our next manager must be a no name coach with a good track record of winning while still playing attacking football.
But first we must rid the club of many of our players first.
I thought we have better players than City? n grin grin grin

Ferguson did not come with an outdated tactics and negative approach to games, I keep saying it, It's better we struggle under an attacking minded coach than struggle under a negative and defensive minded one.
Were you born them to know the tactics Ferguson played visavis the reigning tactics at the time?

Since Ferguson left, the media and fans have shifted power in Manchester United from the manager to the players. What happens, the manager gets to think more of explaining every draw or defeat instead of planning for his games.

The players have become less submissive and less hardworking. It is even worse since Rooney left because he too took many blames that are now passed to the coach.

Great, Before every match Mourinho should bring one trophy out of the dozens he has and Show it to his opponent so that they will let him play football and win, as a matter of fact, He should show the dozens of trophies to FA and ask that he be given the Epl title this season because he has dozens of trophies that 95% of wasn't with United

Just great.
Remember, Ferguson did not hit the ground running when he first came even though he had many previous trophies. In fact they considered sacking him. What a mistake it would have been.

Did you see the game?If yes, was there any moment of note where Young and Martial combined to good effect?
From the game I saw, Martial tired on his own to force the game in Faber of United...Young had acres of space but in most occasions, he either under hit or over hit the cross...
If we had Shaw rather than Young, he'd have created better scoring opportunities with his deliveries....
I saw a particular moment from the highlight, Young drifted in with speed and Martial went wide, then Young pass to him in a most intelligent manner.

With time, you guys will understand what I am saying.

If you play Shaw, the person playing ahead of him becomes a wing back instead of left forward.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 10:56am On Sep 26, 2018
With what Martial played, he needs to start our next 10 games from the left so that we can finally assess him. Sanchez should go fight with Lingard in the middle. Rashford, Lingard and Mata should fight for the right.

Except we play another formation, like two strikers.

I don't take dis thread serious anymore, the way they were reacting you would think we lost 7-0.
They want Mourinho to be sacked. grin The press want same. But United board are not going to sack him now.

It is true that Mourinho tactics is now behind the modern coaches, but I believe some like Ferguson believe may be things have just not clicked yet. The pressure is more considering Zidame is available. But what if Zidane comes and things don't improve? Will it not be better to stick with a coach who has dozens of trophies already and would eventually find a way out of the current predicament?

“Then the penalties come, and somebody has to miss. And when I saw it going after the sixth, the seventh (penalty) I knew that we were going to be in trouble with Jones, with Eric (Bailly). I knew we were going to be in trouble then - Mourinho the prophet cheesy
He is trying not to put the blame on one player and thereby demoralize the boy. However, if they practice all round penalty shooting frequently in training, Jones could have done better. He played the penalty just to get it on target on left side of the keeper, not necessarily to beat the goalkeeper. The keeper knowing he was up against a central defender who lacks shooting skills and goal scoring confidence, only needed to watch his leg.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 10:40am On Sep 26, 2018
I watched an extended 13 minutes highlight, match reports and players ratings. Young was praised for his attacking play. I knew that was why Martial enjoyed his day playing ahead of him.

You guys should have a nice day. Mind you Mourinho is not going just yet. So stop the pressure. It is affecting the whole team.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 10:38am On Sep 26, 2018
It was a game that didn't just go our way. The defeat was meant to happen. I didn't watch the match but from highlight we ought to have scored a second goal to kill the game. Derby equalized from a spectacular freekick that ten keepers cannot stop. Then the red card. Without extra time or return leg, it was a game of luck from when we went a man down.

Young played very well and his support made Martial our best player.

Shaw and Martial work better together, Sanchez leaves the wings to struggle for space whefe there's none, that around where the CAM should be i.e. Lingard's position...
But in the league, Shaw has not worked well with anyone. He looks good on his own when he manages to find those spaces to pace forward, but such mostly end with no result.

Attacking flair, quick networking, awareness, heroic defending, Shaw is poor.

This is what happens when try everything possible to defend your argument. Cos you claim Young is better than Shaw, Shaw is now to be blamed for Sanchez's poor performance. Like Sanchez was top notch last season. Smh
Young is obviously better. What I keep reading is that Shaw didn't have a good game, whereas Young was our MOTM in Watford.

You just described Young cos Shaw doesn't hesistate a bit to join the attack...He was very good going forward today and if not for poor finishing, he'd have recorded an assist...
To join attack and to have flair attacking are two different things.

You no understand jor.

When your left back makes you to think more of joining him to defend rather than helping you to build network going forward and providing options, the game will be laboured.

Whoever has played in front of Shaw in the league has suffered. Even Martial and Rashford.

Even when Shaw didn't play was Sanchez not useless?

