PoliticsRe: Osinbajo 'The Greatest Winner' Of APC Convention – Senator Abubakar Girei by eeetuk(m): 10:26pm On Jun 14, 2022
"A member of the All Progressives Congress’ Election Management Committee at the just-concluded Special National Convention of the party, Senator Abubakar Girei, has claimed that the actual winner of the contest is Vice President Yemi Osinbajo."

Partially true!
Bola Tinubu emerged as a winner for many reasons. (1), he bought all the votes he got. (2), Mr. Tinubu smeared VP Osinbayo for one or two months without VP Osinbayo returning fire. Even other contestants failed to expose Mr. Tinubu. He--Mr. Tinubu really got away with murder by smearing his opponents for nothing. Mr. Osinbayo should have called Tinubu a liar for claiming that he (Tinubu) was the reason Osinbayo became VP, but he did not. (3) Voters like fighters and Mr. Osinbayo is not a fighter. He should have fought back by exposing Mr. Tinubu corrupt past. (4) VP Osinbayo did not want to buy votes because of fear it would look bad on him and Buhari administration. That in my view was a big mistake. In politics, you will never get elected unless you spend money. (5) VP Osinbayo is the first person in a highly anticipated election--who failed to trash his opponents. He played gentleman game--that was really stupid in my view.

So, if VP Osinbayo and other contestants in APC primary election had exposed Mr. Tinubu corrupt past and challenged some of his smear's tactics, Mr. Tinubu would have lost that election. Instead, he got a free ride all the way. Terrible in my view!

Oilwell "Today, Nigerians are hungry, poor and sick. The majority of Nigerians are below d poverty line. Many have no access to good medicare. These issues cut across all tribes and cultures.

How do we solve the problem? How do we arrest the steady descent into hunger, poverty and sickness? Do we vote for the person who will likely win or do we vote to change the narrative? If u vote for the person who will likely win, but whom u know will not deliver, that makes u PUBLIC ENEMY NUMBER ONE because u are joining hands with our oppressors."

You and I are asking the questions and looking for similar solutions--based on the questions you asked above. But the problem is Peter Obi is not the right person to address these problems. He keeps running from one party to another every year. Nonsense. That shows he is not a steady person. Helping Atiku Abubakar to win in 2023 is the solution. Ibos need good roads in their communities. Ibos need good paying jobs to send their kids to schools, pay rent, put food on the table for families. I think Atiku Abubakar victory in 2023 will address all these needs than a definite defeat currently undertaking by peter Obi.

Peter Obi Bandwagon is Fake and PDP Should Not Buy His Propaganda Game.
By eeetuk

Peter Obi is irrelevant in Nigeria politics. His choice by Atiku Abubakar in 2019 handed President Buhari his re-election victory. Mr. Atiku Abubakar was going to win Southeast whether peter Obi was on the ticket or not. But for the wrong advice by Ibos, he selected Mr. Obi as his running mate—resulting in a blowout loss to President Buhari. If Atiku Abubakar picked Ibo man or woman as his running mate for 2023 presidential election, he will meet the same faith like last time—a blowout defeat. I have history on my side to back up my position here. And for that, look this picture:
1)In 2003, Mohammadu Buhari and Chuba Okadigbo presidential ticket vs OBJ resulted a blowout loss to OBJ. And in fact, that ticket only got 5% of total votes in general election
2) in 2011, Mohammadu Buhari and Edwin Ume Ezeeoke presidential ticket vs Goodluck Jonathan ticket resulted in a blowout loss, getting only 18 % of general election votes
3) in 2019, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi vs Mohammadu Buhari lost in a blowout.again.

Atiku Abubakar problem
Mr. Atiku Abubakar problem is he does not listen.
One of the problems that has made Atiku Abubakar unable to win presidential election in Nigeria, he pays too much attention to Ibos propaganda---a claim that only Ibos can solve this or that problems. It is a big lie.

What is the success story in Southeast—which can be used to rebuild Nigeria? I am yet to see one.
And to the contrary, it is the opposite. Southeast is a disaster.

