Creamypie:You will not vote, na for Nairaland e end. You no know how far with the story. Already the process has gone very far and enjoys widespread support from Delta North and the rest of the SE. So if you are from Delta North as a whole, i.e, Ukwuani, Igbanke, Agbor, especially, kuku know say you are an Igbo from the South east. If you do tufiakwa, na for nothing. Those are majorly the people who claim that they are not Igbo, yet they speak Igbo in one form or the other and bear Igbo names. By the way, if you no like, there’s a process called de-naturalization. You can kuku change your name and relocate to Benin or Ijebu Ode. If you like you can relocate to Okerenkoko, Agenebode, Ughelli or Agbaroh. |
Ezewuzie01:I think so. Carving Anioma state out of Delta state makes more sense than carving another Igbo state out of the Southeast with five states already. Taking Anioma into the Southeast will be more beneficial to the Igbo nation. It is not hidden that having Asaba as the capital of Delta state was never supported by the others in Delta Central and Delta South. When the old Bendel state was partitioned into two states, IBB’s government should have completed the partition into three states because of homogeneity. Primordial politics player its part and here we are today. The fear of domination by the other parts of the SE paled its own part too. Even some people of Delta Central who claim that they are not Igbos are either ignorant of history proving their ancestry or are simply mischievous. The efforts of Senator Ned Nwoko and those who started the agitation long ago should be commended and supported until the process succeeds. |
Exousiang01:They attended a campaign event, as clearly stated in the post. If the Chiefs did not mention the name of the Monarch at the campaign ground, then they were acting absolutely within their own rights, which the Monarch breached by suspending them. Freedom of association is enshrined in the constitution. Now the Ojora should be talking about the communities within his kingdom. The whole of Ijora which falls within his authority is a slum. It has been so since Nigeria became a country. Apapa and Ajeromi also fall within his area. Some parts of Orile and probably Amukoko fall within his kingdom, I think. He should concern himself with bringing development to those areas that are complete slum. It is improper to witch-hunt the Chiefs who probably were invited by friends or family to the event. The Monarch cannot force his choice party on people in the area, as those areas are LP strongholds too. It is a shame that our politics is so sore. Democracy thrives when people have alternatives and can choose the candidates that they prefer. Leaders must not force people on us, starting with councillors. We do not know our councillors or LG chairmen. LG elections concern the grassroots. Let the citizens have the freehand to choose the LG leaders. Monarchs should face their kingdoms everywhere in the whole country. |
What a shame? Imagine that such a thing happens in an LP controlled state? I thought that monarchs were not supposed to get involved in politics. Anyway, they can keep promoting LP with such wrong moves. |
You advise people to apply through the NIS website making it so simple, yet it is not so. Get to any immigration office, speak to any immigration officer about a passport. Next thing they take you to a business center to fill the forms and process online using the computers of the business centers. How can they talk of privacy, when their officials stand in breach of the rules and do not care. They must first put an end to immigration officers taking applicants to business centers to fill forms and ensure that all process are done within their offices. |
DeathParade:Stop beating about the bush please. I am very certain what I am talking about, except you want to keep telling yourself that lie. Once again, I can stand you cannot lecture me on Indian culture, people and history. You can elect to discuss it face to face with me. Go to the streets and know what it feels like in the streets, with FRRO chasing and arresting both the innocent and guilty. If the same is visited on Indians in Africa, how will it feel? Whether it is Gandhi or Ghandi, it remains the same family that I am talking about. If there’s a rookie here, it is you. You can only tell uninformed people that Nehru and the Ghandis are unrelated, or you just want to use it to fill the pages. Those of us who are not Indians know it. Unfortunately, you do not know that aside from Indians, there are people who have followed the history of not just the Indian nation, but the rest of Asia, not just by reading only, but physically visiting. Once again, I put it to you that there’s absolutely nothing that you want to tell me about the Indian nation, people and culture. I have not only read Indian history, I have followed Indian history, people and culture, pre and post colonialism. That said, stop deceiving yourself. If Indians have been saying NO to countries that have rejected them visa application, they will not repeated find their way back to Nigeria or other African countries, where they find more favorable financial packages than they find in India. Please ask anyone walking the streets