It seems FBNH is getting ready to wake up from her slumber. |
jossy26: Na blood full market today oo, well its good for me, my livestock target @N3.00 is still feasible#smilingI am with you on that target price for Livestock. I no know where e be dey run dey go. |
Toluway: If you look at the chart and see the way MayBaker and Neimeth are reversing from a 'support line' you will agree with me that proshare is making a wonderful 'buy' recommendation. You are right bro. I am waiting for MAYBAKER to retrace back (2.20 - 2.30). Can one easily get buyer for Neimeth? |
9free: Madam, just keep the money under your Vitaform Bed for now. Allow Eterna to fall to our normal price of N2.00 then we all can board the train from there.Seconded if possible but I will take a small position @N2.70 I will like to partake in Wapic Right Issue but I have not received any letter from them yet. Is it possible to calculate and purchase the units I am entitled to? Can I purchase more than what I am entitled to at the same Right offer price? Please my ogas, advise. |
brio: tanx. hw abt arm aggressive growth fundI only do Treasury Bills and Stocks. I cannot actually advise on some investment types. I don't just like the idea of giving my money to one fund manager to risk for me because I know he/she cannot give me a 100% guarantee on returns with zero risk. I would rather take the risk myself and bear the brunt if it comes as I only trade stocks with money that I can afford to lose. |
stockbull: without losing in any business, you can not understand it.we learn when we lose than when we gain and that's the secret of the experts. This is very true and what the stock market did to some of us is a very good example of this post. But now, most of us have learnt from our mistakes and are now doing even better than our stockbrokers in terms of trading decisions- nobody can run your business like you do. Thanks to Nairaland and this thread in particular- a lot would have happened if this thread didn't exist. |
brio: Good day my Ogas!Stocks are more of emotional affair than mutual funds. If you have a good knowledge of stock investment, then it is fine. If not, I will advise you obtain as much knowledge as you can get before going deep in it. It is also good to diversify and you should not put all your eggs in one basket. Don't get carried away by rate of return. Stock investment has no guarantees. For example, a bankrupt coy can liquidate all its shares and the investors will be left with nothing hence, the need for thorough knowledge of it. |
gosj: My brother Livestock is a good stock to hold even beyond N7. An insider told me that people are not ready to sell it coz of good prospects! But to be frank, the stock is heading to a 1000% year gain because of the high expansion in the poultry and other livestock business in the country. Who said there is no massive transformation in the agricultural sector! Prof. Adeshina is working!Hmmmmmm. This Livestock preaching dey do my body jigijigi everyday. I am tired of waiting for it @N5 and will start accumulating now. |
9free: hmmmm..... and I dey deceive myself sey I dey with for this stock @ N35.00Bros e be like say you go step up your bidding price o... I doubt if Okomu go reach N35 o... I am waiting for it @N40 to add to my toi position there. |
jossy26: @oga stockbull, please what's wrong with NAHco? The Q1 result is quite impressive compared to last year 2012, the stock looks good to me but has been stagnant for a while nowI think NAHCO is heading to N6 where I have been waiting for it in order to add to my position in the coy before it bounces back. |
courage89: I think they are both solid investment. However, if I have to choose, i would choose Okomu over Presco. This is because of the price of rubber. The global price of rubber has been through the roof since the beginning of 2nd quarter. This should have a big impact on the 2nd quarter result.Besides, Okomu is better for long term prospect in terms of fat dividends. However, both are 'brothers' and every year end, the weaker one will always try to measure up with the stronger one in terms of corporate action and so I think investors will always benefit from any of the two coys in terms of dividend and bonus. |
valacious: goodtime for dangsugar, livestock, okomu, japaul and oando. I see a reversal on the nse floor today.I see Livestock dropping more. I am waiting for it @N3.50. Good time for Dangsugar and Oando. Japaul dey fear me pass Fear. |
Omexonomy: two stocks that have sold right issues have being moving southward i.e transcop and oando though i cannot say the same thing for sterling bank penny stock.Even Wapic has started selling Right Issue and I don't know if it will be a good idea to take it considering what happened to the prices of Oando and Transcorp after Right Issue. |
Analyst view (FOR THE WEEK ENDED FRIDAY JUNE 14, 2013) The market started on a very bullish note on Monday and Tuesday, the All Share Index crossed the 40,000 mark 25,000 short of the highest point it reached the March 2008, but short term profit taking activities saw the market shed 5.86% the highest lost in a single week in more than 4 years, despite a significant increase of 94.76 and 202% of volume and value respectively. In the course of the week, Dangote sold 250m shares representing 1.5% of his holdings in Dangote Cement to PIC a company from South Africa. The market is expected to see a rebound in the week ahead, especially in those that loss heavily in the week under review. Stocks to watch for the week 1. Nestle 2. NB 3. Dangote Cement 4. Cadbury 5. Oando Disclaimer The information above was gotten from report made available to me by my stockbroker. Due diligence is advised. |
Cyndas: pls is it possible for the interest accured to be added to the principal and rolled over at the next bidding day? Instead of the interest coming back to my account and i end up spending it.Very possible. You only need to instruct your bank to do so. |
jideflash: Dis 1 dat oando has killed my investment, what price do u advice I re-enter d stock to cushion d lossWhy not use another stock to recuperate your loss instead of re entering Oando, except if you are very sure of your technical analysis. I have been waiting to enter Oando at support level but the guy refuses to rebound and is breaking through all supports and heading to only God knows where... We are advised to trade with caution and not to put our money for 'jangolova'. |
