Men like Tinubu are necessary in this jungle called Nigeria. I doubt Fashola is keen on throwing him away, unless he wants to get involved in dirty work himself too. Fashola/Tinubu is a great tag team. Tinubu does the politicking, fundraising and winning, Fashola does the administration. Why break it up? |
This PDP ![]() |
efisher:GEJ, the self-proclaimed "son" of IBB represents change? ![]() |
2+ min long interview, no mention of the CPC and Buhari? Is this Chinedu Offor a GEJ plant? |
These 45 political parties combined aren't even as strong as Accord party, lol He can have 1000 political parties. . . all that matters is the votes each party can secure |
lmao ![]() I feel bad for her though. Looked painful! ![]() |
Buhari is useless really. What he is doing can be replicated by Ribadu. From my perspective, he is only useful because of the votes he brings. That is all he really brings to the table. Everything else can be found elsewhere. |
All the PDP northerners will dump PDP to join CPC if Buhari wins. They are trying to have their cake and eat it, by not entering CPC directly. |
If Tinubu cuts any deals, it better be signed in the presence of the US, Canadian, British, French ambassador and a copy sent to the UN. I don't really trust either of these dudes, to be quite honest. . . |
^-- I'm aware of Kwara and Kogi, very sympathetic to the cause of the middle belt, ND, and even the SE and North. But we first have to save ourselves before we save others. |
I'll take a Buhari offer, can't trust this establishment PDP. Let ACN ally with CPC and end all these rumors. It's time to feed PDP the humble pie and eat their lunch.
I'm fine with that. But these cabalistic Northerners must be kept out of power, lest they ruin the country. Let the ACN select a team of technocrats to run the country, initiate most of the major decisions. Buhari is good at fighting corruption, but a poor strategist and tactician. |
I must say. This has turned out better than I could have expected. Remember all those saying before that ACN should step down, fold, merge into CPC? Clearly Tinubu knew what he was doing better than some of these internet pundits. |

I'm a bit concerned that the cabal is negotiating for Buhari though ![]() |
Love him or hate him, gotta give Tinubu his props. Dude is a beast. Much respect, dude ![]() |
we dey laugh wellu wellu Sai Tinubu |
OAM4J:+1 No need for the FG to do anything for us but pay out the allocations due to us by law. Simple as that. |
ROTFLMAO!! Now we know what drives you crazy ![]() Plz, do not compare the unity of the USA with any of Nigeria's tribe's "unity". That's all I have to say.
![]() OK, then Germany if you like (and the parallels between the Yoruba states/tribes and the German ones should be pretty clear.) View Ekiti as Bavaria ![]() |
I think I see myself as an Ekiti-Nationalist. Nothing wrong with that. If Yorubas want Yoruba nationalist, then they ought to start uniting and building up their nation (i.e states).
Nothing wrong with that. Everyone is entitled to make their own choice. But just as it doesn't make sense for me to see myself as a (for example) Illinois nationalist instead of a US nationalist, I don't think it completely makes sense to be an Ekiti nationalist. Ekitiland is part of a greater nation. If there is any lesson we must learn from history (especially the 1800s!), we must learn that partisan, sectarian interests in Yorubaland only leads to destruction, and being weakened by our enemies. |
fstranger3:Been there several times. I was in Ilesha during part of Christmas break; went to the market for shopping. It is not a bad town at all. My pops actually schooled there for a few years. Anyway, having one nice piece of infrastructure (Oau) is enough to build something upon. |
I think Iroko is beating PDP at their game. Ondo like Ekiti and Oyo is too pro awoism to go with PDP, LP gave PDP a beatdown in Ondo, if I'm PDP i will be very afraid right now. I think Mimiko just duped them.