of Delhi, Mumbai, or even Chandigarh, if Indian citizens do not spend a lot of time eating chapati, with coffee and reading newspapers in search of jobs in African countries. Those who find it costlier or more difficult to get into Europe or the USA, make their way to Africa or middle eastern countries, in search of better lives. Nobody blames them at all, as it is within their rights as humans to find very good living conditions. Afterall, no one should expect perfect living conditions in a nation of over 1 billion people. Not everyone in the country has the opportunity to live fantastic lives. If Indians have said NO to the Chinese, why then is China the biggest trading partner of the Indians? Read the below: India and China have a complex economic relationship, with trade and investment flowing between the two nations despite geopolitical tensions. Here are some key aspects: - Trade Volume: China is India's largest trading partner, with bilateral trade reaching $136.2 billion in 2023 and $138.48 billion in 2024, with China's exports to India valued at $120.48 billion and imports from India at $17.997 billion. -Trade Imbalance: India has a significant trade deficit with China, with imports from China rising by 3.24% to $101.7 billion and exports increasing by 8.7% to $16.67 billion in the fiscal year 2024. - Investment: Chinese investment in India has shown signs of recovery, with China's direct investment in India reaching $42.05 million in 2023, a 324.4% year-on-year increase. China's cumulative direct investment stock in India stood at $3.21 billion as of 2023. - Key Sectors: China is a vital supplier of industrial goods to India, particularly in: - Electronics: China exports machinery, components, and intermediate goods to support India's infrastructure development and consumer electronics demand. - Pharmaceuticals: India relies heavily on China for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), with imports valued at $2.288 billion in 2023, a 27.75% year-on-year increase. - Renewable Energy: China's strength in price-competitive manufacturing makes it a reliable source for inputs in green tech. - Mutual Investment: Indian companies have established operations in China across various sectors, including pharmaceuticals and manufacturing, while over 100 Chinese companies are active in India, particularly in infrastructure and electronics. -Diplomatic Efforts: The two countries have made efforts to improve relations, including the 31st round of the China-India border affairs consultation mechanism, which led to a mutual agreement on partial troop withdrawal and initiatives to revive cross-border trade” Why has Narendra Modi been cross crossing Europe, Asia in search of improved diplomatic and economic relationships with the countries that he has visited? He will be visiting Ghana and Namibia starting from tomorrow and the 9th. Visa is not a right, but a privilege. However, once again, do not expect to benefit in leaps from me and expect that I should be oppressed by you in return. |
brain54:The fellow long lost respect and is just hanging. The same delusion against Tinubu, yet begging for an appointment. If the same Peter Obi wins, he will beg. We all know that begging for appointments is his stock in trade. He has never and can never contest an election in his Itsekiri homeland. Someone who was not faithful to GEJ. Reno Omokri was one of GEJ’s PAs. The same Atiku collaborated with Buhari and Tinubu to remove GEJ from power, the government Reno Omokri was serving in. When GEJ lost, he joined Atiku, who was in APC, when GEJ was removed. He became one of Atiku’s PAs. They went into the 2023 election against Tinubu’s APC and lost. The same Reno Omokri abandoned Atiku and started praising Tinubu, the man that he happily always called drug lord. Who should listen to such an inconsistent fellow. Painfully for him, Obi does not respond to him. He is deeply pained. Ignoring him should be enough to tell him who he is… a yeye person. A man who cannot influence his own people or even have any influence in Delta state, is telling Nigerians in the north not yo vote for Obi. He is not a politician. He has no stake. He has nothing in the nort as a whole. While he is deceiving himself, he should refer to the last elections and see the influence of Obi in Plateau, Nassarawa and Kaduna states. Please ge should be told to try out his hands in the local government elections in Delta state as a councillor first. |
fergie001:Sorry Fergie, but I choose to disagree with you now. Looking at the way it stands, I think that several big players have woken up and will compete against Wike. As it stands, none will allow Wike have his way in that simple way anymore. I do not think that he will be allowed to pick the next secretary and chairman anymore. They all have seen the handwriting and will fight him money for money. Mbah knows that he is in danger with the image of Obi and LP looming large behind him. For me it may amount to political suicide bring Enugu, a complete PDP state to APC. A wrong move will simple play until the hands of Labour Party. If Obi leaves LP, then his crowd will move with him to the next party. In all, let’s see how they all play do their political arithmetic. |