Since the Nigerian civil war ended in 1970, Ibos have made foreign import their main priority. The situation got worser after President Obasanjo appointed Ngozi Iweala as Nigerian finance minister in 2003. The problem with the appointment of Ngozi Iweala was she gave over 80% of import licenses to Ibos. And as a result, Southeast states government abandoned building roads, developing land, building bridges and investing in infrastructures development in favor of import. Import is the number one job killer. Import puts money in the hands of importer—leaving the rest of citizens very poor. That is why Nigeria has a widen gap between rich and poor. And in fact, the United Nations has long said that the widen gap between rich and poor in Nigeria is alarming—urging the Nigerian government to do something to close the gap.

Today, Southeast is deserted. Ibos have migrated from Southeast to Lagos, Abuja, and many states in South/south in search of better lives. The principal cause here is the rising import business in Southeast geopolitical zone.

Peter Obi bandwagon!
Peter Obi was Atiku Abubakar running mate in 2019 presidential election against President Mohammadu Buhari—a ticket which lost in a blowout. Today, Peter Obi is no longer in PDP. He left PDP after he found out, he has no chance of picking PDP presidential ticket to represent the party in 2023 presidential election. According to report, Mr. Peter Obi is flying Labor Party presidential ticket for 2023 presidential election.

So, I am looking at the entire map of Nigeria below, and I am asking myself this question: where can Peter Obi win a state?

The honest answer is none. Mark my word, Peter Obi will not win a single state in Nigeria and that includes Southeast. Southeast is not for one ibo man. The zone is for over 20 million people. So, when election time comes, Ibos are going to choose between their pocket book issues and Peter Obi presidential ticket. By pocket book issues---I mean how Ibos are going to pay rent, put food on the table for family, day in and out, helping their kids go to schools, buying clothes to wear and more. For these reasons, Ibos are going to vote PDP over Peter Obi because PDP victory in 2023 will address pocket book issues for most Ibos.

The southwest will never vote for a ticket—which has Ibo man or woman as its presidential candidate or running mate. Same is true for South/South and the entire Northern Nigeria states.

So, my humble advice to Mr. Atiku Abubakar, don’t pick me as your running mate. Pick some one outside Southeast. Do you hear me?

Fellow Nigerians, what is your view?

PoliticsRe: Osinbajo: Africa Must Collaborate Globally To Gain From International Taxation by eeetuk(m): 7:51am On Jun 14, 2022
"Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, says Africa needs to deepen cooperation and collaboration with the rest of the world to enjoy maximum benefit from international taxation initiatives."

I agree 100%!
But tax as a means of generating revenues is new to Nigeria and some African countries, and not to Europe, America and other part of world. Nigeria has never taped into the idea of taxation as a means of generating revenues to support long deay infrastructures development in the country. That is because we have long falling in love with oil money. What happens when oil wells are dried out?

Tax policy is the area I will recommend to states government in Nigeria. It is the only way to get Nigerians out of poverty. We can use tax revenues to build houses for people with low income to live. We can use tax revenues to build roads and bridges. We can use tax revenues to build and provide good education for our children. Streets and roads in Nigeria are dirty and in terrible state. Tax policy if totally perused, it can be used to fix these problem ----making Nigerians to live healthier and better lives like those in European countries.

But why is vice president Osinbayo bringing this idea up now with less than one year left in his office?
People love to talk when they have no power than when they have power to do something. That is what I think VP Osinbayo wants to do after leaving offic. He will go around the country to blame incoming administration for not investing in tax idea. Hypocrite !
PoliticsThe Man Atiku Abubakar Should Pick As His Running Mate Is? by eeetuk(op): 12:07pm On Jun 13, 2022
The Man Atiku Abubakar Should Pick as His Running Mate is?
By eeetuk

Reports from social media and newspapers in Nigeria suggest PDP presidential candidate for 2023 presidential election, Mr. Atiku Abubakar is closed to naming his running mate. That makes me want to offer him this advice: Please don’t rush. Selecting a running mate is the most important decision a candidate for an election makes for the country and himself. That is because your choice tells Nigerians and the whole world whether you can make a good decision or not.

