1. All the previous scans were wrong and this one is the right one.

2. All the previous scans were right and the person that did this one didn't get it right.
This happens if you used different centres.

3. There is a slight chance that your baby has slowed down his growth. This is highly unlikely. Highly. Don't be scared.
Do a repeat scan to remove all doubts or have the Dr measure your tummy with a tape.


Also note that all scans have a +/-2 weeks difference so you are still within the bracket.

Eat right, use your drugs and stay happy.

Think I'll go with option two because I did the early scan at 10 weeks that gave me the same EDD as LMP,a scan at 29 weeks that gave me an EDD just 2 days different from the earlier and this late scan that's giving me an EDD of close two weeks after the original in the same place. Just that the guy that did the late scan is like an apprentice. The main sonographer wasn't there that day.

I'm just worried about the EDD cos of mat leave. Don't want to start mat leave only to go and spend one month out of it at home waiting for baby to come and then I get to spend less time with the baby after he is born.

yes, scan gives EDD according to the weight of their fetus. i think your baby is measuring smaller than the gestational age. but never the less, the gap is not much. It won't stop the baby from coming at the right EDD. You won't have problem pushing baby out.

I went to scan and mine is measuring a week ahead. Thats the explanation the doctor gave me; that am having a big baby.

Good evening mamas, please what can make a late scan be reading a different(backward) gestational age and a later EDD when compared to the initial EDD? I did a scan at 35wks6days GA according to LMP but scan showed baby at 34wks1day with weight of 2.32kg and moved my EDD forward. Does it mean the baby is quite small for his age?

I've stopped rubbing cream on my legs since... waking up like 4 times to pee at night... stopped eating beans since since... this baby can kick for Africa, sometimes I feel like my belle wan tear... once I sit down, nobody can make me stand up (except I need to pee)... etc etc etc