fergie001:Finally it boiled down to what I had been talking about. There was no need to be careless. Wike was waiting for the opportunity to further decimate the party. The issue of the secretary finally resolved and now to the next NEC meeting in July. They found common grounds. Now to plan how to cut off Wike’s vice like grip over the party and minimize the losses. |
ratcock:A man who was one of the PAs to GEJ. He was with GEJ when Atiku co-joined forced with Buhari and Tinubu to remove his then boss GEJ. All the while he was calling Tinubu all sorts of horrible names. When GEJ lost, he wormed his way into the camp of Atiku and became a PA again, still abusing Tinubu. Now he has started eulogizing the same Tinubu. If Obi wins, he will abandon Tinubu quickly and seek for the usual PA job. I think we should call him either Chief PA or President of the association of PAs. |
DeathParade:At least your tone is more respectful now than your previous response. Without having clear knowledge of India, I would never dare talk about the country. Please note that my father had business transactions with Indian companies and individuals since the 1970s, importing bicycles from India and selling in Nigeria. Also he has other Indian associates in England, who engaged in the trade of rice, frozen fish and spare parts for vehicles. We have a long business and personal relationships with Indians, so I know what I am talking about. I make the comment about Hindu nationalism, not in a derogatory manner or disrespectfully, but in response to your comment about insurgency in India. It was simply to let you know that when put on a scale with insurgencies in West Africa particularly, the measure is clear, in that it is worse far worse on this side. However, the fact of the issues about cultural values, has not swept aside the challenges with the minorities in the country. It is glaring for all to see, aside from other forms of groups troubling the areas previously mentioned. Sure, African nations are beginning to wake up to the realization of the many years of abuse from foreign nations. However, it must be noted that there is a form of neo colonialism going on presently with Asians getting deeply involved. Indians play a major role, just like the Chinese. Africans are beginning to take a look at the erosion of the cultural values and civilization by foreign nations, beginning with the tampering with their religious beliefs. Hopefully you have heard several times that some of the world’s rarest earth minerals are found in Africa. Why should Asians, Europeans and Americans sleep, when they know that Africans can be exploited endlessly? I am not too particular about that. But I have insisted that for the sake of fairness, immigration rules should be with some human face in India. Granted that Indians want to retain their culture and civilization, consideration must be given to foreigners who for legitimate reasons overstay they visas. It is the practice everywhere you go. If there is no way to change that, then the Dubai model can be applied, with foreigners allowed visas of 5 - 10 years. The same applies in Malaysia, where foreigners can apply for 10 years visas if they meet the required financial standard. That way, FRRO does not have to run around the streets with their tiny jeeps looking for those to arrest and deport for flimsy excuses. The fact remains that relationships between two or more nations cannot and must not be conducted on the bases of biases, with one nation wanting to lock out people from other nations, residing in their own country to either work, or do genuine businesses. You cannot say that it is up to us to make our decision to lock Indians out of our country, when daily at the newspaper stands on the streets of India, your citizens are seeking for job opportunities everywhere. Nigeria is a prime target because salaries are able to pay their bills in Nigeria and more than enough can be remitted to India to keep the family going. You cannot be protecting your civilization on one hand and expect to export same civilization to my own country, benefitting from my country and not wanting me to profit from yours. Certainly that’s improper. Again, India is not a hamit nation like China before the turn of the 18th century. I made reference to google because you first mention it to me. You asked me to research Sonia Ghandi and I responded to you. What you do not know is that I followed Jawaharlal Nehru and the Ghandis in history for many years, studying their brands of politics and leadership. There’s nothing to tell me about Sonia Ghandi, as I followed her personally, including the entire Ghandi family, starting with Mohandas Karamchad Ghandi. I can discuss the Ghandis all day. |
That’s the way to go. That should create additional jobs for citizens. |
Putindbutt:No. He’s making his family pay the price for his evil acts against the families of his victims. One reaps what he sows. He should not be expect to make others weep and then escape from weeping himself. Watching his family get wiped away one by one should make him speedily surrender, otherwise he’ll have nothing left. |