So, before selecting a running mate, do opposition research on that individual to discover something that can embarrass you about your running mate. You will not be elected if your running mate has some dirt in his or her records. Remember that selecting a running mate is the most important decision you make for the country. That is how people are going to judge you—going forward.

That said, Nigeria presidential election in 2023 is for PDP to lose unless the flagbearer, Mr. Atiku Abubakar makes wrong decisions. All the metrics for winning election are in favor of PDP:

The current President of Nigeria, Mohammad Buhari is a disaster. Since assuming office in 2015, economic growth which has been on steady recovery since 1999 is in total collapse stage. Unemployment rate has skyrockets to 60 %, according to recent report by the UN. Nigeria is no longer safe to live. Kidnapping of school children and ordinary citizens is uncontrollable. Militancy group in the northern Nigeria, Boko Haram has killed over 500,000 Nigerians in 6 years of Buhari presidency and displayed over 10 million Nigerians. University of Jos—located in the state of plateau has just shut down its institution because of rising kidnapping and killings of students. Nigerian Defense Academy—an institution which trained Nigerian military officers is not even safe for students to attend school. A year ago, students were reported killed and others kidnapped were later reported killed. Nigeria needs a new leader now who can make good decision. Nigerians are totally dissatisfying with the way president Buhari is handling one crisis after the other. Buhari job approval is below 10 out 100, according recent online polls. The ruling party is not performing.

Without naming names, many names about who Mr. Atiku Abubakar might picked have begun to float around by opinion writers and more.
So, who will Mr. Abubakar select as his running mate?

Without a doubt, I take the position that if Mr. Atiku Abubakar wants to win 2023 presidency, the best candidate for the position of running mate is Umana Okon Umana.
Umana Okon Umana is currently the CEO and managing Director for oil and Gas zone authority in Nigeria. Since becoming CEO/MD, he has transformed the agency to the best managed and it is ranked number one in good management, according to latest government report.

And in 1999 to 2007, he was the commissioner for finance in Akwa Ibom State under Governor Victor Attah. While serving as a commissioner for finance, Mr. Umana uncovered and removed the names of thousands of ghost workers in the state payroll—saving the state billions in revenues. He also served as the secretary to Akwa Ibom State government with distinction and honor.

Unlike many Nigerians who used government to get rich, Mr. Umana honesty and integrity in the managing the affairs of government have never been questioned. Instead, he has received many praises and congratulatory messages in his role as a true government servant.

Under Mr Umana Okon Umana’s leadership, Nigeria will turn years of failures to success.

PoliticsRe: Ekweremadu Appointed Visiting Professor By University Of Lincoln, UK (Photos) by eeetuk(m): 1:08am On Jun 13, 2022
"Former deputy senate president, Senator Ike Ekweremadu has been appointed as Visiting Professor of Corporate and International Linkages by the University of Lincoln, United Kingdom, IGBERETV reports."

Congratulations to Senator Ike Ekweremadu for his new appointment. I must say with honesty, he deserves it.

I write to say that I don't always pay attention to senator Ekweremadu until i read one of his articles titled "Senator Ekweremadu's Honest Advice To The IGBOS On Legal And Other Issues Involved BIAFRA Agitation And Realization.". The purpose of this article was to advice IPOD members about the dangers of becoming an Independence nation and the difficulties of steps and procedures that would follow to become an Independence nation.

Senator Ekweremadu referenced Eritrea, East Timors and South Sudan as a case study. He noted one history about the struggle to gain independence by citing this example "I have followed incisive arguments on this matter and looked at the history of other secessionist efforts in other parts of the world. For example, about 43 years after it broke away from Cyprus in 1974, with the help of the Turkish Army, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (Northern Cyprus) is yet to be recognized as a sovereign nation by any nation because of lack of due process. The citizens can only travel with the passport of Turkey as citizens of Turkey, not Northern Cyprus. Today, there is widespread agitation by citizens of North Cyprus to be rejoined to Cyprus.

