masseratti:Apata memorial is not on a low land na. Bros talk true. Approaching from Okota roundabout entails driving a little uphill. If you approach through Chemist, na the same. If you approach through Ilasamaja na the same. However, Okota has issues because it is on the low land. |
Lanruze:Na Itsekiri man o. No be a Urhobo man. |
OkpaNsukkaisBae:A man who could not hold his family together still dey get mouth to accuse other people. No be shameless person be that? |
Antichristian2:Then you do not know Enugu. Relying on social media does not help. Visit the state and see things for yourself. It is a tourism state. Every state has water problems. Lagos state has its own, just like Ogun, Ekiti, Jigawa, etc. Sanwo Olu is addressing the Lagos situation, just as other governors try to address theirs. Lagos sits on the bank of the Atlantic Ocean, yet we see citizens carrying containers from street to street, in search of water. It is a common problem in the entire nation and will take the intervention of governments at all levels to fix. Nigerians deserve to live well. Erosion is a common problem also in some SW and SS states. Ogun state for example has been dealing with that for some time. The reason Lagos placed a ban ion unlicensed dredging is to arrest erosion in some areas too. |
Antichristian2:Enugu means city on the hill. Enugu always had pipe borne water in some parts, just like Lagos state. The major challenge that Enugu faces, just like other cities and towns on hilly and mountainous areas is water depth. Water seems to dry up leading to lack in those areas. Constructing boreholes can be very expensive in those areas. For example, Lagos which is a lowland costs 150-250 k to construct boreholes depending on the areas. In Enugu, just like other hilly areas, one can spend cash much as 3m naira to construct boreholes, as depth matters. Lagos has the challenge also around Ire Akari estate, Isolo, where water depth is deeper. Ire Akari is on the hilly side. But if you find water in the area, just like in other cities and towns, it is much better than you can find in other areas. |
Hopefully pipelines can be fixed in a lot of the communities that do not have pipelines. New areas have developed over the years and pipelines are not located there. Old neighborhoods like Ilupeju, Surulere, Victoria Island, Yaba, Anthony, Eric Moore, Ajegunle, Apapa, Jibowu, etc have pipelines running through them. Hopefully new areas like Ajah, Dopemu, Magboro, Ikotun, Ajangbadi, Okokomaiko, Ilogbo, Ikola, Abaranje/Okerube, Agbara, Command, Ayobo, etc can benefit from this. It should take plenty of time to lay the water pipelines, but hopefully the resources can be found to fix the pipelines. Thank you to Lagos state government and the Governor. |
TimeManager:So you can see what following APC blindly has turned a young man like you into. Following APC blindly does not enable one to reason appropriately anymore. Let’s put it this way: Buhari became the President of Nigeria in 2015. You were his ardent follower, yet struggling to make ends meet. That’s ten years ago. In 2022, while Buhari was in his seventh year, the young man who was passing through the apprenticeship system had completed his learning and was settled with 500k. You were warming up to support a certain Asiwaju Tinubu, a very wealthy politician. While you did not have shishi in your pocket and no access to get money from BAT, the young man started his business with the 500k. While you were trekking up and down with nothing to show for it, the young man was working hard to grow his business. He applied the business skills learnt from his master, selling the same products that made his master wealthy. With the 500k, he has started off a new branch. While you are there waiting for crumbs and grants from your APC government, the young man who did not attend any private, state or federal university, has become very financially stable, with his 500k. Rather than ask how the young man and others who passed through this world acclaimed apprenticeship system to take you in and teach you, you allowed tribal and racial sentiments to blind your reasoning. While you are still parading the streets of your community in search of your way out of the wilderness, the young man has made it. The FG is open to discuss with him. The banks are waiting to assist with finance if he wants. Society recognizes him. BAT will easily listen to him and even ask you to learn from him. If he had done “corner-corner doings” and the authorities have not arrested him so far, do you not see that jealousy has gotten the better part of you? Is it not better to do the same “corner-corner things” than to be a slave to politicians, begging for crumbs daily? Between you and him who will politicians speedily allow to enter their offices and homes? Bros, poverty no dey let person get sense. Leave poverty make poverty leave you. With your education, how far between you and him? Who is a slave now? Leave jealousy make e no kill you. |
Peterobiisathie:Maybe that should make the two of you. |
Bekermann:It should be so. Do not forget that Aba is much farther than Onitsha. |
simpleseyi:What a very wicked wish. Anyway, no wahala. You’ll take over his position in Kuje prison when he’s out. |
Ola9ja23:Should they be allocated to the North or Southwest? The largest gas reserves in the country are found in the SE, while the largest oil reserves are found in the SS. With due respect, should the refineries be sited in areas very far from their raw materials? If not for the foolishness of the leaders of Rivers state, Dangote refinery would have been installed there. Again if you have kept up with the news, you’d have found that BUA 200k capacity refinery is getting constructed in Akwa Ibom state. Do not let tribalism destroy you as a young person. |
