Catapault:The National Theatre was returned to its original condition when it was built. The A/Cs were chilling and the entire area very beautiful and serene at completion and for some years too. When Lagos was observing the odd and even number days for vehicles in the late 70s and early 80s, Lagos state air conditioned buses packed there, as that was the area to get buses into Lagos island. Sadly, as is customary with our leaderships, they completely failed with maintaining the place. It became the residence for criminals, rats, rodents and insects. The location was originally discovered by the Murtala/OBJ government and completed early enough by OBJ for Festac ‘77. Stories had it that the place originally belonged to the Ibru family, but was acquired after negotiation by the then Federal government for the purpose of Festac ‘77. Many thanks to Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, who left in 1979, a very solid economy and great infrastructures as the then military head of state. |
Righteousness2:This is hypocritical please. The same you used to refer to America as Nomerica. What has suddenly changed. You told us stories of how your Nomerica was on the path of destruction. How has America returned to the real super power status by your calculation? Or you were blabbling jargons without knowing what you were talking about? |
TempleHouse:While LP scored 6.101m in the Presidential election within such little time, Kwakwanso/NNPP scored 1.496m, after years of efforts. If LP is regarded as Andrew’s liver salt, the NNPP with all the red caps must be described as MUMU liver salt. That should be the correct thing, right? |
Is that not the truth from Madam Ezekwesili? Let’s hear the man’s response to that. |
That’s more than enough to cost the reckless policeman his job. I believe that if he has not received a query, he should receive one before the end of this week. |
What a very wicked and evil minded tenant. Now he has lost the money, his freedom and peace of mind. For the rest of his life he will not live anymore in a proper house. |
Godsonkemz:It has become history in Anambra state. Before enacting the new law and introducing Agunechemba, people were already moving freely. Touting has become history in Anambra state also. If you carry weapons as a non state actor around Anambra state, you do so at your personal risk. Thanks to the pro active efforts of Gov Soludo. |
Iweakbro:Thank you grandma/grandpa for calling me a kid. If you lived in Asaba for 14 years and turned yourself into Ajala the traveler, going around Nigeria and then returning since six years ago, how does that show that you have knowledge of events within and around Asaba and Ogwashi uku? Not having knowledge of when Ogwashi uku polytechnic came about is more than enough evidence that you know nothing about Ogwashi uku. Maybe you need to meet me physically to determine if you are within my age bracket. Having found that one out of the suspects is from your state, is that not enough to show you that criminals abound in Delta state? Instead of wasting your time in debating what you know nothing about, why not ask those who are better informed? |
Kaseem Afegbua was an insider too, in his capacity as PA to IBB for many years. |
Iweakbro:So now you have evidence that your brothers in Delta north participated. If kidnapping is a recent thing in Delta state then note four things: 1. You are not from Delta state as you claim. 2. You are from Delta state and yet far from Delta state. 3. You are one of those who visit home once in 20 years. 4. You do not have an idea what’s happening in Delta state. My advise is that you simply ask those who know more about Delta state to tell you more. You can also ask an elderly person for more information. By the way, if you have no one to ask either in Ogwashi uku or Asaba, I can give you people to call. Again, if you visit you may see me to take you around to see for yourself. For your information, just as happened in Anambra state, Igbuzo people have taken their own step. Cheers. |
Iweakbro:If the killers of the late Hon Azuka were from the other side of the river, how does it equate to your claim that such criminals are Fulanis and South easterners only? Ogwashi Uku Polytechnic as it was originally called was established way back in 1983 and closed down in 1986. It was reopened and became the Delta State Polytechnic Ogwashi-Uku, as established by Law, 2002, under James Ibori as the governor. There was absolute peace and quiet in Ogwashi uku and environs from that year, until students started filing up the place. Building hostels began and cultists/criminals of all forms invaded Ogwashi uku. So for your information criminal activities did not start “a few months back”, as you said. It has been on going for close to twenty years and citizens of Ogwashi uku and neighboring communities have been lamenting about it. Once again, tell your governor to be pro active about crimes in not just Asaba and Ogwashi uku, but the whole of Delta state. Your link is not necessary because it proves nothing. Note the names of the two criminals who escaped: 1.Ikemefuna Ossai from Delta State 2. Chinedu Okoli from Imo State. |