Good to hear. Men are waking up and taking their destinies in their hands. They know that it’s either they fight or they die. Hopefully their efforts are supported by government and any planned saboteur among them is eliminated speedily. Congratulations to citizens who are beginning to breathe the air of freedom. Hopefully such efforts can be replicated in the other parts of the country against herdsmen and other forms of terrorists. Very good news to hear. |
DeathParade:Can you please show me the lie in all that I said Mr. Indian man? Don’t overstay your welcome, yet you have Indians who have long overstayed their welcome in African countries and still remain there. Such hypocrisy! Is the reality on the streets in India the same as your google based submission? Or as an Indian national you rely also on google to inform you about happenings on the streets of the country? Do Africans especially have any regard in the eyes of Indian authorities right there in India? Oga, stop deceiving yourself. You are certainly a Nigerian, who is poorly informed of real events on the streets of India. Your idea of immigration is very well lacking in all real proofs. At best you can only be an Indian who left his “civilization” in search of better living in Nigeria. Indians fight a war to preserve their civilization and yet venture away from their own country, with their so called civilization to other countries. If it was so good out there in the country, why venture away in such magnitude? Indians can keep their civilization to themselves and let others stay peacefully in their nations. While Indians are not Africans, you find Indians everywhere in Africa, securing African citizenships with ease. Please tell us how many Africans have obtained Indian citizenships in the last decade, as referenced by you. Can you please tell us how many Nigerians, central, north and South Africans who have obtained Indian citizenship in the last decade? You can also google that. Which African country was spared the “millenniums” of ruling by foreigners? All African countries suffered the effects of colonialism. Now it is the invasion of Indians and other nations. We know the issue with Naxalism, which is not common to India only. We know about long standing issue with Pakistan. We know that the rise in Hindu nationalism has been an issue with the minority Muslims and Christians. We know about the issue in Manipur and ISIS.But these all pale in significance to what happens in West Africa, yet it is far easier to obtain citizenships in African countries for Indians. Truthfully, I am not in the position to dictate to the Indian government about their immigration rules. However I am entitled to my opinion about certain worrisome aspects. Shutting the mouth in the face of such concerns becomes an issue of its own. If people shut their mouths, then leaders carry on as they wish. If you googled the Indian immigration policies, how were you not able to also look up the Nigerian immigration or citizenship rules. For your information the rules are made flexible inspite of the duration, enabling foreigners take their time to regularize their documents after the long stay. No one is ever molested, except they are caught in criminal acts. Nowadays it is common for Indian FRRO to pick up Africans at random, detain and deport them, even if their are not found in any criminal act. |
fergie001:But you know that fellow never has reasonable things to say. Well now that they are congregating somewhere else, they are within the ambit of the law, as freedom of association and movement is allowed. However, I somehow envisaged that it would come to this. I had the assumption that Damagun was already aligned with the Makinde side. Let’s see how it goes today. Back to the court, I assume for PDP. I have just one question: Why is the party so docile in the face of several members of the state and national assemblies who have decamped to APC? |
SmartyPants:So if the person has several PAs, who should he listen to please? Governors, just like Presidents have several SAs and SSAs, which of them should have his ears more? Wike at a point employed 200,000 SAs. Which of them has Wike’s ears? Or did Wike have a special PA on selection and advise? If he has 5 or more PAs, which of them should be considered more influential. Tinubu has several PAs for example. So you assume that with PAs, his ability to take decisions personally is influenced by one PA or the other? Oga why na? Sorry for ya small na. |
SmartyPants:Hahaha. I just see you as one who attempts to bluff his way out of the clear reality of the matter. First refer to you previous comments. The “meaningless back and forth” is orchestrated by you. “Obviously there would be a central team responsible for collecting and submitting…”. Thankfully you stated this yourself. If that was so, would it then no be clear to you that Reno’s job ended with receiving the CV and forwarding to whoever, including the Presidential candidate, who would vet and attach same to other documents, for onward presentation to INEC? For your information bro, Reno Omokri was too little for that assignment. As clearly already mentioned years back, OBJ recommended Obi. Such a position was too big for a little known and inexperienced person like Reno Omokri, to as little as chip in a word. Atiku clearly stated in 2023 that he was handed 3 potential VP candidates to choose from. Why did Reno Omokri not tell him who to pick as his then PA too? In 1999, OBJ had 5 potential VP candidates, including Atiku himself. Where was little boy Reno? Tinubu submitted a list of 5 candidates and advised on Osinbanjo, who was his preferred candidate and handed over to Buhari. That’s what POLITICAL ONLY HEAVYWEIGHTS do. When political heavyweights are talking, where do you expect Reno as a PA to be? By the way, why has Reno Omokri not tried to contest at least a local government election in his Itsekiri land, not to talk of Delta state as a whole? Why does he always have to act like an opportunistic football striker, who waits at the edge of the penalty box for others to do the hard work, and pass the ball to him to score? |