Ojuntana:Please read the post and get a better understanding. I copied and forwarded this sake definition just like Lauretta Onochie has done three days ago. If you read it with understanding, then you’ll tell yourself that calling someone wife when she us not, is complete sexual harassment. Do not get into trouble first please. |
This is very unbelievable. Mr. OP, I know fully well that the cost of transport from Egbeda to Ikeja was never 100 naira, not to talk of your imaginary 200 or 300 naira. The cost of transport to Ikeja from Egbeda is 800 naira presently and it is easily verifiable. The said 200 is paid by those going to Dopemu roundabout from Egbeda. By the way, the transport fare to Ikeja was 500 naira even as of 2023. You can verify all. Don’t paint a wrong picture here please. Petrol price reduced in Lagos, yet transport cost remains high. It is the same with other states, except that you are being lazy to do a proper job. I wonder how you did not do you homework well before this report of Anambra state. Some of you fellows appear to be very obsessed with matters of Abambra state. Petrol was never 1,600. I wonder how you got that. Even in December when it. Was celebration time, petrol price did not exceed 1,200 per liter. What you call the reduction in interstate transport is the norm for this period. Transporters hiked their prices during the Christmas holidays. Now that the season is over, they have reverted to the prices before Christmas. God is good for example charged between 30k and 35k, depending on the bus operated, before Christmas. Please give us an honest report from other states. Lagos and Anambra are not the only states in Nigeria. |
eazzzy1:“…any accusation without tangible proof..”. The question is this: Did the senate committee allow the petition to enable everyone know if there were evidences or not? |
Thank you very much Mrs. Fayemi. You earned my respect, just like your husband. You hit the nail on the head. You got the point we were all along stressing. You addressed the matter very clearly. |
Very foolish comment from the fellow. If he was reasonable, the bushman would have remembered that the SP, an APC man, was the subject matter. Senators rallied to defend the house and not their political parties. Look at the votes for and you”ll find APC in the majority. That is even natural because APC enjoys majority seats. How did it matter. Or did the bushman expect the Chairman of committee to be removed for the singular assignment? This Bashir Ahmad is a complete DIDIRIN. |
emmatex2020:What’s the duty of a publicity secretary please? |
Dbegining:Please read the below and clear your doubts: https://www.nairaland.com/8361078/nass-members-challenged-suspension-court |
ChiefJusticeFuc:With all your braggadocio, you ended showing you are either raving mad or a just low iQ feret or both. You just jumped into an issue that you were not properly informed on. When Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan submitted her report, it was rejected by the committee on the ground that the matter, which was already in court, could not be adjudicated upon by them. They clearly said that it was against the principles of separation of power and they set it aside. The second petition was equally not attended to either. The invitation that she got was not because of the petition that she wrote. It was about the so called disobedience to the house rules. They ended up suspending her. Stop disgracing yasef. |
Basicend:Please read the below definition of sexual harassment: Sexual harassment is a form of sex discrimination that involves unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, or other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature. The following behaviors can constitute sexual harassment: 1. Unwelcome touching: Unwanted physical contact, such as touching, patting, or pinching. 2. Sexual comments or jokes: Making lewd or suggestive comments, telling sexual jokes, or sharing explicit content. 3. Sexual advances: Requesting sexual favors, making unwanted sexual advances, or proposing a romantic or sexual relationship. 4. Displaying explicit content: Displaying explicit images, videos, or objects in the workplace or other environments. 5. Stalking or following: Following or stalking someone, either physically or online, in a way that makes them feel uncomfortable or threatened. 6. Sexual gestures or noises: Making sexual gestures, noises, or facial expressions that make others feel uncomfortable. 7. Inappropriate emails or messages: Sending unwanted sexual emails, messages, or texts. 8. Quid pro quo harassment: Offering benefits or rewards in exchange for sexual favors or threatening negative consequences for refusing sexual advances. Sexual harassment can occur in various settings, including: - Workplace: Between colleagues, supervisors, or clients. - School: Between students, teachers, or staff. - Public spaces: In public areas, such as streets, parks, or public transportation. Remember, sexual harassment is never acceptable and can have severe consequences for the victim. If you or someone you know has experienced sexual harassment, there are resources available to help. |