Yes, Senator Ekweremadu is a smart man. And i encourage every ibo person to read his article i cited above to learn something from the expert.
PoliticsRe: Full Speech Of President Buhari's Democracy Day, 2023 by eeetuk(m):
Nonsense speech!

I think it is harmful to listen to anything president Buhari says at this time. That is because his words don't have value. He wasted 8 years of our time doing nothing . His presidency turned out to be a curse than blessing. Look at how many Nigerians are dying everyday.

In thousands!
Rising crime rates, unemployments among all age groups have skyrocketed. Kidnapping of citizens makes the country unsafe to live. No border controls anywhere in Nigeria to protect the citizens. Terrorist groups --- which include Boko haram and ISWA have flourished under Buhari government.

Is that the kind person you want to listen to?
PoliticsRe: Wike Orders Prosecution Of Amaechi, Cole Over Alleged Sale Of Assets by eeetuk(m): 1:35am On Jun 11, 2022
"Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike has directed the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Prof. Zaccheaus Adangor to commence immediate prosecution of his predecessor and former Transport Minister, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, over alleged fraudulent sale of state assets and diversion of $50m."

Good job by Gov. Nyesom Wike. And i hope he succeeded in not only to bring up a charge against Mr. Rotomi Amaechi but also getting convictions out of it. The significance of getting Mr. Amaechi convicted is other states will follow. That is because many states governors have stolen money from state treasury on leaving office.

But if governor Wike fails, the outcome of this investigation will damage governor wike credibility for a very long time and hurt chances other states might follow. So, my advice to governor wike is please double check before going public because if the public determines that this investigation is witch hunting, many state governors will begin to steal more, and not less.
PoliticsRe: Atiku Abubakar To Name Wike As Running Mate - Tribune by eeetuk(m): 7:28am On Jun 09, 2022
"BARING any unforeseen developments, Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, may be named as the running mate to the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar. "

Picking a running mate is the most important first decision a presidential candidate makes. That is because it tells the whole world the kind of a person the presidential candidate is and what type of leadership he or she will provide for the country. For this reason, I am not sold on Gov. Wke as the right person for the job. Mr. Wike has temper problems. He has anger problem. He is too bombastic. He talks before thinking it through. Evidence of his erratic behavior was showing when he lost party primary to former vice president Mr. Atiku Abubakar.

Recall that soon after Gov. Wike lost party primary election, he went on the air criticizing southern governors and leaders in more embarrassing ways. He called their behavior shameful. And many public statements he threatened retaliation.

So, my advice to vice president Atiku Abubakar is don't rush. It will be too costly if you do. Removing APC party from power should trump the need to rush to pick a bad running mate.
PoliticsIs Rotomi Amaechi A New Hero? by eeetuk(op): 3:19am On Jun 09, 2022
How did Amaechi get more votes than VP Osinbayo?

Dear Nigerians,
Amaechi got 316 votes out of over 2,000 votes, and to some people that is relevant. Please say it again!
People, 316 out of 2000 plus votes is a failing grade in school or workplace.

When Mr. Rotomi Amaechi was a transportation minister, he took money from the ministry of transportation to build schools and roads in katsina state. He did that because he thought President Buhari was going to reward him with presidency of Nigeria. Very laughable!

If i was not a Nigerian and i am reading comments from Nigerian embracing Amaechi perform, I would come across Nigerians as stupid people.
Mr. Amaechi is a failure---his polling results reflect that. He should be shamed out of the room. And i am glad he was.

Why did president Buhari ask some aspirants to drop out of the race to trim down the number of contestants?
That hurts vice president Osinbayo chances. So, if vice president Osinbayo should lose this primary election, president Buhari has to be blamed for it. That is just my view.

Does anyone has a different view?

