Obviously, his definition of 'poor' is different from mine. |
So, if you harbour her for 2 days because that's all the time she needs now, what happens when she decides to stay away from her husband for a month? A man who rapes a woman he once loved in the presence of her kids will waste no time sniffing life out of you when push comes to shove. An unreasonable and jealous man is the last person you should pray to have issues with. You have been a good and supportive friend, but now is the time to counsel and encourage her to involve her family before she dies an avoidable death. If you can afford it, give her money to lodge in a hotel and/or arrange for transportation to her parents/relatives' place. You don't have to know the hotel she lodges in but you can always monitor her progress via phone. Save a life, but in doing that, don't lose yours. |
pfii: 1. Act like they don't exist.And you've said it all. |
This isn't love; it's prostitution. |
This is the way to go. Save a life when you can, and not celebrate an avoidable death. Congratulations for getting your life back. |
He said "No roadblocks"; now, it's "impound cars with tinted glass". I'm wondering how this will be done - maybe a house-to-house search will be conducted. Our 'Ogas at the top' always get themselves confused in the name of asserting their authority. Plus, does this rank as one of the major security challenges in the country right now? Na wah oooooo |

Bishop Oyedepo should be able to help out. I understand he has more than one private jet. |
If a man squandered millions in less than 15 years of active soccer, how much can you raise for him to last him for a lifetime? This is a lesson to us all: always set your sight on the future. Today's Range Rover is tomorrow's scrap. If in doubt, ask the 504s and WW Beetles. |
Always an evergreen joke. As long as our policemen remain who they are, the joke will not go out of fashion. |
Hmmmmmmm........ All the posts here only remind me of what my dad always say: "Any profession that doesn't elicit public empathy in case of any calamity is an embarrassment" |
Stallion84: Now the new line on the block is 'My Oga at the top'. But no one has condemned the distasteful way the channels crew ridiculed a guest on a live tv show. I find these channels cast so unprofessional. As much as I agree that the Civil defence representative messed up in a capital manner, but the unruly way these people handled the situation goes against modern journalism. The point has been obvious that after asking him twice, he couldn't come up with a tangible answer but three people kept repeating the same question over and over again. You should protect the guest as well while remembering that he is not an omniscience.Well written in a truly matured manner. I enjoyed reading your post but completely disagree with it. Apart from image laundering, the gentleman was on TV for one other reason: to clear the air on the issue of recruitment racketeering and/or fraudulent recruitment websites in the name of the organisation. Obviously, he failed to do that. I think professionalism is about conducting oneself in a way that doesn't contravene the code of conduct of one's profession. The presenters asked a direct question and only wanted a direct answer. It's just like asking for my name. Would you let me off the hook if I gave you excuses rather than tell you my name? 'One on One' is a programme on the NTA; NTA is owned and manipulated by the government; Jigawa state governor was a part of the government then. So, it was only natural for the presenter to protect his 'boss'. Let's leave the presenters and NBC, and focus on the man that messed up. But then, even the C-in-C hasn't performed better in any of his interviews. |
And this story made frontpage........ Izzokay! |
Sentenced to death for killing a fellow colleague but case is always silenced when a civilian is killed. God dey! |
Seriously, people do not have to lie in order to get public sympathy. We are all humans, and we are sane enough to know the market shutdown has a serious financial impact on the traders. But N100 billion ? Haba!!!! Does Apple have a factory there? ![]() |
The private universities set up by churches are meant to serve both as an educational institution and a centres for moral reform. If they have to expel students who are 'morally deficient' without first making very serious attempts to reform them, that's the highest level of hypocrisy. |
I keep saying this: no Nigerian needs to be convinced that a government is working. If a government is working, we'll see and feel it. This is nothing but another waste of tax payers' money. |
In the first place, the headline of the post is misleading. Secondly, has the place been shut down? The poster did not provide his source of info. Without doubt, politics is messy in this country; but providing this kind of unverifiable information with a wrong caption doesn't help us still. |
Lovely and emotional piece. I love the part about doing the damage control after her BBA fiasco - that's what friends do. When people mock you, true friends don't just defend you and walk away, they swim in the mud with you. R.I.P Goldie |
....... and I'm wondering what her business is. Even when the all powerful IBB and Abacha reigned supreme, their wives left them to do their business while they did theirs - even though their combined deeds were morally wrong. |
Hmmmmm......Interesting! One is locally married, one is 'internationally' married, one is divorced (abi na separated), and one is still single. No wonder it made the frontpage. Shebi oyinbo talk say variety is the spice of life! ![]() |
*Loses appetite and pours away the remaining garri and groundnut* |
And this made frontpage ![]() ? |
Please,I have question: which of these ladies own the dress gangan?! ![]() |
Lovely piece, and very true. Many people celebrated the death of Dagrin but failed to warn the public or remind themselves of the danger of dangerous driving! |
Same movie, different actors. |
My question is: do these people really need to be there? What exactly is there presence meant to do the team? The NFF has managed the team well so far, and the likes of Kanu and Jay Jay have effectively played the Big Brother role. So, what's the need for the jamboree? |
Hmmmmmmm......... The recipe of every successful marriage is not the same, and it is wrong for anybody to assume that whatever makes his/her marriage work is the best decision for other people to adopt. The reason most people are still single is because they set too many standards without considering where the other person is coming from. Unfortunately, many ladies are in the mould of the OP - and it's really sad. |
Has CAN really become this unfocused? Hmmmm...... Never underestimate the power of money! |
Majek Fashek's story always saddens me. It's a shame to see such a bright prospect fall so badly. I always tell people that Majek would have won a Grammy if he hadn't inflicted himself with such a setback. Maybe I overrated him, but he was really, really promising then. |
I love it when people stick to what they know. |
Hmmmmmmm....... You have a God you can always talk to; you own your heart and brain. The powers to determine the kind of happiness you want lie with you. Marriage is not a 4-way Rotary test - it doesn't have to be beneficial to everybody for you to feel right. |
? Haba!!!! Does Apple have a factory there?
