's behalf by his Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, the former governor told the Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Justice Ayodeji Daramola, to grow up and shed his toga of unbridled hatred for him.

According to The Sun, the former Governor of Ekiti State, who was reacting to a statement by Daramola bad-mouthing the new state-of-the-art High Court complex constructed by the Fayose administration, said Daramola had only lent credence to the Yoruba adage that the horse of our enemy is never tall enough in our reckoning.
Adelusi said the true test of maturiry and decency is another Yoruba adage which says an elephant is too big an animal that somone out of malice or hatred will compare with a fly.

He said, “Reproach and bad-belle apart, the high court complex built by Fayose is world class. It is also the first of its kind since the creation of Ekiti state in 1996.
“If Daramola cannot commend Fayose, he could as well shut up his mouth and stop behaving like a cry-baby.”

Adelusi described Daramola’s statement that the new high court complex, built and commissioned five months ago, was hybrid of absurdity that could not be put to use, as an after-thought and an exercise in futility.

“It is shameless Pull-Him-Down syndrome at work. Daramola was there at commissioning; he should have spoken there and then or is he a coward? Disparaging Fayose now is an act of cowardice.
”Speaking now after Fayose has left office tantamount to back-biting and stabbing the former governor in the back.”

Adelusi, however, said he was not surprised by what Justice Daramola said because the judge was sad that such high court complex for the state was built by somebody he hated with a passion.
“Justice Daramola has never hidden his displeasure towards Fayose, dating back many years. He had time and again allowed himself to become willing tool in the hands of some politicians to be used against the former governor.

“Justice Daramola was bitter and shed tears at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado Ekiti on October 16, 2014, the day Fayose was being sworn in for second term because the former governor triumphed over all their conspiracies.

“Throughout the four years of Fayose’s administration, Justice Daramola never attended state functions personally and on the day when the foundation of the new high court complex was being laid, Justice Daramola openly expressed doubt of Fayose completing the project.

“In this regard, what does any right-thinking person expect Justice Daramola to say of one of Fayose’s legacy projects? When the project started, if truly he had noticed certain defects, why did he fail to point them out?

“Why did he have to wait till now? This, certainly, is not the act of a forward-looking person. It is without doubt an act of backwardness.
“Had this project been executed by the All Progressive Congress ( APC) administration whose interests Daramola leaves no one in doubt he represents, he would have commended it to high heavens.

“Justice Daramola will be well advised to please insulate himself from politics and allow Ekiti judiciary remain the last hope of the common man” , the statement concluded.

A Labour councillor caught with a large amount of drugs at a music festival has resigned as a councillor, having already left his cabinet post.

Ishmael Osamor, 29, had pleaded guilty to having £2,500-worth of drugs, at last year’s Bestival event in Dorset.

The Haringey councillor and son of a Labour MP apologised for the “unwanted attention” his case had brought.

Osamor was sentenced to a two-year community order and 20 days rehabilitation, last Friday.

The son of Shadow International Development Secretary Kate Osamor, was caught with ecstasy, cocaine, ketamine and cannabis at the festival in August 2017, nine months before he was elected as a councillor.

In a statement to the council’s chief executive he said: “It is with great regret that I am offering this as formal notice of my resignation as councillor, effective immediately.

“I would like to take the opportunity to apologise to the council, as I have to my ward colleagues and residents, for the unwelcome attention my case has brought to Haringey.”

Osamor resigned at a meeting of the council’s Labour group earlier after calls for him to quit.

Councillor Joseph Ejiofor, council leader, said: “Councillor Osamor came to see me on Friday 26 October and explained about an incident that happened in September last year.

“I expressed my concern and disappointment by the actions that he had admitted.

“The Labour Party expects high standards from its elected representatives, and I know that Councillor Osamor has taken some personal time over the past four days to review whether his actions have met this expectation.

“Consequently, Ishmael has decided to resign from Haringey Council. We respect his decision.”

Osamor admitted three charges of possessing drugs with intent to supply and a fourth charge of possession at Bournemouth Crown Court on Friday, the Local Democracy Reporter Service reported.

The pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, on Tuesday, announced the suspension of the candidate of the Social Democratic Party in the last governorship election in Osun State and member of the group, Senator Iyiola Omisore, for one year.

Omisore was alleged to have aligned with the All Progressives Congress to win the run-off election in the Ife South and North Local Government Areas of Osun State. His action was said to have gone against the position of his party, the Social Democratic Party, and the Afenifere.