"AHMED BOLA TINUBU
If the primary will be without external intervention, Tinubu is the man to beat. This is because of his political structure and war chest. He was the first in APC to openly declare his presidential interest, which he said had been his “lifetime ambition”. He also started reaching out to delegates earlier than the others and covered more grounds than the rest, although questions are still being asked about his health and the possibility of a Muslim-Muslim ticket if he wins"

Very biased report!
Nigerians should vote on pocket book issues, not exchanging money for votes. What will Mr. Tinubu do about rising insecurity in the country? What would Mr. Tinubu do about bad roads and bridges in Nigeria if elected? What would Mr. Tinubu do about rising unemployments in Nigeria if elected? What would Mr. Tinubu do about illegal oil bunkering all over Nigeria if elected?

Mr. Tinubu has been campaigning for president all his life, but he is yet to address any of these issues. Instead, he has gone around the country talking about how much money he got. Thank God election is contest of ideas---and that means voters will look what candidates for president haved offered and decided on the best candidate.

APC voters in my view should choose vice president Osinbayo over Tinubu because Tinubu has no experience in running the country. He is a sicked man. If elected Mr. Tinubu will be in UK hospital everyday-- wasting another 4 years of our time.
PoliticsRe: APC Presidential Election: Breakdown Of National Delegates by eeetuk(m):
Don't believe this polling numbers. The numbers allocated to some aspirants are so dishonest. For an example, Godswill Akpabio is projected to Win all 93 delegate votes from Akwa Ibom state-- which I think it is a big lie.

All Akwa Ibom state delegates should go to vice president Osinbayo.
But Wil see!
PoliticsI Have Not Endorsed Any Presidential Candidate, Buhari ‘tells’ Northern APC Gove by eeetuk(op): 1:35am On Jun 07, 2022
UPDATED: I have not endorsed any presidential candidate, Buhari ‘tells’ Northern APC governors
The APC governors will meet again Monday evening for further deliberations.
ByKabir Yusuf June 6, 2022 3 min read
President Muhammadu Buhari has told Northern APC governors that he has not endorsed any of the 23 aspirants seeking to be the presidential candidate of the APC, an official has said.

PREMIUM TIMES reported that President Buhari met with the Northern APC governors at the State House, Abuja, Monday afternoon.

Garba Shehu, Mr Buhari’s media adviser, said in a statement that the president has “no preferred candidate,” and has “anointed no one,” as the presidential candidate of the governing APC.

Mr Shehu said the president had a clear mind and was determined to ensure that “there shall be no imposition of any candidate on the party.”

The statement quoted Mr Buhari as saying: “You were elected as I was. Have a clear mind as I have. God gave us the chance; we have no reason to complain. We must be ready to take pain as we take the joy. Allow the delegates to decide. The Party must participate, nobody will appoint anybody,”

Briefing journalists after the meeting, the Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, disclosed that the president directed governors of APC-controlled states to meet with the National Working Committee of the party, to fine-tune modalities for the selection of the presidential flag bearer of APC.

“The president told us that for the APC presidential primaries, he has no anointed candidate and therefore directed that the Progressive Governors’ Forum meet with the National Working Committee of the party to agree and proffer further solutions and recommendations for his successor.

“And based on his directive, the Chairman of Progressive Governors’ Forum has summoned a meeting for 5:00 (local time) today, after which we will make further suggestions to the President,” Mr Lalong added.

The Plateau governor added that the governors were at the Presidential Villa to apologise to the president because they met at the weekend and took a position to support the power shift to the southern part of the country in the spirit of fairness but before they could convey their position to the president, the matter got leaked.

“For emphasis, those of you who read it, I have a copy of what we wrote, which was already out of press, and I said we wrote it and we stand by it; that in the interest of unity, in the interests of peace, we recommended that and also justice, our recommendation is that the next president should come from the south.

“I told you that the president believes in democratic process, but even during democratic process, there are consultations, there is consensus, and it is also part of democratic process. Even our constitution provides for that; it says consensus and then election, either direct or indirect.

