With Peanut budget, Moyes took Everton from constant relegation battle to a team that finished 4th-7th.
How could such a coach be possibly take Manchester United with huge money to relegation fight? Moyes would have by now stabilize us if he stayed and brought his own kind of players.

Fact! Before Moyes took over Everton, they were struggling with delegation season after season. It took just two seasons for Moyes to turn it around and made Everton a team that vies for European place every season. He even qualified Everton for the Champions league. All with small budget. |

I have no doubt that Moyes would have by now stabilize our team. Around Christmas 2013 he had closed the gap to very few points even though he was 5th on the log. We were top of our group in Champions league without losing a match. Then injuries hit the team terribly. We went were on the way to Carling cup final if not for DDG last minute goof.
Looking at the way Everton keep sinking since Moyes left, he is not as bad as people think.
Now we are making mistakes Moyes would never have made. Over trimming the team such that we have no quality players to fall back on when we are hit with injuries. We are praying defenders that are not strong and speeding - Blind and Darmian. EPL is a different place from other leagues. May be I will support Mourinho over Guardiola. At least someone who knows the league already has an advantage, particularly when recruiting players. |

Otamendi has been a really big heap of shyte this season and the Otamendi/Mangala partnership is the main reason City have not run away with the title yet.
RVP has not exactly set the Turkish league alight either.
Lacazette has been firing blanks on all cylinders in the French league and Anderson has disappeared from Europe like the fart of a leprous witch
And Torres? Torres that has scored just.....in fact the less said about Torres the better. Lol. You forgot to add LVG. Otamendi and Mangala have highlighted how good Kompany really is. |

Kikero112: To clarify....
Emefiele said back in November 2015 that (Sauce:http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/11/why-we-ignored-calls-for-naira-devaluation-by-cbn/)
The simple idea behind devaluation is that it will make your import more expensive while your export is cheaper.
“Our major export commodity which accounts for more than 80% of our income is crude oil and here is crude oil that the price is determined, we don’t have a control over it. So, if we devalue, it has no impact directly on our major export, and what is supposed to be the non oil export, we are not producing effectively.
“It means that for the industry which is also import dependent, they have to pay higher prices for those goods which will translate to higher inflation.”
You see the problem.....and that is why CBN is not interested in devaluing the Naira.
At least back in 1989....when we did devalue the Naira....we had some form of an industry. And it did not work back then. Gbam! |

Nalikedis: This is a very complicated situation we are in and I think Emefiele is doing a great Job with the support of PMB and Adeosun ... that some western analyst condemn our method doesn't mean we are doing a very bad job. To have compared us with China and Venezuela shows that we are not doing really bad and I think they should have included Russia too. Their suggestion I think will be the Greece route. If we are to follow the Soludo suggestion and allow free fall of Naira, I don't think those shouting dollar scarcity will wish to import goods at 500/1$ official...who go buy such good?. @ below $30/barrel with backlog of our oil quota I don't think we have much choices this period than patching the economy and I believe Emefiele will come out of this a better CBN governor . Western analyst have very little input here because they have very little idea what it means for a country to import 80% of her food consumption and even her toothpick. You are intelligent and you said my mind. Look at Financial Times comparison with Russia. Russia doesn't import refined oil, they export both crude and refined oil. Whereas we import refined oil, food, tractors for road construction and agriculture, food, etc.

Dadehmola: i am actually not surprised...
In a bid to sound knowledgeable, Elampiro has this uncanny ability to come up with such disgusting analysis..
we have had the lion's share of possession in virtually all our matches - how come you are now blaming a defense that has even managed to keep 11 clean sheets for our lack of creativity?? Is it the primary job of full backs to provide creativity by bombing foward with pace and power??
Stop this your yeye talk jare..
you are talking nonsense as usual...
Despite our woes, our defense is still the 2nd best in the league - everyone knows that the problem lies with LVG's tactics and of course under performing attackers (like your useless Rooney for the majority of the campaign thus far)
However, the "Great Pundit who knows ball" feels that our lethargic performances upfront should be attributed to our attackers having to "join the defenders for the greater part of the game trying to Stop the oposition".
Elampiro, you know nothing about football. just focus on your ludo & drafts abeg. You are an olodo. Possession in midifeld without getting the ball forward. We deny oppposition of the ball and also starve our forward. See the games against Arsenal and Everton. The major difference is defence. We lost to Arsenal 0-3 and never got going all day, excerpt when Valancia was introduced just as he came on against Southampton. We won against Everton 3-0 with a solid defence. We were comfortable on the ball from the back. Football analysis is not your calling because you don't even understand the game.