Omisore’s suspension was part of the decisions taken at the monthly meeting of the Afenifere, held at the residence of its leader, Chief Reuben Fasoranti, in Akure, the Ondo State capital.

In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting and read by a chieftain of the group, Chief Korede Duyile, the group said Omisore allegedly went against the position of the Afenifere during the last governorship election in Osun State.

The group had earlier decided not to support the All Progressives Congress at the Osun governorship and the forthcoming general elections.

On the controversy surrounding the academic qualification of President Muhammadu Buhari, the Afenifere asked the President to produce his academic qualification to the Independent National Electoral Commission, saying failure.

The group also frowned on the recent killings of the protesting members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, also known as the Shiites, in Abuja, by the men of the Nigeria Army and the police, asking the Federal Government to release the leader of the Shiites group, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, who is currently in incarceration.

Afenifere said there was no justification for the action of the armed uniformed men to be shooting the protesting members of the Islamic group.

Meanwhile, the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party in Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, has said his decision to work for the APC in the rerun governorship election in the state was in consonance with the position of the SDP in the state.

Omisore, who said this in a text message sent to our correspondent to react to the one-year suspension slammed on him by the Afenifere, stated that the Yoruba socio-cultural group did not give him any directive concerning the poll.

He said although he had not been informed of the suspension, he stressed that he acted based on the resolution of the Osun State chapter of the SDP on whose platform he contested.

A former chairman of PDP in ward 4 Ahoada East local government area in Rivers state, Unwobudu Edima Sydah was allegedly shot dead by a police officer over 100 bribe in Rivers State.
The incident reportedly happened at a police check point in Obite Town, ONELGA on Wednesday, October 24th.

According to an eye witness: "A man killed a taxi driver at Obite town over the inability of the
taxi driver to give them N100 they refused people to take pictures and even OSPAC members from coming close tho their station.
''This happened Yesterday 24th of October, 2018 at their usual roadblock in front of their station at Obite town. Indeed police is your friend."

Facebook user, Gideon Murray also wrote;

A fine gentleman of the highest order was murdered by some oppressors who hide as men of the Nigerian Police Force.
I am still in shock that those who we paid to secure lives and property are directly doing the contrary.

Chief Unwobudu Edima Sydah a former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, ward Four in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State, Two term Chaiman of the National Union Of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Ahoada Region was gruesomely murdered by men of the police force simply because he didn't give them #100 bribe they usually take.

This action of the police portends great danger and if they are left unpunished it may lead to crisis which will jeopardize the relative peace we currently enjoy in the Orashi Region.
The perpetrators of this evil crime should be brought to book so that it will serve as a deterrent to those who may have same intentions in order to ensure that our safety is guaranteed.

This incidence occurred in Obite police station opposite Obite Gas Plant in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area Of Rivers State.
I hereby call on the rank and file of the police force to ensure that justice is served and culprits are punished as stipulated by the extant laws of the land.

An injury to one is an injury to all so I urge my fellow country men and women to rally round with us in our noble campaign of demanding for Justice for the Late Chief Unwobudu Edima Sydah.

We shall not be cowed nor intimidated in the call for Justice for the departed.

Fourteen desperate Nigerians have landed in serious trouble while attempting to secure permanent residency through an illegal marriage scheme in the United States.

The defendants, which also include three Cameroonians, are facing charges over conspiracy to make false statements in connection with immigration documents, commit mail fraud, commit marriage fraud, and to commit aggravated identity theft.

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services stated that three of the suspects – Adebisi Philip Bode Adejumo, 34; Godspower Raphael Sobaeh, 31; and Olabode Ebenezer Olubodun, 37 – pleaded guilty to the charges on Monday.

Adejumo, United States Attorney David C. Joseph announced, pleaded guilty to one count of making false statements in connection with immigration documents, while Sobaeh pleaded guilty to one count of marriage fraud. Olubodun, on his part, to one count of making false statements in connection with immigration documents and mail fraud.

The indictment stated that the defendants were involved in the scheme from June 2013 to 2018. They had used F-1 student and B-2 visitor visas to enter the United States and while here, entered into fraudulent marriages to stay in the United States.

They were said to have recruited and paid United States citizens to enter into sham marriages in order to evade immigration laws and procure immigration benefits to which they were not entitled.

“The defendants filled out immigration forms and supplemental documents using false information, and they forged immigration forms and supplemental documents that they mailed to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). They also attended USCIS interviews where they made false statements under oath in an effort to evade immigration laws,”
the charges read.

