hajarahbadmus:
In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful

All praises are for Allah SWT, the most Compassionate, the most Forgiving.

Salutations and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad SAW, his family and companions.

Oh Allah, I submit myself to You.

I realise that parenting a child is a very difficult task and I turn to You in humility for Your help.

I implore You for Your wisdom and guidance.

Oh Allah, I know that our children are an amaanat from You, to care for and to raise in a manner that is pleasing to You.

Help me do that in the best way.

Teach me how to love in a way that You would have me love.

Help me where I need to be healed, improved, nurtured, and made whole.

Help me walk in righteousness and integrity so that You may always be pleased with me.

Allow me to be a God-fearing role model with all the communication, teaching, and nurturing skills that I may need.

Oh Allah, You know what our children need. Help and guide us in praying for our children.

Oh Allah, put a hedge of safety around our children. Protect their bodies, minds, and emotions from any kind of evil and harm.

Oh Allah, I pray that You protect them from accidents, diseases, injuries, and any other physical, mental, or emotional afflictions and abuse.

Oh Allah, I pray that You keep our children free from any addictions and vices.

Draw them close to You for protection from every ill and evil influence of our society, whether it’s apparent to us or not.

Oh Allah, grant them the best of company as their friends — people who will inspire them to love and worship and obey You.

Oh Allah, grant our children hidaaya and a heart that loves to obey You.

Shine Your light on any secret or unseen rebellion in their hearts and destroy it before it takes root.

Oh Allah, guide them away from any pride, selfishness, jealousy, hypocrisy, malice, and greed and make them uncomfortable with sins.

Penetrate their hearts with Your love and reverence today and always.

Oh Allah, make apparent to them the truth in any situation and let them not be misled by falsehood.

Oh Allah, grant our children the ability to make clear decisions and let them always be attracted to good things that are pure, noble, true, and just.

Oh Allah, guide them in making choices that please You.

Oh Allah, help them to taste the sweetness of walking with a humble spirit in obedience and submission to You.

Oh Allah, grant them the wisdom to choose their words carefully and bless them with a generous and caring spirit.

Oh Allah, I pray that they never stray from the path of deen and that You give them a future filled with Your best promises.

Oh Allah, always keep our children cleansed and pure from evil and shaytaan.

Oh Allah, keep them steadfast in establishing Salaah and help them revere the Glorious Quran as Your Word and Law and to read it with understanding daily. Let it be their source of light and guidance.

Oh Allah, let our daughters love wearing hijab and our sons the dress of a humble Muslim.

Let their dress be a representation of their Imaan and of their love and respect for Your commands.

Lead them to a position where they rely truly on Your power alone and fear You in the open and in secret.

Oh Allah, make them so strong in their deen that they never encounter doubt.

Oh Allah, do not allow any negative attitudes in the place of our children’s lives.

Oh Allah, guide our children in honouring and obeying You, Your Rasool (peace be upon him), and us as parents (when we are commanding that which is pleasing to You).

Make them the coolness of our eyes.

Oh Allah, fill our children with compassion and caring that will overflow to each member of our family.

Oh Allah, grant them piety.

Oh Allah, help them love, value, appreciate, and respect one another with good communication between them always.

Oh Allah, drive out any division between our children and bring them healing.

I pray there be no strain, breach, misunderstanding, arguing, fighting, or severing of ties.

Oh Allah, grant them righteous, God-fearing, kind, hard-working, intelligent, beautiful, healthy spouses who get along with and respect and love (and genuinely enjoy) every member of our family and who lead our children (i.e. their spouses) even closer to You and Jannat ul Firdaus.

Oh Allah, please grant me the company of pious friends, relatives, extended community members, and teachers who will be inspirational role models for my children and will help me raise them to be the best of believers.

Oh Allah, please don’t let me become self-satisfied and arrogant in my parenting, but please don’t humble me or shame me through my children’s misdeeds either. Please let me always give credit for their good character to You and please don’t ever let me stop praying for them.

Oh Allah, please don’t let my children be “late” in meeting any of life’s milestones that are expected of them.

Oh Allah, protect my children from debt. Make them givers and not takers.

Oh Allah, grant my children noble professions with halal incomes that give them respect and dignity in Your Eyes and in the eyes of their fellow human beings.

Oh Allah, grant them worldly comfort so that my children can come to You through the Door of Gratitude and so that they are not forced to come to You through the Door of Patience. Please let them always be grateful…and patient.

Oh Allah, I pray for a close, loving, happy and fulfilling relationship with them for all the days of our lives and to be reunited with them in Jannat ul Firdaus.

Amin

jumah mubarak mamas.

PabloAfricanus. and Rossikk. Your debates has been an eye opener and quite enlightening. Very objective I must say, though I'm not choosing side because I'm lacking in knowledge in this regard ; Please with your vast knowledge of African history could you share your resources with willing students like me. I'm so much in hunger of what our fore fathers life was before and during the colonial era.
And to the question of how the Colonist were able to subdue our land, I think its because of the rife and lack of trust between the various tribe then. for instance there were always at war with one another.

Christianity EtcRe: The Story Of Bilal Or Bilaal by edrys(m): 8:21pm On Sep 17, 2015
gatiano:
Our story/Our history goes back into several trillions of years, and according to Our Elders, it goes back into several universes. Thus, it can not be written in books or fully told or narrated by mouth with missing somethings up. There are those who have been given the task of keep a lot of these historical information among our Elders, they are called "Griots" and there are those who are choosen to guard the Griots.