DeathParade:So you do not know that on this forum, some of the people who you meet, have first hand experience about the issues talked about? You are looking at google and I am talking with experience as one who has visited and spent time in that country. You can continue with google if you choose, or you can learn from people who tell you what’s going on with the Indian immigration rules. If 21,000 people have become citizens in one decade, does that not show you how poor rigid the process is? We are talking of millions of citizens from the rest of the world and not just Nigerians. India has a population of over 1.3 billion people and yet such poor amount of people have become citizens. Nigeria has 260 million people and with our rules, foreigners are well protected. Do you want to talk of USA and Europe, where Indians scramble to get citizenships? You may contact the Nigerian high commission in India for verification and not google. That’s even more straight forward. Foreigners may become Indian citizens by naturalisation after residing in the country for at least 12 years and renouncing any previous nationalities. This is the rule, yet it is extremely hard. With that rule, should people who intend to become citizens not have some documents to protect them, while they wait for the process to conclude? Members of certain religious minority communities from neighbouring countries qualify for a reduced residence requirement of six years, yet even their Pakistani, Bangladeshi and Sri Lankan neighbors find it near impossible to achieve. I am not aggrieved and there is no imagination here. I do not require and I never needed Indian nationality. I am telling you the reality, as experienced first hand. You may seek for someone else who either has visited or spent time in India to tell you. Again, I have interacted with Indians right from when I was a little boy, right in Nigeria, India and other countries where I have visited. I know them as I have done business with them. |
SmartyPants:This is very funny. “ But where did I say Reno was the decider? It is you who should do better than obvious strawman arguments. I said he was the likely the convincer” The above showed clearly how you’ve continuously contradicted yourself. On one hand you try to convince readers that Reno was in charge and on the other hand you said the above. That’s truly funny. I am shell shocked that you asked if the job of the VP requires the candidate to submit an application. That’s a very embarrassing comment to make, coming from a young Nigerian like you. So you expect the Presidential candidate and his Vice to submit which documents to INEC? Who employs the President and his Vice? They employ themselves by your words? Do you not know that the VP candidate MUST tender his CV to the candidate, who in turn will submit it to the party. All required documents to be attached with the forms to be submitted to INEC? Na wah for you bros. So you think that aside from sitting down one on one, CVS must not be submitted? If Tinubu and Shettima did not submit CVS, would they be there today? You dey funny too much my friend. So you do not know that politicians at that level hire PAs who handle such issues? I wonder the basis of your continued argument, in the face of facts showed to you. I see that you are truly thinking straight as you earlier said to someone. |
SmartyPants:It is perfectly normal for bosses to ask those who are in search of employment to send their CVs to them through their PAs. That’s part of the job schedule of the PA. He’s there to attend to such personal matters, as the representative of the boss. Now that in no way translates to the PA’s claim that he facilitated the employment. It will amount to a breach of confidentiality by the PA and possibly earn him a sack, if he remains with that same boss. This is not a matter for inexperienced people to talk about. Reno’s received instruction was simple. He showed it in the email. The instruction was “receive the CV”. Next would be to forward to the boss for review and decision. It did not translate to facilitation to employ. The instruction did not include asking Reno Omokri to scrutinize. Read the below: “A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Monday, gave insight into the emergence of the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s running mate on the PDP ticket in the 2019 elections. The member of the Strategic Communications Directorate of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Anthony Ehilebo, who made a live appearance on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily in 2023, said former President Olusegun Obasanjo recommended Obi for the slot. “In 2019, he supported our candidate, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, but I’ll tell you a backstory that people hardly know. People don’t even know that he was the one that recommended his present candidate of choice to Atiku Abubakar as a condition for supporting him in 2019. “That was the plan: ‘have these two people run on the platform, so that you [Atiku] can mentor him and by the time he comes of age, he’ll be able to [run for president],” |