Heh, I hope he doesn't get burned. Anyway, I'm glad Labour Party is there. . . just in case Tinubu gets out of hand, there is a place to go to ![]() |
sbeezy8:Ekiti IGR is very low. Economy is small, too. Osun has a goodly amount of infrastructure already. . . strong towns like Ilesha, Ife, etc. Strongest town in Ekiti is Ado, which had what, 400k people? And most of the economy there is government parastatal related. Ekiti has always been sort of neglected infrastructure-wise in Yorubaland. Anyway, I'm not an Ekiti nationalist. . . I'm a Yoruba nationalist. Even if Ekiti has to suffer somewhat for the greater good, not a problem. But all of this is a hypothetical discussion anyways. |
Anyway, I think we've all concluded that unity government=no no. Will be interesting to see what Fashola, Tinubu and the rest think of it. Mimiko's LP has already endorsed GEJ though? So he has likely cut a side deal, lol |
Failure of NEPA is entirely, 100% the government's fault. You cannot force a man to sell something for less than it costs! What if the FG said that groundnut has to be sold for less than it costs to produce. Do you think it will be available in abundance? Do not blame the Nigerian citizen for the failure of his incompetent government. There is nothing wrong with foreign debt, so long as you invest it properly in wise things. Look, we aren't going to be like the Irish who are investing it in overpriced real estate. That leads to ruin. We will invest in the tons and tons of low-hanging fruit available in Yorubaland. Roads. Power. Schools. Hospitals. All very mutually beneficial to both the private businessman and Yorubaland. We are not the state of Alaska spending $1 billion+ (or whatever it was) builting a road to a village of 300 people. That is fruit at the top of the tree; poor investments. We'll be plucking the apples at the bottom. |
Ondo, Lagos, Oyo, Ogun are entirely self-sufficient. Or can be, if managed properly (and assuming Ondo isn't d1cked out of the 10% of Nigeria's oil it currently produces). Osun is probably fine. Ekiti is the weakest of the 6 and would suffer the most w/o federal allocations. But at the very least, the first four are fine, economically. |
BTW, Uncle Sam will only screw you over if you give him too much power. Give one project to Uncle Sam, the other to Uncle China, the other to Uncle Brazil, the last one to Russia. That is the way I'd do it. You don't want to let Uncle Sam turn you into his puppet, I agree. |
fstranger3:The Lekki road model i think is a good one for roads across the SW. 25/30 year concession, hand over to Yorubaland when done. It doesn't cost too much cash up front. . . the private businessman gets most of his cash from the users of the resource (in this case, the road). Or you could borrow money to build the road yourself. Like, the government borrowing, that is. I don't like that, because then you open yourself up to political risks. Borrowing (as Dubai and many other countries did) can be very good, but you need to have stability. You don't want the next elected guy to renege on paying back the loans, ruin your credit rating, make you an international pariah. And if it is owned by the government, then you'll have people crying all over the place, "Why does this government road cost money?", blahblah. People want to enjoy things for free that cost hard money to build. . . |
You dey crase. Farmland oshi wo. Fix Ekiti roads, build back the integrity of our education system and you'll see what Ekiti state can become. O ba epkon ori e. Farmland? Imagine!
There is nothing wrong with farming. High tech farming is a very profitable business. Not the inefficient way most Nigerian farmers do it. Anyway, with electricity and good roads we can manufacture too. Imagine, with goods roads and electricity, we could convince Honda to build a multi-billion dollar auto manufacturing plant. . . things of that level. |
Ok I checked the Canbeck company out, they seem respected, but since I'm not sure about the methodology i'll just take it with a pinch of salt, KPMG and the Millenium Cities Initiative(MCI) data of 2008 contradicts them anyway at least in regards to Ondo State.
Can you show me the full list of GDP data from those other two sources? Or was it only Ondo? |
fstranger3:Tinubuism/Fasholaism is the best. PPP everything. Attach a profit incentive for private industry to develop things. If the Lekki Toll road succeeds, then we can throw up roads all over the SW within a 5 year period. Do this for roads, power, etc. Then you can start manufacturing, industrializing, and exporting. 10%+ annual GDP growth, follow a similar track that China followed. By 2100 we can hand our kids/grandkids a first world nation. OBJism won't work anyway, the Nigerian government's money is too small. To grow most quickly we probably need $20 billiion of investment per year in Yorubaland. Federal Government budget is $30 billion. Our needs are more than the government can provide, basically. |