“So, what we’re doing is part of the build-up towards the election. What we’re also saying is recommendation as we think that will bring out a very peaceful process,” Mr Lalong said.

Also speaking, the Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu, said the stance of the northern PDP governors that power should shift to the south was for fairness.

“We looked at the totality of the issues in our country and we believe APC with a President that has delivered democratic dividends across the breadth of the country and 22 Governors, has everything going for it.

“What is the political brinkmanship that we need to bring so that every component of Nigeria will feel important. It is to allow opportunity for other parts of the country. And this is a step that will bring more peace and resonate with every part of Nigeria,” he said.

In his comment, the Kaduna State Governor, Nasiru El-Rufai, said out of the 14 governors of APC states in Northern Nigeria, only one, that of Kogi State, who is also an aspirant, disagreed with their position of zoning the presidency to the south.

“There are 14 APC governors out of the 19 Northern states. 13 of us are on one page on this subject and we all came to see the President, but the governor of Kogi State excused himself and it is within his democratic rights to excuse himself.

“But 12 out of 14 is a supermajority. 13 out of 14 is an even bigger supermajority and the 13 of us met with the President today. What our leader has communicated to you is a summary of the discussions with Mr President.”

I disagree!
Where is the evidence?
The system of producing the President of Nigeria is election by Nigerian people, not fishing expedition. Describing Nigerian president as a southern or Northern person is an act of bigotry. Nigerian people should reject such characterization, period.

Besides, what is 1999 constitution supposed to do? When the constitution of Nigeria was written, both Northern and Southern Nigerians wrote and approved it. The notion that the Nigeria should do away with the constitution because it does not produce a southern president is like trying to change the goalpost in the middle of the game. And i reject that. I hope all Nigerians should reject that as well.

So, my argument is to follow the steps stated in the 1999 constitution of Nigeria to produce the president or return the country to military rule, ASAP. No zoning and No Southern president, period. President Buhari should never give in into demand by some illiterate southerners to undermine the constitution of Nigeria.

The significant of this development is you cannot trust Muslims and especially those from Northern Nigeria. They are intolerance. A few years ago, over 100 people were killed when a Christian woman dropped holy Koran on the floor.

This begs the question: What is it about religion that makes people want to take lives of other people?
Very senseless killings!

I mean does Bola Tinubu even know that Nigeria system of government is democracy?. Democracy is not a monarchy--hereditary head of state with life tenure. In democracy, citizens go to the polls to choose who their leader will be.

I pray PDP flagbearer, Atiku Abubakar is taking notes of what Mr. Tinubu is saying because it does appear President Buhari is planning a fake election in 2023 to transfer power and to keep power in APC. You cannot trust President Buhari. He might have promised Mr. Tinubu a power transfer just to get Yorubas votes in 2015 and 2019.

So, my advice to Atiku Abubakar and PDP is to peruse the possibility of fake election in 2023 by APC to stay in power. One way to avoid fake elections by APC is reading what Bola Tinubu has made public now---that President Buhari has an agreement with Bola Tinubu to transfer power to him in 2023. That keeps the world to know what is going to happen and call President Buhari to order.

"A Metal Scavenger was mercilessly beaten by residents after he was allegedly caught with three generators suspected to be stolen in Bayelsa, Reports."

A product of lawless Nation!
You will never see a jungle justice in lawful countries. When you find laws such looting and stealing broken, citizens call in the police. The police are better trained to handle crimes of all types, not civilians. That is why i am condemning the beating of this suspected thief.

Ukraine war: Hungry Africans are victims of the conflict, Macky Sall tells Vladimir Putin
Published3 hours ago

Russia-Ukraine war
Macky Sall and Vladimir Putin met to discuss Russian grain supplies

Macky Sall said Africa was suffering from the Ukraine war
African countries are innocent victims of the war in Ukraine and Russia should help ease their suffering, the head of the African Union has told Vladimir Putin at a meeting in Russia.