Just like the tales in the popular series called "once upon a time"

One of the many reasons, if not the basic reasons why we have several tribes. Our Elders knew even before the invaders thought of invading Us, So They couldn't just put all the historical information, metallurgical sciences, mathematics etc on just one person, They had to find a group of people who they gave seperate knowledge. Each of these went different ways creating new identities and worth not. They were however permitted to always learn from one another, but with a strict rule of not copying one another.

So How can we get the entire truth if no Man can write it all or say it all? We have to be educated in the highest level which is the African Education. Keep in mind that most of the greek scholars that these modern people praised are all trained in Africa, also note that most of the Bible and Quran Prophets were also trained in Africa.

Other races needs to be educated. The African/Blackman and Blackwoman need to just remember. We just need to remember through rituals and initiations.

I do not know much yet about Oduduwa, But in my own opinion as of yet, Oduduwa is not a One person's name. It is a title, or A leader who leads a people from one place into another place where nobody is staying. Abraham/Ibrahim can be considered as Oduduwa, Moses may not fit that description because, his followers must have to be brave to enter the promise land and perhaps that biblical history is infact a prophesy.

Oduduwa personalities would also mean a builder of a civilization, that is why He/She is found in all Black tribes but as different names, and is also Male to some people and Female to another.

Gatiano your messages always make me think twice but at a time all becomes muddled up. I will like to know the story/myth of how Oduduwa left Mecca to Ile-Ife(if Bilal is a black man, they could be a link I think). Likewise if you can link me up with books, links to read further.

PoliticsRe: America Has Refused To Sell Weapons To Buhari by edrys(m): 12:45pm On Jul 23, 2015
Amya:
Nope!

The U.S's interest in Nigeria is way bigger than the gay laws everyone seems to be talking about! It's not about the oil either (a little part is though). Nigeria is the only country in Africa that has the makings of a world power. Population, check. Natural resources, check. diversity check.

Now, what people don't understand is that Nigeria's present backwardness and underdevelopment has been artificially engineered by the west post independence to keep us perpetually underdeveloped (I will not go into details). Inflicting such condition on countries that have potential for greatness greatly increases the powers of the suppressors (the west). They sincerely don't want any good for Nigeria cause it affects their own economy. For example, Nigeria is the junkyard of Millions of American used cars, with the automotive policy put in place by GEJ and the high import tariffs put in place for used cars, that will mean a loss of billions of dollars of revenue for the U.S. It's not restricted to cars, but everything! So don't you think they'd fight any genuine development that may be coming our way?

I've said it time and time again, America is the sponsor of boko haram! They seek to destabilize this country just so we'd never really grow.

One reason why I had great respect for GEJ was refused to be used as a puppet and he refused to bow to their wishes of making Nigeria their dumping ground. He knew what he was doing, but Nigerians didn't. They crucified him when he was only looking out for Nigerians. He said one day Nigerian will realise what they had and miss him. That day would most definitely come.

There's something that PMB did which I like though. He asked to purchase weapons and he didn't ask them to come and fight boko haram on our behalf which is the open invitation America is looking for so they'd come and completely destroy Nigeria.
From all assertions, it seems there is something great about Nigeria that the West is trying to subdue...unfortunately we don't even know how Big we are or what they are after.

Seems no one wants to answer
If you follow the chronological of event. What would you have done in that circumstance? Give up, blame the causer of the problem(Ibrahim asw), give up on your faith or use faith where the hope of surviving is only by a miracle? The lesson which everyone of us must learn from the story is never to lose FAITH 'IMAN' in Allah when face with life trials and problem. (This is what Muslim still uphold during hajj) We should be resilient in the face of hardship and should not renounce our convinction in Allah when tempted. Thank you OP cos you make me pay attention to d significance of what must have happened to Hagar while she was distressed but she kept faith hoping that Allah will send help which He eventually sent through Angel Jubril.

plainbibletruth:
All that you are still doing is to state that you do what you do today because your prophets and people of old did it.

The question you're yet to answer is: why did they do it?
Why did Hagar run between two mountains?
Is running between two mountains of any significance to you, if so how?
What benefit is there in doing this and other rituals?

Yes your forebears did it, but for what purpose? Simply stating that you do it because they did it doesn't answer the 'why?'.
I rarely post on nl but this time I can't hold the urge. The answer to your questions are still of no use to you cos it shows evidently that you are not interested in whatever the answer or explanation given despite quoting from the hadith or Qur'an. We have proof of what we do in the Qur'an, Tafsir of the Quran, Sunnah and Hadith of the Prophet(pbuh). Can you give us a proof of where it is written in the Bible that you should celebrate Easter, Boxing day and Christmas(don't give me the story of the three wise men). And please stop quoting from different versions of d bible.

What does islam mean when it says something is a "symbol of allah" ?
When did it become a symbol?was it a symbol when the before hagar ran accross it seven times?
Why is it a symbol?

On ishmeals age issue
According to islam and their religious books , What was ishmaels age or age range as at the time he left with his mother?

Why did hagar leave with her son?

Who was the son abraham wanted to sacrifice, Isaac or Ishmael. ?
If its Ishmael, was he still a baby at that time?

On the cresent moon issue.
Does islam condemn the use of that symbol to represent islam? Is the use of that symbol Islamic?

I want or prefer a sincere , non abusive person to answer my questions.

Lastly , pls I need further explanation on how pagans misplaced/missed/changed/forgot the God they where serving with that ritual but did not actually misplace/miss/change/forget the process of that ritual.
You are not seeking the truth Bro. cos you already made up your mind not to learn or see anything good in Islam. Mind you, how was it possible for the Isrealite to carve a golden calf when Moses (ASW) went up the mount to collect the 10 commandments despite the fact that God led and help them to overcome their adversary on the way to promise land.