I can say Sanchez was the one making Shaw useless in this match and not the other way round.
The only time Sanchez has played well was when Young played behind him.

Moreover, I read now Shaw was not staying tight with his opponents.

What I am saying is simple. But people don't want to understand because they already collectively formed an opinion.

Did I not support Mourinho? Is he not improving?

Did I not tell you guys that our players were not fit in the beginning of the season? I saw it in their movement and concentration, but you guys didn't understand. You were shouting Tottenham, Tottenham, Tottenham also had players in world cup. Now Spurs over training in preseason is hurting them.

Go learn ball.

Not everyone who watches football know what they are watching.

It is not by chance that our coaches have picked Young, Blind, Darmian over Shaw over the years. I was one of those who defended Shaw from the first time we bought him. Even when Coogar attacked him and said Shaw appeared to have his upper body bigger than his lower body.

But this guy has yet to prove technicality on the field other than to run and run.

Luke Shaw played just four matches and has made a better impression than almost every player in the team based on consistency even in matches that the team lost. Young and Blind can play all they want, become makeshifts just to be in the team, what matters is that Luke Shaw is a natural and consistent LB and i haven't seen any other person play so well in that position for a long time.
The makeshifts and whatever you call them have constantly benched Shaw from the time of Van Gaal.

How many of those matches Shawn played we won? How many did we do good attacking play from the left side of the attack?

You no know ball. Saying DeGea was at fault for the freekick didn't mean he is not a good keeper.

Young is better than Shaw. I don't expect an average person wey no know ball to know that.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 1:42pm On Sep 16, 2018
Shaw's attacking play is heavily laboured. When he plays, the forward player ahead of him on that left side automatically becomes useless. If he is not getting space to run forward, his networking is slow, predictable and heavily laboured. Needs many touches to make a pass that has been on. Mostly likely to reverse if the pass is not very clear for his left foot. Blind uses one leg, but fluently. Same with Giggs. But Shaw's one leg is not fluent in networking.

Rashford that forgets ball, Shaw attacks the opponent defenders consistently.. He keeps running at them, putting fear in them. You are the first person not liking him, even mourinho likes him
I think those things are from your imaginations and not what we watch this season.

Did you watch when Blind started from the left back for us last season? Did you not see clever play with the team mates while attacking? It is just that he was weak defensively.

In pushing attack we had them in the following order: Blind, Young, Rojo, Shaw, Darmian.

Blind is gone, so Young is the best.

Frequent but useless crossings. Either they patch the opponent or its too long.
Yet they have the most cross accuracies in the EPL.

Valencia in particular comes among the highest in cross accuracy almost all seasons.

Leyqute:
1. L. Shaw compliments the forwards better than A. Young. His runs stretches the opponent. He creates space for attackers in front of him to operate better whilst providing an avenue for attack at the same time.

Young hardly runs. He stands behind his forward waiting for the back pass so he could quickly make that predictive boring pass to the nearest CB or DM.

2. L. Shaw's attacking play is not labored. In fact he is more exciting and direct than Young. Did you see the assist he gave Rashford in England's last game? He knew when to hit the ball and he hit it well. Young dabble in theatrics a lot, sometimes it's annoying.

3. You must be prejudiced against Shaw to make those accusations or you don't watch him often enough, his recent games inclusive. Or maybe you're just a big fan of Ashley Young and would prefer an aging right-footed winger converted to an LB to a young natural left - footed LB.
Shaw and Rashford are the same. They just run straight even if it means running into traffic. It is hard to build attacking network with them. Shaw finds it hard to pass, so he revises and passes backward.

Young is more intelligent with the ball at his feet in the final 3rd. In fact everywhere. He thinks faster, acts faster in tackles and playing.

You will notice that our left side work better when Young and Blind had played than Shaw. Even Rojo is ahead of Shaw in pushing attack on that left side. Shaw was very good before he injured, but that assessment too was against small teams.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 9:00pm On Sep 15, 2018
I saw now that Shaw makes 1 cross in two games, that is 0.5 per game. Ashley Young and Valencia are the ones making frequent crossing of the ball according to stats.

Shaw is more predictable and causes obstacle to fluent attacking play from the left.

Shaw is very good running with the ball, he makes our attack look better.... And it's easier for him to just cross the ball with his left leg, young will first position himself..
You mean those wayward crosses from Shaw? Also his running can be liken to those senseless running of Rashford, they don't help team play. Young run with more sense and he is more dangerous with the ball in his feet in the final third.

Young is not a better attacker than L. Shaw
Young is far better and compliment the forwards better. Luke Shaw attacking play is laboured. I will take even Blind over Shaw if he were around. Fluent passing is a problem for Shaw, so it is hard to play along him on that left. If he got the space to run forward with speed, good. But those spaces don't come often.