Mata - 37m Martial - 35m Depay -25m Rooney -300k/week
Yet that attack hasn't been better than that of Sunderland, Norwich, Watford etc and you feel comfortable blaming it on injuries sustained by Shaw, Valencia & Jones.
So much for being a "great pundit" You no know ball. Attack starts from a solid defence. Without a good defence the flow from back to front will be shaking. It's either we are doing slow build up or we are praying long balls forward. No one to carry the ball with a balance forward. Play CR7, Messi, Iniester and Aguero in a defence make up of Okomu Oil players and let's see how they will fly. You will automatically see Iniester and Ronaldo joined the defenders for the greater part of the game trying to Stop the oposition. |

patrickmuf: I saw rooney stationed on the left in most of our attacks and Martial on the right which for me was wrong...Lingard was stationed as a wingback but he added little or no attacking impetus to our play... Now this is my problem, how do you outscore your opponent when your most inform striker is no where to be found around the opposition box and our most effective winger is deployed out of position? Our slow defenders ensured we played a deep defence line which dragged our CMs backward. Then Herrera too was dragged backward from his attacking midfied role (hole). Martial natural instinct to drift wide ensured he went to the right. Without service, Rooney would always drop too. We played a formation we don't play every day, and we got two young players praying as wing back. I recall Gaal said the wing backs are specialist of 3-4-1-2 or 3-5-2. Now he got young players to play as wing back. There he had a big fault. |

chidexxy007: so what happened to the midfield or attack.. Is it injury that's making Rooney, Mata, Depay, Lingard play rubbish simultaneously? The foundation is weak. I mean the defence. Due to slow and inexperienced players in the defence, our forwards cant concentrate. I think Mata has not scored since Valencia injured. But he was our leading scorer before then. We need men who are comfortable on the ball, protects it and carry it forward quickly. Fast legs = high line defence = attacking football. Remember last season. |

codedguy1: Is it because of injuries we are not scoring too? These players are the fastest over long distance not only in Manchester United but also some of the fastest in the league. Valencia Shaw Smalling Young Jones Three of them are also good headers of the ball in defence. Without these players we lack the ability to carry the ball forward swiftly and with a balance. They help us to push our defence very high because I am yet to see any striker that will carry the ball from half way to our box without Valencia, Shaw, Smalling and Jones catching up. We can see even Jackson is hard to outpace. Today, we barely crossed into the final third with the ball even though we had countless opportunities to burst forward. The defence was far from the front two men, and everyone was dragged back by the defence. Martial and Rooney can be fast over a short distance, but certainly not over a long one. Rooney recorded our fastest time last season, and Martial holds the record this season. But when the race is stretched these two guys wont come up. At least we had a period we were scoring many two to three goals with almost everyone fit. |

“Neither us nor they kept the ball so much. I put Mata in because I wanted to change that and to keep the ball much easier. In the first 15 minutes it was much better and the fans were cheering the team."
“But then the injury of Darmian happened and that changed the play I think because it was not a nice thing to view for my players. Every change I have made today I knew in advance that in set plays we would have a problem. When replacing Fellaini and Darmian you lose two headers, and we don't have a tall team."

Arsenal, West Ham have had injuries to their key men yet they ain't playing as bad as united, west ham even went 5games unbeaten. Bournemouth had long term injuries to about 6 of the players who brought them up yet u don't hear their coach blaming injuries at every presser like LvG like wen the squad was complete we were playing any better. LVG should honourably resign cos to me he's lost it. Our injuries is perculiar because the long term injuries happened in one department - defence. Shaw, Vanlencia, Rojo have been out for a long term. The worst is that the back up are not just capable. Oshea would do a better job than Blind, Darmian and McNair. |

patrickmuf: Seriously i don't understand what you're on about, are you putting up a defense for Van Gaal? What balance when you prefer Fellaini to Perreira/Mata and Lingard to Januzaj... You said Martial was played on the right. I don't think so, excerpt if you are saying we played 4-3-3. I supposed we played 3-4-1-2 with Rooney and Martial as two strikers in front of Herrera. Fellaini is better than Mata in central midifeld. Mata is not a CM. Mata went into AMC when he came on while Herrera dropped to CM. Again Fellaini is starting because without our first choice defenders available he offers protection to set plays against us. Secondly, he starts because Schwesteiger and Carrick are injured. |

His bland and docile demeaneur, useless selection and formation coupled with his crazy substitution all add up to the fact that the guy should pack his bags and move on to the left.
He can't even use injuries as an excuse because even when we have a retinue of fit players LvG finds a way to Bleep things up.
His pressers are boring trying to form SAf only to start talking about wine and mince pie
We might end up finishing below Chelshit this season if we leave this BAGA. There was a time we were second or third on the log, and that was when we had Smalling, Jones, Valencia, Rojo and Blind all fit. We even won one or two matches 3-0. |

Lingard and Fellaini are total poo and Schneiderlin needs to stop attempting those cross field balls of his, he needs to watch and learn from Busquet, keep it simple...Every human being with a brain would take Januzaj over Lingard safe for Van Gaal, we should be doing much better with the players we have... Martial on the right wing is a mistake the useless Van Gaal keeps making...Not seeing anymore matches whilst that bastard of a coach remains at the helm of affairs... What formation did we play today? Where did Martial play in the formation? Again you said we should be doing better with the kind of prayers we have. Which players? The free kick from which they scored us was a wrong call by the linesman.
I don't know why Lingard lasted beyond 60 minutes on the pitch. Jackson was one of our best players and he was substituted while largely inefective Lingard was left on the pitch.
From the first half, I saw balls that fell on Lingard that he didn't know what to do, then I remember Nani. One vs one Lingard would be trying to reverse or always losing ppssesion in same situation Nani would be celebrating he was in to eat his marker.
These days our line up does not instil an iota of confidence in the fans.
We still need players with speed who can carry the ball forward. Did anyone else see how McNair at one point bursted forward covering almost box to box? Then later Smalling attempted some speeding forward runs.
I keep wondering if man marking is better than Zonal marking. Man marking makes one take ones eyes away from the ball. May be our personel are the problem.
