Thank you for reminding those on Nairaland about the monorail project, which said MOU was signed in 2010.

However, it is ignorance or mischief that you only mentioned the monorail, without letting us know the details, or terms of the MOU.

Anyway, just to help you, note that among the terms of said MOU, was that the company would provide the funds, execute the project and manage it for sometime before handing it over to the state government. Did it happen? No. Who is to blame between the company that failed to play its part and the government that player its own part?

I hope this little information shared with you can help you and others who are already misinformed.

We agree that it is appropriate to build such infrastructures. But what’s the use of such infrastructures in the face of extreme hunger, taxation and insecurity in the nation?

Is it not appropriate to first tackle insecurity completely, get farmers back to their lands and ensure that citizens can have food at easily affordable prices?

Is it not getting clearer that more money goes to the pocket of the already wealthy, while the poor suffer more, with no food on their tables? Even citizens cannot afford that start up capital for the suggested kulikuli and akara business, per iya alakara.

That one can be very annoying. You look at the bunches of plantain waiting for harvest and choose a day. Just one day to go and one thief goes there in the night to harvest. It makes one nearly run mad.

A bag typically bag can have up to 100 pieces depending on the sizes. Is she sells 100 pieces at 500, that’s 50k. You remove her costs, i.e, purchase price, transport, charcoal and decide her profit for the day, which typically does not exceed 8 - 10, depending on the location. If she is able to manage with the fire from her charcoal to sell, she can make more. By the way, sales also fluctuate. Somedays sales can be tasking and you find the corn seller praying hard and almost begging customers.