This is also an opportunity to add to my positions. Waiting for Access Bank@N9, Cadbury@N35, Livestock@N3 and Presco@N30. At least, 2 of them must answer to my call. |
Toluway: The current trend in Nigerian stock exchange marketIt can be very frustrating as you have depicted. Even though I do not like trading in this manner, I have actually been trading like this for some time now. If you can't beat them, join them. For example, I made more than 30% in Dangsugar and asked my broker to sell. Who knows, maybe before they can be able to find a buyer, the profit would have dropped to 5%. As for the long term investors, they do not need to worry about profit taking. However this does not mean they should sleep and not monitor the trend like some of us did before the crash. Long term investors can still sell and take profit at the slightest notice of possible disaster in the economy or company where they have holdings and move to another. |
feelamong: See as una dey count me amongst big men!... abeg Snail follow for Wild Animals??Ha ha ha ha... Oga feelamong I hail u sir. No day wey I no dey laugh for this thread. This is the best thread ever. Thanks to all those that are keeping it alive. Best financial wishes to all. |
Born 2be Rich: I understand why stockbull made the comment and i support him..If you look closely other non banking stocks have given a higher percentage of return on investment compared to banking stocks..Take for example Firstbank and livestock...if client A buys Livestock about 2months ago at a price of N2.7 and client B buys first bank at N18 same period by now client A would have made more returns on his investment portfolio when compared to client B with the banking stock portfolio. You are VERY correct my oga. The thing don vex me tire... |
bibu: Good job bro, please do u know the prices of gtb and Zenith bank share. And which stockbroker coy will you advice I could use?Check here for current and updated list of share prices of listed companies http://www.cashcraft.com/index.php?option=com_wrapper&view=wrapper&Itemid=109 As for stockbroker, there are a lot of brokers you can choose from in the NSE website depending on your location but some of them may need huge investment capital before you can open an account with them. But I hear Meristem Securities Limited is a very good one. BGL Securities Limited is another one but may require huge account set up capital. |
bigx: Meristem owns MeritradeThanks a lot |
mercylicious: The problem with buying during the bulls is dt u might nt see stocks to buy. I placed order for vitafoam and it has nt been bought after 2days. Neimeth, agleventis is nowhere to be found too. The best time to buy is wen there is no rush.I placed order for CAP Plc a week ago but buying has not been possible. I am thinking of diverting the funds to another coy if I still can't get it by the end of the week. |
@fxisreal and Stockbull.. Thank you very much for this clarification. I will try and open an account with them. Please is Meristem and Meritrade the same? I can't seem to find any information on Meritrade. |
Toluway: fxisreal fxisreal: i even call my broker before i send order and call after the order sent and monitor my cscs to know if order got execute or not for decision to stop or re-place the orderPlease Toluway & fxisreal I need an online brokerage firm where I can carry out transactions without my physical presence in their office and I understand Meristem offers such service. My question is have you ever tried to withdraw money from your accounts? Is there any hassle to this? Because I no wan put my money for Jangolova o... Please those that have had experience with Meristem should give advice. |
9free: Madam, please stop crying ooohhh.Seconded. |
mercylicious: Dt dangote sugar own dey vex me. Me wey dem show am for dream , I come talk am here bt no take action as d price dey fall then.Too bad...sorry. I bought at 9.50 and have already made 30% in 8 days.. This Dangote dey fear me o... Anyway my eyes dey wide open for their mata sha. |
mercylicious: Am cutting my losses on oando. Placed a sell order today.Sorry about your loss. Why not wait a little? Except if you bought for short term. You may also decide to sell a small position first and see how the stock will go in the next few months before deciding to sell the rest. Good luck. |
ayztech: That's one thing but I assume all the gurus here, u know, feelamong dem, don't lose this much even when their bids do not go through and they buy from the secondary source, abi. They take risk and sometimes get lucky. However, it is better to always let the bank purchase the T-Bills for you at the best prevailing rate. If you give your bank a bid rate which happens to be greater than the stop rate, then you don't get anything and will have to wait until the next PMA date which will be in 2 weeks time thereby leaving your money hanging there with no accrued interest. Also, what is the possibility you will not again bid too high, above the stop rate in the next market auction? If you decide to go lower than your previous bid, you may end up bidding too low, maybe far below the stop rate. But the banks are more professional in the field and can get you a good rate. Just make sure you use a good bank that will not deliberately fail to execute your bid and later sell for you from their reserve. Seun: That's the bank rate; the rate bid by the bank on behalf of customers who could not choose their own rates.I am sure that was from their own reserve because the tenor was for 100 days @ 10.2% and not 91 days. There was a time I asked my bank to bid for me only to be told the next few days that they could not submit my bid because they had system challenges and offered me a 72 days T-Bills at the same rate (10.20%) which I asked them to bid for me and with the same maturity date of June 20th 2013. I accepted the deal as I had no choice. I think the stop rate for 91 days T-Bills for that PMA was about 10.45%, so the difference wasn't that much. |
Michael11stock: The oga na one big man for CSCS coy but him dey hide him logo Oga Elai47 i hail ooooo no forget me for here shaHahahah... I no dey cscs o...na me hail u pass my oga. I am loyal |
9free: This market don fear me o.. Dey way large cap and medium cap coys dey fly these days na wa oooThe tin dey fear me too ooo my oga. Na for me to join dance the dance o.. Especially that DangSugar |
ayztech: ....I am just wondering if this T-bills ratesPerhaps they want to sell for you from their own 91-day T-Bills which they purchased @ 11.65. Some of these banks are thieves. Na their way... |