Iweakbro:Just stop that accusation there. Your video evidence certainly was conincidental in that those captured at thst very moment were those who you accused. But you do not know Ogwashi uku and other areas more than us here. I wonder how you people are easily able to attribute all the problems in Asaba, Ogwashi uku and their environs to people on the other side of the Niger. For your information, Ogwashi uku was a peaceful town until Ogwashi uku polytechnic was restored there. Cultism and other crimes largely were restricted to Warri, Sapele, Abraka because of the university and Agbor because of the college of education. The same went for Asaba and the challenge Asaba faced and still faces is cultism. Do you want to overlook the menace of trouser sagging yahoo boys all over Asaba, Igbuzor, Okpanam, Ogwashi uku, Isele Azagba, Isele Uku and Kwale. In Kwale, go and ask the actions taken by the community over yahoo boys menace. Development and such infrastructures come with their own disadvantages. With people of the area selling lands at cheaper rates, people from all over the places bought and built. Ogwashi uku for example has people speaking different languages, as against the Ogwashi Igbo only which was predominant up till the early 2000s. Asaba in its capacity as the state capital, has citizens of all parts of the state owning properties there. The same goes for Okpanam road area, which is now the symbol of the beauty of the state capital. Everyone owns properties there, irrespective of tribe and religion. Asaba started facing the challenges of crime long ago. It started with selling of lands to different people and guns shots everywhere. The advent of yahoo brought its challenge along with cultism. Growth brought crimes, originating from inside the polytechnic in Ogwashi uku. With different cult groups came armed robbery, and now kidnapping, just like it happened in Abraka and Agbor. Abraka was a very fierce area in the 90s, with cultism/robbery with some students spending as much as 14 years to graduate. So in Ogwashi uku, it was the students and their friends from different locations. Now it has gone beyond that with people from different parts of Ogwashi uku and other areas included. Ubulu uku, a very peaceful town had one of its Obis hacked to death by allegedly Fulani herdsmen. Again, many of the agberos around the bridgehead there are Igbos of Delta state, who speak what is termed central Igbo. If in doubt, please visit the area between Oko junction and Asaba head bridge to find out. Now I am not in anyway exonerating anyone. But I simply think that it is inappropriate to generalize those who commit crimes in the areas mentioned by you. The governor of Delta state has to wake up to his responbilities in the state. He appears to overlook Delta north. Hopefully he can be proactive as Mr. Soludo in Anambra state. |
press9jatv:Kangaroo ko ketekete ni. How can the pot call the kettle black? Is this not the same Osun state that Buhari famously told us that APC used remote control to win for Oyetola that year? |
Well let’s see images of different locations please. |
No so Man U take go relegation this year? |
IyfeNamikaze:Except her lawyer can prove to the court that it was involuntary manslaughter, she faces life imprisonment. Proving to the court that it was involuntary will give her lesser sentence. So sad. Her education is in tatters. In her first year, she left her studies to focus on a boyfriend. Very sad for the bright future of the young woman lost. |
Softmirror:Can you now see what baba so pe has done to your life? |
This book is a must read for me. I will also read it over and over again as I did others. |
OldNORSE:100%. |
Let’s see how it goes with PDP and APC after this. |
hafeeanubasy:Even a mumu is better than you. |
YoungLionken:Without security, how can you either get to your place or work or find a job? When security was horrible you all lamented. Now you are asking for jobs without security. Make una get small sense. |
CodeTemplar:So to you, flamboyant lifestyles without backing source is meant for the poor? What a shame. So you do not know that the poor must work legitimately to make it in life? You do not know that your lifestyle must be seen to be commensurate with your income? If that southern sharia sanitizes the society, so be it. If you have no visible source of income and exhibit an extravagant lifestyle, keep away from Anambra state. |
Checkwell:He should not call them publicly, yet their sitting is public? Yet the issue was public? Yet they are our representatives? Or we do not have the rights as citizens to speak with them freely and possibly find a solution to the issue? How else can we get closer to our representatives if not forums like this? You cannot meet them in their constituency offices. You cannot meet them at home. You cannot meet them anywhere except when they campaign, or do public stunts to hand out peanuts. Ordinary President was correct. Haba. |
Alright. |
Parydelegate:Yes. APC opted out of it. |
Meanwhile Ismail Omipidan used to be Oyetola’s Chief press secretary. I expected the comment in favour of APC. |
press9jatv:Kangaroo ko, ketekete ni. By the way, do not forget that APC opted out yesterday. Kuku close your eyes. |
Akpakomiza2:When you see me, you’ll know what upgrading is. |
Akpakomiza2:Go find satchet drink small. If I show for Benin next week I carry you go drink small. |
Akpakomiza2:Akpakomiza this particular one pass you by far. If you dey Bini, go find small beer drink this afternoon. After you tell us how far with Okpebolo and Ighodalo. |
Paraman:If you have been to those states, including Lagos, tell us what you know. |