After talks in Sochi, Macky Sall said the Russian leader had promised to ease the export of cereals and fertiliser, but gave no details.

Mr Putin denied Moscow was preventing Ukrainian ports from exporting grain.

Over 40% of wheat consumed in Africa usually comes from Russia and Ukraine.

But Ukraine's ports in the Black Sea have been largely blocked for exports since the conflict began. Kyiv and its allies blame Moscow for blockading the ports, which Ukraine has mined to prevent a Russian amphibious assault.

"Failure to open those ports will result in famine," the UN's crisis coordinator Amin Awad said in Geneva.

He said a grain shortage could affect 1.4 billion people and trigger mass migration.

The war has exacerbated already existing shortages in Africa caused by bad harvests and insecurity.

Food prices have shot up across the continent since Russia invaded Ukraine 100 days ago, pushing huge numbers towards hunger.

The head of the World Food Programme, Mike Dunford, said more than 80 million people were acutely food insecure, acutely hungry in Africa - up from about 50 million people this time last year.

Chad has declared a national food emergency. A third of the population needs food aid, according to the UN and the government has appealed for international assistance.

Mr Sall, who is Senegal's president, told Mr Putin he should be "aware that our countries, even if they are far from the theatre [of action], are victims of this economic crisis".

He said he was also pleading on behalf of other countries in Asia, the Middle East and Latin America.

Mr Putin said Russia was ready to guarantee the safe export of Ukrainian grain via ports on the Azov and Black seas it controls. He said the best solution would be to lift sanctions on Belarus, a close Russian ally, so the grain could be shipped that way.

Some analysts argue the Kremlin is hoping that a looming food crisis will put political pressure on the West by provoking big new refugee flows towards Europe from food-insecure countries in the Middle East and Africa.

Before Friday's meeting, Mr Putin said he was always on the side of Africa, but didn't explicitly mention the continent's food crisis.

Like many African countries, Senegal has avoided taking sides in the conflict and the Senegalese leader also said food supplies should be "outside" the West's sanctions on Russia. He said he had made this point when he spoke to the European Council earlier in the week.

Last Friday, US President Joe Biden dismissed the idea that the West bore responsibility for the global price rises.

"This is a Putin price hike. Putin's war has raised the price of food because Ukraine and Russia are two of the world's major bread baskets for wheat and corn, the basic product for so many foods around the world," he said.

Bola Tinubu is hurting!
All because of president Buhari public endorsement of his vice president , Yemi Osinbayo!
Right now, it looks like it will take miracle for Bola Tinubu to defeat Mr. Osinbayo. So, Victory by Mr. Bola Tinubu over vice president Osinbayo can take down President Buhari and his government. I don't see Mr. Tinubu winning this APC primary election to represent APC in 2023 general elections. Honestly, I don't see it!

It is over for Bola Tinubu.

Why A’Ibom APC Nominates Akan Udofia As Guber Candidate, Chieftain Reveals
By TONY ITA ETIMWed, Jun 01, 2022

Honourable Eseme Eyiboh
The All Progressives Congress candidate for the Eket federal constituency in the just concluded primaries in Akwa Ibom state, Hon Eseme Eyiboh, has given reason why the party elected a person, who decamped recently from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as APC gubernatorial candidate for the 2023 general elections.

Eyiboh gave the reasons during a media interaction with members of the Correspondents' Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Akwa Ibom State Council.

The former lawmaker declared that Akan Udofia is coming to govern Akwa Ibom State with an Enterprise Development Instinct and is the best match for the PDP governorship candidate, Pastor Umo Eno, who is coming into politics with a business background.

According to Eyiboh, the 2023 governorship race in Akwa Ibom is going to be a well contested election because the candidates of the two leading parties are coming with business backgrounds from the private sector.

Eyiboh continued that the APC did not want to choose a candidate who has a poor public perception and those who have been in active politics since 1999 without impacting the people and point out what they have done in the state.

He boasted that the APC wants to jump start Akwa Ibom and Akan Udofia will reset it but not from a bureaucratic platform, and insisted that the candidate has stability of mind.

