oyb:Erm . . . you do know he's being sarcastic right?? |
Lord give me strength. ![]() |
medjai:Err . . . most Nigerian albums never give you what you expect. I do buy the really good albums though . . . Talk About It, Pentium IX, Thy Album Come, C.E.O. But when it comes to the ones I can't trust like Jesse Jags and KnightHouse, I usually just get it from people. Why buy a wack album for the price of Blueprint III?? Besides, if I get caught downloading a Nigerian album, I'm not breaking any law because they are not copyright protected in the UK. It's like downloading a mixtape. |
Come on guys . . . this is unfair. The money is to be used to build schools in some parts of Africa, it's not cool that you guys are downloading it for free. Besides if you waited for some time, the price would drop like all other Nas albums. I remain loyal to the good cause jare, I'll rather chill till it's out on I-tunes. Mobinga:My own, the reverse is the case . . . I buy American and Brit albums and beg for Nigerian ones. A friend of mine got a letter from the authorities for illegal downloading of copyright protected material . . . I don't want to get caught abeg. |
WOW!!! My review has vanished?? That means y'all will have to wait till Saturday to get another one. I'll need to refresh the movie moments in my head ![]() |

OMO IBO:That's just proof that we need electoral reform immediately after the economic crisis. To get numbers to speak more instead of just Nick Clegg and Cameron in closed door meetings. |
@Katsumoto Nah . . . MPs are like the US Senate. There is a different election for governors in the US. There are different ways to do this proportional representation thing . . . each way they all ensure more equality of voices than what we have now. If my party gets 80% of the votes in the country, they deserve to at least get a minimum of 70% of the power. As I said before, our right to choose our PM should not be limited to where we live. . . it's archaic. It's simple . . . we fuse constituencies into blocs and do the counting. The parties nominate their candidates from each of the blocs . . . people vote knowing that if Lib dems win 50% of all votes in say North East of the UK, they get 50% of the MPs from there. This may mean the BNP get one seat out of 50 . . . cool, they need a voice too, it's a democracy. Th STV system too makes a lot of sense . . . that way, you have more than one choice. Your second choice is worth half a vote in these blocs. At the end of the day, proportionality is one of the key features of democracy . . .winner takes all doesn't ensure that. |
OMO IBO:Men lie, women lie, numbers don't. |
kulgee001:My point is . . . if you want to teach your son how to get a basket clean, give him a brush and some soap, with water and show him. Same way that if you want to get a person clean, show him how to get clean in a way he can relate to that is also straightforward and devoid of unnecessary rites and impositions. The end does not justify the means hear because the means could go on to achieve unnecessary importance in the eyes of the same people you want to change. Step ack and see what I'm saying. |
OMO IBO:He won only 36% of the votes. . . 64% of the country don't want him. |
Katsumoto:The PR system makes quite a bit of sense in the multi-party system we have in the UK. You used George Bush . . . the US is relative more two party than the UK . . . it is either Republican or Dems. Proportional representation is the way forward. . . and yes, the BNP might get a seat or two, but isn't the whole point of democracy the need to give everyone a voice?? The minor parties in the UK have too many members for us to ignore them. . . The winner takes all style will only suit countries like the US. . . Imagine you saying I should move away from where I live just to make my vote count . . . doesn't that show how archaic the system is?? So just because I need to get my voice heard in a democratic country I should get a new place to live . . . come on man. |
Na wa ooh . . . clubbing people in this day and age?? Especially as girls yapa in the words of Vocal Slender. Naija guys too dey eff up. |
Katsumoto:Two words . . . SAFE SEATS. Are you seriously telling me that it's fair that 23% of the country don't get up to 10% power in policy making while 36% gets all the power?? Besides, the 'winner takes all' mentality is bad simply makes some voices muted. If we used STV, I'm so sure Cameron wouldn't have made it. Isn't the point of democracy listening to as many people as possible?? Why should my vote against a party mean nothing just because I live in say . . .a place where Jack Straw was born?? |
candylips:The fact that Conservatives don't like the coalition . . . even people in the Lib Dems think Nick Clegg sold out their policies just to get power. tubabie:Things are obviously not going to be rosy till the Lib Dems get assurance that there will be no election anytime soon. I just want electoral reform . . . it's unfair that the Lib Dems got 23% and still lost seats. My vote just wasted for nothing. |
candylips:I know . . . I wonder why he didn't use his age to his favour when they called it 'Old Politics' He's probably the most hated PM the UK has had since erm . . . Gordon Brown. ![]() |
David Cameron is UK's new prime minister Conservative leader David Cameron has become the UK's new prime minister after the resignation of Gordon Brown. Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg will be his deputy after they agreed to the UK's first coalition government in 70 years. Mr Cameron, who at 43 is the youngest PM in nearly 200 years, vowed to set aside party differences and govern "in the national interest". Mr Clegg said he acknowledged some Lib Dem voters would have doubts about the deal but urged them to "keep faith". Mr Cameron's party won the most seats in the general election last week, but not enough to secure an overall Commons majority, resulting in a hung Parliament. Following hours of talks with the Conservatives on Tuesday, the Lib Dem parliamentary party and its federal executive endorsed the coalition agreement by the required three-quarters majority at a meeting that broke up just after midnight. Speaking minutes later, Mr Clegg said: "I hope this is the start of the new politics I have always believed in - diverse, plural, where politicians of different persuasions come together, overcome their differences in order to deliver good government for the sake of the whole country." He acknowledged there would be problems and "glitches" and, in a message to Lib Dem voters, he added: "I can imagine this evening you'll be having many questions, maybe many doubts, about this new governing arrangement. "But I want to assure you that I wouldn't have entered into this agreement unless I was genuinely convinced that it offers a unique opportunity to deliver the kind of changes you and I believe in. "So I hope you'll keep faith with us, I hope you will let us prove to you that we can serve you and this country with humility, with fairness at the heart of everything we do, and with total dedication to the interests and livelihoods of everyone in Great Britain." http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/election_2010/8675265.stm |

Na wa ooh . . . Saucekid released album listing and Nairaland crashed because Seun choked out of shock. What will happen when he releases the full album?? Facebook will crash too?? ![]() |
Erm . . . if I really wanted to wash a basket, there's a new invention called soap. It's so much easier than mumu-ishly trying to get water to fill a basket. If you want to change someone's life, change it and don't deceive them into changing for the 'better'. |
luizworld:Yeah . . . same thing. |
luizworld:It just means 'it's cool' or 'no biggie' Sounds nice doesn't it?? ![]() |
She knows waaay too much bout me. She just called and was like . . . She: 'Watchu up to El . . . lemme guess, watching Lion King and typing on that your boring website at 2am again.' ![]() Me: 'Not exactly . . . I'm watching Lion King 2' ![]() |