Adejumo, Sobaeh, and Olubodun, who are residents in Grambling, La.; Fort Worth, Texas; and Houston, Texas, respectively, all pleaded guilty to the charges before U.S. District Judge Terry Doughty.

They were the first of 17 suspects, who were charged by a federal grand jury in May for being involved in the marriage fraud scheme, to admit guilt. Other defendants (Nigerians) who are scheduled to face trial on February 11, 2019, are named as: John Femi Egunjobi, 34; Talatu Helen Dada, 38; Oludayo Folarin Olayinka, 38; James Ojo Ayodele, 49; Precillia Asabe Dada, 53; Cecilia Joseph Akpan, 55; Tiimaro Smart Ekanem, 26; Abiola Esther Olaniyi, 26; Paul Allele Edeki, 40; Funmilade I. Oyetunji, 26; Olorunwa James Akinseloyin, 41.

The defendants, if found guilty, face up to five years in prison for the conspiracy count, 10 years in prison for the false statements count, 20 years in prison for the mail fraud count, five years in prison for the marriage fraud count and two years in prison for the identity theft count.
They also face restitution, forfeiture, three to five years of supervised release and a $250,000 fine for each count. The court has set sentencing for February 6, 2019.

President Donald Trump’s cellphone conversations are being intercepted by Russia and China to gather information on his associates and policy positions.

According to a report by NYT, the discovery was made by White House officials who were alerted by individuals working within these foreign governments. However, the names of the White House officials and individuals working within these foreign governments have remained anonymous for security reasons.

They said the Chinese have determined a list of contacts with whom the president speaks most frequently. The president keeps two official iPhones with modifications by the National Security Agency, and a third personal phone for personal contacts, White House officials said, but using any cell phone poses some risk.

The report indicated Trump prefers using his cell phones over the White House’s more secure landline. China has sought to use the information to form ties with Trump’s associates or “friends of the Trump friends” to ensure Beijing’s views will be delivered to the president, according to the officials cited in the report.

Two men named in the report were businessmen Stephen A. Schwarzman and
Steve Wynn , who both have dealings in China.
Russia does not monitor the president’s phone conversations to the extent of China because of Trump’s supposed affinity for Russian President Vladimir Putin. But Trump’s aides have reportedly warned that Russian spies are “routinely eavesdropping” on his calls, the report said.

Following the sudden resignation of former President Mulatu Teshome on Wednesday, Ethopia's parliament has appointed a new president. The role has been given to Ms Zewde Sahle-Work, an experienced diplomat who most recently held a position with the United Nations.

Her election to the ceremonial position comes a week after Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed, appointed a cabinet with half the posts taken up by women. In her acceptance speech, President Sahle-Work spoke about the importance of maintaining peace. She was voted in after the unexpected resignation of her predecessor, Mulatu Teshome yesterday October 24th.

Teshome, who has been the East African country’s head of state since October 2013, submitted his letter of resignation to the Ethiopian parliament’s two houses. In the Ethiopian constitution, the post of president is ceremonial with the prime minister holding the political power.

The leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, Nnamdi Kani, has denied plans to work with the PDP to kick President Buhari out of office in 2019.

FFK in a Tweet yesterday said he spoke with the secessionist group leader who resurfaced in Israel last week Friday and they have both agreed to work together to vote out President Buhari.

However, in a swift reaction, Kanu’s lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor and his deputy, Alphonsus Uche Okafor-Mefor, debunked FFK's claim. In a statement released to The Sun, Ejimakor said although Kanu had spoken with Fani-Kayode yesterday, he never discussed issues concerning 2019 general elections.

“As Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s Special Counsel, he has been frequently speaking with me from his location in Israel in the past few days. I want to make it abundantly clear to all that Nnamdi Kanu’s brief chat with Chief Fani-Kayode earlier today (yesterday) did not include anything close to agreeing to ‘work together with Fani-Kayode to vote out Buhari”, Ejimakor said.

In another statement, IPOB’s deputy leader, Okafor-Mefor said.

“Our attention has been drawn to some deceptive and crude tactics employed by some politicians to drag the name of our leader, Nnamdi Kanu to the mud by suggesting that he held talks with such politicians to oust Muhammadu Buhari. We want to use this medium to state unequivocally that at no time did Nnamdi Kanu reached any agreement with any politician to participate in Nigerian politics.

Consequently, any publication not authorised by our leader, his deputy or by the Head Directorate of State regarding IPOB and/or our leader is pedestrian and null and void. Nnamdi Kanu is on a divine mission to restore Biafra and the resolve behind this restoration project remains irrevocable, sacrosanct and irreversible.”
