LOL, you people ain't going no where, ONE NAIJA for the rest of your miserable lives cheesy
You really have no say in the matter, one way or another. Nobody is going to ask you before they come to a decision
Politics › Re: Mark To Eu: Don’t Interfere In Our Elections by ektbear: 12:33am On Apr 16, 2011
blahblahblah, do whatever you like in the other 5 regions of naija if you like. But in the SW, we want international observers and free and fair elections
Politics › Re: Mark To Eu: Don’t Interfere In Our Elections by ektbear: 12:28am On Apr 16, 2011
This has nothing to do with white or black. If you are going to rig, then I'll seek to stop you. If I have to find allies in the EU to prevent you from rigging, so be it.

No amount of useless African pride bullshit will allow me to let David Mark and the PDP take away democracy from me.

^^^^ Thought you said we gonna leave when the oil is finished
Hrm. My thought process was a bit more complicated than that.

Basically, I was under the impression that we didn't have much in terms of mineral resources in the SW. Seceding w/o an ability to replace the billions in lost revenue seems a bit silly to me; you'll just create some poor nation. Democracy and independence is nice, but equally important is revenue.
(In retrospect, the above reasoning was a bit shoddy and pessimistic; even if we doesn't have any mineral resources, setting up power and investing in manufacturing would easily offset FG allocations.)

Since then, I saw some posts by tyrant11 and othes that laid out exactly what mineral resources exist in the SW. It is more than enough to replace FG allocations.

Long story short, if the FG is unwilling to give free and fair elections, then other options need to be considered.

^-- I'm willing to toss the dice to throw off PDP/FG rule. No risks, no reward

^-- It is what it is. I have the right to be a naive goat, when it comes to protecting the interests of my region. Thanks for your concern, but I don't particularly want or need it.

^-- Sort of makes sense. Those cultures you mention have had Greek/Roman influence to varying degrees.

Northern European cultures (which have influenced the US more) much less so.
Politics › Re: Massive Troops Deployment In Southwest by ektbear: 11:42pm On Apr 15, 2011
@Chyz: I'm fine with Nigeria breaking up. If we cannot avoid having rigged elections and the people are denied their right to show their displeasure with the FG, then perhaps it is best if it does.

Not too worried about having the UN peacekeepers leave afterwards. . . those missions tend to be expensive and they aren't too keen on staying indefinitely

Isn't fuel heavily subsidized in Nigeria already? Why is increasing it to reflect its market value a bad idea?

^-- I trust 'em more than I trust the PDP, FG, and dudes like David Mark
Politics › Re: Massive Troops Deployment In Southwest by ektbear: 11:12pm On Apr 15, 2011
I think next election, ACN needs to see if they can have UN peacekeepers supervise elections in the SW

Would greatly reduce the chance of PDP rigging
Politics › Re: Mark To Eu: Don’t Interfere In Our Elections by ektbear: 10:52pm On Apr 15, 2011
If white masters will prevent FG/PDP masters from rigging elections, fine by me

^-- Point is, let's watch him carefully and not allow him to grow into a dictator/overlord. His and our interests align for now, but might not indefinitely. Not 100% clear he is playing for Team Yoruba.

Man, fstranger, you've been here for a long time. Why do you still have this anti-white chip on your shoulder. You know it isn't like that here.

You can like white people without being a self-hating negro

Man, why you got to do me like that, make me out as if I'm a bootlicker. I just remember growing up in school, the kids who'd take a sh1tty attitude towards school, pick fights with me, make fun of me because of me african accent tended to be akata

But on a serious note, White folks are soooo freaking funny if you ain't too mad about slavery lol!! This Canadian who was teaching me how to fish last spring in Vancouver, BC almost killed me with jokes,  Old guy about 65,  lol I almost fell into the river lol,  Randy Nicholson but he'll tell you I'm Randy Nippleson lol
I love white folk. Man truth be told I've had much less problems/conflict with the white man in this country than the black man.

White folk are relaxed, chill, stress-free to deal with

The Office and Seinfield where just so boring GOD. I hate those shows, no humor at all and wack as hell.
WTF is wrong with you

Seinfeld is amazing

Man, as prissy as you are, I cannot believe you didn't love that show

Office blows though. Roommates made me watch it a lot a few years ago

#winning

Man what is the equivalent of Malibu in naija? Maybe eko atlantic when it is finished? grin

I always hated that fat kid in the show though. Such an annoying little asshat
Politics › Re: What Do Yorubas Want From The Igbos? by ektbear: 8:51am On Apr 15, 2011
I dunno, there are several oyinbo sitcoms I think Nigerians would enjoy.

Two and a half men (Charlie Sheen's sitcom)? There are several others. Crap like The Office though, no way they'd like

Hrm, but akata humor I think naija folk would like too, no? Dave Chapelle, Eddie Murphy, guys like that?
