Am equally confused, the Chinese market is gradually being saturated by pure sine wave option, even souer are beginning to go into pure sine wave production, yet almighty Mercury sits back and smokes cigars. I could understand they're aggressive pricing regime at one time, when their inverters were being sold for about 19-21k but now same specs and models are being sold for almost 45k an amount which would get a pure sine wave microtek inverter, so why would I want do a modified sine wave for the same amount?

Why do they even make modified sine wave inverters?
Since there are widespread claims that modified inverters aren't as versatile in utility as the pure sine, I expect these popular companies to find ways of making pure sine inverters cheaper.

Or is there something about modified sine wave that is so special?

The Quanta spec sheet refers to a 'freshening' charge of 13.8v per 12v battery - I think same for absorb too.

This unusually low charge voltage gave me many sleepless nights but after much questions and research, someone here @McTrinity I believe posted a manual that indicated absorb up to 14.2v max was okay - I had always used 14.1v to charge so this information gave me great relief

So the 200ah version has different bulk charging and float charging voltages/requirements?

This is the 600W Pure sine wave inverter I was talking about. It works well so far, idle consumption is about 7-10w from the manufacturer's claims and I think it's true.
The fan kicks in when the load exceeds about 50w although it gets warm when using with light load. No humming sound with led bulbs and fan unlike before when I used an APC 650va Ups. The output voltage has never exceeded 225V.

I paid 20k for it from AliExpress.

The weight is close to 2kg which is good for a 600W inverter 'cos I assume that means it is made of above-average components. It comes with two extra fuses in case you blow the follow-come during your experiment.

Majek's battery is very low at the moment.