So where is the evidence? Oga said send your cv to Reno and he did that. How does it translate to Reno Omokri facilitating the arrangement? What a meaningless claim. The same Reno Omokri was the PA to Goodluck Jonathan. He was with Goodluck Jonathan when Atiku joined Tinubu and Buhari to remove Jonathan from power. When Jonathan left, Reno Omokri joined Atiku who teamed up to remove Jonathan. Atiku contested three times since then and lost. The same Reno Omokri left Atiku to team up with Tinubu, a man that he made so many derogatory remarks against. Is it not time to tell himself that he’s a shameless fellow? |
beerfraud:Very important for you to go there. Bigger population, more skulls to hunt for you to improve your juju. Unfortunately as your work na to trek up and dan, you no fit see shishi to go. |
DeathParade:Look, visa renewal, citizenship, whatever, they all should be opportunities granted to people of other nations to stay legitimately in their country. While others provide such opportunities for Indians, they cannot continue to make themselves a hamit nation. They have had an American Vice President and a British Prime minister. Such opportunities should be permitted to people of other nations. If they can reside in other countries, renewing their visas easily and getting citizenships, while should they shut out others from their country? |
beerfraud:You see how your mouth come report you so? So gala selling pays you well? Always remember to carry your nylon bag along. One day na Lawma go help you return to ya village. |
beerfraud:How can you see? How can you know? Have you ventured out of your one room one window house? Anyway, since you cannot afford transport fare, how can you talk about travelling around the country, not to talk of away from the country? |
beerfraud:Abi. Maybe they prefer that you use human head, body and sacrifices to develop their country. Do you know that they live such things. You can quickly join them with that your line of trade. |
2cribz:You dey avoid devil, yet you carry machete for hand to fight? No be you be the devil so? Wetin you for take the machete do? You wan cut palm tree or you wan clear grass? Wetin concern machete inside your car? Abi you be farmer? Body dey pepper everybody. We must all take an easy and let to treat others out there as if they are family. Be tolerant and slow to anger. |
Nukilia:That’s his medal of honor! That hangman’s rope on his neck. The fight was sorted and everyone thought there was peace, but the wicked and evil minded fellow felt that he must deal with the fellow for challenging him. That’s the identity of a cultist. Supremacy. If he did not leave his mark, he would not be respected. He went for the kill openly. Now he can no longer kill. While in prison for the rest of his life, he will reside with fellow killers. Now he will live most of his left after his sentencing with the everyday fear of being called by the hangman to get the rope to his neck. |
Some Indians are busy in the streets of Indian job hunting at the newspaper stands and targeting opportunities in Nigeria. While their wages in India are very poor, they look out for Nigeria where they can earn better salaries and remit to their country. A lot of the same Indians and Chinese reside in Nigeria illegitimately and unmolested by authorities. Many of them too to known to embezzle company funds and yet are not arrested. Most Nigerians in India are not involved in any crime. It is only a minority who get involved. Indian government unfortunately makes renewal of visas very difficult in their country, otherwise nationals of other countries will not run into visa problems of overstay with the immigration. Knowing how expensive tickets and visa processes are, some choose to wait to do the shipments over periods of time, leading to overstay. The problem must be addressed by the Indian government or parliament. It is absolute selfishness. While Indians are citizens of several other nationals, they hardly permit people of other nations be ine their citizens. |
SeeWahala:As you dey talk of young ladies, why you no talk of yourself and other young men? As una dey sag so, dey carry blokos for left hand up, dey do hand like hanger to sag well well, una no know say that one sef na offence? As una dey carry shirt up dey waka for street to show chest, una no know say na offence? Make una no make mistake think say na only woman dem wan catch. Una sef join. As una dey hold big igbo for finger, na wahala. Colorado to smile am enter street dey bend like tree we breeze wan blow fall down, una don enter am there. |
