talina: Not voluptuous. Im slim but I still have curves where it countshmmm. i'm curious now.. |
Python3 already has nested functions. Dunno if prior versions do too. |
England is not more developed than America. I also don't know in what sense it can be considered more stable. Despite being wealthier, the US also has a higher per capita GDP growth rate, if I'm not mistaken. |
The pastor spoke the truth. |
Oritsejafor has more credibility with me than the PDP |
Heh Lokoja didn't smell went I went there. But we were just stopping by to buy some of that fried yam and roasted chicken they sell at this one shop ![]() |

So long as I am chosen as leader of this one world government, then all will be well |
jmaine: Wetin consign NUPENG with doctors sackI wonder ooo. Next we will hear of a medical union in Ghana doing solidarity strike too. Nigerian unions appear to be pretty evil and demented. |
Torture both him and her to death in the most painful and slow way imaginable. |
I don't like seeing good things which work destroyed, basically. For what seems to be sentimental reasons. |
Basically from my perspective, the UK is working. It is a pretty good country, one of the best in the world. Why destroy it? Are Scots some heavily oppressed people? No. So what exactly are they fighting for? What do they want? Why diminish both your voice and the voice of the UK? Ultimately, they have more in common with each other than with anyone else on this planet. So surely they can come to some sort of equitable arrangement. |
Eh. From reading the history, they've had the same monarch for 400+ years. And for the first 100+ years, their king was a Scot! So certainly they cannot spin things as if they've been bullied by the English or something. |
Your best bet is to give us a summary/cliff notes version of this essay ![]() |
Honestly, this seems so foolish to me. Surely there must be a better way. Hmm. My strong opposition to this means I should probably spend more time thinking about my pro-"Divide Nigeria" stance, make sure I'm not being inconsistent.. |
What do the Scots want that they think independence will give them? Just find out what they want and give it to them. Honestly, I don't even know the difference between a Scot, Englishman, Irishman, etc. They are all essentially the same thing to me. Anyway, UK had better do whatever it takes to keep the Scots in the fold. Doesn't need any more hits to its prestige and power. |
ifihearam: Great Ovedje Ogboru is a loser,if e likes he moves to republican party oo,he will and can never smell the seat of a governor in delta state just like buhari.Elaborate? |
On some cloud computing hosts (e.g. heroku), you aren't given write access to the file system. Plus, for security reasons, perhaps I don't want any tom dick and harry to be able to write to my FS If you are talking about storing VIDEO in a DB, sure. But images should be easy as cake |
Kini big deal. Nobody likes black people. If you are waiting for the love of other races, then you'll be waiting for a long time... |
Eh. mySQL if I remember correctly has the BLOB data type. So presumably sql DBs are capable of handling binary data of some sort. |
Interesting. Can't anonymous functions do the trick? In any case, I'll just continue to write my tests (even for python) using RSpec ![]() |
Seun: Don't do that. You should upload the image to a special image directory and just store the filename in MySQL.why? what difference does it make? slight speed difference? |
*shrug* If you don't find the result of a presentation made by the head of JAMB credible, that is your problem, not mine. |
Actually, even with (3), just having a PhD is not enough. You need to be a good researcher ![]() After all, presumably nobody wants to get his PhD from an advisor who is a crappy scientist/researcher. |
Ah, so that is a separate issue, bayo. At university, there are several different tasks for the faculty: 1) Undergraduate teaching 2) MS/PhD level teaching 3) MS/PhD research and mentoring (1) largely can be done by MS holders. (2), mostly PhD holders. (3), PhD holders. But my general impression of Nigerian universities (and heck, universities in general) is that most of the faculty man-hours are devoted to (1). |
portage: Ekt_bearWhy would there be a difference in quality? Also, don't you think that the 2nd year PhD student might do a better job teaching, since he/she might better be able to related to the students? |
nooooooiiice |
There is a separate issue of people trying to teach material that they don't know. Or are not qualified for. Someone in the programming section mentioned a data structures class they took in which the instructor didn't know what a hash table is ![]() So that type of thing is a problem. But a separate issue from having a PhD degree or not. |
Basically, let's not use degrees as a proxy for teaching ability. Either you are a good lecturer or you are not. Having a PhD will not turn a bad lecturer into a good one. |
Portage: No, I think my point is that having a PhD is not necessary for being a good lecturer. In fact, at many universities (including the one I am at), some of the classes taught during the summer session are not taught by PhDs. Many of them are taught by PhD students. So you might end up taking a summer class in calculus, and the instructor is a second year PhD student in math. That PhD student in math may very well be a much better lecturer than a famous, graybeard professor in mathematics with all sort of international accolades. You don't need to learn calculus from a Fields medal mathematician. Learning calculus from a pretty smart person who knows the material well and most importantly knows how to communicate it well is going to be more valuable. |
I'm feeling really lazy this morning. So if anyone has some time free and wants to type up those tables so I can analyze them, I'd greatly appreciate it ![]() |
