Aliko Dangote say "if you don't have ambition, you shouldn't be alive" but Oando own na overambitious and they are now suffering from the effects of attempting overambitious magic. I don pause my order for that coy since. Waiting for the right time to enter..

kalan: its quite obvious, the company has been bought over by UAC with about 51% shareholding
2 other institutional investors has 10% each, so what is remaining is about 30%, and their
first qrt result was good. the stock is scarce. so the mad rush.

Elail47, I dont think so. its running up to N10, first it will lose steam becos of
profit taking and came back to N5 but it will pick again. I bought it sold and re-entered
and made like 179% already in 5 weeks.

Looking to buy more, its a good stock to own for now- i expect it to dip this week, if not
then the stock will create a record in the stock market.
Yes I am waiting for it after profit taking. I know it will definitely come down. Maybe I should reduce my greed and start accumulating @N5. Congrats on your 179% profit... e no easy

Unilever to Nestle Raise Nigeria Bubble Concern on Valuation

Investors are valuing shares of Nestle SA (NESN) and Unilever’s Nigerian units at about twice the level of their European parents as faster growth in Africa’s most populous nation lifts consumer stocks to record highs.

....While bulls say the gains in Nigeria are justified by the economic expansion in Africa’s largest oil-producing nation, Hermes Fund Managers Ltd. and Renaissance Asset Management see the valuation gaps as a signal shares are too expensive. All three units reported profit declines in the period ended March as accelerating inflation and an Islamist insurgency in the north curbed spending by the nation’s 170 million citizens.

True talk but let's hope they don't manipulate their reports because I see no other reason why they are holding back. This should be a clear hint for investors to be very careful with their audited reports by the time they eventually release them.

brio: Good day house.
please i want to dematerilise my intercontinental bank and access bank share but i am having irregular signature issue. what should I do. help house
Since you were told that you had irregularities on your signatures, I assume you already have a stockbroker and must have submitted the certificates to him/her. Your broker shoud have advised you on what to do in order to rectify this problem. If your broker is not helping, contact your bank and request for "Banker's Confirmation". A Banker's Confirmation is needed when the Registrar cannot verify a client's signature. So your bank needs to testify that the signature is truly yours and that you are a customer of their bank. You may need to be physically present in the bank to be able to do this. You may also need to go with a passport photograph and some form of identification. I am sure they will be able to help you.

Godsfavson: I dont agree wit u on this... I bought it when everyone was dumping and it was converted to ETI and though the number reduced the value has been soaring lately. And ur dividend comes in ($$$$) Dollars!!!! So pls tell me How is it worthlesshuh pls do all u can to find out how many ETI shares u have and build on it cos I see it growing in the future.. My opinion though..
It is almost worthless. Tell me how dividend payment in dollars is a plus. The equivalent in Naira is practically what other companies in its category would pay. Even after the acquisition, they refused to credit investors CSCS account with the new ETI shares equivalent. Information reaching me says ETI is delaying in crediting the equivalent ETI shares in investors account in order to avoid mass selling by investors which will in turn cause a sudden fall in the price of ETI shares. The coy has not been finding it easy since the acquisition deal and will want to delay crediting the ETI equivalent in investors account to allow them more time to make good profit and this may take another one or two years. So how is that not worthless? A stock that you cannot sell simply because you have not been credited is almost worthless. Even if ETI hit N100 today we cannot sell because we don't have it yet in our CSCS. All we can do is fold our hands and watch.

fxisreal: bro when someone invest 1m on something and he can now realize 10k from the said investment, is that not worthless? the guy said he bought in 2008 go and check d price as at 2008 compare to the price u bought yours
You are right. It is almost worthless. I bought 100,000 units of Oceanic during the public offer. After the acquisition deal with ETI, the units I have now is almost worthless to me and not encouraging. But at least it is better than bank PHB shares which is now completely worthless due to AMCON acquisition of failed banks.

learner1: Is it possible to sell my late dad shares? No record nothing but i got to know about some when d dividend are being posted. Some of d profits are very annoying sometimes 1 naira, 200 naira e.t.c. How can i possibly know all d shares he bought? I felt those capital are just tied there and wasting away. Now that NSE has rebound and i think is an opportunity to sell it off.

Now, my own dilema is this. In 2008, I bought oceanic bank shares worth #100,000 and till this day, no single dividend. The certificate is still there gathering dust. What should i do please? I have better things to invest these money and not this manipulated stock market. I need help abeg
Oceanic is now owned by ETI after the acquisition deal. According to information, shareholders of Oceanic Bank will get 1 new ETI shares in exchange of 14 Oceanic Bank shares. So you no longer have Oceanic Bank shares but ETI shares. Divide whatever units you bought by 14- that's the units of shares you currently hold in ETI. You can contact the registrars and ask them if you have any pending/ unclaimed dividends with them and they will let you know if you have any. I am not sure if there has been any dividend payout since the acquisition.

This is bad from the NSE regulators

Good News for Okomu and Presco.

Very good. Stakeholders have already protested against reduction of tariff from 35 per cent. Let's hope the government will listen because I still have my eyes on that sector.

My brother this is not about protest by Stakeholder. This is coming from the govt directly. The minister of Agriculture is the one speaking. I believe him because he sounds very serious. Fo them to have done that extensive research across the ECOWAS subregion, it means govt is not kidding.
I know but the government still needs to approve it. That was the minister's opinion but he alone may not be able to fight for us. It was the government's decision to reduce tariff from 35% and they need some iron hands to get them to desist from their plans to reduce tariff.

Toluway: Thank you bigx. I heard something about the right issue recently on this forum, but i didnt know there is already a price tag with it. Very good at that price. Please what is the date of coomencement of the right issue ?. Talking about Transcorps.

AS regards Meritrade, I used 'market price'
The Right Issue was extended and I think it was because they failed to realise the expected N13 billion proceeds. Anybody wanting to buy fresh Transcorp shares should wait until after friday 07 June, which is the extension date of the Right Issue to see if it will be successful. I wonder why the Right Issue was not successful the first time- apparently because they got lesser shareholder participation. Oando needed N54.6 billion in Right Issue and they got N62 billion indicating an oversubscription of N8 billion. Transcorp diversification is getting too much ooo. I wonder when investors will start benefiting from their investment on this coy since most parts of their earnings are used to acquire one thing or the other. Why can't they just settle in one place and allow investors to enjoy their investment? Very soon we will hear that transcorp has acquired a bank and name it "Transcorp Bank". Lmao.. anyway, I am waiting for transcorp @N1.00, Right Issue or no Right Issue. Because even after Right Issue what is the assurance that the downtrend will not continue till it gets to N1.00. Abeg Transcorp shareholders make una no vex, I just wan enter @ awuuf price.

Toluway: Thanks Bigx. In that case, will the market price get down to that $1 because of the price for the Right Issue? What advice do you have for somebody like me who now wants to buy at market price.Excuse my mediocrity.
You cannot buy from the Right Issue since you don't have any Transcorp shares in your portfolio. Your best bet is to buy at a good market price before the uptrend starts. Usually, stock prices are expected to go up after Right Issue but certainly not in all cases. For me, I can't benefit from the Roght Issue but I am waiting with great care for the price to go down more. Who knows, we may eventually buy @N1.00 which is the same as the Right Issue.
