The process was credible. There were pockets of problems here and there as expected but the effect of that is not more than 20%. The final outcome is a reflection of the true picture. The external monitors have also come up with the same verdict based on their own analysis.

There is nothing wrong with being "Hausa". The Hausas are just like every one of us. The problem is the wrongly oriented Nigerians. This problem has been fueled by poverty, illiteracy and retroactive practices. It is mostly a general Nigerian problem however, the north has some peculiarities in terms of certain retroactive practices and higher levels of illiteracy.

There is bound to be conflict in a country where two different laws exist for citizens within the same boundaries. The implementation of Sharia law in part of the country for example, is a perfect recipe for problems. There should be one (1) law to cover everybody; Christian or Muslim. If the current laws do not meet the needs of everyone, we should find a way to make it so. If we intend to move forward as one nation, that has to be the case else, there is no need to be together.

We must share a common ideology or have a good practice for managing interfaces where we do not agree. Everybody has to be treated the same way for equity and fairness to prevail.

Buhari is a traditional ruler without a throne. He is not fit to be a national leader.

Crisis Producing Citizens

I hope he also wept for the thousands of underage children that were used to commit electoral fraud. Right from a tender age, they have been taught how to cheat. What kind of future will they have? How will one fight corruption when it is imprinted in the child right from a tender age?

As expected, but what took him so long to take that decision? He had to exhibit his stubbornness at the expense of lives before doing the inevitable.

The people who voted GEJ are the people in those buildings and churches that were burned down. What about those who are part of the current  PDP government along with their families and associates. What about the local leaders who openly declared support for GEJ? These are also human beings and they voted. It is difficult for you to see because you allowed emotions to overwhelm you not knowing you had lost touch with reality.

Any issue about rigging should be addressed in the courts and not on the streets.

Great idea. If you can do it, please go ahead. Also, you can address one to the party leaders and state your position on this issue. Let them caution the local leaders in the affected states. Without those corpers, there will be no proper election on Tuesday.

FG has to impose sanctions on governors who cannot guarantee the safety of citizens under their care. If there is violence in your state, no NYSC for you.

Actually, there are sections for tribalism and crime. It is left for mods to dump all the tribalism and crime infested threads to where they belong. I support that.

CPC supporters. You guys really need to take up some responsibility on this northern violence issue. Why can't Bakare who should speak for his fellow Christians threaten to pull out of the party if the supporters do not behave themselves? Why can't the intelligent ones among you educate the illiterate ones out there and get them to stop causing mayhem? It is better we put out this flame together now before it escalates beyond control. Remember that everyone of us will lose if this continues.

I understand you and I wish it could be that simple. The problem is freedom of speech works either way. In the good times, it is there and in the bad times it is also there! People have to express themselves freely but within the rules of the forum. The death of many Nigerians is a very serious issue and cannot easily be overlooked. If nobody can cry out when it hurts, then there is no need for the forum.

Mods will keep doing their work as much as they can but they cannot really control the tone of the posters. That part comes from the heart.

I planned to take some time off immediately after the election but the violence on ground has glued me to it. We have to keep abreast of happenings as they happen. Things can happen really fast. If you cant handle it, I recommend you take some time off to the Romance or Jokes section because this section will keep boiling hot as far as the country is boiling.

It will not be an issue of GEJ anymore it will be about the great divide between N and S and between Christians and Muslims. That is one part of humans you do not touch without consequences. The election has drawn the line already, we just have to be wise enough to avoid escalating the conflict further.

We will only be thrown into a long drawn war. The international community will back GEJ and "the oil" and the world will have another Libya to contend with.

OP the posts on the forum only reflect of the mood of real Nigerians on ground!

They can never lead a united Nigeria. They can go ahead and form their own sharia country with the almajiris.

I am convinced that CPC is a terrorist movement. A facade for Boko Haram to operate as a legal political entity. Bakare was just the bait used to blind the southerners from any suspicion. I believe they are sponsored by the likes of Gaddafi, Bin Laden and Ahmadinejad. Their educated supporters do not even know what they are supporting.

First they started with "Boko Haram"
Bakare foolishly fuelled it with "PDP Haram"
Now they've added "NYSC Haram", "Southerners Haram", "Christians Haram".

Every innocent CPC fan should do all they can now to put out the fire they started unknowingly lest they get consumed by the same fire.

What about the northerners that are not "sharia-ners". This matter is extremely complicated. Anyway, for now, anybody that can run away should do so without thinking twice. Same for the abokis in the south. It's getting hot in here!

I hope Bakare is watching.

In the video in your link, the CNN reporter disclosed that he witnessed muslims cleric handing out papers saying muslims should not vote for non-muslims, yet some silly Yoruba christians have the mouth to talk thrash about the SS and SE.

That bold part prompted some questions:

What then did Bakare bring to the table for CPC?
Why couldn't the presence of a "pastor" in CPC deter the party from using religion as a strategy to win the election.
Why did he not threaten to resign from the party if religious coercion was being used as a major strategy by his party members?
Why couldn't he exert any significant influence so as to align with the interests of the southern or Christian populace which he represented in the party?
What kind of government would we have had from such a party?

Seriously, that is the painful part. Those people are there to help them become better people.

This is the reason people many are not happy with Buhari and Bakare. They should have carried a different message during their rallies. They were in the best position to make them act honorably and peacefully no matter the outcome. The "elder" and the "pastor" could have brought a message of peace and hope to all their supporters. Rather than have their agents send a text around saying "Don't vote for an infidel, if you do, you will be punished" They should have sent one saying "Do not kill, embrace peace". Bakare was busy chanting "PDP haram" when he could have said "Let us build the country together". He should have been the gentle voice behind the general. If they truly had the interest of the nation at heart, they would have done things differently. They preferred that blood be spilled for their selfish cause rather than to put lives first.

These are the people whose charred bodies litter the street:

It is easy to post sweet sounding words from the comfort of your living room, but a doze of reality will serve to give you the true picture.

I hope Bakare can see all that is going on. I wonder how he can sleep with good conscience. He called for violence in the north. He forgot his creed because of his greed. Now, the victims are christians, innocent women and children, corpers etc. Churches have been burnt and properties have been destroyed. Guess who these victims are; southerners and christians! His own people.  A 'pastor' that should preach peace has fueled violence all because of the thirst for power. Why didn't he do the opposite during his campaigns? Why didn't he seize the opportunity to call for peace and to give the people hope? He decided to take the shortcut. I wonder what he will do next.