success1smyn:The Senate comprises of 109 members. A look at the numbers that either voted or absented told the story completely. Disobedience to the house rules was an excuse to deal with her. Directly accusing the Senate President openly was a very silent factor and the Senate President’s supporters in the house needed to deal with her. I agree with you about pursuing the matter in court. There is case in court against the Senate President already. Now she can sit out the six months suspension or write an apology that should shorten the period. If she chooses to sit it out, then she can take the house to court thereafter and the suspension period could be shortened. Her allowances and those of her aides would be restored. Others have achieved success that way. |
xoverx:Thank you very much, Mr. Holier than thou. |
billyG:Don’t mind her. Ireti Kingibe’s so called “my daughter”, was a complete lie. No wonder Wike does not have any regard for her. |
Alright. A difference of five. So truthfully those who voted in favour were afraid of victimization. |
ddippset:Absolutely you got it. There was no favour done to anyone. Secrets were kept to be exposed sometime in the future. We are waiting to hear the secrets. The two were the major players in the secrets kept. I think that alone emboldened Fubara last year to fight Wike. The secrets! |
bixton:The “300 count charge made me laugh”. Yes, sometimes they may be overzealous. Sometimes they detain first, investigate and proceed to court. Yet in all, there’s reasonable suspicion. With the ex governors, the major stumbling block is the “contacts”. Those who they say place their legs on the case, making the officers drop either investigation or prosecution. In all, we need strong institutions. They need to work, if our democratic process is to survive. |
IGBOPROMISE1:100%. |
zero8zero:What is more gory than so called Fulani herdsmen raping women and inserting sticks into their private parts? What is more gory than Fulani herdsmen burning peoples farms completely? What is more gory than herdsmen burning entire communities and killing the peoples of the communities? It is an act of cowardice when in the face of the truth, you deny the fact. Cowardice is that you live the accused and attack the victim. Everyday truck loads of northerners, especially from the Northwest and Northeast daily land to various states in the South, with sophisticated weapons and bikes. They entire peoples communities and in a matter of days are easily able to navigate the communities better than the indigenes. One day right there in Festac, a lady was driving her car out of her house. An Northern Okada rider hit her car at the back. As she got down to ask him why he scratched her, the Okada rider slapped the woman. Before we knew it, several Nothern Okada riders stopped their machines and joined in attacking her. Why must we continue to tolerate this wickedness from these evil herdsmen? The country recognizes freedom of movement and association. But when such freedom goes with deliberate acts of killing, maiming and destruction, something has to be done. |
No more women to have sex with, not to talk of raping. No more good food for life. Will not be able to have families of their own. No proper roofs over their heads. No more proper beds and chairs. All these because of their inability to let a little girl go her way. The little sum of 2k could have helped them with some ladies of easy virtue. Very foolish men. |
OP, before posting this, did you not read it clearly to see how contradicting it is? On one hand insecurity grows, on the other hand Ken Emeakayi handles it. Anyway, the days of uncontrolled and uncontrollable crimes in Anambra state have vanished. Anambra state once again will become the safest state in the country, with the present security architecture put in place by the Governor. The major challenge which kept people in the homes was the infamous sit at home. Now people move around on Mondays and it is even very dangerous for the enforcers to move around on Mondays. Touting and agberoism have in one single stroke be one a thing of the past. No one tries that in any part of the state anymore. Anambra state now has SASA better know as aka odo. If you are caught as a tout, you gave the law. I am sure that you have heard of the recent Anambra state homeland security law. By this, the state has become a no go area for kidnappers, yahoo boys/girls, fake native doctors and prophets, drug users and those involved in other forms of criminal practices. So OP, you need to update yourself about events ib Abambra state as you are neither resident there nor come from state. |
bixton:I think we are basically saying the same thing. EFCC will not make an arrest without some information. That’s the way I see it. The challenge has always been with prosecution, with either the suspects or accused, using all means possible to subvert it. Yaya Bello’s case readily comes to mind, with the governor accused of protecting him in the state house and using all means possible to shield him. Our security organizations seem to be handcuffed by the same politicians who make or are supposed to preserve the laws. |
bixton:But EFCC has the information needed. Apparently not just Wike, but other ex governors, appoint their stooges to cover up their tracks. The reason appears to keep EFCC from accessing very sensitive and incriminating documents. When EFCC sought to arrest Fubara then as the accountant general, it was stated that Wike kept him in the government house. When he bought him the ticket, Fubara was not seen. We had little glimpse of him during the campaigns and he was largely with Wike. Having handed over power, if Fubara cooperated fully, they would have an additional eight years postponing the day of reckoning. This political battle is very necessary for the citizens to find out what’s happening in their state. If Fubara is impeached, EFCC will easily pick him up and I think thereafter we should hear their long kept secrets. |