On the issue of parallel primaries that produced multiple candidates for the various positions, Eyiboh retorted, “Don't allow anybody to tell you that there were no gubernatorial primaries in Akwa Ibom. It took place. And it is the wish of the people that Akan Udofia is the governorship candidate.”

Eyiboh challenged who claimed they are APC candidates in the race to show evidence of their claims to victories during the primaries in the state.

On the internal crisis, divisions and infighting in Akwa Ibom APC, Eyiboh debunked, “So, if you want to know whether there are factions in APC, there is no faction in APC. Why there are no factions in APC is that there is only one APC headed by Alh. Abdullahi Adamu, and if you know any other one, you can bring him up.

"If you agree that the law recognizes that there is only one APC, whoever is delegated by the instrument of the APC is the agent of the APC. So,if you agree that Adamu is the national chairman of the party, what is the structure of APC in Akwa Ibom state?

"We have Austin Ekanem, and we have Stephen Ntuekpo, and the matter went to the federal high court. The court gave a judgement and the party headed by Abdullahi Adamu recognised the Stephen Ntuekpo-led exco by the judgement of the court. There is no other superior judgement. And after that he went ahead to admit him on oath as the chairman of the party.

"This is very clear. Other parties went to court even when they were not an interested party as it was at the court of first instance, the names and the persons were not mentioned. The party before the court is the court of first instance. So, the court of appeal is asking for the status quo to be maintained and what does that mean? Where were you before coming here?, where were they at the point of judgement at the federal high court?. So, Ntuekpo is the state chairman of the party because he was the one declared by the court.

"Whether the court did what it in good faith is not a subject for you and I to debate, it is a subject of appeal and unless a superior court of competent jurisdiction decides otherwise, any other who is doing it,is doing an ostrich dance in the theatre of the absurd'"

On his candidacy, Eyiboh explained that the APC primary which was conducted on May 27,2022, for the constituency, produced different outcomes as two other aspirants have also laid claim to victories following parallel primaries conducted in the constituency.

Eyiboh who was declared the winner in the contest challenged those laying claims to his victory to show which of the election committee panel conducted their primaries.

He replied his opponents that elections are not conducted with a piece of paper but with sensitive materials and ballot papers which are used in determining the authenticity of who is doing what

According to him" there was a panel constituted by the APC to go and conduct the primaries, where was the panel? And I hear people saying that there was a parallel primary, who had the team, the panel that came to conduct. That is the number one question and it's not a rhetorical question,it must be answered. Number two,who were the other people that conducted the other primaries?

" Do people just take a piece of paper and go and conduct primary?. No!, there are sensitive materials where results are recorded and announced. These are things you use in determining the authenticity of who is doing what.

"The panel who produced the results and the other sets of people who were holding a convention of undisclosed purpose, you don't even bother to find out what is the result of what they did, who conducted it, let them announce it and put the names of the panel who disclosed it. These are the things we need to be aware of. There is one APC, there was one primary conducted and there was a result"

The former parliamentarian who expressed confidence in his victory during the election also debunked insinuations that there are factions in the APC in the state.

Gov. Nyesom Wike visits PDP flagbearer for 2023 presidential election!

And you know why governor Wike has visited Atiku ?
I bet you Gov. wike visit to Atiku was aimed at lobbying for the vice presidential slot. I hope Mr. Atiku Abubakar is not foolish enough to offer Mr. wike that VP slot. No one running for nationwide election in Nigeria can win with Gov. Wike. Mr. wike has bad temper--which can lead to public fight in Nigeria and outside Nigeria. Here is a guy who criticized Mr. Atiku Abubakar minutes after he lost the election--a move associated with someone who has a bad temper and cannot control himself. Bad judgment by Mr. Atiku Abubakar over the past 20 years has made it impossible for Atiku to win a single national elections. One more single mistake by Mr. Atiku Abubakar will end his presidential election. So, say no to Gov. Nyesom wike as your running mate.
